A new concept that brings together the growing YASHICA FUNtastic Keychain Camera collection and reflects the design philosophy behind
What if the camera you carry could say something about how you feel today?
With more new camera designs joining YASHICA FUNtastic lineup, YASHICA unveils the new concept of FUNtastic World, a creative universe behind the YASHICA FUNtastic Keychain Camera series that reimagines the camera as something beyond a simple photography tool. Developed around the idea that people express different sides of themselves in different moments, FUNtastic World provides a framework that connects current and future FUNtastic Keychain cameras through a shared theme of personality, mood, and self-expression.
At its core is a simple belief: The things we choose to carry often say something about us.
From the bags we wear to the accessories we attach to them, everyday objects can become reflections of our interests, style, memories, and personality. With FUNtastic World, YASHICA extends that idea to photography, creating cameras that people can connect with not only for what they do, but also for what they represent.
As the FUNtastic collection continues to expand, FUNtastic World gives each camera a place within a larger universe while allowing every design, character, and collaboration to maintain its own distinct identity.
Why FUNtastic World?
Since the launch of the FUNtastic Keychain Cameras, the collection has grown to include a variety of characters, designs, and visual styles.
“FUNtastic was never just about creating a small camera,” said a YASHICA spokesperson.
“It was about creating something people genuinely enjoy carrying with them. Over time, we saw customers feeling connected with different designs for various reasons. FUNtastic World builds on that insight and gives us a way to bring those different expressions together under one creative concept.”
This inspired a broader idea: The camera people choose can reflect how they feel, what they enjoy, or the side of themselves they want to express.
Built Around Different Sides of You
At the centre of FUNtastic World is the belief that people are not defined by a single personality. The way we feel changes depending on the day, the people around us, and the experiences we’re having: some days feel adventurous; some feel imaginative; some are energetic and social; others are playful, expressive, or nostalgic.
The FUNtastic World embraces the idea that different moods, interests, and expressions can coexist. Within this creative universe, each FUNtastic camera represents a different expression, aesthetic, and personality.
The mindset is not to find one camera that defines yourself – it is to find the one that feels right for you at that moment.
The Four Sides of the FUNtastic World
The FUNtastic World is made up of four distinct personality categories, each capturing a different mood, energy, and way of seeing the world:

Wanderers are drawn to the feeling of setting out, even when the destination is nowhere in particular.

Which FUNtastic Are You Feeling Today?
In the FUNtastic World, these four categories are not boxes that we need to fit into, but simply different sides of us.
And depending on the day, the mood, or the moment, we can be any of them, and don’t have to choose just one side of ourselves – you can be a Wanderer on Saturday, a Dreamer on Sunday, and all Sparks when you’re out with friends!
The FUNtastic you choose simply reflects the side of yourself you want to carry that day. Each new FUNtastic adds another personality, another aesthetic, and another feeling to the universe.
Over time, each camera becomes associated with different memories, experiences, and versions of ourselves.
Different day. Different moods. Different FUNtastic. There is no single FUNtastic that defines you, just the one that feels like you today.
A Different Approach to Collecting Cameras
Instead of encouraging people to find a single camera that defines them, the FUNtastic World acknowledges that people connect with different designs for different reasons and at different stages of life.
Original YASHICA designs and future character collaborations can coexist within the same world, giving people more ways to find a camera that feels like them, or to collect different sides of themselves over time.
In this way, collecting FUNtastic cameras becomes less about ownership and more about personal connection.
A Foundation for Future Growth
FUNtastic World will continue to evolve alongside the YASHICA FUNtastic series, providing a shared creative universe that connects all YASHICA FUNtastic Keychain Cameras.
Future additions will continue to introduce new personalities, aesthetics, and stories, expanding the world while remaining connected through the spirit of FUNtastic.
FUNtastic World. A little world for every side of you.
