A Beginner’s Guide to Web Proxy Servers

With the recent developments in networking, sharing data and information has taken on a more crucial role, and network security is in charge of ensuring data security while being transmitted. You will learn about one such component of network security for the data and system in this post about the best proxy servers, such as GeoSurf.

Overview: What is a web proxy?

A proxy server is a middle server that obtains information from an online source, like a webpage, on behalf of a user. They serve as extra security barriers for data, guarding users against risky online activities.

Depending on their setup and nature, proxy servers can be used for many different things. Typical applications include making it easier to use the Internet anonymously, getting around geo-blocking, and controlling web requests.

In light of a legitimate concern for data security and network effectiveness, present-day proxy servers perform numerous extra errands and send web requests. As well as filling in as a Firewall and web channel, proxy servers offer shared network connections and data security to speed up routine requests. A solid proxy server safeguards clients and the network from the malignant substance on the open web.

Five Reasons You Should Use An Online Web Proxy

You will learn in this part that proxies can be helpful for practically everyone in a variety of circumstances.

1. Control internet access

Proxy servers are employed in businesses to stop staff members from visiting unsecure websites. They might be utilized to limit employee internet access within the company. Now that you have complete control over an employee’s internet use, you may also restrict websites and content unsuitable for the employees.

These servers can also be used to record the employee’s online activities. You can learn more about your employees’ online activity in this way. Because the employees know that the company tracks and monitors their internet actions, this proxy server feature will help the company avoid breaches and criminal behaviors.

2. Improve privacy

It is challenging for other servers to track your actions when you network with a proxy server and send requests to them. If you used them to access a website, for instance, the website would use your IP address to access it and would not be able to identify your proxy IP address. In this instance, it safeguards your privacy while shielding you from viruses and other hacker-caused data breaches. Your online behavior cannot be tracked or watched by other servers while you are utilizing the server.

Your identity would remain hidden, and your privacy would be improved with the proxy server. You no longer have to worry about being traced or monitored while enjoying superior privacy. Your online identity is no longer visible, and it will also make it easier for you to conduct business discreetly. Due to the fact that your IP address remains hidden, nobody would be able to follow your whereabouts or online activities.

3. Access blocked sites

While conducting internet searches, you may have noticed that some websites’ content is restricted due to geographical limitations or copyright difficulties. The proxy server is mainly used to access sites that are prohibited or restricted. Before granting access to the website, the websites check your IP address for location information and other details. Since no website uses your IP address when you browse the Internet, you are not subject to any restrictions.

4. Improve speed and save bandwidth

Because the proxy server conserves a significant amount of bandwidth and compresses internet data, it might boost internet speed. These servers can free up bandwidth when the network is overloaded due to high traffic volumes, so you won’t experience any slowdowns when accessing the Internet. To boost employee productivity, businesses deploy proxy servers to speed up internet access. With the proxy servers, you wouldn’t experience poor speed or crowded networks. It is the best choice for connections with prolonged loading times.

5. Improve security

As a firewall and filter, a proxy server serves these purposes. The choice of a proxy for data and privacy protection is up to the end-user or the network administrator. In this, the data entering and leaving your computer or network is examined. Then it applies regulations to stop you from having to reveal your digital address to everyone. By hackers or other nefarious individuals, only the proxy’s IP address is visible. No one online has direct access to your personal information, such as files, timetables, or schedules, without your unique IP address.

Conclusion

Proxies can be helpful in a variety of situations, such as helping to avoid listening in on conversations, manage traffic, and get around local and regional restrictions. Additionally, they help with competitor intelligence and account advertising on social media.

To ensure trouble-free functioning, it’s crucial to select exceptionally high-quality proxies. Doing this will minimize the chance of blocking and personal information leaks and may expect top performance.

FANUC opens first dedicated Irish robotics facility in response to growing manufacturing demand

In response to increased demand from its Irish customer base, leading robotics and automation company FANUC will officially open the doors to its first ever dedicated facility in Ireland on 11th October 2022. Located in Maynooth, Co Kildare, the unveiling of the 500m2 training centre and showroom will be overseen by FANUC’s European President & CEO Shinichi Tanzawa in the presence of a select group of local dignitaries, academics, government officials, press, system integrator partners and valued customers.

“We are delighted to announce the opening of our first Irish facility,” states Tom Bouchier, Managing Director of FANUC UK & Ireland. “Not only does it demonstrate our long-term commitment to our growing customer base in the country, but it also enables us to support the government’s aim to place Ireland at the forefront of the Fourth Industrial Revolution by 2025.”

Live robot demonstrations

The official opening will provide the perfect platform for a live demonstration of the recently released LR-10iA; FANUC’s lightweight, strong and compact robot series. Perfect for use in confined workspaces, the LR-10iA is suitable for all types of material handling applications, such as loading/unloading directly in a machine tool, or high-speed picking and packaging directly on a conveyor belt. Visitors to the Maynooth facility opening in October will be able to witness its full range of benefits at close quarters.

As well as the LR-10iA, the new showroom will be stocked with a range of robotics and automation solutions for demonstration, evaluation and test purposes. Latest FANUC innovations on display will include the CRX cobot range, a series of lightweight collaborative robots that boast eight years zero maintenance; and the ROBODRILL vertical machining centre, delivering precision and repeatability making it perfect for fully automated production runs.

Local, on the ground support

The new Maynooth facility will be supported by a five-strong team of dedicated staff with the ability to provide local technical support and servicing, with a view to increasing this into double figures over the next two years. The site will also host organised, in-house training for FANUC’s larger customers and scheduled courses catering for smaller groups; previously, Irish clients would have had to travel to Coventry in England. In addition, the company will continue to develop its strong ties with Ireland’s higher education network, including the Technical Universities.

The drive towards Industry 4.0

Located just 45 minutes’ drive from Dublin and within a 90-minute radius of many of FANUC’s Irish customers and partners, the Maynooth facility is accessible from most of the island in about three hours, making it the ideal location for FANUC’s Irish HQ. Its launch could not be timelier, coinciding with the implementation of the Irish Government’s wider industrial strategy, ‘Ireland’s Industry 4.0 Strategy 2020-2025’. Ireland currently lags behind the European average in robot penetration, with the second-lowest robot density in the EU15 in 2019. However, the Government’s strategy is that, by 2025, Ireland will be a competitive, innovation-driven manufacturing hub and at the forefront of Industry 4.0 development and adoption. With several hundred FANUC robots already installed in Ireland, the new facility at Maynooth means the company is ideally placed to help Irish businesses close the gap and profit from the new opportunities, supported by its network of expert integrator partners.

“The indicators are very strongly pointing towards more investment in manufacturing equipment in Ireland,” says Tom Bouchier. “The country’s technologically advanced, efficient and competitive future manufacturing sector and its supply chain is one that FANUC Ireland will be at heart of.”

Tech Review – House of Marley Redemption ANC 2 True Wireless Earbuds And New App

The House Of Marley Redemption ANC 2 true wireless have been tested out the last while and we have come to our conclusions and for the most it is good and expected from the brand and in true form they turned heads when worn out here locally and this brand does really well here it must be said.

The charging case and earbuds keep the traditional bamboo effect keeps its presence here which is nice and of course the case has wireless charging which is great, but not only that there is a brand new app which is very good and a must have for earbuds in my opinion to give the user more control and of course features which these do.

These have a small stem and fit really well in the ears and of course there is several tips to pick from and it is always important to get the right seal to get the best audio experience and with the new app to test it is vital in this case as it is a good audio experience.

Ok so lets get onto the new app which is great and detailed in the video review below and as you will see packed with options from controls to different audio settings, Here is where I found one issue which I think can be settle with a software update and it is the bass booster setting as it sounded a bit muffled maxed out on volume but the rest worked fine and delivered a great audio experience overall and I can’t fault anywhere else being honest. The controls on the earbuds work really well it must be said.

Seamlessly switch between Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Ambient mode to take control of your noisy environment at the tap of your finger. Enjoy six hours of playtime and three additional charges from the charging case for over 24 hours of listening

Calls are also fine yet sound deep but that is fine and clear both ends which is cool, you of course have access to your voice assistant and you have got ambient controls here too, battery life is decent and in real life usage for me using ANC you can expect 5.5 hrs of time and one thing to note is the notable difference between the sound profiles unlike others which there is hardly any difference between them.

Redemption ANC 2 – techbuzzireland

Overall the audio experience is enjoyable and they work well for gaming and movies too an no lag latency noted either if you are a house of marley fan they should be on your list if you are on the lookout for new earbuds

Esri’s digital mapping system empowers Inland Fisheries Ireland to safeguard marine fish stocks

Esri Ireland, the market leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), is announcing that its digital mapping system is being used by Inland Fisheries Ireland and the sea angling community in Ireland to help safeguard fish populations and protect marine ecosystems. Esri’s ArcGIS system supports the Irish Marine Recreational Angling Survey (IMREC) which aims to estimate sea anglers’ catches in Ireland. Up to 250,000 recreational sea anglers are active along the 3,000km of Irish coastline annually.

Inland Fisheries Ireland is Ireland’s state agency for protecting, managing and conserving inland fisheries and sea angling resources. To meet its EU data collection requirements around species, locations, and volumes of fish caught annually in European waters, Inland Fisheries Ireland saw a need for a collaborative approach to collate its own data with self-reporting by recreational sea anglers.

Turning anglers into citizen scientists, Esri’s Survey123 app has transformed reporting and enables anglers around Ireland to gather and upload real-time information from any device about the fish they catch and release. This information is then automatically transferred to a shared repository, called ArcGIS Hub, where it can be easily viewed by the anglers and monitored by Inland Fisheries Ireland to identify patterns in the species distribution, volumes and weight of fish caught, and estimated catch rates. Whether they are shore anglers, small boat anglers or charter boat anglers, each member has access to a personalised dashboard where they can track their own contributions and angling successes.

Inland Fisheries Ireland has greater control over and confidence in the accuracy and consistency of the data collected, and the system encourages anglers to play an active role in helping to conserve Ireland’s fish stocks. Data is aggregated for reporting and the system minimises manual data entry, is scalable and can grow with the scheme. The EU is particularly interested in data on cod, pollock, sharks, rays, sea bass and highly migratory species such as tuna, but the solution can be configured to capture data on other species too, giving Inland Fisheries Ireland flexibility for the future.

The state agency had success recently using Esri’s ArcGIS system to enable accurate reporting for a catch, tag and release programme for the critically endangered Atlantic bluefin tuna.

William Roche, Senior Research Officer at Inland Fisheries Ireland: “ArcGIS will enable us to recruit anglers as citizen scientists and crowdsource the large volume of data that we require for EU and national reporting. With more anglers collecting data, we will be able to build up a better picture of the state of fish stocks off Ireland’s coast, particularly for anglers. “The personalised dashboards will help to make the recording of data a habitual activity for anglers. We hope they will enjoy entering their catch data and take pride in their role as observers and stewards of Ireland’s fish stocks.”

Schalk Van Lill, Customer Success Manager, Esri Ireland: “We are delighted to work with Inland Fisheries Ireland on this project and enable the ongoing monitoring and safeguarding of fish populations. Our GIS solution has provided Inland Fisheries Ireland with a feasible and affordable way to capture additional data to complement the other data collected for the EU. “Citizen science like this provides broad spatial coverage all around the coastline of Ireland, enabling Inland Fisheries Ireland to efficiently comply with requirements. The solution can be easily scaled up to accept data uploads from more and more participants, allowing Inland Fisheries Ireland to expand the scheme over time.”

10% of Irish adults own cryptocurrency

Cryptocurrency adoption in Ireland has dropped slightly, according to the latest data from Finder.com. 10% of Irish internet users aged 18+ currently own cryptocurrency, down from 12% late last year*.

Men are much more likely to own cryptocurrency. 72% of crypto holders are men and just 28% are women.

Bitcoin (35%) is the most popular coin among Irish crypto owners, followed by Dogecoin (26%) and Ethereum (23%).

Cryptocurrency specialist at Finder, James Edwards, says he’s surprised adoption didn’t decline further given the considerable drop in the crypto market.

“We saw huge drops in the price of Bitcoin at the start of May and June and while we did see a reduction in the number of people holding cryptocurrency it’s not as severe as expected.

“This suggests that while some people have sold, others are holding for the long term or may have actually bought cryptocurrency for the first time at what they consider to be a discount.”

Edwards warns new investors that investing in cryptocurrency isn’t for the faint hearted.

“Cryptocurrency is a hugely volatile industry and you should never invest money you can’t afford to lose. You should also pay attention to the cost of trading to make sure any gains aren’t negated by fees you need to pay as you buy and sell.”

Finder analysed cryptocurrency exchanges taking into account a range of factors like fees, regulation, coins available and deposit methods to name Kraken the best global cryptocurrency exchange.

“Kraken had excellent scores for its comprehensive list of features, value for money and 24/7 customer service, making it a great platform for anyone interested in buying cryptocurrency”.

International and European SEO: What You Need to Know

Mastering your own home country’s SEO is one thing, but to have an international SEO presence, you’ll need an entirely new strategy. It’s not enough to simply translate all your content into a different language – to have your website properly positioned in other languages, you’ll need new keywords and phrases, as well as a good understanding of foreign cultures.

If you’re trying to expand your business to the EU, here’s what you should know about European SEO practices and you could also check out SeoProfy.com.

What is International SEO, and how does it work?

Local SEO services focus on beating your domestic competition in Google searches – but it is not an indicator of how visible your website is on an international level. International SEO aims to create a strong brand presence on the Internet, gathering organic traffic from multiple countries.

European SEO, as the name suggests, aims to conquer SERP positions in major European countries. Google and other search engines match search results to the user’s geographical location and system language – a user from France might see a whole different set of search results than a user from the UK, even though they might be searching the exact same term.

By using SEO and quality content effectively, you can conquer more than one target region at a time – but how?

Differences in SEO across the European Union

Language is definitely the main difference between local SEO and European SEO. Your home country’s language won’t be enough, since if you want to reach foreign markets, you’ll also need alternative language versions of each page and article. However, you should NEVER directly translate your existing content!

Each country and region has its own SEO peculiarities. Different keywords and phrases are popular, and some which might have been powerful in your local SEO might end up absolutely useless for European SEO. When transforming content from English to other European languages, a lot of research is required to pinpoint effective phrases, in addition to a great knowledge of both the source and target language.

Conquer the EU market with a European SEO strategy

For online businesses, European SEO can be a powerful strategy for growing your online presence. More visits from foreign markets means a stronger international market presence and a wider customer base, leading to more conversions. With high-quality, engaging content written in a variety of languages by native speakers, you can not only increase your visibility, but also build brand identity in new markets.

European SEO is multilingual. No matter which markets you want to target, you’ll need a copywriter for each of them. With a European SEO agency like SmartWeb Group, you can have your articles and blog posts written for you by a professional native copywriter and published on high-authority websites that will be valuable assets in your link building strategy. If you want to conquer the European market, always go with reliable and trusted SEO and copywriting agencies.

Here’s How Edge Computing Helps Businesses Thrive

One of our clients said it best when they told us, “Each signal matters.” This client used this phrase to describe the importance and the function of edge computing in a health monitoring edge computing application we helped them construct to support their operations in caring for the elderly. In bypassing the cloud and processing data from wearable devices at the edge, local devices can respond immediately to any change in vital signs and immediately make a call to alert the relevant care professionals. Each signal matters and no signal gets missed.

Unlike cloud computing, edge computing technology handles the data where it is generated. Rather than centralizing in the cloud, it is decentralized. This decentralization allows much less latency and rapid responses to new events. This is why edge computing is particularly appealing to Industries with significant risks, such as healthcare, mining, and extractive industries. If you can’t always count on a stable connection to the cloud, or if you can’t wait for your data to make a round trip into the cloud and back, then edge computing is a perfect solution.

Read on for just some of the benefits that IoT and edge computing can unlock for your business:

  • Monitoring, insights, and intelligent decision-making can all take place in real-time
  • Lightning-fast response to malfunctions, customer requests, or accidents
  • Lower spending for cloud computing and web traffic servicing

Now, we’ll look at several edge computing real-life examples from several industries.

Retail

Traditional retailers can stay relevant and compete against online newcomers by using edge computing to improve their customers’ experience. However, this doesn’t mean that a brick-and-mortar retailer needs to buy and install numerous connected devices in their store instead of a carefully curated stock display. In the world of conventional, real-world retail, real estate is the biggest limiting factor, and space is money. For these reasons, modern iot development services and edge computing solutions combine multiple functions into a single device.

The California-based IT company, Cohesity, prides itself on its data management solutions. It counts a range of high-profile global companies among its clients, with some retailers among them. Cohesity’s devices replace multiple alternative pieces of hardware, enabling retailers to reduce space utilization and free up more room for displaying the products they aim to sell. The data management solution runs on a Point of Sale (PoS) machine with relatively modest computing power and electricity demands. This solution integrates scanner data and weighing equipment data with surveillance footage from the checkout area to improve returns and reduce losses.

Mining

Mining continues to be one of the world’s most hazardous jobs, where inadequate controls or bad data can lead to extremely serious incidents. But setting up Wi-Fi and digital connectivity in underground tunnels and shafts is difficult and expensive. These dangerous and logistically difficult environments mean that cloud solutions simply aren’t the best choice. At the same time, the industry continues to view safe working conditions as a critical goal to work toward, and this goal just isn’t reachable without continued process automation. In many of these remote and hazardous environments, efforts toward automation necessarily imply that devices must collect and process data at the edge and not in the cloud.

Bolodine is a giant among global mining companies. Bolodine recently partnered with Ericsson to digitalize Aitik, a Swedish underground mine. Bolodine’s objective was to begin by automating the most dangerous processes, such as drilling blast holes. Starting by automating the most dangerous processes promised to rapidly and significantly improve safety in a “low-hanging fruit” situation.

Bolodine retrofitted sensors and cameras onto drilling rigs to achieve this objective to facilitate remote control. Edge computing applications now enable these machines to continue their work remotely and autonomously, keeping human workers out of harm’s way.

When it becomes necessary for an operator to modify a work process, they can make the required changes without going into harm’s way, often without even being on site. Edge computing takes human workers out of the physical loop while still keeping them connected through data and controls.

Healthcare

We’ve already briefly mentioned one example of edge computing applications in caring for seniors, but the market for edge computing within healthcare goes far beyond this. In 2021, the American Hospital Association conducted a survey of bedside devices which yielded a staggering total of close to 14 million such devices already deployed. Collecting medical data safely and reliably from all of these wearables and medical sensors is no mean feat. And making effective use of this growing mountain of data while complying with evolving expectations and rules on data security can be even more complicated. Fortunately, edge computing offers an optimal solution for real-time analysis of continuous data flows, even when these take the shape of large files. Plus, it’s a perfect solution for a post-COVID world of virtual visits to the doctor and increasingly sophisticated consumer wearables. Edge computing and IoT allow clinicians to receive accurate and appropriate alerts outside hospital walls and exam rooms.

We’ve got another excellent use case from Barcelona, Spain. In a connected ambulance, onboard medical devices collect and analyze patients’ biometric data and then compare it with their Electronic Health Records (EHR). This data and insights let paramedics determine the best treatment with minimal consideration before reaching the hospital. Personnel within the emergency room also receive alerts about the best preparation for the patient’s care needs.

Construction

Construction companies spend millions of dollars annually on various pieces of capital equipment. However, no matter how much you spend, things can still go wrong, and unnoticed wear and tear can lead to unexpected breakdowns. Because of the size and expense of these pieces of equipment, a single failure can lead to justified panic, extended downtime, and significant cost increases or even overruns.

All these factors help explain why so many construction businesses find predictive maintenance solutions so irresistible and why edge computing is such a critical part of successful implementation in so many cases. These technologies continuously monitor valuable assets, such as mission-critical capital equipment, and then use this data to detect signs of unexpected wear and tear and predict equipment failures. This allows companies to be proactive in their maintenance and to schedule repairs before the failures become catastrophic. This precautionary approach to the health of mission-critical construction equipment helps to extend these valuable assets’ life and dramatically reduce equipment repair costs.

The industrial giant General Electric (GE) is one of the largest and oldest US industrial names. Among its other fields, GE is active in energy production, manufacturing engines, steam turbines, gas turbines, generators, and high-voltage equipment. However, a major problem within its production cycle was equipment health. Due to insufficient controls and data, General Electric couldn’t detect issues in a timely fashion. The result: manufacturing yields fell, and expenses increased in the form of multi-million-dollar scrap costs.

Everything changed when General Electric empowered its winding machines with IoT and edge computing technologies. Now, the deployed edge computing equipment analyzes raw sensor data to rapidly and proactively identify failing machinery. This proactive, efficient, and distributed approach protects the entire manufacturing floor from unnecessary disruptions and production delays.

To Sum Up

Every business wants the best data. Every business wishes it could act and respond to problems in real-time, even when telecommunications equipment is unstable or offline. However, most businesses now rely on cloud-based autonomous systems to perform the analysis and quick decision-making these objectives demand. Can you afford the bandwidth for such significant data throughputs from systems continuously sending raw data over your network? Even more, is this the most efficient way to address this problem, and can this approach remain compatible with evolving rules and expectations on data privacy and security?

Edge computing addresses all these concerns by using real-time data cost-effectively, without transporting it offsite or into the cloud. In edge computing, you can bypass the cloud and do the data processing locally, sometimes on the same device that harvests a piece of data. This approach saves you time and money, helps reduce the risk and compliance cost from possible data breaches, and lets your business move forward with autonomous, lightning-fast, insight-driving autonomous actions. Schedule a consultation with one of our experts today to see how IoT and edge computing can help your business.
