Twitter now allows you share tweets via DM quicker. #Twitter #Social

Twitter is now allowing you to share DMs quicker than ever by adding a new feature today which is rolling out on Android and iOS. You should be able to see a new message icon on the tweet which is on the very right and if you click on the tweet it’s between the heart and share icon.Lots of people do spend much time on Twitter and have conversation in DM mode so this will be a welcome addition for some. All you need to do is tap the new message icon and it will bring you to a list of recently used people and then select the person and press send, otherwise you can just search for the person you intend to send the tweet too.

Twitter say

Every day, millions of people send Direct Messages to communicate privately with friends, family, experts, brands, and anyone else they find interesting on Twitter. In fact, we’ve seen the number of messages sent grow over 60% in 2015. And the number of Tweets shared privately has grown even faster, at 200% in just the second half of last year.

Google’s Fiber Phone wants to be your new landline provider By @VicenteA_George #Google

After the official launch of “Project Fi” the search giant wants to become your landline phone provider.

Nothing really inventive or revolutionary but rather useful if you need it and if you are lucky enough to be on one of the “few areas” where is going to start.

Let’s take a look at the Fiber Phone

This service will be available for all those who uses Google Fiber Internet.

Costing $10 per month, you’ll get full unlimited local national calls, keeping the number you have or picking a new one, you’ll even get caller ID with the phone.

Something you’ll find even more useful is the ability to use either your home line or make it call your cell phone if you’re out.

Working through the same principle as Google Voice this “add on” could be interesting if they get to implemented in the proper way.

In the post announcing the event they said the service is going to be available in few areas to star with, but they didn’t say where, though is safe to think on the four major areas where Google Fiber is available.

Review – UAG Magma case for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. #UAG

Today our UAG case for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge arrived in Magma red and this colour is quite nice indeed. The case just takes a second to install and you are better off straight away than being caseless. Some folk prefer the naked feel to their device and the 7 edge does feel nice in the hand to hold but protection is something you should always consider due to the high cost of these phones and again if you damage your screen you are talking a big bill here. Check out the image gallery and video review below, this case is a nice one to have and any questions fire away..

Flyover Country – An app that tells you whats beneath your flight path #Apps #Travel

For those who travel this is an interesting app.. Ever wondered what is beneath you as fly to your destination?? This new app just does exactly this and its now on Android and iOS. This will a interesting one to try our if you fancy knowing what is beneath you and does not require you sitting at the window either..

Flyover Country is a National Science Foundation funded offline mobile app for geoscience outreach and data discovery. The app exposes interactive geologic maps from Macrostrat.org, fossil localities from Neotomadb.org and Paleobiodb.org, core sample localities from LacCore.org, Wikipedia articles, offline base maps, and the user’s current GPS determined location, altitude, speed, and heading.

The app analyses a given flight path and caches relevant map data and points of interest (POI), and displays these data during the flight, without in flight wifi. By downloading only the data relevant to a particular flightpath, cache sizes remain reasonable, allowing for a robust experience without an internet connection.

How to use FC:
-Tap two or more points on the map to specify your path, then click ‘Load path’ in the top right corner to view the data associated with the path. Select ‘Save for offline’ to store the data and associated articles on your device for offline use. Access saved paths from the ‘Saved’ menu.
-Toggle ‘GPS’ to the on position in the side menu (accessed by pressing the menu button, top left). This will enable position tracking, speed, heading, and altitude information to be accessed from the map view.
-You may also select your ‘Trip mode’ from the side menu. the ‘plane’ provides a wide strip of data while ‘car/foot’ provides a narrower but more detailed geologic map with detailed unit descriptions and metadata.
