Following an overwhelmingly positive response from festivalgoers last year, Three Ireland is bringing back its innovative Friend Finder technology to Electric Picnic 2026, giving even more Three+ customers the ability to locate and reconnect with friends across Ireland’s largest festival.
One of the biggest challenges at any music festival is finding your friends after you’ve been separated in a crowd. Whether it’s a packed headline set, a secret performance or simply trying to pinpoint a friend among thousands of festivalgoers, meeting back up can often prove easier said than done.
Designed to solve that problem, Three Friend Finder, powered by technology partner Totem, uses GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) technology alongside Totem’s Unity Mesh Network to allow friends wearing the devices to locate one another with 1–2 metre accuracy. The wearable guides users towards their friends through a ring of pulsating lights, helping them pinpoint and navigate towards one another within a large, constantly moving festival crowd. The dedicated technology operates independently of mobile service, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, creating a simple, intuitive way for friends to locate each other across the festival site.
Friend Finder forms part of Three Ireland’s most ambitious Electric Picnic activation to date, which also includes Three Ireland becoming the festival’s first-ever Main Stage sponsor, the launch of 3House, Three Charge & Chill, and the return of Three City Stages.
As one of Electric Picnic’s long-standing partners, Three will once again help keep festivalgoers connected throughout the weekend, with the return of the popular Three Charge & Chill area, charging stations, reliable Wi-Fi and exclusive Three+ experiences. New for 2026, festivalgoers can also look forward to exciting additions including 3House and the Main Stage presented by 3, which will host some of the biggest names in Irish and international music.
