Tech Review – The Google Pixel 5. #Pixel5 #MadeByGoogle #Tech

I have been using Pixel devices since year one and they tend be devices I hold onto longer than any other smartphone due to their great clean software experience and camera, Over the years thought they have got expensive and followed the Apple and Samsung trends of  €1000 plus phones and this did not work out too well for them and with the Pixel 4 XL  the battery and price was its demise but they have turned this around completely with the 4a and now their latest flagship the Pixel 5.

I moved directly from the Pixel 4a to the 5 alongside some other devices I am testing but my main sim always remains in the Pixel phone once the testing is done most of the time I carry two phones and have the iPhone 12 ordered and they will be my two main devices bar the test units we have here now and what is coming and I will most likely swap the sim in the iPhone as I am so use to using the best android experience with Pixel phones. This time around they have added more to the already great pixel 4a which I have used since it launched and thrown everything at it and still works a treat today and when the 5 arrived I was excited to see what was new and how the device performed over the 4a and overall it is a win and the question people ask most is it worth moving up from a device only released a few months ago and the answer is yes.

You have a better build quality to begin with ( aluminium)  and that finish is really nice too and of course the colour, Under the hood is also better with the 765G chipset 128GB of storage which is handy and expected at the price, 8GB of RAM a 4080 mAh battery which is lasting me a day with heavy use, The rear camera is 12.2-megapixel  (f/1.7) + 16-megapixel (f/2.2) ultrawide and the front facing camera is 8MP f/2.0 whilst we have no face unlock which by the way is convenience we have a finger print sensor on the back which is perfectly placed and works all the time, also 18W fastcharge , wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

Throwing my usual daily tasks at this phone where no problem at all and it flew at anything thrown at it from multitasking to some gaming whilst testing products, of course the camera is the order of the day here for the Pixel 5 which never fails to impress and it is a simple point and shoot device with great results guaranteed almost every time check out the samples below in the video and overall I was impressed just as I was with the cheaper Pixel 4a , the device being small like the 4a did not bother me as I am custom to using bigger devices but since using the 4a smaller devices do not bother me so much and it is better than having a weighty chunk in your pocket.

In regards the camera there still seems to be a race as to whom can pack the biggest hump on the rear and the most lenses which is getting a bit lame now and you can only use one lens at a time and Google has done both here in a nice subtle way and still delivers with LESS hump and lenses which for me proves a point many fail to include and with many options in both camera and video modes there is more than enough to get the job done.

The days of  €1000 plus phones are over with mobile phones and it reminds me today of yesteryear when phones cost a lot of money and was nothing but a status symbol and we have reached this era again with the cost to performance ratio coming down some time now on mobiles there is plenty on offer that does the same thing for half the price and the Pixel 5 sits right in the middle and is a nicely packed clean device that puts it up to the competition, it seems like Google have ditched the bigger device for good now but with prices and parts coming down I would like to see a slightly bigger device next time around but for now it is one of if not the best  Android experiences you can buy now for the money and a phone that works on any task effortlessly.

Tech Review – The Nokia 5310 2020 edition. #Nokia5310 #Tech

The Nokia 5310  express music was announced first back in August 2007 which was part of their music line up and had several really snazzy devices back then, the phone did have a better build quality then and was thinner than the current refresh model and was a popular slim candy bar phone that could knock out the tunes, there was also a set of speakers that came with some retail packages which I still have here today.

The refresh model is light yet has many features such as a torch, dual front facing speakers, radio and MP3 player, the camera will not win any awards but there is plenty of things to do here and snake of course built in, we take a hands on tour of the device below and show you what is on offer with todays model, Nokia/HMD Global hopefully will bring back some more of the golden oldies in the future.

Techbuzz purchased this device and HMD Global have no connection whatsoever with my thoughts…

Tech Review – The Tranya T10 True Wireless earbuds #Tranya #TWS #Tech

The Tranya T10 are the latest on offer from the company and an improvement over the B530 we reviewed a while ago. Where these fair out better is the touch controls which are excellent and not ones you need to shove into your ears like some to get a command activated. These come equipped with fast charging and a nice level of bass and volume to boot and overall deliver on sound quality for the price you pay, In general earbuds are now getting much better value for money like smartphones and these are in the same league and offer it up to the competition out there now in the crowded market for earbuds but here is where the consumer wins by way of choice and value for money.

Features on the T10 include….

1. Utilizes a 12mm graphene driver that delivers more powerful, detailed sound with deep bass

2. Adopts advanced aptX and AAC codec technology for truly authentic sound with highly-pitched playback

3. The sound is expertly tuned with high clarity. The bass is powerful, tight and layered, the treble is clear and crisp

3. IPX7 water and sweat proof

4. With cVc 8.0 noise cancellation on the built-in microphone, it automatically reduces the background noise and optimizes the voice pick up

5. 8-hour playtime on a single charge and total 32-hour playtime with charging case

6. Supports fast charging with Type-C port and wireless charger

Otterbox is a well known case brand and have been a staple of case making for many years with their tough approach to protecting your smartphone, often bulky back in the day with technology things have changed and they now have more streamlined cases to protect your smartphone and a much wider range and also accessories to go with them. Tech Review – The Pamu Slide Mini true wireless earbuds. #PamuSlideMini #Tech #TWS

The Pamu slide mini are the second pair on offer from their well received OG pair which today still serve me well and are a worthy purchase and a solid performer considering the price and they also came in a first I have seen with a case that offers wireless charging for your phone too which was a neat touch and not seen since from me from any other, there is charging cases with many TWS earbuds but none that offer wireless charging.

To keep this short these are pretty much identical to the previous pair and you can read that review HERE and they still deliver as a whole coming in cheaper and the fit on these again is great and something I liked from the OG and the design which again remains the same and the difference being a smaller case yet offering wireless charging for the earbuds but none for your smartphone etc.

  • Features Bluetooth Chip QCC3020
  • 30 hours playback on one charge
  • Awesome sound with booming bass
  • Touch Controls for easy operation
  • Water Resistance:IPX6
  • Wireless charging
  • Smaller Charging Case

Tech Review – Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 3 Headphones. #Tech #Sennheiser

The Sennheiser Momentum 3 are best described as a high end set of cans with a luxurious finish which of course is reflected on their price but they are worth it if you have the money to spare. All features you expect to find are present on these headphones and at this price and they also come with an app to enhance the experience even more with the option to change the EQ settings.

You also get a nice travel case with these and also expected at this price and excellent for storing the product when not in use.

When it comes to comfort they shine here too offering noise isolation on the ears with really soft cups and the same for the headband, I did not suffer any head pinching after hours of use as I have seen some people say and this is most likely down to the shape of your head rather than the build quality of the headphones which is excellent. There is decent padding on the headband and it is an average amount of cushion to compare to others out there.

When it comes to controls you have all placed on one side which is the best way to do things and not split them, We go through all these in detail in the video review below and you also get auto play and pause so when you take them off they stop playing music and you also have more functions like three ANC modes which again is now a standard at high end headphones.

You also get tile integration which is also now seen on high end headphones and this is great for the forgetful type of if you happen to misplace or lose them.

When it comes to sound which is the bigger question these are excellent throughout and with their proprietary app you are in for a treat and they are loud which most know I like, The levels of ANC the highs lows and mids and great bass and one thing I noted is they are great for picking out background noise and something you might not hear watching tv or movies these pick it up and they are also excellent on voice calls too and overall it has been a great experience using these and they really put it up to their competitors but not so much on the ANC side however do a great job overall and I would easily buy a pair of these with my own money. Their price will come down and varies and we can expect a new model soon but if you have some cash sitting around and want a new pair of headphones these are certainly a pair of headphones  to check out..

Review – The Creative Super SXFI AIR headphones. #Tech #Creative #SXFI #Gaming #Headphones

The Creative Super SXFI AIR headphones are something special and probably the best gaming headphones to date I have reviewed not only in respect to gaming but these deliver for personal use as well as gaming delivering sound that puts you right in the centre giving you a real immersive feeling no matter what you have these connected too.

Super X-Fi technology uses computational audio to recreate the listening experience of a high-end multi-speaker system in a professional studio, and delivers the same experience in headphones.

On setting up you will need to scan your ears and face via the app, there is two apps in fact and you then have a profile created, not only this you can customise the RGB lighting on both cups to your taste too which gives them an additional effect given you will not see it when wearing but they look cool regardless.

When it comes to comfort these also shine here and cover the ears giving you extra noise cancelling without doing anything in the app to enhance the experience. They make a great seal and fit nicely over the ears and can be worn for long periods of time and not feeling uncomfortable in doing so after my hours of testing.

On the headphones we have a touch sensitive area where you swipe which lets you control the music by skipping tracks, control the volume calls and you also can access your voice assistant too so these double as a gaming headset and a personal one too and they do not disappoint here at all I was really impressed with how good these are at the price they command.

On the left side we have a Micro SD card slot which allows you to carry music on the go which is a neat idea so you are not tied to your smartphone USB-C ports 3.5mm socket and source button alongside the Super X-Fi button which makes the punch when turned on change the headset completely ,you also have your little mic via a little stump if you will which is much better than a retractable one or fixed. On the right side there is no buttons so it all happens on one side which I like and is not confusing.

Comfort is also excellent here even for long term usage the cups are deep and give really good isolation off the bat without doing a thing then you have two apps to choose from to enhance the experience, no lag latency noted whilst gaming or listening to music and the controls work a treat once you get the thumb memory going. Overall for gaming these are the best I have tested yet but we have another pair to check out too so stay tuned for that review and see the video below for more. I do so gaming but not much but however these really drop you into the centre of the game and as for using as a pair of standalone headphones they are really really good and better than I expected and are up there with my top 5 pairs of headphones right now which is saying alot.

If you are looking for a simple beside lamp that has some RGB this is one to check that is affordable and easy to use with not set up or app needed to control it, small light and robust it is ideal for a bedside locked or even a shelf in you kitchen or bedroom and it just blends in well and sets the right move with the colour tuning.
