Tech Review – Instax Link WIDE mobile photo printer

Instax always bring out nice products it has to be said and their newest product is quite nice and really cool which delivers great photos and not only that they look good and you can get really creative with their photos via their app which is also great I must say.

OK but the product is a bit cumbersome people have said and that is true like some of their cameras however it is the nostalgia and the instant print pictures that makes them a win, look at it like this, when was the last time you send a camera or even sent off for prints on your phone, shall I stop here? Yes….  I have your attention now and this is why a cumbersome product wins and why more people like them and are willing to give up a bit of space over a drawer full of make up and the kitchen sink in their bag for instant memories that the entire group can share and have a copy of it in their hands there and then.

The build quality on this printer is also great and like with any instax camera or printer I have tried nothing has changed in that department they are solid products it has to be said and built to last.

The app is great, we go through this in detail in the video review so you don’t have to learn what it is all about, it is simple to use and it has great features I like it alot and you can get creative here if you feel the need to or simply just print snaps from your mobile phone on the go.. Check out the unboxing video below to get started and see what you get.

Lightweight design built for portability and speed

Surpassing the functionality offered by other smartphone printers in its class, the lightweight, handheld Link WIDE transfers an image and starts the print in about 12 seconds, supports continuous printing, and is capable of generating about 100 instax instant prints per battery charge. Link WIDE provides two printing modes; instax Rich, accentuating deep, warm colors, and instax Natural, which emphasizes the inherent tones of the image.

The App

The Link WIDE App has been designed for ease-of-use with a variety of useful image printing options. The App features editing tools including cropping, approximately 30 filters, collage capabilities, adding text to the printed image, as well as in-app stickers and frame templates. Additional App features include:

  • Sketch, Edit & Print – import sketches and handwritten text, add them to photos, add sticker icons, and print.
  • Printing photos from videos – select a frame within a video and print it.
  • QR Print Mode: add a QR code to scan with a Smartphone to your photo, with the ability to:
    • Record sound
    • Link to a website
    • Tag your location on the print
  • Record a hidden message

Conclusion

This is a really fun printer and I had fun testing it out and seeing my pictures develop there and then, the picture quality is good and then what you can add to it, it is an easy recommendation for purchase for your own use or an excellent idea for a gift this Christmas

FUJIFILM Launch PrintLife Digital Exhibition with Chance to win INSTAX CAMERAS and Photo Printing Vouchers

Following last year’s successful digital exhibition and a 15-year history of hosting public photo exhibitions, Fujifilm has today launched its second printlife@home exhibition to tell the stories behind the photos taken over the last year in Europe.

After long lockdowns across Europe, photography has been firmly established a key part of collecting new memories as families, friends and loved ones begin to reunite with one another. Every photo tells a story, and Fujifilm is calling for these stories to be shared in this year’s printlife@home exhibition.

Launching on August 2nd, members of the public across Europe can submit their photos to Fujifilm’s second virtual photo exhibition until 5 December 2021 on www.fujifilm-printlife.eu. The exhibition is open to everyone, irrespective of whether their photos are shot on a smartphone or a camera.

Creating and looking back at memories through the medium of photography has provided comfort and happiness to many through these difficult periods, so Fujifilm wants the public to not only share their special snaps but also their arrangements or displays of photos at home to provide the feeling of walking through personal galleries, providing the perfect storytelling setting.

David Honey, General Manager Photo Imaging at Fujifilm Europe, said:

“Over the last 18 months, so many of us have returned to old photos to remind us of what life was like before the global pandemic, searching for the comfort of nostalgia. At Fujifilm, we strongly believe in the power of photography to capture and preserve memories for years to come, with each photo telling its own unique story. Whether you consider yourself a professional photographer or you prefer to capture your own memories on your smartphone camera, printlife@home is open to all to share these stories.

printlife@home is open for any member of the public to enter and Fujifilm is looking to celebrate the most creative contributions and meaningful stories by choosing five Photos of the Week. Winners, selected by an independent jury, will not only have their photos profiled by Fujifilm but will also receive a voucher of €200, €150 or €100, or currency equivalent, to spend on photo printing products, or instead opting for an instax mini 40 or instax mini 11 camera, both with instax mini film provided to have everything needed to get creative and shoot beautiful instant prints.

After Fujifilm’s global100,000 Photos exhibition was postponed in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, printlife@home launched in Europe in 2020 to provide a way for amateur, professional and hobbyist photographers to connect with each other. More than 10,500 photos were uploaded, giving a unique insight into the stories emerging across the continent.

David Honey, General Manager Photo Imaging at Fujifilm Europe, said:

“Last year’s exhibition really demonstrated the simultaneously shared and unique experiences we have all been through over the last 18 months, giving focus to the varied cultures, roles and identities emerging from the hundreds of thousands of uploaded photos. The printlife@home exhibition provides a unique snapshot into how daily life has changed – and continues to change – using the creativity of photography. We want to continue this discovery journey this year and look forward to seeing and reviewing the thousands of entries we hope to receive.”

Fujifilm’s 15-year history in mass public participation photo exhibitions has seen the 100,000 Photos exhibition tour across various locations, from Japan and Malaysia to France and the USA. This year, 500 photos entered into printlife@home will also be showcased in an on-site exhibition at The Photography Show in Birmingham, UK in September.

Tech Review – FujiFilm Instax mini 40 camera. #FujiFilm #InstaxMini40

I am not a huge camera fan and I hardly use a proper camera if you will I have always been one to use my mobile phone and this was due to Nokia devices such as the Lumia 1020 for example and it pretty much has been the same since until Nokia/ Microsoft left the scene then I moved onto other devices and back to Nokia branded devices when HMD took the helm. I hold a huge collection of these phones and other brands and they have been pretty much the staple for photography and video for me and I know many others in the same boat and it will always be that was since mobile phones have got so good with their cameras.

I am a retro fan and collector when it comes to many things in life, phones is my main favourite then trainers and watches and I have amassed a huge collection over the years and these still grow today and this is why I like the Instax cameras and this model in particular even more so. These cameras are a niche product but a large niche and I can see why people love them, The INSTAX SQUARE SQ1 MINI LINK and MINI LI PLAY are previous models I have tested and have went down really well with 85K views alone on You Tube and over 250K site views combined which shows there is interest in these products and I can understand why and that is from someone who is not a DSLR/Camera fan to begin with but understands the technology behind such but they just never appealed to me but these cameras do.

It is a big camera lets not mistake this it is cumbersome you have to carry film with you it will take up room in your bag but the thing is you get your images there and then, when was the last time you actually went and got films developed?? Go on I will wait for that answer..  We are so immersed in our mobile phones today and even before the pandemic struck I really cant remember when I seen someone with an actual proper camera in their hand apart from tourists on O Connell st bridge and they where huge DSLR cameras and they both tie in together here when it comes to size but the outcome is different.

Ok so the deal overall here is this is a retro camera that takes decent images pending the conditions and it is a simple click and go, no messing around with settings like your phone or standard camera and so on, I find that things closer to the lens come out better and sharper and bright conditions the best but for a night out or a trip to the park or sea this is great for getting those family shots etc, the only caveat here is that film is expensive and at times images can get blown out but it is a really nice camera to have at your disposal and is fun to use and most importantly you get a credit card sized photo there and then rather than having to wait for them to be developed.

Unboxing and Review – The FUJIFILM instax SQUARE SQ1 Camera. #FUJIFILM #Tech #instaxSQUAREQ1

FUJIFILM Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of its instax SQUARE SQ1 Instant Camera. The latest addition to the instax line-up is an analog, square camera that creates square format instant prints at 1.5 times the size of its instax mini counterparts. instax SQUARE SQ1 introduces a minimalist, user-friendly square camera body design and key features include Automatic Exposure and One-Touch Selfie Mode.

instax SQUARE SQ1 combines everything that instax fans love about the mini’s cool, modern style and functionality with the larger, vibrant output of our square film.  instax SQUARE SQ1 is designed for instax’s creative community of fans, as the perfect companion to help them to create compelling new instant prints.

“With the new instax SQUARE SQ1, you bring the romance of film back into the day where the results are instant, and the memories are tangible,” said photographer, skateboarder, and creator Sierra Prescott. “I like that it’s compact enough that I can take it anywhere, durable enough to toss in my backpack. And with the new twisty selfie mode, wide enough to fit more of what I love in the frame. You get a fully developed, larger square print in 90 seconds and a deep vibrant colour that I just love. It’s simple to use and a rad addition to every hang.”

instax SQUARE SQ1 Features:

Automatic Exposure

This function automatically senses the level of ambient light when the shutter button is pressed, and optimizes the shutter speed and flash output according to lighting conditions. It allows even those who are new to instant photography to take photos that are automatically properly exposed regardless of conditions, producing clearer and more vibrant instant prints on the spot.

One-Touch Selfie Mode

Along with its built-in selfie mirror, instax SQUARE SQ1’s One-Touch Selfie mode is designed specifically for selfies and close-up shots, setting the best focus and exposure for the shot by changing the position of the lens when activated. Activation is simple, by rotating the lens from ‘On’ to ‘Selfie’ mode.

New film options

Also accompanying the launch of the instax SQUARE SQ1 are two new instax instant film varieties; instax SQUARE Rainbow film and instax SQUARE Monochrome film, designed so that instax fans can bring even more creativity to their instant photography.
