Tech Review – Jabra Evolve2 buds

The Jabra Evolve2 buds are the ideal partner to have if you work from home or in the office and use more than one device and if you are into meetings which is more common than ever these days these earbuds is what you need and if you like your music too well then these solve all these problems in one go and the thing is they are portable and can be brought anywhere and it is a super simple set-up with the dongle to switch between two devices which for me is key and a multipoint connection is for me something that is a must and again for those who work in either closed or open office space environments.

The design of the earbuds is familiar with their current range and for me is fine they work well and fit perfectly with the right tips and again this is something I always point out when using earbuds to get the best out of them and these also come with the MyFit option to ensure you have them set up at optimum levels which will benefit you in the end so do not skip the process, you can if you life however you will not get the full performance they offer if not, it only takes a few minutes and is worth it, trust me.

The App

The app as always is excellent although this time around it has being tailored towards the use of teams we have covered the app multiple times here on site but we do take a look in more detail in the video review below.. As expected the app is full of features and allows you take control of what you want and need with a nice UI and it is simple to navigate.

The sound

OK well what more would you expect from Jabra then? They sound great from all aspects of use be it connected to PC or phone and the same applies for using teams on both, there was some lag latency noted at first but an updated chimed through during testing and seems to have fixed it, like any other pair of Jabra earbuds I have used the I was confident these would not disappoint and that they did not given they are geared for Teams and UC platforms. In short these Evolve2 buds are a one stop shop for those who want to still enjoy their music and spend much of their day on Teams calls with no issues at all noted and drop outs during my testing.

The only thing noted was the ANC is not up to par at this price-point however these are a more targeted pair of earbuds towards the office if you will rather than a whole music experience but they overall as mentioned still are a one stop shop for those who are in the environments and you have a nice widget you can use on your phone to swap between modes also giving you the stats at hand for reference.

Key features of the Evolve2 Buds:

  • Certified for Microsoft Teams and leading UC platforms – for enhanced collaboration experience
  • MultiSensor Voice technology – ensures professional call performance by using multiple mics and Jabra algorithms to block out noise

Review – The Jabra Evolve 2 85. The hybrid headphones you need. #JabraEvolve2 #Jabra

The Jabra Evolve 2 85 are a hybrid pair of headphones that can be used both in the office and home or even out for a stroll, If you are coming from a pair of 85h you are going to get the same experience as before only this time these are equipped towards the office user or indeed those who work from home which is a new trend that has recently went on fast forward. These headphones are UC certified which means if you have the UC variant (there is several options available) you are good to go with the likes of Microsoft teams which again has seen a huge spike in use.

Build quality is great and quite similar to the older 85h which still today serve me well and when it comes to controls everything is laid out simple on these headphones which helps, There is multiple features on board here which I think sets these apart from other offerings out there. One is ANC you need this in your life especially in an open space working are for less distraction and keeping you focused on the call at hand, not only that when listening to music this is a winner and I do not need to tell you anymore on that from using the 85h the same applies again.

Comfort is another thing here to note they again can be worn for long periods of time and are really comfortable these are not heavy headphones nor clamp onto your head and after wearing these for multiple hours over several days they did not sweat nor feel annoying like some headphones can.

JABRA EVOLVE 2 65 REVIEW

The busy light is probably my favourite, Pet hate of mine if I am on a call and people come up to me when I am clearly on the phone talking this light is clearly visible to let people know that you are busy and steer clear of me if you come near me with these lights active you are asking for trouble.

The mic is retractable so it hides when not in use, these headphones can be used in both home, office or outdoors and for many out there these are a perfect answer to solve two problems and save money in the long run the mic is on the right though and some have said why not on the left or make it removable, again this is an industry standard yet I see the point and perhaps all manufacturers can look at this going forward..

The headphones come with ten mic technology and calls are great, I am not one to use teams or zoom much but I do use these platforms and they shine here as they do with music due to the 40mm speakers, Battery life is excellent here and something to note too,if you are a heavy ANC user it will obviously drain the life quicker but overall on par with the 37 hours slated, you also can get 8 hours charge in just 15 minutes which is impressive and it will take 2.5 hours to fully charge.

Jabra announce new range of professional headsets. #Jabra #Evolve2 #Tech

Jabra today announces its Evolve2 range, the next generation of the Evolve range, its best-selling and market leading UC headset to enhance productivity in the office. The range consists of the Evolve2 85, Evolve2 65, and Evolve2 40 and is engineered to transform concentration, collaboration and flexibility in the workplace. By blocking out more noise, providing better voice clarity, bringing distributed teams together, giving people the power to work from anywhere, and monitoring data to enable intelligent decision-making, the Evolve2 is the new standard to elevate office productivity to new heights. The headsets work with all leading UC platforms as well as pending certification for Microsoft Teams.

Since Jabra’s Evolve range first hit the market in 2014, office work has changed significantly. Tasks are increasing in complexity and are creating a higher need for collaboration which makes people spend more time in collaboration mode compared to concentration mode. This causes an increase of distractions and noise in the office. As a result workplace productivity remains a constant battle for businesses globally.

But not only our office environment has changed. In today’s society where our work and private lives overlap regularly, it is important that tech solutions can support every scenario. Jabra’s no-compromise Evolve2 headset range offers features that suit every element of life – whether at work, at home or on-the-go.

Future-proofing with monitoring and analytics
Besides elevating concentration, flexibility and collaboration, the Evolve2 range tackles another key reason for the continued productivity problem: the need for monitoring and  analysing the entire UC ecosystem in the company to secure stable and high UC call quality. Evolve2 will integrate with leading software/monitoring vendors to allow IT Directors and other decision-makers to analyse the performance of every Jabra headset and quickly identify the root cause of poor call quality, whether it’s due to Wi-Fi router, UC infrastructure, or the individual user’s headset settings. Moreover, the Jabra Xpress software enables easy and secure management of headsets, allowing for firmware updates and the implementation of new features whilst making life easier for the IT department.

As a result, businesses can advance their digital evolution by future-proofing their employees with the Evolve2 range, a solution built for all the challenges of modern knowledge workers: concentration in the office, remote collaboration, and the need for flexibility.

Leading sound and voice performance
Fuelled by 150 years of audio engineering excellence, Jabra has a proven track record in sound engineering. Compared to Jabra’s existing Evolve range, the new leading product Evolve2 85 is a purely digital headset that delivers 50% better noise cancellation via the Digital Hybrid ANC and noise isolating ear cushions with memory foam. The voice performance is powered by 40% better transmitted audio and double the voice distractor performance, which delivers a distinct focus on the user’s voice while cancelling distracting voices around the user. This focus is partly achieved via the 10 microphones that ensure both voice clarity and ANC – for speaking in even the nosiest environments.

The products within the range feature 360-degree visibility of the Jabra signature busy light on both ear cups to clearly signal concentration mode whilst working autonomously. Additionally, the wireless headsets in the range can be connected to all mobile devices. For these, the Jabra Sound+ App ensures a personalised and fully utilised audio experience.

The Evolve2 range includes three headsets:

  • The Evolve2 85 offers Digital Hybrid ANC and ten microphones in total, including two microphones in the fully integrated boom-arm and eight in the ear cups. Users can enjoy up to 37 hours wireless battery life, 40MM speakers for immersive music, and an integrated busy light with 360-degree view on both ear cups. The headset has been developed to take full advantage of the latest in audio chipset technology, enabling the Evolve2 85 to be one step ahead in battery life, solid connectivity and audio processing. Also, the sleek Evolve2 85 is designed with both the office environment and ‘on-the-go’ professional in mind, which ensures the headset can be worn regardless of where you’re working.

  • The Evolve2 65 has three microphones of which two are located in the boom-arm and one in the right ear cup. The headset offers up to 37 hours of battery life and three times better real wireless range than the existing Evolve 65.

  • The Evolve2 40 is a corded variant and offers the same comfort, durability and user experience as the Evolve2 65.

The Evolve2 85 and Evolve2 65 will include the Jabra Link 380, Jabra’s new BT adapter (dongle) that will be available in either USB-C or USB-A version.

The Microsoft Teams variants in the range have a dedicated Microsoft Teams button which allows instant connection to colleagues and meetings. For these versions the special status indicator LED on the headset can signal different issues, like missing a call or a meeting.

Holger Reisinger, SVP, Enterprise Solutions at Jabra, said: “The working world is changing. Advancements are being made across all sectors, but productivity isn’t improving at the necessary pace. Instead, distractions are growing in the workplace. Collaboration is on the up, but so is remote working. This makes the working world a fairly convoluted space, something the Evolve2 range provides an answer to. Our headsets deliver productivity, pioneer the digital experience, and enhance concentration. We are confident that with the Evolve2 range we’re offering the best headset for concentration and collaboration, whilst also creating a new standard in headsets for the modern office worker.”
