Equinix, Inc. the global interconnection and data centre company, will host an event at 17:00 on Thursday, 22nd February in the Guinness Storehouse, St. James’ Gate, Dublin 8 to announce the expansion of its Internet Exchange (IX) to Ireland.
As IP traffic driven by cloud, mobile, IoT, video, gaming and data analytics continues to grow, the need for networks to exchange traffic, or “peer,” is accelerating. IX enables organisations to cater to this digital demand through interconnection with rich ecosystems. At this Equinix-hosted event, attendees will learn more about how Equinix is building a globally consistent Interconnection Fabric by launching Equinix Internet Exchanges in six new European cities, including Dublin.
Maurice Mortell, managing director of Ireland and emerging markets, Equinix; Michael Winterson, vice president, regional business development, Equinix; and Herbert Preuss, global solutions architect, Equinix, will discuss the growing and evolving need for interconnection and why an updated interconnection model is required. They will provide attendees with an introduction to the Equinix IX expansion and also explain how companies can take advantage of the new opportunities offered by this global platform.
Attendees will also have the chance to take part in a peering technical workshop covering a number of topics including Dual IX peering in local metros and the benefits of a campus-peering model.
The seminar will be followed by a reception which will offer excellent networking opportunities with business-owners and industry figures. Equinix executives and a number of Equinix’s Irish-based customers will also be in attendance. Admission to the event is free. For more information and to register, please visit: http://bit.ly/2EyKc0W
