Are you using Google’s Inbox service? Or are you dying to try it? Either way, I have some news for you. Google is not allowing current users of the service to invite up to 3 friends to join Inbox, so you won’t have to wait for that “golden ticket”, although Google has said that they are increasing the number of invitations anyway, so if you don’t want to pester you friends that may have already gotten the service, it shouldn’t be too long before you can join in the fun.
Update: We have a report from one reader that he can send more than 3 invites using the ios app, developing…
Google have just announced a new service called Inbox, yeah sounds like mail but its not, apparently its been years in the making and in short gives you the important things you need to know and it also lets you add reminder to particular mails too check it out down below and what it can do..this looks good as for someone like me who has several accounts getting too many mails each day so for those who are in the same boat this is for you..
Email started simply as a way to send digital notes around the office. But fast-forward 30 years and with just the phone in your pocket, you can use email to contact virtually anyone in the world…from your best friend to the owner of that bagel shop you discovered last week.
With this evolution comes new challenges: we get more email now than ever, important information is buried inside messages, and our most important tasks can slip through the cracks—especially when we’re working on our phones. For many of us, dealing with email has become a daily chore that distracts from what we really need to do—rather than helping us get those things done.
If this all sounds familiar, then Inbox is for you. Or more accurately, Inbox works for you. Here are some of the ways Inbox is at your service:
Bundles: stay organized automatically
Inbox expands upon the categories we introduced in Gmail last year, making it easy to deal with similar types of mail all at once. For example, all your purchase receipts or bank statements are neatly grouped together so that you can quickly review and then swipe them out of the way. You can even teach Inbox to adapt to the way you work by choosing which emails you’d like to see grouped together.
Highlights: the important info at a glance
Inbox highlights the key information from important messages, such as flight itineraries, event information, and photos and documents emailed to you by friends and family. Inbox will even display useful information from the web that wasn’t in the original email, such as the real-time status of your flights and package deliveries. Highlights and Bundles work together to give you just the information you need at a glance.
Reminders, Assists, and Snooze: your to-do’s on your own terms
Inbox makes it easy to focus on your priorities by letting you add your own Reminders, from picking up the dry cleaning to giving your parents a call. No matter what you need to remember, your inbox becomes a centralized place to keep track of the things you need to get back to.
Get invited..
Starting today, Google are sending out the first round of invitations to give Inbox a try, and each new user will be able to invite their friends. If Inbox can’t arrive soon enough for you, you can email them at inbox@google.com to get an invitation as soon as more become available.
Yesterday was a busy day for Google and grateful for all fans of the little bot. The company announced the highly anticipated Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 tablet (with a little HTC DNA outside),
However, the big surprise was Google’s Nexus Player! Built in collaboration with Asus. It’s the first Android-powered entertainment hub
The Nexus Player
The Nexus Player it’s a media player and a game console in a small package, has a 1.8 GHz quad-core Intel Atom CPU, 1gb of RAM, 8gb of storage, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, an HDMI port and a Micro USB 2.0 port.
The device ships with a Bluetooth remote, used for navigate through the interface. It has a built-in microphone allowing you to do voice search.
The Nexus Remote
The device has Google Cast right out of the box. This, allows you to cast media from an Android or iOS device, a Mac, a Chromebook or even a desktop PC.
Besides all this awesome features something that gamers will love it’s tha aditional joypad that can be used for gaming all your android games on the bigger screen.
The aditional ASUS Joypad
The Nexus Player will be up for pre-order on October 17, but will become available on November 3. It’ll be priced at $99, while the gamepad accessory will cost $39.
The Nexus 6 also comes with Android L aka Lolipop and it has a huge battery at 3220 mAh which will see you through the day no problem, this is not the only device with the battery power so keep that in mind .
Also they claim that 15 mins charging will give you 6 hours of use which is quite impressive but yet to be tested in the real world.this surely is a good feature to have and working from new turbo charging technology.
The Nexus 6 is set to go up for pre-order on the 29th of October.
Apps love em or hate em they are here to stay, and yes we all buy apps and don’t like them at times and just leave it sit there but you only had 15 minutes to get a refund if you didn’t like the app you chose to download from store.
Thankfully now this has changed and changed for the good too,you now have 2 hours to decide if you do or do not like the app in question, generally there is no trial versions on the play store unlike Windows for example or if you are involved in beta programmes you are lucky as you can trial the app for free,so this 2 hour window gives you a chance to have some real time to test the app and see if its working fine or if there is bugs present.
Also to note there is lots of bogus apps in the store and to some they are not aware of how genuine some apps are so always check the developer and check the reviews too, this will give a good guide as to how the app performs and to its legitimacy..but typically you will see both good and bad reviews on all apps on all platforms, this is just how the scene works but you will notice a pattern.
Myself has had time when apps where no good and i sometimes missed the timeframe of 15 mins and sometimes not but when getting a refund within the limits always have went smoothly regardless.
Today I went in search of a new client for Reddit. Until today, I used “Reddit is fun golden platinum”, and I thought it was the best app for the job.
It’s not.
The Beta version of Reddit News and Reddit News Free (Ads) has blown every other client I’ve ever used out of the water, without a doubt.
The main reason why I love this client is because of it’s beautiful design and functionality.
The app’s beat version has the new “material design” look that we should all be expecting to see soon running on our devices. Animations are slick, text is clear, and it’s very well laid out so you can access almost anything with just a few swipes.
The functionality of this app is unrivaled. I’m not saying that other clients don’t offer the same capabilities as this one, this one just does it better. A lot better. I used to hate using reddit on my mobile, simply because I knew that it didn’t look pretty and tracking comments was an absolute nightmare, but now, reddit news is my second most used app and almost definitely my favourite.
To sign up for the beta to Reddit News, click the link below to join the community where you can opt-in to be a beta tester:
Once you’ve joined, just download the app, or if you already have it, wait for the update to be pushed to your device.
So what do you guys think? Do you like the new “material design”, or are you going to stick with the “Holo” look for now? Let me know in the comments below and I’ll do my best to answer 🙂
