One plus have announced that they have launched a case for an iPhone, now this may seem strange and frankly being honest I have to ask WHY? Thankfully there is no invites required either albeit a case the company are renowned for an invite system which has now annoyed many people, myself included, after their first model I thought this system would be scrapped but no…The case is Sandstone which is a feature on the One Plus devices and its actually a nice feel and grippy and makes the device nice to hold..
This has had some folk scratching their heads as to why,They should be focusing on their own customers and products/issues before catering for Apple of all companies, this is probably just another crazy business model just like their invite system (which initially worked then the idea pissed off many after its 2nd phone) and perhaps we will see cases for more devices show up soon..They have to make money somehow right? On the upside though it could be a nice earner for the company if they produce some nice cases for other manufacturers and if the are nice and again priced as this one is which is just €19.99 with free shipping. Oh and you also get an invite to purchase the One Plus X as if LOYAL Apple fans are going to be tempted to switch over…Lets see how this fairs out and what is next…..
If you are a Bank of Ireland customer you should check for a new update, there has been a few new features added to app which will make live that bit easier,as a user myself these are nice additions to see and should be welcome from all users of the app..
New features included in the app are …
Add payees or bills using your smartphone (The first Irish Bank to offer this).
· Display and share BIC and IBAN.
· Enjoy higher quality images on devices such as the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6
· Bug fixes make the app easier and more enjoyable to use
The app does look more refined and current and hopefully more additions will follow suit.
A few months ago we spoke of an app that can do such a thing and its quite a cool idea should you download it,for now the app is just on iOS and will be launching in January 2016 for Android users.
The Architecture of Radio is a data visualization, based on global open datasets of cell tower, Wi-Fi and satellite locations. Based on your GPS location the app shows a 360 degree visualization of signals around you. The dataset includes almost 7 million cell towers, 19 million Wi-Fi routers and hundreds of satellites.
Its approaching the Xmas period now and many of us will eat to our hearts content this festive season and will add a few pounds to our waistlines, soon after we will have the yearly dash to sign up to a gym and 2 months later quit,This happens every year and there seems to be no change, however many now are also a bit concious about the way they look and regularly go to a gym and keep fit..This time of year maybe its a struggle to hit the gym with work hours extending and this can have an effect on interest..

It has been a while since we have seen any branded Nokia handsets from Microsoft and today there is a new candybar styled device announced by Microsoft and it comes in a Dual sim too,its the Nokia 230 and 230 Dual Sim.,priced at $55 it is due to ship in December 2016 and other regions in 2016,these are not the typical plasctic covered devices but sport aluminium casing on the back in silver or dark silver
With a 2.8-inch screen you can play your favorite videos again and again using the video player, listen to radio stations on the FM radio, or use the MP3 player for your personal music library. With memory card support up to 32 GB, that’s potentially a lot of entertainment.
The Nokia 230 and Nokia 230 Dual SIM are also good for gaming. The Opera Store has plenty of games (and apps, incidentally) to choose from, but if you’re looking for inspiration, you can download one free Gameloft game every month for a year. Titles include “Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood” and “Midnight Pool 3.
eyefi is a simple storage solution for your photos, think of the cloud if you will, something most major players in the market are pushing now such as Apple,Microsoft and Google,The cloud is the way forward for some and others have issues such as security which to be fair is a fair point, even myself is a bit weary of cloud storage but now I personally have increased my usage over the last year,I tend to be a micro sd fan and now with more devices loosing this I have began to just autosave to the cloud more..
eyefi comes packed as seen below which contains and 8GB card in our case and a membership card which has your activation code, the card also comes in various storage sizes, also this is cross platform and works on Android,iOS and Windows phone, and Kindle,to begin you get 90 days trial which means you have to sign up,there is also an eyefi pro version too. You get unlimited full resolution photos and up to 300 videos/month for just $4.99/month.
To make it simple you place this card into your camera,it needs to have wifi though and then you can connect any device with the eyefi app and see what’s on the camera roll from any device with the app installed or your PC.Simple enough right!
How it works.
Its simple really it will store, manage and sync your photos and videos in full resolution so it wont downscale as we often see when sharing to social media for example,It works with most professional cameras and Go-Pro etc which have Wi-Fi enabled capabilities, otherwise you can however pop the card into your PC and use the usual methods to share….though the aim of this product is cable free transfer which is more convenient and as we all know convenience wins but for some they prefer to old fashioned way..
Features
CABLE-FREE PHOTO AND VIDEO TRANSFER. Transfer photos and videos wirelessly to your Android smartphone, tablet or computer.
FIND PHOTOS FAST. Photos are automatically tagged and organized by categories: food, nature, sunset, and more and by camera, device, date, location, lens, aperture, speed.
PRESERVE ORIGINAL RESOLUTION PHOTOS AND VIDEOS. All photos and videos are safe, secure and accessible exactly as you shot them—at original resolution.
UNLIMITED PHOTO BACKUP. Store unlimited full resolution photos and up to 300 videos/month for just $4.99/month. Automatic backup to both cloud and desktop secures photos and videos and free up space on your phone.
KEEP ALL YOUR PICTURES WITH YOU. Access all your photos – even your computer stored collection – anytime, anywhere – on or offline.
One drawback I feel needs addressing here is the option to select single images to upload rather than what you take, however you can lock images which is a workaround in the interim…
Its going to be the norm soon like it or not and there is already several apps in the makings that will find the right clothes for you,not only that the right size too,its happening and its happening fast..
DressTime app attended the Web Summit in Dublin and they have sent us over a little bit about themselves and their upcoming app…
“DressTime brings a smarter and optimized way of getting dressed which will save time, money and assertiveness to each user.” Eudes Soudée – CEO of DressTime
DressTime is an application that offers to any kind of user, men or women, from 7 to 77 years old to capitalize with what they already have: a wardrobe which is generally incorrectly filled in, and with too often forgotten items. The app offers on a very easy, fast and fun way, to make an overall picture of his wardrobe in order to solve four key and recurring issues: – How to get dressed? – How to vary my outfits? – What would be the best matches? – What should I buy next? The app offers a real coaching process, further than the simple proposition of outfits. It allows users to combine circumstance, weather and trends. Moreover it helps to save time, and gives self-confidence. Outfits are recommended by a very smart and advanced algorithm that takes into account: current weather, seasons, fashion trends, match of colors plus patterns, activity of the day, and finally the user’s own targeted style.
DressTime is to launch in January on the App Store so until then you will have to wait or you can check out their website at dresstime.io
