Tech Review – Edifier W320TN Earbuds With Adaptive Noise Cancellation And AI Multimodal Adaptive System

The Edifier W320TN Earbuds are the latest on offer from the brand that delivers great audio products at decent prices and we are no stranger to them here and as always look forward to their latest tech when it drops, speaking of their latest earbuds have been here some time now and we have been testing them over the last while and today we will take a look at what you get for your money in a very saturated market.

Packaging is the same as always which is clean and to the point which we like and all is straight forward from there as you will see in the video review below, you get your earbuds, books and cable and you are good to go, there is no tips this time around.

The case is quite nice and will fit any pocket and has a glossy finish that matches the earbuds, I do like the colour here and it is different than the normal black and white colours we tend to see all the time, the earbuds have a small stem with a pinch area on the end, so it is not a touch sensitive area or button which some might need some time to adjust but they work well after a few minutes even for me who uses so many earbuds.

The design is a standard one however the angle of the earbuds is better and fit well in the ears and will not fall out and look nice when worn. Battery life is decent and on par with the company’s suggestions.

When it comes to sound you can only expect decent quality sound from Edifier and this is exactly what you will get here and overall the sound is excellent, gamers can also avail of gaming mode with up to 80ms latency which is now becoming a standard feature, with all the usual testing runs I do there was no lag latency no distortion when maxed out either and all highs lows and mids in all genres, Netflix and movies listen to which makes for a really good audio experience.

The controls have all the options required to save you the hassle of taking out your phone and so on and you can see all this in operation in the full review below and finally for calls these were excellent too with no issues either end on my testing.

Almost two-thirds of digital leaders say AI and cloud investment can increase performance and profitability

Digital leaders are confident that embracing technology across all facets of their business is bringing productivity gains, with nearly two-thirds (63%) surveyed reporting an increase in their profitability or performance by using XaaS in the past 24 months according to the KPMG global tech report. This new report, which surveyed more than 2,100 technology executives, explores the technology strategies employed by organisations across the globe as they embark on the next stage of their digital transformation journeys. It also examines the opportunity presented by emerging technology to drive value and gain a competitive edge during a sustained period of unprecedented market volatility.

Profit, performance and leadership

Respondents see technology investment driving profit or performance improvements of more than 10 percent, up from last year’s most common rate of improvement of around 2.5 percent. Buy-in across leadership for deploying emerging tools and technologies has more than tripled, with the top three areas of investment being artificial intelligence, data and analytics and Xaas.

The survey results about AI echo the anecdotal sentiment among our client base. The biggest threat to many organisations’ digital transformation ambition is linked to poor collaboration across teams, so leadership and management style can also play a key role,” said Liam Cotter, Technology Practice Lead, KPMG in Ireland.

Advancing ESG priorities

Almost half of respondents (48 percent) agree that advancing their ESG priorities will be a primary innovation goal for their technology functions over the next two years; this is consistent regionally with 53 percent in ASPAC, 46 percent in the Americas and 47 percent in EMA.

Achieving short-term goals

Among those leading businesses where investment in technology is driving confidence and profitability most quickly, AI and machine learning are even bigger priorities. More than two-thirds (68 percent) say these technologies will be vital in helping them to achieve their short-term business goals, compared with 57 percent of the total sample.

The biggest threat to many organisations’ digital transformation ambition is linked to poor collaboration across teams – often due to negative work culture and poor communication. Nine in ten respondents think collaboration with the wider business would be stronger if their tech function were more diverse.

Exploring emerging technologies’ potential

This year, 96 percent of the leaders (the top 15 percent of those surveyed) say their technology function can help the enterprise confidently explore emerging technologies’ potential, compared with 81 percent of businesses overall. Two-thirds of these leaders have reached at least the implementation stage on projects connected to emerging technologies, XaaS, data and analytics, AI, and automation, compared with less than half of the total respondent base.

With 72 percent of digital leaders recording improvements in employee productivity from digital transformation, compared with only 48 percent of the other businesses, the potential benefits are huge. Seventy-one percent say they have enhanced customer engagement, compared with 49 percent.

Dell Technologies and University of Limerick join forces using AI to advance predictive and diagnostic cancer research

Dell Technologies (NYSE:DELL) has joined forces with the University of Limerick’s Digital Cancer Research Centre to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) platform and digital twin technology to power predictive and diagnostic research in oncology.

The technology can help clinicians provide more effective cancer care for those with B-cell lymphoma from speeding diagnosis to providing enhanced treatment and improving long-term outcomes for patients in Ireland and worldwide.

Dell created an AI platform for the University that delivers high performance computing power to accelerate oncology and precision medicine research. The platform sits within the Digital Cancer Centre’s multicloud ecosystem. It is powered by Dell’s latest storage arrays and Dell PowerEdge servers optimised for AI to produce cancer patient digital twins for better diagnostics.

With the new AI platform, researchers can:

  • Rapidly accelerate biomarker testing for cancer,
  • Gain a better understanding of how to treat patients with B-cell lymphoma, and
  • Develop personalised therapies based on a person’s tumour characteristics.

By using emerging technologies, researchers at the Digital Pathology Unit at the University of Limerick’s Digital Cancer Research Centre can also better understand the pathogenesis of these malignancies and develop novel therapeutic approaches.

The researchers are particularly interested in the possibility that collagen within the tumour ‘microenvironment’ can cause the cancerous cells to spread around the body and to the central nervous system. Having already identified novel ways to block collagen, the research could lead to new treatments to cure patients before the tumour spreads.

Professor of Molecular Pathology at University of Limerick and Director of the Digital Pathology Unit at the Digital Cancer Research Centre Paul Murray said: “Through our partnership with the Dell Technologies team, we will be able to advance our knowledge of how cells go wrong during cancer development and find new ways to diagnose and treat cancer patients. This is the beginning of a very exciting research project for the team here at the University of Limerick’s Digital Cancer Research Centre, and we’re looking forward to accelerating this project with the digital support and insights from the team at Dell Technologies.”

Catherine Doyle, Managing Director of Dell Technologies, Ireland, said: “The new AI-driven platform developed by Dell Technologies will ultimately help researchers and healthcare professionals deliver precision treatments for patients with B-cell lymphoma by understanding how it develops. Through the creation of these digital twins, the University of Limerick and Dell are taking clinical research to a new level. Together, we are harnessing the power of data through new technologies to benefit patients and healthcare professionals globally.”

Zoom introduces Zoom AI Companion — available at no additional cost with paid Zoom user accounts

Today, Zoom Video Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZM) announced that Zoom AI Companion (formerly Zoom IQ), the company’s generative AI digital assistant, is now included at no additional cost for customers with the paid services in their Zoom user accounts. AI Companion reinforces Zoom’s vision to deliver limitless human connection on one platform, empowering people by increasing their productivity, enhancing their skills, and improving team effectiveness. Zoom also announced today that Zoom IQ for Sales, its conversational intelligence software, will be renamed Zoom Revenue Accelerator.

Since Zoom introduced generative AI in early June, thousands of companies have benefited from free trials of Team Chat compose and Meeting summary. Beginning this fall, Zoom will significantly expand its generative AI offering across its platform with the launch of AI Companion, at no additional cost with paid Zoom user accounts.

Zoom’s federated approach to AI delivers high-quality results and lowers costs by dynamically incorporating its own large language models, along with third-party models such as Meta Llama 2, OpenAI, and Anthropic.

Rooted in this unique approach, Zoom AI Companion delivers powerful, real-time digital assistant capabilities to help users improve productivity and work together more effectively. Zoom customers can expect to see AI Companion throughout the entire platform, from Meetings, Team Chat, Phone, Email, and Whiteboard, with additional features on the roadmap.

“We are transcending the hype in generative AI by delivering tangible products and disrupting the industry’s pricing model, making it easy for businesses and people like you and me to leverage generative AI’s full benefits in our day-to-day work,” said Smita Hashim, chief product officer at Zoom. “We were founded on doing what’s right for our customers, and we firmly believe that offering Zoom AI Companion at no additional cost to our paid Zoom user accounts delivers tremendous value as we all navigate the challenges facing us today. We are excited to see our customers and users start using AI Companion and about our strong roadmap for further innovation underpinned by a commitment to responsible AI.”

How Zoom is Putting Customer Privacy First with Generative AI

Zoom’s goal is to invest in AI-driven innovation that enhances user experience and productivity while prioritising trust, safety, and privacy. In August, Zoom shared that it does not use any customer audio, video, chat, screen-sharing, attachments, or other communications-like customer content (such as poll results, whiteboards, or reactions) to train Zoom’s or third-party artificial intelligence models. Additionally, AI Companion is turned off by default — account owners and administrators control whether to enable these AI features for their accounts. Zoom provides admins and users control and visibility when AI features are being used or activated. By putting its customers’ privacy needs first, Zoom is taking a leadership position, enabling its customers to use AI Companion and its capabilities with confidence.

Modern Work Powered by Zoom AI Companion

AI Companion makes it easy and frictionless to collaborate and become more productive, removing repetitive tasks and distractions, and helping teams collaborate more effectively.

AI Companion incorporates several new real-time AI capabilities immediately, with additional capabilities expected to launch over the next few months. AI Companion is transforming modern work in the following ways:

  • With Zoom Meetings, users can watch recordings faster through highlights and smart chapters, and review summaries and next steps, so they can easily catch up on a missed meeting. In the meeting, if enabled by the meeting host, attendees can catch up quickly without disrupting the meeting flow by discreetly submitting questions via the in-meeting AI Companion side panel to receive an AI-generated answer on what they missed. Post-meeting, hosts can receive an automated meeting summary to share with attendees and those who were unable to attend a meeting. These capabilities help team members who may be in different time zones catch up asynchronously. Planned for spring 2024, users will also have the ability to receive real-time feedback on their presence in meetings, as well as coaching on their conversational and presentation skills.

  • Zoom Team Chat is critical for real-time and asynchronous work, but it is easy to get lost in the volume of messages. AI Companion allows users to quickly draft messages based on the context of a chat thread, as well as change tone and length, so they can spend less time composing replies. In the coming weeks, users will be able to catch up on long chat threads through generative AI summarisation, and by early 2024, users will have the ability to auto-complete chat sentences and schedule meetings from a chat.

  • This fall, Zoom Whiteboard users will get help from AI Companion with generating and categorizing ideas, and by spring 2024, users will be able to harness their whiteboard content to generate images and populate whiteboard templates.

  • Additionally, in early fall, Zoom Mail users will be able to get draft email suggestions. By spring 2024, users will be able to add meeting summaries to Zoom Notes and summarise SMS threads and calls with Zoom Phone

  • In spring 2024, users will be able to interact with AI Companion through a conversational interface that will be able to understand the context of questions and support users with their content across the Zoom platform, such as prior meetings, chats, and select connected third-party apps, even initiating actions on their behalf. For example, users will be able to interact with AI Companion to get help with:
    • Pre-meeting preparation: Ask AI Companion to find the status of key projects to prepare for an upcoming customer meeting. AI Companion will be able to surface knowledge from meetings, chats, whiteboards, emails, documents, and, with users’ permission, from third-party applications on behalf of the user, to provide the latest updates.
    • In-meeting real-time support: Ask AI Companion real-time questions during the meeting to catch up on key points in the discussion, create and file a support ticket on an issue raised during a call, or provide a draft response to a question raised during the meeting.
    • Post meeting: Ask AI Companion to summarize the meeting that was held, automatically identify action items and key stakeholders, and surface the next steps to the relevant stakeholders in Team Chat or, with users’ permission, in their third-party applications.

Easy intuitive interface

Users will be able to access AI Companion from within their existing workflows such as within Zoom Meetings, Zoom Team Chat, and Zoom Whiteboard for capabilities such as Meeting summaries, Team Chat compose, and Whiteboard generation with a simple, easy-to-use experience. Starting now, users can additionally have interactive capabilities with AI Companion via a side panel by accessing these directly within the Meetings experience; this capability will expand across the Zoom platform in spring 2024, as capabilities are added.
