Today more good news surfaces which will delight fans due to seeing this news from other regions.

SonyMobile has partnered with Playstation and  All customers purchasing the new Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact smartphones will be entitled to a 12 month subscription to PlayStation®Plus

Sony will be offering all Xperia customers purchasing Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact handsets a PlayStation Plus 12 month membership (worth €59.99) from launch at no additional cost, bringing them further into the incredible world of entertainment offered by Sony. PlayStation Plus membership gives qualifying Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact owners the ability to access PlayStation Plus benefits including access to online multiplayer gameplay on PlayStation 4, monthly games for PlayStation 4 at no extra cost, and exclusive discounts on PlayStation™Store.

The PlayStation Plus offer will be redeemable through the Xperia Lounge app, which comes pre-installed on all Xperia smartphones.

The XZ2 and XZ2 Compact are available to pre-order ahead of launch on 6th April 2018. Pre-order customers will also receive a free complimentary accessory as pointed out above.

Today is a great day! After several years Sony has finally decided to update their Camera App but for now, just for the Z5 Line-up

The version has jump to 2.0.0

This is something most of the reviewers and users have been begging for since quite a time now, though I personally found the Sony camera UI really clean and simple is truth that now maybe is “too simple”

Well, apparently the complaint made it to Sony’s ears and now we have this.

Now you can now simply swipe to switch between the main camera modes like Superior Auto, Manual, Video and Xperia Camera apps.

 

According to some users the start-up time has been reduce, but apart from that, there’s no such a different in quality or processing speed.

So if you are expecting manual controls like Lumia or LG you’ll have to wait another update (in the best scenario)

As a bonus, we have now check that if you are rocking a Z3+ you’ll also be able to install this new version, but previous generations will need root.

Sony Z5 and Z5 Compact pricing for Ireland. #Sony #Z5

The Sony Z5  and Z5 compact are the next instalments to hit our shelves shortly and pricing has been posted up..As it stands the device will be only available in Black but Vodafone have it in White as an exclusive alongside their Z5 Spectre edition..

Prices at hand are as follows and varies across all networks..

Sony Z5

Billpay –  This will begin at €79.99 and head upwards then to €199.99

Prepay –  Begins at €649,99 and tops out at €729,99.

Z5 Compact 

Billpay – This begins at €29,99 and heads up to €99.99

Prepay – Starts at €499.99 and €619 will be the highest..

 

 

 

Nordic Xperia Z5 Compact pre-orders will get free headphones. #Sony

If your in the  Nordic regions (Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden) and are thinking of buying the Z5 compact you are in for a treat if you pre-order  the phone,however the other two models seem to be left out of the offer which is a nice pair of headphones worth around €110 the SEK 990 which is not to be sniffed at, The promotion is live with select retailers from today to 4 October.

Sony scales back on its waterproof policy. #Sony #Mobile #Waterproof

Sony has numerous devices touting good IP ratings and of course dust ratings but when water does get in this is a problem for users under warranty and devices not being repaired so we can now see the true meaning of waterproof devices,they are not,simple as,flaps not closed correctly,ports,earpiece,mic and so on, water will get in somewhere and even though devices have a rating this depends on how long the device has been submerged,In short I personally would not use a device underwater or in a shower as I do not buy this splash-proof/waterproof jargon.This notice will apply to the Z3+ and the upcoming Z5 ,Accidents do happen I might add and perhaps Sony should allow more leeway..

Your device has an IP rating. This means that under a strictly controlled laboratory environment, the hardware works as designed even after being exposed to specific conditions.

Sony devices that are tested for their waterproof abilities are placed gently inside a container filled with tap water and lowered to a depth of 1.5 metres. After 30 minutes in the container, the device is gently taken out and its functions and features are tested.

If you’re at the dinner table and accidentally spill water all over your device, you don’t have to worry. Just allow the device to dry out completely.

Caught in the rain while waiting at the bus stop? Not a problem. Your Xperia device can handle raindrops falling on your head, as well as your screen.

Do you spend time relaxing at the tub after a hard day at work? Watch a movie on your Xperia device. Just make sure you don’t submerge your device in bath water and you wash off those soap suds when you’re done.

Other ways to use your device

  • When your fingers are wet.
  • In dusty environments, such as a windy beach or when hiking along a dusty trail. Just make sure you wash off all the dust on your device using water from the tap afterwards.
  • Taking photos and movies in wet surroundings. Remember not to use the device underwater. If you accidentally get the device wet with non-fresh water, wash the device with tap water.

Sony have today brought some new handsets to the table as expected at IFA in Berlin.. This time again the camera is a main attraction claiming to have  the world’s fastest autofocus in a smartphone,not only this the new device has a 4K screen to boot a 23 Mp camera, so once again we see the same iterations being the big brother and the compact version so this will suit many fans,currently I use the Z4+ and it has served me well to date… The design language is familiar once again with Sony and they look well,but with screens some see this an overkill,time will tell,but 4k on mobile is here folks.
