Lidl Ireland has reached 100,000 customer registrations for Lidl Connect following an unprecedented response to the retailer’s move into the Irish mobile market.
The milestone means that the first 100,000 customers have now secured Lidl Connect’s €8.99 Price for Life limited launch offer, demonstrating the significant demand from Irish consumers for a mobile proposition combining extensive allowances with market-leading value. With the limited launch offer now fully subscribed, new customers can continue to join Lidl Connect for €12.99 per month at Price for Life, exclusively available through the Lidl Plus app.
Lidl Connect launched on Monday 5th October, bringing Lidl’s long-standing focus on value, simplicity and customer experience into the mobile market for the first time in Ireland. The proposition includes unlimited domestic 5G data, unlimited calls and texts to Irish and UK networks, 50GB of EU and UK roaming data and 100 international minutes per month to eligible destinations, with no long-term contract.

The strength of the launch response reflects Lidl’s wider ambition to deliver more to value for customers beyond the traditional grocery shop, using Lidl Plus to bring together an expanding range of services and benefits in one place.
Speaking following the milestone, Robert Ryan, Chief Executive Officer at Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland, said: “The response to Lidl Connect has been extraordinary. Reaching 100,000 registrations so quickly demonstrates just how strongly Irish consumers respond to genuine value.
“For more than 25 years, Lidl has challenged the Irish grocery market by putting quality and value at the centre of what we do. Lidl Connect takes that same philosophy into a completely new category. We set out to offer customers a mobile plan that was straightforward and highly competitive, and the response shows there is a real appetite for greater value and choice in the Irish mobile market.
“This is also an important milestone in the continued development of Lidl Plus. We want to give customers even more reasons to engage with Lidl and to access genuinely useful services through one simple platform. Lidl Connect is a strong example of how we can leverage the scale of our customer base and focus on value to bring something new to the market.
“We are incredibly grateful to the first 100,000 customers who have chosen to join Lidl Connect, and we look forward to welcoming many more in the weeks and months ahead.”
In addition to Lidl Connect, customers can already access personalised offers and rewards alongside services including OOHpod parcel lockers, pay-as-you-go GoCar and van sharing and Lidl’s deposit return facilities.
The launch also marks another step in the evolution of Lidl Ireland’s customer proposition. Having established itself as one of Ireland’s leading grocery retailers by competing on quality and value, Lidl is increasingly using its scale and digital customer ecosystem to explore new ways of delivering value for Irish consumers.
Lidl Connect is being delivered with 1GLOBAL, Lidl’s global telecommunications partner, with the network in Ireland powered by eir. Customers can access the service exclusively through Lidl Plus using an eSIM or a physical Lidl Connect SIM available in stores nationwide for €0.99 .
