Headset and speakerphone manufacturer EPOS, has announced a significant new technology upgrade, to further enhance its ‘power of audio’ ethos and deliver a more streamlined and convenient user experience.
Native Bluetooth certification for Microsoft Teams is now live for the EPOS IMPACT 1000 and IMPACT 500 headsets, enabling professionals to break free from a traditional dongle interface.
To take advantage of the new functionality users need to download the latest firmware from their EPOS Connect app, for a simpler and smoother working world, that’s being hailed as another important EPOS milestone.

Reduced Risk
Native Bluetooth connects a headset directly to a computer or laptop eliminating the need for a USB dongle, whilst maintaining full features. This provides a clutter-free, plug-and-play experience, frees up valuable USB ports and reduces the risk of lost adapters.
In addition, there’s more simplified IT asset management, alongside easier hot-desking, hybrid working and multi-device switching.
“In today’s modern workplaces, flexibility, reliability and seamless connectivity are more important than ever. For users of Microsoft Teams, the audio experience is a key part of daily productivity; clear calls, seamless switching between devices and minimal friction,” says Søren Holm Printz, VP of Strategy & Product Management at EPOS.

“The IMPACT 500 and 1000 devices are engineered to provide the highest levels of call quality and active noise cancellation. With native Bluetooth and multiple connectivity, users can now switch between their primary devices effortlessly, maintaining focus and performance wherever they are working.”
Security Boost
In a further boost, EPOS has strengthened native Bluetooth connection security through Resolvable Private Addresses (RPA). This enhances user privacy by preventing device tracking and ensures that only trusted, previously bonded devices can reliably reconnect. Combined, these changes bring the native Bluetooth experience much closer to enterprise-grade security expectations.
Søren added: “The Power of Audio is our passion and mantra that drives us further forward. Native Bluetooth is another major evolution that simplifies the daily life of professionals especially in hybrid environments, as we continue to push the boundaries of audio innovation.”
