Tech Review – NOMAD sports case for the iPhone 14 Pro

Cases for your mobile phones are a plenty these days with new brands popping up all the time, however nomad is a brand we have had our eye on for some time and is one of the better known brands out there and there is some copycats too but nomadgoods is the real deal and have some really excellent products available and you should check them out as they have a wide range and the color palates are really nice.

OK so a phone case is a phone case to most people and you slap it on your phone and that is it, we also have a matching strap for the Apple Watch Ultra and this is the thing, matching products which is not something you see all the time and not only that they stand out and I have found this out first hand after testing both the case for my iPhone 14 pro and the strap for the Apple Watch Ultra the last while.

The case itself is clean and looks the part and covers your phone on all angles and of course is MagSafe compatible, it may be a bit on the slippy side on the rear however the sides offers extra gripping power and the lens on the rear is also protected to give some additional protection on the rear be it on a flat or mixed surface. When i say the case is on the slippy side I mean on a surface not when you hold it in your hand it actually is grippy given it has a glossy finish which is what makes it stand out.

The case will get attention and if you have an Apple watch having both will get even more and overall it is a great looking case with 6ft drop protection and gives you an overall premium look over competitors on the market yet keeping it clean.

Tech Review – STM Goods CHARGETREEGO 3-in-1 wireless charger

When it comes to charging devices we are all custom to using the equipment provided given we now see less plugs and cables in the boxes now these days, there is many other solutions out there which we have covered many of and you can see some in this video but this option from STM Goods in a one for all solution if you have a phone earbuds and watch which means one cable for the lot instead of three which is excellent for many reasons including a messy work top bedside locker and so on and less cables.

Given this is targeted at the Apple ecosystem it can be used with other devices and we have tried a few to be sure it is certainly an one stop shop for most peoples charging solutions without the mess. It is built well and comes with rubber footing a pop out watch stand and is very portable meaning it can be brought anywhere which I did when testing.

This can be also used in a flat state to charge your phone and watch too which is kinda neat and again makes less clutter around you and your working environment, you could also consume media when it is opened fully which again makes it a great multipurpose piece of tech to have at your disposal, there is also LED lights to show you things are all working too..

Overall this is a must have if you have the products to suit I have used this at home in some hotels and a recent trip to Italy which meant for me less cable less hassle and more space so it is a win win for anyone.

EV Software Platform Monta Partners with Smartzone in Ireland to Power Home Charging Solutions

Electric vehicle (EV) charging platform Monta, today announced a partnership with Smartzone, Ireland’s first dedicated smart homes solutions company. The partnership will see Monta and Smartzone provide homeowners and charge point operators a seamless way to manage charging schedules, view consumption data and give charging access to friends, family and guests.

Monta’s announcement today comes as Smartzone aims to roll out 25,000 home charges across Ireland by the end of 2025. From today, Smartzone will automatically connect its charging points to Monta’s back-end software. This will allow Smartzone customers to view their charging history, manage access to the charge point, and set their own pricing and usage.

Commenting on the announcement, Ricky Hill, Country Manager for Monta in Ireland said: “Monta is delighted to partner with Smartzone to help deliver a better, simpler EV user experience for the Irish market. Our combined software and infrastructure solutions will mean charge point operators can manage their installs all under one roof, while EV drivers will benefit from a much-improved user experience via our seamless app. We’re looking forward to helping Ireland complete its journey towards a greener future and help the Government achieve its plans as set out under the recently announced EV strategy.”

BLUETTI To Roll Out New Expandable Mobile Power AC60 & B80 For Outdoor Adventure

BLUETTI, the leader in the clean energy storage industry, will launch its new AC60 & B80, the smallest solar generator with expandability, in mid-May. 

The latest innovation comes as BLUETTI noticed a gap in its market: Though there are many power stations, small ones comes with less capacity while high capacity comes in big and heavy structure. What is the BLUETTI AC60?

The BLUETTI AC60 is a solar generator with a 600W inverter and a 403Wh LFP battery that can add B80 for capacity boosting. With a compact size (11.4 x 8.1 x 9.2 inches) and lightweight (18.9 lbs), it is portable enough to carry outdoors. Water and Dust-proof

Fast Silent Charging

The AC60 supports four charging methods including adaptor, car, solar and generator charging. With a 600W AC Turbocharging, it takes just 40 minutes to recharge AC60 from 0 to 80%. The unit operates quietly at 45 dB, or below 40dB under Silent Charging Mode, ideal in confined spaces such as a room or tent. 

Smart Power-Saving

Featuring advanced ECO mode, the AC60 will automatically shut off to save power if no loads are connected. For powering small loads, AC and DC outputs can be adjusted separately to 10-30W and 5-20W respectively on the BLUETTI App. That can reduce its self-consumption and keep it running for 1-4 hours. Moreover, it has ultra-low stand-by loss when not in use.

What is the B80 Expansion Battery? 

Designed to complement the AC60, the B80 uses the same reliable LFP cells, the most stable and safest battery for energy storage that deliver over 3500 cycles. Two B80s, 806Wh each, can expand the capacity of AC60 to a maximum of 2,015Wh. The B80 can also work as a stand-alone DC power source with three DC ports: a USB-A, a USB-C, and a car outlet. EV Platform Monta Partners with Nevo to Provide Smart Charging Solutions for Apartment Residents

(EV) charging platform Monta, today announced a new partnership with Nevo, Ireland’s dedicated EV marketplace. The partnership will provide smart charging solutions at different residential and commercial sites, with the first installs happening at two separate residential apartment blocks in Dublin. Nevo will use Monta’s platform to manage the charge points allowing end users to benefit from pricing flexibility, accessibility, billing and utilisation features such as queueing, reservations and scheduling.  

Monta’s announcement today comes as Nevo plans to manage and install hundreds more charging points across Ireland in 2023 in response to experiencing a surge in demand for smart charging solutions from apartment complexes, workplaces and fleets across the country.  

Commenting on the announcement, Ricky Hill, Country Manager for Monta in Ireland said: “Monta looks forward to working with Nevo in building a seamless user experience for EV drivers and stakeholders across the country. Tech Review – iWALK 6000mAh power and grip charger for iPhones with MagSafe

Portable power banks are aplenty for the iPhone and with Apple you pay an Apple tax just to have one of their own when there is no need to. This piece of kit from iWalk has well grabbed my attention and costs much less than most ou there and also has two other tricks up its sleeve which is a LED battery status indicator and a finger ring which doubles as a stand and extra security for holding your device too which overall for me is a product that ticks all the boxes and much cheaper than what Apple has to offer.

Yes it is bulky but what other chargers that are similar are not? Not many and not many go this far with the little additions this one has and I love the fact you can see what battery is left too so you know when to top it up and it tops up pretty fast to at that and also comes with 18W charging speed.

You can also use this as a stand for consuming media as mentioned both in horizontal or vertical mode if you wish with no need to remove it and is has also got passthrough charging so you can still use whilst charging which again is great.

Check out the video below for more and do note this is only for a select range of iPhone devices, the magnet is very strong even without the additional pad supplied in the box which is a good thing and you get a pack of templates for all the available phones in the box to align the charger etc.
