Kali Audio HP-1 Multi-Reference Headphones First Look

Kali Audio HP-1, its first ever over-ear, DSP-powered headphone for mixing and QC that provides users with a neutral, accurate representation of their mix, as well as the ability to hear how their work will sound on the most popular headphones in use today and we have these in for review.

The HP-1 has 3 voicings:

  1. Studio: transparent, accurate sound that will translate faithfully.

  2. Bass-Heavy: replicates the sound of headphones that are popular with hip-hop and EDM creators and fans.

  3. Consumer: replicates the sound of popular headphones sold alongside phones and computers.

Users can switch between the three voicings at the press of a button. The LED on the right earcup will change color to indicate the selected tuning, and a voice prompt will also let the user know exactly what they’re listening to.

Check out the first look at these headphones which we really look forward to testing out and if you have any questions drop em in the comments section on YouTube and stay tuned for a full hands on review soon.

A wired connection is available via a 3.5mm jack on the headphone and an included cable. While this will give the highest fidelity playback for serious studio use, Bluetooth pairing is also possible for casual listening on the go.

In addition to its merits as a studio tool, the DSP in the HP-1 allows it to be a fantastic all-around headphone. Features like active noise cancelling, wireless calling, and physical playback controls on the headphones let you take them along with you in your everyday life.

The HP-1 is a closed-back, over-ear headphone with 40mm drivers that support a frequency response of 18 Hz – 22 kHz. The battery supports at least 40 hours of playback on a full charge and can be recharged using the included USB-C cable. The headphones ship in a zippered carrying case that will protect them for travel.

The Kali Audio HP-1 is  available globally now at kaliaudio.com, with an SRP of $199 / £199 / €199.

JMGO PicoPlay Portable Projector First Look

Recently JMGO launched the PicoPlay Portable Projector and as huge projector fans and several in use at the office and in house we had to test this out. Projectors for me are a favourite over a TV and has been for years and this will not change, however the technology is changing in projectors too and becoming more popular. Check out a first look and stay tuned for a full hands on demo soon and not a stock image review with no context.

Designed for seamless usability, the PicoPlay series introduces a simplified control interface featuring an action button for app shortcuts and touch controls for fast navigation, even in the absence of a remote. The auto-keystone adjustment is powered by a gimbal-inspired design that auto-focuses and aligns the image as the projector is tilted or moved. This hands-free calibration ensures instant setup with no manual adjustment required and deliver high-definition 1080P projection using DLP technology, supported by 400–450 ISO lumens of brightness.

This enables sharp, vibrant visuals that significantly outperform conventional 100–200-lumen projectors. Integrated with official Google TV, the projectors offer access to over 10,000 apps and more than 700,000 movies and shows, with intuitive content recommendations and low-lag streaming performance.

Measuring just 85mm in diameter and weighing no more than 0.74kg, the PicoPlay series is engineered for portability. Both models are compatible with JMGO’s Power Bank Stand, a sleek, all-black accessory that functions as a projector stand and provides up to four hours of battery-powered runtime, making the projectors ideal for parties, outdoor events, or movie nights off the grid.

Features

  • 3-in-1 Entertainment Hub: PicoPlay integrates a mini projector, immersive Bluetooth speaker, and dynamic ambient light (Requires Optical Filter) to instantly set the mood for movies, parties, or chill sessions.
  • Power Your Adventures: Connect to a 65W Type-C power bank or JMGO battery tripod (sold separately) for up to 3 hours of video or 7 hours of music on the go.
  • Immersive Visual Feast: Enjoy stunning visuals with 400 ISO Lumens brightness (PicoPlay: 400, PicoPlay+:450), 90% DCI-P3 color, and crisp 1080P resolution—up to a massive 200 inches.
  • Free Angles, Easy Control: Featuring an innovative 88° Rotating Gimbal with high-precision multiple control options and instant App access
  • with customizable Action Button for seamless operation and effortless interaction.
  • No More Wait: FlexiSmart delivers real-time autofocus, auto keystone, screen alignment, and eye protection—so you’re ready to watch in seconds.

WHOOP 5.0 MG First Look

Over the last few months I have been testing out the WHOOP 4.0 and about to drop a review on that soon which comes perfectly timed to test out the new WHOOP 5.0 MG and after using the WHOOP 4.0 I can say it has changed me in several ways including habits which I find a good thing and not only that I did wear this to bed for test duration something I never done even with smartwatches and still do not.

Recently launched the new WHOOP line of products ups the game again and I look forward to getting more in depth insights to my health even with WHOOP 4.o my doctor was impressed with what the device offered.

I have noticed myself more and more people using WHOOP devices some with another wearable device and some not, for me I always have a smartwatch on which is good to compare data and see who offers the most accuracy and having many watches to test against WHOOP and other devices it is handy to have this available.

With ECG hardware onboard, WHOOP MG unlocks features like Heart Screener when paired with compatible bands. The device also maintains 24/7 tracking capabilities—including heart rate, strain, sleep, skin temperature, and more.

WHOOP MG features a compact yet powerful design that’s 7% smaller than WHOOP 4.0, with a matte black finish and brushed metal detailing. It weighs slightly more than WHOOP 5.0 (~27.3 g), due to the conductive clasp required for ECG signal acquisition.

Features

  • EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS INCLUDED: Your WHOOP purchase includes a 12-month WHOOP Life membership, a WHOOP MG device, a SuperKnit Luxe band, and a waterproof* Wireless PowerPack.
  • CONTINUOUS MONITORING: WHOOP continuously monitors your physiological data, including sleep, stress, VO2 max, blood pressure*, and heart health metrics—providing 24/7 insights to optimize fitness, recovery, and overall health.
  • ADVANCED INSIGHTS: WHOOP Life seamlessly integrates total-health screening into your routine
  • ON-DEMAND ECG READINGS: With electrocardiogram readings, Heart Screener detects potential signs of AFib to help you stay informed about your heart health.*
  • FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND BLOOD PRESSURE TECHNOLOGY: Get blood pressure insights*, including systolic and diastolic ranges, and learn about how blood pressure affects your well-being and performance.
