Sony announces the ZV-E10 interchangeable-lens vlog camera

Sony today announced the first Alpha series interchangeable lens vlog camera, the new ZV-E10. Designed from the ground up for vlogging and vloggers, the new camera combines Sony’s advanced imaging technology with extensive usability and a custom-built feature set that is optimised for video creators.

At its core, the ZV-E10 features a 24.2-megapixel (approx. effective) APS-C Exmor™ CMOS sensor and BIONZ X image processing engine to produce high-quality imagery with high-sensitivity, detailed texture depiction and beautiful natural bokeh. Additionally, the ZV-E10 includes the acclaimed vlogging-specific features favored in the popular ZV-1 digital camera including “Background Defocus that can smoothly switch between a blurred (bokeh) and sharp background, as well as the “Product Showcase Setting”mode that allows the camera to automatically shift focus from the subject’s face to an object being highlighted.

“With the introduction of Sony’s first interchangeable lens vlog camera, the ZV-E10, we are excited to meet the growing needs of today’s creators,” said Yann Salmon Legagneur, Director of Product Marketing, Digital Imaging, Sony Europe. “The new ZV-E10 pairs the versatility and excellent image quality of a large-sensor interchangeable lens camera with user-friendly features that are specifically designed for vlogging, making it an ideal tool for video creators looking to transition to a more advanced set up.”

The ZV-E10 features a video-first design in a lightweight form factor (approx. 12 oz. / 343g and includes the popular side-opening Vari-angle LCD Screen that allows creators to connect external mics on top of the camera. This simplifies setup while still allowing users to see the screen in selfie shooting mode and from high and low angles.

In addition to the screen, the ZV-E10 includes several other easy-to-use functions that are specifically designed for vlogging, including a new mode button located on the top of the camera that allows creators to easily change between Still/Movie/Slow and Quick modes with just one touch.

The new camera also includes advanced video features such as 4K (QFHD: 3840 x 2160) video shooting and Slow Motion with high picture quality (FHD 120p) Electronic image stabilisation with Active Mode is also available and delivers stable video recording even while walking and shooting hand-held. Further, the ZV-E10’s advanced AF (autofocus) technology provides fast, precise AF with excellent tracking performance, as well as high quality audio for clear sound recording.

 Sony Vlog Challenge Contest

Together with this announcement, Sony will host their second Sony Vlog Challenge Contest that encourages entrants to create a vlog that highlights something that they are the most passionate and enthusiastic about. The entry period is July 27 – September 27, 2021 and is open to video creators in Europe. See contest official rules here

Creative Versatility

An Interchangeable Lens Camera for Expanded Creative Expression

The ZV-E10 allows the user to expand their creative expression by utilising the ideal lens for each individual scene they want to shoot. The wide variety of compatible lenses in Sony’s E-mount lens lineup lets the user choose the perfect lens based on their creative vision.

Advanced Autofocus

Sony’s industry-leading AF technology enables the user to leave focusing to the camera so that they can concentrate on composing their shot. The ZV-E10 includes Fast Hybrid AF and Real-time Eye AF for video[vi] with Real-time Tracking[vii] that allows the camera to keep track of the subject’s face and eyes for fast and precise autofocusing even while recording on-the-go and in challenging environments. The user can also customise the camera’s AF settings, such as AF Transition Speed and AF Subject Shift Sensitivity, to choose the rate at which the camera shifts from one point to another according to their creative preferences.

Additionally, the ZV-E10’s Touch Focus function allows the user to intuitively set the focus position by simply touching the screen. With one tap, the user can instantly shift the focus position from one subject to another – almost anywhere in the frame. This is available in both still and video modes.

 High Quality Audio

Sony’s leading technology, thanks to its internal Directional 3-Capsule Mic, enables the ZV-E10 to capture crystal clear sound recordings that accurately capture the speaker’s voice and the supplied wind screen to greatly reduce wind noise. For expanded audio options, the ZV-E10 includes a Digital audio interface via Multi Interface (MI) Shoe and a mic jack to connect an external mic. The inclusion of a headphone jack allows the user to connect headphones to accurately monitor sound recordings. Audio output timing can also be set for Live or Lip Sync.

 Putting the Subject First

When shooting in different settings with dramatic changes in light, the user can rest assured that the ZV-E10 will automatically correct the exposure, using an original Face Priority AE (autoexposure) algorithm capable of rapid AE transitions, so that the subject’s face is not over or under exposed. This allows the camera to detect the subject’s face and adjusts the exposure to ensure that the face is depicted at optimal brightness, even when selfie-shooting in scenes with extreme changes in lighting, and even if the subject’s face turns away momentarily from the camera. In addition, the camera features the same advanced colour science from the popular ZV-1 to optimise skin tones for any subject in both still and video modes.

Cutting-Edge Video Features:

  • Internal 4K movie recording through full pixel readout without pixel binning
  • High bit rate XAVC S™ codec at 100Mbps when recording 4K
  • Slow & Quick Motion
  • High-speed full HD recording at 120 fps
  • Interval Shooting for stunning time-lapse videos
  • Hybrid Log-Gamma (HDR) / S-Gamut3.Cine / S-Log3, S-Gamut3 / S-Log3

Designed for Video Creators

Users can comfortably operate the new ZV-E10 thanks to its easy-to-hold body grip and large MOVIE button that is conveniently located on top of the camera.  When paired with the optional Shooting Grip with Wireless Remote Commander (GP-VPT2BT, sold separately), one-handed shooting is simplified with easy to access zoom, record and a customisable button. A recording lamp (tally light) is also provided on the front face of the body for an at-a-glance indication of recording status.

The ZV-E10 features long battery performance with enough power to capture up to 125 minutes or 440 images on a full charge so the user can record for long periods without worry.  When shooting indoors, AC power supplies like the optional AC-PW20AM can supply power, so the user can continue to record without worrying about battery consumption.  Power can also be supplied through a USB Type-C® connector, allowing external batteries to power the camera for extended battery life when shooting on the go. To conserve the camera’s battery, the ZV-E10’s Vari-angle LCD Screen allows the user to put the camera into Power save mode by closing it and instantly turn the camera on by opening the panel.

Stay Connected

Livestreaming

The ZV-E10 can also be used as a high-quality webcam or live streaming camera by simply connecting it to a PC or smartphone for increased mobility while streaming with no additional software needed. The feature allows the user to take advantage of the ZV-E10’s outstanding image quality and crystal-clear audio as well Face Priority AE and Soft Skin Effect while livestreaming or on video calls. The ZV-E10 supports standards used for USB cameras like UVC (USB Video Class) / UAC (USB Audio Class). The ZV-E10 also allows users to connect to a power supply via USB cable while livestreaming for longer usage. For added convenience, the user can assign this function to a custom button to start streaming instantly.

Easy File Data and Transfers

Using Sony’s Imaging Edge Mobile app, users can transfer selected images and video files to a mobile device via Wi-Fi. This also allows the user to transfer RAW image files. After the camera has been paired to the Imaging Edge Mobile app, the files’ location data can be acquired from the mobile device and recorded. Users can transfer files from an SD card in the camera to a smartphone (mobile device) via Bluetooth even if the camera is powered OFF.

One of the best headphones so far this year..

Looking for some new cans that will not break the bank and deliver on sound well the new House of Marley is where to look and not expensive either. Controls are simple to use with raised rubberised buttons and easy to navigate blindly once you get use to them, we go through all this in the video review below and much more.

Build quality is excellent here to with metal cups and I also love how the wood is implemented here to give a nice fresh look and in general a great built quality throughout and as for comfort they also get top marks here with no head clamping felt even on long term use. Overall if you need some new cans you should check these out and check the video below for more…

The powerful photography features have recently become a key part of ZTE Axon series. The ZTE Axon 30 continues this trend equipped with the AI quad-camera, including a 64 megapixel main camera, a 120-degree wide-angle camera, a 3cm macro lens and a depth-of-field lens. Thus, it can allow users to easily play around with various shooting scenarios. It can also support multi-camera simultaneous shooting, providing users with a variety of shooting perspective options. Furthermore, it includes the Super Night Mode function of the camera that can suppress night noise through an AI algorithm that retains more charming night colors for users.

The new camera comes with a variety of classic filters and supports 3D Lut filters for users to customize as they like. Its magic color change function also allows you to choose a single color in the image, while offering more options to change the area you want to change with a different color of your choice. Regardless of vertical grip or horizontal grip, it can prevent hands from blocking the antenna and improve the signal transmission capabilities by 100%. Its unique network detection algorithm can help the phone intelligently identify the best network and realize seamless switching and intelligent acceleration of 5G/Wi-Fi1/Wi-Fi2 channels to ensure quick and stable internet experiences all the time.

ZTE AXON 30

Sleek Design and Sustained Power

The ZTE Axon 30 adopts an ultra-thin body design with a thickness of only 7.8mm and a weight of 189g. This matches the ultra-narrow bezel, double waistline and dynamic streamline aesthetic design to allow the whole device’s appearance to be avant-class, in line with current aesthetic trends.

The new camera area on the back of the device features an iconic LABEL design by creating a unique image fusion technology label. The rear shell is made of 3D composite polymer material with nano-level glow texture overlaid. Nokia launches the XR20 and 6310 and a range of new accessories #NokiaXR20 #Nokia6310

HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, today announces two new phones and a new audio portfolio. Built to survive anything life can throw at you, the Nokia XR20 can withstand much more than you’ll ever demand of it.Nokia 6310 is a new member of the Originals family, a reimagined noughties classic. Today also marks the biggest Nokia accessory launch to date, with new lifestyle audio products streamlined into four distinct lines – Go, Micro, Comfort and Clarity.

Florian Seiche, CEO, HMD Global:

“We are tapping into consumer pain points around durability and longevity. We did a global trend report8 and found that 73% of consumers want to keep their phone for longer and would if their devices were maintained over time. At HMD, we are empowering people to avoid early device replacement and encouraging a more sustainable consumption through our longevity promises.

We are delighted to announce the Nokia XR20 – a life-proof phone with our trademark sleek, Nordic design that we built for both consumers and enterprises.

Today we also grow our refreshed X-series. Our goal is to provide people with products they will love, trust and want to keep for longer.”

Built to withstand the test of life, the Nokia XR20 comes with toughest build and longest support yet

Extreme temperatures, 1.8m drops, 1h under water and more the new Nokia XR20 is built for conditions far harsher than the rough and tumble of everyday life. This life-proof phone is concealed in a sleek, timeless design. So, whilst you’re probably never going to stretch your phone to the extremes of its capabilities, you can be reassured that the Nokia XR20 can endure more than you’ll ever demand of it.

Featuring one of the strongest of screens for extra peace of mind: Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus™ – it’s amongst the toughest of glass out there. To test its durability, Brazilian football legend Roberto Carlos and female world champion freestyler Lisa Zimouche put the new Nokia XR20 through a series of tough tests. From dunking it in icy water to being kicked, flipped and spun screen-first across a concrete gravel football pitch.

Carlos even recreated his famous banana shot from the 1997 Brazil vs France match to test the device’s durability – three Nokia XR20s were positioned on a goal post for the football sensation to hit in a free kick shootout.

Roberto Carlos, Brazil World Cup winner and Real Madrid legend, said: “I’ve been asked to recreate my ’97 free kick many times over the last twenty years, but never like this before, so I had to accept the challenge. Surely a mobile phone couldn’t survive the wrath of a football. I didn’t think the Nokia XR20 could have withstood the power of my kick. I may not be professional anymore, but I know I still pack a punch, so it was an impressive result.”

Future-proof means freshness that is not just for the day you unbox your smartphone. Supported by an attractive ‘4-3-3-1’ promise, the Nokia XR20 comes with four years of monthly security updates, three years OS upgrades, and an extended three-year warranty. If the unexpected does happen, it also comes with one-year free screen replacement.

The Nokia XR20 has a reliable 48MP+13MP dual camera with ZEISS Optics, OZO spatial audio and innovative imaging solutions. The all-new SpeedWarp mode lets you capture a whole lot of adventure in a compact, exciting montage. Pushing the boundaries of the mid-range, it also comes with 5G speeds, 15W wireless charging and superior durability that you’ll love.

Awaken the noughties love with Nokia 6310

The newest member of the Originals family celebrates the iconic Nokia 6310 with a fresh new take. The Nokia 6310 is a classic reimagined for today’s connected user. Bringing advanced accessibility, optimised ergonomics, and battery for weeks, it honours everything that Nokia phones stand for. And yes – it still has Snake.

With accessibility at its core, the refreshed larger push buttons and ample display make screen time more effortless and enjoyable. The new zoomed-in menus and larger font options improve readability and text messages can be listened to for ease of use.

New Nokia lifestyle audio accessories that people will love, trust, and keep for longer

  • Micro: meeting the demand for compact form factor
  • Comfort: a result of consumers seeking optimal comfort in wearables

Alex Lambeek, Global Head of Accessories, HMD Global: “Much like our smartphones, the excellence in Nokia accessories is a result of industry-leading testing for quality. The invaluable insight from our Nokia smartphone community combined with regional insights across the globe, has allowed us to grow our ecosystem of companion products to an impressive portfolio. Kefron survey reveals majority of businesses planning for a partial return to office

Leading Irish document and information management provider, Kefron, today announced the results of its ‘2021 Smarter Office Survey’, revealing how Irish businesses are navigating the challenges of adapting their offices to the realities of the post-COVID environment.

The survey carried out in May of this year revealed that 79% of businesses were planning for only a partial return to the physical office in the recovery phase of the pandemic, with only 2 in 10 businesses currently seeking to fully return to the office in the coming months. When reflecting on the experience of a year of remote working, 38% of business reported seeing no change in productivity, 36% seeing an increase and 26% seeing a decrease.

In light the continuing demand for flexible working arrangements post-COVID, almost three-quarters of respondents agreed that accelerating the move to a smarter office, which enables employees to work from home or in-person, will be crucial to their organisation’s future success.

According to the new survey, the main obstacles facing businesses in reframing the role of the office this year include a continued leadership focus on mitigating the short-term challenges posed by the pandemic (35%), outdated work practices (23%), an absence of a digital strategy (12%) and a lack of in-house skills and expertise” (8%).

In embracing the potential of the smart office, business leaders expressed a range of priorities for the remainder of 2021. 28% of respondents agreed that maintaining a connected workforce will be their top priority, while 26% said that simplifying processes and work practices within the office will be the number one concern. This was followed by driving business efficiencies (13%) and improving productivity (12%).

Paul Kearns, Managing Director of Kefron said: “Our survey findings indicate that the Irish business landscape is going through a major transitional moment, especially with regard to how organisations think about the physical office. With the vast majority of businesses preparing for a partial, rather than full, return to the office, it’s now clear that the office will no longer confined to just four walls. It is becoming a hybrid space where employees can access information from any location securely so they can do their best work. At Kefron, we believe we are seeing the emergence of a smarter office fit for the future.

Business leaders voiced a number of concerns about the future of a smarter office, especially as it relates to employee collaboration and the threat of cyber-attacks. Going forward, the challenge for organisations of all sizes will be to develop robust systems that increase efficiency, reduce environmental damage, meet the needs of employees and customers alike, and protect their data from various existing and future risks. These concerns should be at the heart of each business’s plan as they embrace the smart office in 2021 and beyond.”

Other key findings of the survey include the following:

  • 78% of respondents said they were “more concerned” about the risk of fraud and cyber-crime since embracing remote work arrangements. 12% said they were directly affected by fraud incidents in the last 12 months.
  • 4 in 10 respondents said that their digital documentation and record systems were inadequate at the beginning of the pandemic.

Tech Review – Google Pixel Buds A-Series #Tech #Google #TeamPixel

When the pixel buds launched last year they were very well received and what was most striking about them was their size and shape and then once worn the fit was also great, they were called mints etc but does that matter if they sound good and look good and don’t stand out like some earbuds do? Not in my book and they only got better as time went on too making them an easy recommendation given they are seen as pricey they still remain in my top 5 earbuds today. So how can the new A-Series come in at half the price and stack up to last years? Well they do it and are a real challenger to what Apple have done with the new beats studio buds and still coming in cheaper.

You do get some omissions though for the price you will pay but if you are not fussy with these omissions you are onto a winner here and you get great value for money in this crowded market but the A series hold many of the previous models traits you would be hard pressed to spot the difference between both unless you are a tech head.

This time around they have a glossy finish rather than matt but this is fine, there is no wireless charging which might be a deal breaker for some especially those who invest in wireless charging and the gestures and volume control are gone but this can be addressed with the Google Assistant which is always on by the way..There is still one more bearbug though and that is the lack of ANC.

When it comes to sound they pretty much sound the same as before which is certainly most welcome here so you do not loose out on the sound quality and also the connection issues have been addressed, you also have the pixel buds app to tune things to your needs which is great and it is a great app it must be said and nice and clean.

The big question here overall is and after my testing which overall for me are easy to recommend is the price worth it, they are comfortable, they lack ANC and have average battery life for what is out there today but if you can live with some compromises they are for you but if you want some more they are not but this is where you end up paying more they are a case of you get what you pay for but some more but there is alternatives out there with cheaper but some not well known brands however these are worth the 99 euro price tag overall for me, See the video below for more..

Bumble Predicts a ‘Bank Holi-dating’ Boom in Ireland #Bumble #Dating

New research from Bumble, the popular women-first dating app, shows that this July is due to be the most popular time of year to date for Irish people, with 54% of singles lining up dates to take place over the August bank holiday.

Bumble have coined this dating revival ‘Bank Holi-dating’, as singles across Ireland look to make use of the bank holidays to meet new people.

The research found that over half (54%) of Irish singletons are busy lining up dates to take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, with a quarter saying that the bank holiday is the best time to go out on a date.  Keen to make up for lost time, 39% aren’t even waiting for the long weekend to head out to meet someone new, they are already plotting and planning.

The great news is that the vibes are good . 38% are feeling optimistic about dating, 36% say they are excited, and over half, (55%), feel that things have evolved so much now in Ireland that there will be less judgement about meeting people from dating apps as restrictions ease. So it seems that friends and family mean a great deal to us (even if some have spent a LOT of extra time with family this year!). However, over half of those surveyed said they would cancel on friends and family to go on a date, with pretty much all other European countries saying they would, according to Bumble’s research.

Ready to live life to the fullest, almost half (46%) would meet up with potential love interests after two weeks of talking, with men much keener to meet up sooner than women. Women want to spend more time getting to know the person before meeting than men do. Thanks to Bumble’s video dating feature, it looks like the video dating that took place during covid is here to stay?

After three lockdowns, single Irish people are calling on the powers that be to lend a helping hand when it comes to finding love this summer. Over a third (36%) say that work should give a free half day on the Friday before the bank holiday, and another one in three want more holidays during the summer to give them enough time to socialise and go on dates.

When it comes to dating, singletons are dating once more, 54% saying they go on 1 or 2 dates a week.

Naomi Walkland, Bumble’s Head of UK and Ireland said, “Last year, ahead of lockdown fully lifting in June, we saw people using the Bumble app more as they got ready to date again. This year, we think it will come a little sooner with people looking to make use of the two long weekends in May to meet new people. We anticipate that Bank Holi-dating will be the biggest dating trend, with people looking to take control of their dating lives this spring and make up for lost time ahead of summer.”

As people look to date more over the bank holiday, tips from Bumble show how you can make your Bumble profile stand out and help you bank holi-date over the long weekend.

  1. The best photos are recent and show a slice of your actual life; if your dog is the center of your world, include a cute snap of you and the pup. And the more photos, the better. Top photo suggestions are showcasing your everyday life and selfies (62%) and getting dressed up (31%). Research also shows since 2020 we have seen the decline of the gym snap… finally

  1. Opt for what you do want vs. what you don’t. It’s also a good rule of thumb to avoid including what you aren’t looking for (e.g., “not seeking anything serious” “no drinkers”). Instead, reframe your bio to emphasize what you DO want, like casual dates with fellow sober folks. Including things you could potentially have in common provides people with the tools to make an informed decision and also helps start a conversation

  1. Take advantage of the badges on Bumble to add details while saving precious bio space. Adding a Badge to your Bumble profile – like if you have pets or your zodiac sign – is super easy and increases your chance of matching by up to 70%*. If you’re looking for a serious relationship you can also filter potential matches to streamline who appears for you
