Dexcom selects Ireland for first European manufacturing site in Athenry

IDA Ireland, together with Simon Coveney TD, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, announced today that Dexcom, Inc., a global leader in continuous glucose monitoring for people with diabetes, plans to build its newest global manufacturing facility in Athenry, Galway. The project is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland and represents an investment of €300 million over five years and the potential to create up to 1,000 high skilled jobs over the same period.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said: “Congratulations to all at Dexcom on this move, which is great news for local employment and the local economy in Galway and the wider region, both during the initial construction phase, and even more so thereafter with the creation of up to 1,000 high tech graduate and technician positions expected in the coming years. I was pleased to meet with Dexcom this time last year when I visited their headquarters in San Diego. This will be one of the biggest single private sector investments ever in the West of Ireland.  In addition to the thousand jobs being created by the company, it will bring many spin-off opportunities, jobs and contracts for other businesses in the region.  The announcement that Athenry is to become Dexcom’s first manufacturing site in Europe is very much in line with the Government’s policy of balanced regional development.  It has been enabled by major government investment in infrastructure in the area and a lot of hard work on the part of IDA Ireland.”

Attending the event, Minister for Enterprise Trade & Employment Simon Coveney TD said: “I am delighted that Dexcom has chosen to make this major new investment in Ireland. It’s a huge vote of confidence in Ireland’s significant and growing talent pool and the world-class MedTech cluster that has developed in the West of the country. The very substantial employment opportunities that accompany the arrival of Dexcom in Athenry will be a considerable boost to the West MidWest and Midlands regions.”

Subject to planning permission, the Ireland site will be Dexcom’s first manufacturing site in Europe, expanding upon the company’s existing capabilities in the U.S. and Malaysia. The new facility will have the capacity to produce millions of Dexcom CGM sensors each year, helping to improve the lives of people with diabetes around the world. Subject to planning approval, the new facility will be located on the IDA Ireland strategic landbank in Athenry.

The facility in Athenry will contain a highly automated and efficient manufacturing operation with an emphasis on green technologies. Dexcom expects to provide about 500 construction jobs while the facility is being built and up to 1,000 high tech graduate and technician level positions once the site is running at full capacity.

With the continued success of our Dexcom G7 in Europe, we are pursuing an ambitious growth strategy that requires increased manufacturing capacity to support our rapidly expanding European user base,” said Barry Regan, Executive Vice President of Global Operations at Dexcom. “Ireland has an exceptional talent pool and an established MedTech sector, making Athenry the perfect location for us to establish a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.”

“This is an important strategic investment by Dexcom in Athenry, Co Galway, a regional location that will greatly benefit from the widespread economic and employment boost that an announcement such as this has the potential to deliver,” said Michael Lohan, CEO of IDA Ireland. “Ireland’s track record in attracting MedTech investments from major innovators, speaks for itself.  This latest investment only enhances that further. I wish Dexcom every success with this investment and assure them of IDA Ireland’s continued support.”

In October 2022, Ireland was one of the initial launch markets globally for Dexcom G7, the company’s next-generation CGM system that offers a powerful yet simple way to help people gain greater control of their diabetes. The system’s low-profile, all-in-one wearable sends real-time glucose readings automatically to a compatible smart device* or receiver, no painful finger sticks or burdensome scanning required. Dexcom G7 builds on the trusted performance of Dexcom CGM, which is clinically proven to lower A1C and reduce hyper- and hypoglycemia. ‡,1

Importance of Using an Eviction Notice Template

Landlords in Mississippi and Arkansas must follow strict eviction processes to legally remove tenants from their properties. One of the essential tools they need is an eviction notice, which serves as official notice to the tenant that they must vacate the property. Creating an eviction notice from scratch can be time-consuming, and there is a risk of errors that can result in the notice being invalid. That’s why using an eviction notice template is crucial.

An eviction notice template is a pre-designed form that landlords can use to create a notice quickly and easily. It ensures that the notice includes all the necessary information and is in compliance with state laws. Using a template can save landlords time and money while ensuring that they follow the correct legal procedures.

How to Choose the Best Eviction Notice Template

Choosing the best eviction notice template can be overwhelming, given the numerous options available online. However, there are a few factors that landlords should consider when making their selection.

First, landlords should ensure that the template is specific to their state’s laws. Mississippi and Arkansas have different eviction laws, so landlords must choose a template that complies with their state’s regulations.

Second, a quality eviction notice template should be easy to understand and use. The template should provide clear instructions on how to complete it and what information to include. It should also be customizable to allow landlords to add their unique details.

Third, landlords should look for templates that are up-to-date and compliant with the latest state laws. Outdated templates may not include the latest legal requirements or may no longer be valid.

Top Features of a Quality Eviction Notice Template

A quality eviction notice template should include key features to ensure that it is valid and effective. Here are some of the top features to look for:

  1. Clear and concise language: The notice should be easy to read and understand, with clear instructions on what the tenant must do.
  2. Compliance with state laws: The template should include all the necessary information required by state law, such as the reason for the eviction, the date the tenant must vacate the property, and the landlord’s contact information.
  3. Customizable fields: The template should allow landlords to add their specific details, such as the tenant’s name, the property address, and the lease agreement’s details.
  4. Proper formatting: The notice should be properly formatted and structured, with clear headings and sections.
  5. Professional appearance: A professionally designed template can help landlords create a positive impression and show that they take the eviction process seriously.

The Best Eviction Notice Templates in Mississippi

Landlords in Mississippi must follow strict eviction procedures to avoid legal issues. Here are some of the best eviction notice template Mississippi available for landlords:

  1. The Mississippi Notice to Quit: This template is specific to Mississippi and includes all the necessary information required by state law. It’s easy to use and customizable, making it an excellent choice for landlords.
  2. The Mississippi Eviction Notice: This template includes detailed instructions on how to complete the notice and what information to include. It’s also up-to-date with the latest state laws and requirements.
  3. The Mississippi 30-Day Notice to Quit: This template is suitable for landlords who need to give their tenants 30 days’ notice to vacate the property. It’s clear and concise, making it easy for tenants to understand their obligations.

The Best Eviction Notice Templates in Arkansas

Landlords in Arkansas must also follow strict eviction procedures to comply with state law. Here are some of the best eviction notice template Arkansas available for landlords:

  1. The Arkansas Notice to Vacate: This template is specific to Arkansas and includes all the necessary information required by state law. It’s customizable and easy to use, making it an excellent choice for landlords.
  2. The Arkansas 10-Day Notice to Quit: This template is suitable for landlords who need to give their tenants 10 days’ notice to vacate the property. It’s up-to-date with the latest state laws and requirements and includes clear instructions on how to complete the notice.
  3. The Arkansas 14-Day Notice to Quit: This template is suitable for landlords who need to give their tenants 14 days’ notice to vacate the property. It’s clear and concise, making it easy for tenants to understand their obligations.

Common Mistakes to Avoid When Using an Eviction Notice Template

While using an eviction notice template can save landlords time and money, there are some common mistakes to avoid:

  1. Failing to customize the template: Landlords must add their specific details, such as the tenant’s name, the property address, and the lease agreement’s details. Failing to do so can render the notice invalid.
  2. Using an outdated template: Outdated templates may not include the latest legal requirements or may no longer be valid. Landlords must ensure that they use the most up-to-date template available.
  3. Failing to comply with state laws: Each state has different eviction laws, and landlords must follow them to avoid legal issues. Using a template specific to their state can help landlords comply with state laws.
  4. Failing to deliver the notice correctly: Some states require landlords to deliver the notice in person or by certified mail. Landlords must ensure that they follow the correct delivery procedures to avoid legal issues.

Conclusion

Using an eviction notice template can help streamline the eviction process for landlords in Mississippi and Arkansas. When choosing a template, landlords must ensure that it complies with state laws, is easy to use and understand, and includes all the necessary information. By using one of the best eviction notice templates available, landlords can save time and money while ensuring that they follow the correct legal procedures.

Survey shows 24% increase in IT investment with AI and cloud top of the priority list

A survey from Irish IT service provider Auxilion has revealed that business leaders in Ireland expect to invest an average of nearly €1 million on IT in 2023, with the average IT budget for 2023 expected to come in at €988,726.

This marks a 24% increase in IT investment compared to previous research by Auxilion which showed that C-suite executives were planning to invest an average of €747,071 by the end of 2022.*

The company’s latest survey of 100 C-suite executives in larger companies or enterprises (more than 250 employees) across Ireland, carried out by Censuswide, found that while the average IT investment looks set to rise this year, almost half (49%) of respondents are more hesitant due to economic uncertainty.

However, investment appears to be much needed given that 31% don’t think their organisation is equipped with the necessary processes and tools to support the modern workplace. The leading aims of workplace transformation were revealed as increasing productivity (36%), driving business growth (32%), and improving sustainability (31%).

In terms of the main investment areas for 2023, these will be Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud infrastructure, and IT service desk – each 28% respectively. Twenty-two per cent of business leaders are also prioritising spending across hybrid working technologies, green technology, Robotic Process Automation, and collaboration platforms.

While companies are continuing to develop the modern workplace, hybrid working models are also being reviewed. In fact, 45% said they are planning to reassess their company’s hybrid working model in 2023 and 35% are considering moving to a four-day working week in 2023.

Perhaps this is unsurprising with 45% of business leaders also admitting that the new world of work brings a new level of pressure to their role. Moreover, some 40% do not believe that employees are coping well with the blurred boundary between work and home life which comes with hybrid working.

Commenting on the results, Auxilion CEO Philip Maguire said: “The past number of years have been challenging for many companies and it’s understandable that business leaders might have started 2023 off being somewhat hesitant with their budgets. However, it’s positive to see that organisations are planning to invest more in IT and are open to implementing new technologies to shape the modern workplace.

“With businesses looking to further digitally transform and modernise their operations, while also adapting work styles and patterns, there has been a shift in the provision of managed services enabling greater automation and creating more self-sufficiency. In turn, this will see operations streamlined, people supported, and businesses grow. It will also support innovation and sustainability, which are crucial for the modern business leader.

“While every organisation is different and has specific objectives, all business leaders need to carefully plan their investment in technology. Working with a trusted provider can help on this front in terms of identifying the right solutions and services – from cloud to collaboration – to overcome challenges and capitalise on opportunities.”

How to be your own data security expert in the absence of 2FA

Inspired by the growth of social media subscription models, notably ‘Twitter Blue’, and how they impact user security, Scott McKinnon, Field CISO at VMware explores the critical value in security education for the consumer. As Twitter has locked SMS-based two factor authentication behind Twitter Blue’s paywall, the traditional user without the means or inclination to offer up their cash for subscription perks must now become their own security expert

More than 4.74 billion people worldwide are social media users, according to recent data from Hootsuite. As a source of news and entertainment, its enormous benefits are accessible and essential to our everyday lives, which can overshadow its pitfalls.

As we’ve become more reliant on the internet, people put their trust in digital services, whether misplaced or not, particularly social media. However, consumers who rely solely on social platform providers to protect them against cyber criminals are, perhaps, playing with fate. User experience is changing as social media platforms restructure their business models to grow subscription plans. The full impact of these new revenue drivers is yet to be seen, but the security implications are undeniable.

Due to the alleged increase in bad actor exploitation of two factor authentication (2FA) using text, or SMS, Twitter now limits its SMS-based 2FA services to ‘Twitter Blue’ users only. While it’s reassuring that these platforms are in tune with the attack landscape, this change limits access to full security for those who are without the means or are unwilling to pay for it. Withdrawing access to 2FA from non-subscribers highlights one key change for the masses – we must all become our own security experts.

Peeling back the layers of authentication

Twitter’s decision has come under fire for its security implications. SMS-based 2FA is often hailed as an effective protective barrier to hacker attempts, as it requires a user’s login to be authenticated via a third-party application that we all have access to – our texts. Critics express concern that while the decision to withhold SMS-based 2FA for verified users will only benefit the business by generating consistent revenue, the majority of social media users are no longer guaranteed the peace of mind of encrypted security.

For users who have not opted to pay for the premium perks, having a more secure online experience remains a priority. Social media users must do it for themselves, paying closer attention to their account activity, taking more accountability in their own data privacy, and remaining vigilant of suspicious activity by taking additional measures.

Friend or foe?

A common way for hackers to steal identities is by creating convincingly fake profiles to gain access to personal networks. Unfortunately for many, their latest friend request may look authentic, but it could be a hacker posing as a connection they may or may not recognise. In fact, Lloyds Bank has warned that impersonation fraud on Instagram is on the rise, having increased by 155% from 2020 to 2021, according to This is Money. The average scam resulted in a loss of £336 per victim. Alternatively, hackers are known to pose as a friend having already compromised their account, to send you false links and alerts embedded with malware. By clicking through, you have enabled a hack on your account.

To avoid falling victim in the first place, users must use caution in their digital interactions. My advice is to trust your instincts first and foremost. If something is suspicious, ensure you verify the sender’s identity and resource’s destination before engaging, such as clicking on a video link, and avoid accepting connections from unknown accounts.

Designing your fortress

Hackers also know most people use the same password again and again, which opens you up to other accounts becoming compromised – including your bank account. However, those who use different passwords, introduce symbols and numbers – and not simply your birthdate – across their various sites and apps are much less likely to fall victim to data theft than those who copy and paste their passwords for the sake of ease.

An alternative to creating unique passwords is using a third-party passcode manager. These services generate and store unique and complex passwords for each account with encryption. They often come as a package deal with a mobile device such as Apple Keychain and Google Password Manager or are available for download in app stores.

While these are very simple approaches, they can mitigate the risks of doing nothing if your SMS-based 2FA is withdrawn and are just good security hygiene.

Power in your hands

When we think social media, we think entertainment, and not security. However, we cannot afford to take a back seat to our online security with data key to cybercrime.

Users are more than ever responsible for their first line of defence.

The Benefits of Cross-Chain Trading on a Gasless Crypto Exchange

In the fast-paced world of blockchain technology, cross-chain trading has become an increasingly important trend. Cross-chain trading refers to the ability to trade cryptocurrencies and digital assets across different blockchain networks. This allows users to access a wider range of assets and take advantage of new opportunities in the rapidly evolving blockchain ecosystem. A gasless crypto exchange can provide a number of benefits for users engaging in cross-chain trading.

What Is Cross-Chain Trading?

Before delving into the benefits of cross-chain trading on a gasless exchange, it’s important to understand what this actually is. In essence, cross-chain trading involves the exchange of one cryptocurrency for another across different blockchain networks. This means that users can trade digital assets on one blockchain network for digital assets on another blockchain network without the need for intermediaries or third-party exchanges.

Cross-chain trading is made possible through the use of decentralized exchanges (DEXs) like mangata DEX, which allow users to swap one cryptocurrency for another in a peer-to-peer manner. Because of this, such platforms increasingly attract more and more users.

Benefits of Cross-Chain Trading on a Gasless Crypto Exchange

Gasless crypto exchanges can provide a number of benefits for users engaging in cross-chain trading. One of the main benefits of using such a platform is the ability to save on gas fees. They can be a significant burden for users engaging in high-frequency trading or those who frequently use decentralized applications (dApps).

Gasless exchanges use off-chain solutions to process transactions and execute trades, which means that users can avoid the unpredictability and expense of gas fees. This can make cross-chain trading more cost-effective and accessible for a wider range of users.

Another benefit of using a gasless exchange is increased privacy and security. Traditional centralized platforms often require users to provide personal information, such as their name, address, and identification documents, to comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.

Gasless exchanges, on the other hand, do not require users to provide personal information, allowing them to trade with greater privacy and anonymity. This can be particularly important for those who are concerned about their privacy and security when engaging in cross-chain trading.

Additionally, gasless exchanges can be more accessible to a wider range of users. Traditional centralized exchanges can be difficult to use for those who are new to cryptocurrency or have limited technical knowledge. Gasless exchanges are designed to be user-friendly and easy to use, with simple interfaces and straightforward processes. This can make it easier for novice users to start engaging in cross-chain trading and interacting with the blockchain ecosystem.

Challenges of Cross-Chain Trading on a Gasless Crypto Exchange

While gasless exchanges offer a range of benefits for users engaging in cross-chain trading, they are not without their challenges. One of the main challenges is the limited selection of cryptocurrencies available to traders. Traditional centralized exchanges often offer a broader range of cryptocurrencies, allowing users to trade a more diverse range of assets. Gasless exchanges, on the other hand, may only support a limited selection of cryptocurrencies, which can be a limitation for some users.

Another challenge of using a gasless exchange for cross-chain trading is the potential for increased counterparty risk. Traditional centralized exchanges often act as intermediaries between buyers and sellers, providing a layer of protection and security for users.

Gasless exchanges, on the other hand, rely on peer-to-peer transactions, which can increase the risk of fraud or other malicious activities. This is why it’s important to choose a reputable gasless exchange that has strong security measures in place to protect users’ funds and transactions.

Final Words

Cross-chain trading is a significant trend in the blockchain ecosystem, and gasless crypto exchanges can provide a range of benefits for users engaging in this activity. As the blockchain ecosystem continues to evolve, cross-chain trading is likely to become even more significant for users looking to access a wider range of digital assets and take advantage of new opportunities.

Gasless exchanges are one of the many innovations driving this trend, offering users a new way to engage in cross-chain trading with greater convenience, security, and cost-effectiveness. If you’re interested in engaging in cross-chain trading on a gasless exchange, it’s important to do your research and choose a reputable platform with a strong track record of security and user satisfaction.

Look for exchanges that have a wide selection of cryptocurrencies, strong security measures, and a user-friendly interface. By choosing the right gasless exchange for your needs, you can take advantage of the benefits of cross-chain trading while minimizing your costs and maximizing your returns.

Tips To Find A Job After You Have Been Fired

Finding a job in the highly saturated market is already challenging enough. But if you were terminated from your previous job role, it might be even more difficult.

But whether you were wrongfully terminated and need to seek legal guidance with HKM.com or you were terminated fairly, you’ll need to get back in the game sooner or later.

So, we’ve gathered some of the most helpful tips to help you find a new job after you have been fired.

Streamline Your Job Hunt

Before you start rounding up vacancies to apply to, it’s best to streamline your job search to save time. Otherwise, you will end up applying for vacancies that aren’t compatible with your professional skills and ambitions.

Customize your resume and cover letter, outline your career goals, and research target companies.

Learn New Skills To Boost Your Employability

Upskilling is a great way to increase your chances of securing a new job after being fired. Learning new skills can make you a more competitive candidate, especially if you take courses relevant to your industry or a new career path you’re considering.

There are many online courses, boot camps, and vocational programs that can help you acquire in-demand skills. Texas residents may explore various specialized programs offered by South Texas Vocational Technical Institute, as they provide hands-on training in fields like healthcare, business, skilled trades, and technology. These programs are designed to equip students with the practical skills and certifications needed to enter the workforce quickly and confidently.

Investing in professional development can enhance your resume, boost your confidence, and open new doors to career opportunities. Whether you choose to refine your current skill set or transition into a new industry, ongoing learning will make you a stronger candidate in today’s competitive job market.

Consider Visiting A Career Counselor

You might want to think about a career change if you were fired for reasons that leave you questioning your current career path. But if you don’t have an alternative career lined up, you can consult a career counselor.

These professionals will help you identify ideal career opportunities for your personality and skills. Moreover, a career counselor will also guide you through the process of reaching your new career goals.

Build A Professional Network

Instead of only applying to vacancies online, another way to find lucrative career opportunities is through networking. With a vast network, you will find it easier to access job opportunities aligned with your skills and experience.

The best ways to build a professional network to secure a new job are to use social media platforms like LinkedIn, contact former colleagues, or consider attending relevant seminars and corporate events.

Try To Get A Positive Reference

When modifying your resume to add your previous employment details, it’s wise to add a reference that will speak positively of your expertise as a professional. You might be reluctant to add your previous employers’ contact details, so consider a colleague from HR or a supervisor with a positive perspective of your employment period.

Practice Tricky Interview Questions

Once you have secured a few interviews, you’ll encounter the next challenge of finding a job after being fired; you must complete the interview while carefully avoiding the harsh topic of your termination.

It’s wise to only speak positively about your previous employer; speaking in a negative manner might make you seem sour and disgruntled about the situation. Instead, practice professional answers that settle interviewers’ concerns regarding the termination.

It might be best to suggest that you have varying goals and philosophies and would like to grow your career with a company that can support your career ideals.

While job loss is a devastating experience for most professionals, it’s possible to get back on your feet and find another job, even if you were fired unfairly. Nevertheless, whether you decide to change careers or find a new company, be sure to choose your words carefully during interviews.

Irish Mobile Data Usage Surges 41% YoY

eir, Ireland’s largest telecommunications provider, has reported a significant increase in data usage year on year for Q1 2023 (January 1st through to March 31st) across their mobile network. The eir mobile data report shows a 41% increase in data usage, with each county experiencing substantial growth. County Leitrim saw the most significant growth at 50% versus last year following eir’s investment of more than €2.5 million in Leitrim’s mobile network. While County Westmeath saw a lower growth at just over 22% Cork tops the list for busiest locations for mobile data and voice usage. The findings highlight an evident increase of data usage in each county, showcasing where and how consumers are enjoying superfast connections more than ever on eir’s award winning mobile network.

Cork City is ranked as the busiest voice and data usage location in the country according to the report. Fairhill, Cork is the number one location for voice calls, followed by Athy in Kildare, and Poppintree, Coolock and Blanchardstown, all three in Dublin. Tuam in Galway, Athy in Kildare, the Dublin Airport and Edenderry in County Offaly are the next busiest locations for data usage after Cork.

The mobile data report also reveals increased 5G usage across Ireland, with Dublin Airport being the top site for 5G usage, followed by Mullingar Town Centre and O’Connell St Dublin in third spot. The increase in mobile data usage in Ireland can be attributed to several factors including competitive unlimited minutes and unlimited data tariffs and the increased adoption of 5G enabled devices with next generation capabilities and an increase in data-intensive applications, including video and gaming streaming services.

Susan Brady, Managing Director of eir Consumer and Small Business commented “At eir, we provide our customers with access to world class connectivity, our broadband having recently been confirmed by Ookla to have the lowest latency in Ireland. eir invests more in Irish telecommunications than anyone else, investing €250 million annually in its communications networks, these results are a testament to eir’s commitment to providing high-quality mobile services to its customers, and the company’s investment in 5G technology.

The Q1 data report provides key insights into Ireland’s ever-growing data and connectivity demands, providing invaluable insight on how eir’s customers use eir’s services, helping us to continuously innovate to ensure that we’re consistently meeting our customers’ demands, and keeping the nation connected”.
