How Does React Native App Development Services Sets Start-ups Apart

Start-ups are constantly seeking ways to stand out from the crowd and gain a competitive edge. One avenue that has gained significant traction in recent years is React Native app development services. This innovative framework, developed by Facebook, allows start-ups to build cross-platform mobile applications using a single codebase. React Native has become a preferred choice for ambitious entrepreneurs, but why is it favored by so many start-ups?

The Rise of React Native

React Native has emerged as a game-changer in the world of mobile app development, offering a powerful solution for building high-quality applications quickly and cost-effectively. Unlike traditional approaches that require separate codebases for iOS and Android platforms, React Native enables developers to write code once and deploy it across multiple platforms, saving time and resources.

Faster Time to Market

For start-ups, speed is of the essence. React Native’s “write once, run anywhere” approach significantly reduces development time, allowing start-ups to bring their products to market faster than ever before. With a single codebase shared between platforms, developers can iterate quickly, make updates in real-time, and roll out new features without the need for separate development cycles for each platform.

This agility gives start-ups a crucial advantage, allowing them to respond swiftly to market demands, user feedback, and emerging trends. By getting their app into the hands of users sooner, start-ups can gain valuable insights, validate their ideas, and refine their product strategy to drive growth and success.

Cost-Effectiveness

In the early stages of development, cost considerations are paramount for start-ups with limited budgets. React Native offers a cost-effective solution by streamlining the development process and reducing overheads associated with maintaining separate codebases for iOS and Android.

By leveraging a single team of developers proficient in JavaScript, start-ups can achieve significant cost savings compared to hiring separate teams for each platform. Additionally, the modular and reusable nature of React Native components further enhances cost-effectiveness, as developers can leverage existing code and libraries to speed up development and minimize redundant work.

Seamless User Experience

User experience is a critical factor that can make or break the success of a mobile app. With React Native, start-ups can deliver a seamless and consistent user experience across platforms, ensuring that their app performs flawlessly on both iOS and Android devices.

React Native’s native-like performance and UI elements enable developers to create apps that look and feel just like native applications, providing users with a familiar and intuitive experience. Whether it’s smooth animations, responsive layouts, or seamless navigation, React Native empowers start-ups to deliver a polished and professional app that leaves a lasting impression on users.

Access to Native Features and APIs

While React Native provides a unified development experience, it also offers access to native features and APIs, allowing start-ups to take advantage of platform-specific capabilities when needed. Whether it’s integrating with device hardware, accessing location services, or leveraging push notifications, React Native provides robust APIs that enable developers to tap into the full potential of iOS and Android platforms.

This flexibility allows start-ups to deliver feature-rich apps that meet the diverse needs of their users while maintaining a single codebase. By harnessing the power of native capabilities, start-ups can create compelling experiences that drive engagement, retention, and ultimately, business growth.

React Native app development services offer start-ups a powerful toolkit for building cross-platform mobile applications that set them apart from the competition. With its emphasis on speed, cost-effectiveness, seamless user experience, and access to native features, React Native empowers start-ups to bring their ideas to life quickly, efficiently, and with unparalleled flexibility. As start-ups continue to disrupt industries and drive innovation, React Native stands out as a valuable ally in their quest for success. By embracing this transformative framework, start-ups can differentiate themselves in the market, attract users, and propel their businesses to new heights of growth and prosperity.

Marketers will also benefit from advanced targeting capabilities featuring more sophisticated audience intelligence, segmentation, and attribution that connects campaigns across web and app products, delivering enhanced measurable results for partners.

These new digital platforms and features, coupled with research that shows advertising within news can drive business results, together bolster the opportunity for marketers to reach the coveted BBC.com audience of engaged and informed news consumers. In fact, according to the IAB, advertising in news creates a halo effect, with consumers more likely to consider making a purchase after being exposed to a brand’s advertisement within their preferred news sources. Findings show that 90% of consumers have either a positive or neutral response to brands that advertise within news, while nearly half of consumers find brands that advertise in the news to be more customer-focused and engaging, more innovative, and relevant to them. The study from the IAB reinforces internal findings into the aggregated performance of advertising on BBC.com, which show an 80%+ average lift in likelihood to recommend and consideration across key categories.

BBC.com and the BBC app are the latest step in the company’s ongoing digital transformation, and is supported by its investment in North America, which includes an expanded newsroom that facilitates deeper analysis and local expertise of the regional stories affecting the world. Recently, the company also launched the BBC News FAST channel in the U.S. across leading services, more than doubling the channel’s reach in the region. Ranked as the most trusted news broadcaster in the world, the BBC is driven by its public service mission and editorial guidelines and standards for which the organization is known.

The development and operation of BBC.com and the BBC app is driven by BBC Studios Global Media & Streaming division, which leverages the power of the BBC to reach and engage audiences worldwide. GM&S is responsible for the distribution and advertising of BBC News globally outside of the U.K. GM&S is a division of BBC Studios, the BBC Group’s commercial arm that helps to fund innovation, internationally recognized programming, and the organization’s public service mission.

If you are a Bank Of Ireland customer you may need to change your phone

If you are a Bank Of Ireland customer you might need to upgrade your smartphone to continue to use their digital services, this is because of security reasons and support of older devices which is running older software.

The 31st March is the date given to change your device if you use the app which is not much notice to be honest and for those who like to tamper with their device and use Huawei devices your luck is also out as they will not support either.

BOI says

Device manufacturers regularly update the software and hardware they use. When they do, older operating systems are discontinued, and older software which has become outdated is no longer supported. Apps including ours must stay up to date with updates, so that customers can continue to have access to new and existing features.

Devices supported are Android phones and tablets using Android version 11 or higher and iPhones and iPads using iOS version 15 or above so now would be a good time to go and check if you need to update your device

Mobile Operating System Support Policy

Update your device before 31 March 2024

31 March is a key date for any customer with an operating system on their device that is older than those mentioned below. After this date we will no longer offer support for these operating systems. Importantly, customers will not be able to download a new instance of the Bank of Ireland mobile app again on that device.

Your device may be running on one of the following affected operating systems:

  • iOS (Apple) devices using operating systems 14 and lower
  • Android devices using operating systems 10 and lower

Why updating is important: If your device is running on one of these older operating systems, and you do not update the device by 31 March, the existing version of the BoI app that you use today may not work. If you delete the app, you will not be able to reinstall it on that device. In other words, your phone or tablet will no longer work for mobile banking. The only fix for this is to update your device before 31 March.

Why is this happening? Device manufacturers regularly update the software and hardware they use. When they do, older operating systems are discontinued, and older software which has become outdated is no longer supported. Apps including ours must stay up to date with updates, so that customers can continue to have access to new and existing features.

Devices and operating systems that we support

We support the following smart devices and operating systems only:

  • Android phones and tablets using Android version 11 or higher
Available from the Google Play store
  • iPhones and iPads using iOS version 15 or above
    Available from Apple store

Restrictions

  • Windows and Blackberry phones are not supported.
  • The app is not available for download from the Huawei app store.
  • Biometric login using face or fingerprint cannot be enabled on rooted Android or jailbroken iOS devices, in other words devices where any of the manufacturer’s software restrictions have been removed.

UPDATE 28/8/24  Bank Of Ireland have now said they are extending the date till July 1st if you can’t use phone or tablet you can still access via your web browser or PC with a PSK (Physical Security Key)

New Irish app helps women tackle menopause symptoms

Women will soon have the power to tackle devastating menopause symptoms at the touch of a button through a ground-breaking Irish app. The Menopause Hub App, the first of its kind in this country, includes the latest information and research about the hormonal changes endured by women in their 40s and 50s.

They can also use the mobile app to monitor their own menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms and receive medication reminders. Launched by award-winning specialists, The Menopause Hub, the app is the brainchild of the clinic’s CEO and founder, Loretta Dignam.

She opened her first clinic in 2019 after finding out for herself the lack of help available to menopausal and perimenopausal women – and said the data gathered by the app can be used by researchers investigating future treatments.

“The aim is that the data collected will provide a valuable insight into the effectiveness of current therapies, such as HRT and/or cognitive behavioural therapies, and this knowledge can also be used by clinicians when prescribing treatments.

“Combining the latest technology with up-to-date data about female health will not only improve outcomes for women today, but will also improve the range and impact of menopause treatments available to future generations,” said Ms Dignam.

“There is a myriad of menopausal symptoms which women in their 40s and 50s experience in varying degrees, including insomnia, hot flushes, anxiety, depression, and brain fog, to name but a few.

“Every women’s menopause will be vastly different.

“Some will sail through it, while others will struggle to such an extent that they feel they have to give up their careers or their long-term relationships break down.

“It is, therefore, vital that we gather as much clinical data as we can to help medical researchers develop future treatments.

“For far too long, the impact menopause was having on women’s lives was ignored.

“But women are now demanding – and deserve – more help with symptoms.”

The app was developed by medical technology company Zendra Health, which is helping over 80 healthcare services and organisations across the US, UK and Ireland digitalise their care pathways.

CEO, Thomas Coleman, said that the app was co-designed by women going through menopause and clinical experts.

“Hundreds of thousands of lives across Ireland, male and female, are impacted by menopause,” said Mr Coleman, who co-founded the Dún Laoghaire-based tech firm with his twin brother, David.

“So we were delighted to develop this streamlined digital care solution for The Menopause Hub.

“Loretta is one of the thought leaders in this area and we were guided not only by her expertise but by the expertise of her medical team and by the experiences of their clients.”

The Menopause Hub App will be available to download in March.

Version 1 brings National Museum of Computing at Bletchley Park alive with new AI-led app

Version 1, a leading digital transformation partner and The National Museum of Computing (TNMOC), home to the world’s largest collection of working historic computers, today announced the brand new TNMOC Mate application, designed to transform the museum’s visitor experience for all age groups, cultural origins, and linguistic backgrounds.

TNMOC Mate uses generative AI to present compelling exhibit information in a way that is easily understandable, making sure that the intricate details of the history and future of computing are accessible to everyone.

Exhibitions at TNMOC can be incredibly detailed, particularly as they portray cryptographic machines and the historical development of computers. These exhibits are sometimes more challenging for certain visitors to fully appreciate, including those for whom English is not their primary language, younger visitors, or those with neurodiverse profiles.

TNMOC wanted to avoid any factors that may prevent all visitors from having the same level of participation and worked with Version 1 to create the app, specifically designed for inclusivity in a way that has not previously been explored.

“We chose to work with Version 1 because they understood exactly what we wanted to achieve. As well as having the right advanced technical expertise, Version 1 shares the goal to leverage today’s cutting-edge technology for the benefit of absolutely everyone,” said Jacqui Garrad, Museum Director at TNMOC. “We’re proud to be able to deliver educational opportunities with this accessible tool, immersing our visitors in our exceptional collection. Thanks to Version 1 for realising our vision. This undoubtedly makes us one of the most accessible museums in the world.

“Version 1’s leading capabilities in the use of generative AI, not just for improved, but also more accessible and inclusive user experience means that we are constantly pushing the boundaries to deliver on the expectation of next generation consumer interaction,” said Brad Mallard, Chief Technology Officer at Version 1. “When we worked with TNMOC to shape the vision for the app, we were excited to imagine how we could use the most cutting-edge technology with them, especially given the historic importance of Bletchley Park and its association with Alan Turing and his ground-breaking work on AI back as early as 1935. It truly delivers the inspiration of the museum exhibits in the same degree of vivid and fascinating discovery to every visitor, regardless of who they are.”

TNMOC Mate offers clear directions for seamless museum navigation, facilitated by a persona that the visitor can choose to match their age group and language preference. All the prompts are delivered in the preferred language and enhanced with audio and animated visuals. The app helps users to navigate through the museum using an interactive floor map that highlights exhibit details with simplified text and audio.

The museum will host a relaxed opening and launch of TNMOC Mate today, Wednesday 25th October, at a unique event called “Digital Future Days: Relaxed Opening and Home Educators Day” welcoming visitors to try out the technology and explore the museum in their own way against a tranquil setting.
