3DRi – A headband camera, good idea making you look stupid? #3DRi #Camera

The world of tech can be wonderful and at time rather odd and in some cases utter stupid, this idea might just fall into the latter but lets take a look, and if you don’t mind walking around with a headband with a camera on your forehead well its for you I guess, but from my point of view you would look like a complete plank, then again you could be a trekkie and look cool, for now its just launched on Indiegogo and time will tell if its a hit or miss…

You will get the idea now below..

This gadget has plenty of features in fact just about the same as our mobile phones only akin to a retake of Google Glass which failed its light, portable and small not heavy and sports a camera, flash micro sd support,a mic, bluetooth USB support and it is social media friendly too what’s not to love here?? Watch the video below..

The idea is good, but we have Go-Pro OK its bigger also better quality but its not intrusive, imagine someone coming up to you with this staring at you,NOT FOR ME,Yes it has a plus side,it frees up your hands and does all the work for you but the problem I have here is how the person looks wearing it… Another good thing is for perhaps driving or cycling it could capture accidents, but we have dash cams now and of course Go Pro…

For now im optimistic what do you think???

The big question is WHO IS NEXT?

Nabi Compete – Fitness tracking for kids. #Fitness #Kids #Wearables

Fitness tracking is popular everywhere and fitness trackers outdo smart-watches in popularity although they have now morphed into one with the latest smart-watches that are now available today,But fitness tracking for kids? Typically this area would be more towards older folk from late teens and upward,so is getting kids into this realm at young age a good idea, perhaps not but this means access to an app too and again kids with smartphones is another problem, there is many this age with mobiles but then the parents can also monitor from their own device. Nabi also have other tech on the market for kids such as tablets, headphones and jukeboxes..Given you can lockdown phones and tablets and assuming most parents are aware it can be done this could be a great idea..

Jim Mitchell, CEO of Fuhu, said, “As we enter the wearables market, we wanted to find a way that would really utilize technology to help parents encourage their kids to get active in a fun way, not in a way that would be perceived as being a task. To that end, in designing nabi Compete we looked closely at what keeps kids engaged with gaming, social interaction, friendly competition and performance rising to the top of our list. With the launch of nabi Compete, we believe we have developed a product and platform that will excite kids, get them active at an early age and fuel their interest and awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and personal fitness.”

nabi Compete comes packaged with two kid-friendly bands that can be linked by downloading the nabi Compete app to open a first-of-its-kind, fun-filled competitive gamified approach to activity tracking. nabi Compete keeps kids motivated to encourage activity at an early age by competing against friends or family members in achievable real-world inspired challenges and garnering appealing rewards for completing tasks. nabi Compete is now available at Target and Best Buy for a suggested retail price of $39.99 for the 2-band packs.

SteelSeries Siberia Raw Prism gaming headphones review. #Gaming #Headphones

Last week we received the Siberia Raw Prism gaming headphones to try out and they impressed me considered the price which can range from €49.99 upward..

I am a huge headphone fan and like to try out as much as possible,in my personal collection I have about 15 pairs of various headphones from all brands,The SIBERIA RAW PRISM have been mostly comfortable to use, light and gave no problems during the week, gaming is not really a huge thing I do these days but when I do I use headphones to have not only peace and quite but quality sound to immerse myself into the actual game itself or the music I might be listening to.

Presentation of the package..

Presentation was just as you would find most headphones with  very descriptive  information on the exterior of the box,on the inside though its just moulded plastic to house the contents which is the headphones and an information leaflet, pretty solid enough though and the package arrived fine..

Connecting to PS4/PC and you can also use on mobiles with USB OTG Support..

Connecting to your PS4/PC is simple and takes seconds and away you go,sound from these when playing games is quite good and makes the game more enjoying to use no matter what, sound was crisp and clear not too loud with control options using your controller, the same can be said for mobiles with USB on the go support,if you have the USB OTG cable its plug in and listen as you would your typical 3.5mm and no loss of sound quality was noticed here either and listening to music on your device was a pleasure and comfortable..Sound and illumination colours can be customised from your PC after downloading some software.

Design and quality.

You have your typical design here and there is plenty of comfort with a non sweat experience around the ears, they have a mesh like material on the cups rather than leather, they keep in the noise and you can wear for hours,on the headband also a mesh like material was present again making them comfortable to wear for long periods of time without getting that sweaty feel. The cups have a small amount of play in them which is fine although some like that bit more but there is enough wiggle room to keep you happy, both sides had extending slots which to me might seem a little on the weak side and longevity would be something I would be concerned about but this again is down to the user and how rough they are and how you look after your product, for me its not a problem as I have several pairs of headphones up to 6 years old and they are still like new…

The left cup is where you can control the mute button which is done by just tapping the outside of the cup,its a simple process and works without fail every time, also present on the left is the mic that is not so obvious its a mic, which works fine too and perfect for gaming with others and again sound is crisp and clear, the both cups illuminate via LEDs with millions of colours (you need to add some software to get them, steelseries engine) and this shows others that they are in use, take it as a warning sign that you are busy when you see them lit up if you will and for the gamer all they do is tap the cup and this will disengage the sound,Sound overall is pretty good with two channel stereo it will not suit all but overall the sound quality is more than acceptable at its price-point..

The Pros – Affordable,Good sound,Comfortable,Light.USB OTG devices support them.

The Cons – All plastic, wear and tear a factor for mesh and extension arms,USB connection only but they work on USB OTG supported devices.Customize sound and illumination preferences.

You can buy from Amazon or direct from SteelSeries

Meet the @TAGHeuer Connected #Smartwatch By @VicenteA_George #Android #ConnectedToEternity

This is not the first time we told you about this, back in February we first hear the rumors of a TAG Heuer Smartwatch

But this week that has become reality with the new TAG Heuer Connected

Imagining all the expertise and vision of one of the best watch manufacturer in the form of an smartwatch is not a dream anymore thanks to this beauty, As reported by James Hampton-Smith of SpotTheWatch, “many prestigious watch brands today are honing into the needs of the modern-day luxury watch collector.”

As we were expecting, it resembles the traditional Carrera timepieces, the Connected being made out of Titanium Grade 2 is to the ignorant eye a normal and beautiful watch.

Take a look

Sporting a 1.5-inch Scratch Resistant Sapphire Crystal circular touchscreen display with 360 x 360 pixels (240 ppi). Powered by a dual-core 1.6 GHz Intel processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the device is totally cover by today standards.

All this backed up by a 410 mAh battery which (according to TAG Heuer), should provide “minimum 25 hours of battery life, based on typical usage.”

The TAG Heuer Connected is also IP67 certified, is you’re familiar with the Xperia Line from Sony you know this means dust and water proof.

The watch can be paired to handsets running Android 4.3 or later and iOS 8.2 or later thanks to a proprietary app

This is practically everything we’ve been waiting on a Smartwatch, but comes with a cost, and what a cost! The smartwatch is not a dream anymore thanks to this beauty.

The TAG Heuer Connected can be yours for just $1,500, easy right?

If you really wanna have the “Vertu” of the Smartwatch world you can order one HERE

What do you think of think? Is it really worthy to spend an small fortune to get something not so different in specs of what we already have? OR having 150 years of experience backing the watch makes you have a second thought?

Google maps plays catch up with HERE maps, use offline. #Maps #Navigation

Google Maps is good to be fair and they have been around along time now and they now have introduced offline mapping which means you can save a pocket load on Live maps or when using for navigation,HERE maps however again come up trumps here as this feature has been available from the off and works great too,I would use both and have been testing them side by side for some time now and still find HERE better for navigation purposes and more, but that’s my view to be fair. Both can fail at tasks equally with one been victorious and one not.

For those that use Google Maps will be happy though with this feature which should have been there way before now, using maps on your device will eat data and can land you with a hefty bill if not careful,so for now you can download off-line maps and not fear risk of a hefty bill especially when roaming on or holiday as people do..

Google say on their blog..

Now you can download an area of the world to your phone, and the next time you find there’s no connectivity—whether it’s a country road or an underground parking garage—Google Maps will continue to work seamlessly. Whereas before you could simply view an area of the map offline, now you can get turn-by-turn driving directions, search for specific destinations, and find useful information about places, like hours of operation, contact information or ratings.

You can download an area by searching for a city, county or country, for instance, and tapping “Download” on the resulting place sheet, or by going to “Offline Areas” in the Google Maps menu and tapping on the “+” button. Once downloaded, Google Maps will move into offline mode automatically when it recognizes you’re in a location with spotty service or no connectivity at all. When a connection is found, it will switch back online so you can easily access the full version of Maps, including live traffic conditions for your current route. By default, we’ll only download areas to your device when you are on a Wi-Fi connection to prevent large data fees.

Welcome to the party Google Maps but you are late..

Get an iPhone 6 with a retro look if you have wads to spare. #iPhone6

Apple fans be like the best fans in the world and cant take the heat when it comes to brawls vs Android and so on,its true don’t argue with me on this, personally I am not the biggest Apple fan in the world and that’s just my preference but this idea is quite cool and gives you iPhone 6 the retro look but will cost you a pretty penny but Apple fans will do it make no mistake..

Custom phones are cool and often they cost double the price,In this case it does but it actually looks nice, yes you heard me say that correctly,BUT I would not be paying double the price to give my phone that retro look would gladly accept it for free though..

Colorware are now offering this retro mackintosh look but prices are expensive,If you really like your phone that much you will do it,starting from $1600 up to $1900 depending on model.

Would you fork out for this custom kit?
