Sounds a bit futuristic but yes its true… Swedish pharmacy Apotek Hjärtat has launched an app to assist people with pain relief, Now before you get too exited it is not there to replace traditional cures but places you in an immersive environment to  to distract you from pain although the environment is somewhat cartoonish.. You will see what I mean when you try it out but yes its immersive… The app is available on Oculus Rift,Gear VR and Android.

This app includes a beautiful stylised camping environment where one can interact with nature and experience the changes from sun to rain and day to night. Guided relaxation and soothing music is optional. Every unique experience is highly individual. To select items you just hover over items are you would normally do and watch what happens then.. It is somewhat a soothing experience but nonetheless a good idea..

Created as a joint venture between Sweden’s largest private pharmacy, Apotek Hjärtat (who will use it in selected clinics) and VR therapy startup Mimerse, Happy Place was built upon the research findings indicating VR as a possible tool in mitigating pain.
