Spellings for Me Unveils Enhanced Global Learning Platform

Spellings for Me, a personalised spelling programme has successfully rolled out Version 2 of its platform, marking a significant milestone in its mission to transform spelling education worldwide. The upgraded platform, developed in collaboration with TEKenable is using Artificial Intelligence to improve success through a personalised learning experience automatically tailored to each pupil’s needs.

Originally designed for primary schools in Ireland, Spellings for Me quickly gained international traction as teachers relocated and continued using the tool abroad. However, the platform’s initial design revealed limitations, including Irish-accented audio files, lack of advanced reporting tools, and scalability issues. To address these challenges, TEKenable has evolved the platform into a robust, future-proof solution.Version 2 offers 10 proofed accents allowing each school chose the voice that best suits their learners.  All AI generated and more can be added with ease.

Over 90,000 pupils per year are enjoying Spellings for Me, with steady annual growth.   “The international growth potential of this platform has been greatly enhanced by TEKenable’s use of AI to enable regionalisation resulting in sign-ups from International schools in 25 countries since the launch of the revamped platform,” states Paddy.

The rollout of Version 2 has been met with resounding success, with schools across multiple countries adopting the platform,” says Paddy. “Many of the Version 2 adopters teach English as an Additional Language, and Spellings for Me is now live in international schools across Spain, Finland, Greece, China (Wuhan), Hong Kong, France, Germany, Portugal, Japan, India, Jordan, UAE, Sweden, Egypt, Ghana, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Chile, Uruguay, Turkmenistan, and more. Wherever pupils are learning English, Spellings for Me,  with its multi-accent support and research-backed content, continues to meet learners’ diverse needs in classrooms around the world”.

A new homeschool version has also been introduced, allowing parents to purchase the programme directly.

“Spellings for Me supports students worldwide, including EAL learners and international schools, with a tailored spelling programme designed for diverse learning needs,” adds Paddy.  “It allows teachers and parents to monitor their growth over time, building confidence and motivation.”

Spellings for Me is currently collaborating with TEKenable’s AI division on a built-in AI reporting engine.  Soon, teachers and parents will see an “AI-Insight” button beside each student with the inclusion of AI to recognise patterns that may suggest the pupil has learning differences e.g. early flags for potential learning differences (e.g. dyslexia risk) not a formal diagnosis, but a prompt for further assessment.  This will help ensure no child ever slips through the net for dyslexia.

“When we set the Spellings for Me challenge, TEKenable always exceeded our expectations.  No problem is too big.  They have never let us down, they’re just so competent.” concludes Paddy.

The project’s impact was further recognised when Spellings for Me was selected as the Tipperary representative for the National Enterprise Awards 2025.

TEKaviation Announces AviTalk, its AI Solution for the Aviation Industry Invests €1 M in AI development

TEKaviation, the dedicated aviation division of TEKenable, has announced AviTalk, its AI solution for lessors, airlines and MROs that allows users interact directly with their data.

TEKenable has invested over €1M in AI development and in the AviTalk product they have created which is a generative AI solution providing users with a ‘subject matter expert’ on their assets and contracts.

AviTalk enables users to directly interrogate their technical, legal and financial documentation to retrieve specific information, removing the requirement for storing information in an intermediary lease management system. Users from all business departments can seamlessly interact with all documented data instead of relying on traditional gate keepers of the information and legacy systems which are restricted to a predefined number of curated fields.

AviTalk improves accessibility to data, generating increased organisational efficiencies while also ensuring improved accuracy of information by accessing the source data directly and removing the potential for human error. Every additional Avitalk license provides organisations with an additional subject matter expert.

AviTalk leverages advanced AI capabilities to enhance data understanding and retrieval. By utilising both semantic search and keyword search, AviTalk can accurately identify and extract relevant information from vast datasets. This dual approach ensures that users can find the precise terms and insights they need while also having the comfort of getting citations and hyperlinks to the source document so that the information can be verified, making AviTalk a superior tool for comprehensive data intelligence.

AviTalk can read, understand and interpret text, handwritten notes and images. It is a communication platform that supports over 90 languages, enabling users to receive accurate and contextually relevant answers in their preferred language.

“Only 20% – 30% of all data is recorded in systems, the rest is locked up in documents. We developed AviTalk to enhance aviation leasing via AI”, explains Aidan Bodkin, Managing Director, TEKaviation.  “This conversational, multilingual AI solution will give users more choice and control over their businesses by improving efficiency and productivity.  It is a dedicated 24/7 subject matter expert on their data”.

AviTalk can perform complex mathematical calculations, such as interpreting formulae and determining rental fixings.  As an AI agent, it operates 24/7 with no downtime, ensuring continuous availability and reliability.  Users can ask questions directly to their documentation, bypassing the need for specialist CMS knowledge.

Irish Motor Insurance Database Implemented to Help Detect Uninsured Vehicles and Drivers – Each year insurance claims for uninsured vehicles cost €60-€70 million

The Motor Insurers’ Bureau of Ireland (MIBI) in cooperation with Insurance Ireland, An Garda Síochána and the Department of Transport, has implemented a central insurance database which is referred to as the Irish Motor Insurance Database (IMID) which will help identify uninsured vehicles and drivers. This database is underpinned by Legislation under Section 78A of the Road Traffic and Roads Act (2023) which requires all insurers to provide motor policy information to the database.

TEKenable, MIBI’s solution provider, working closely with the insurance industry, through Insurance Ireland and the MIBI, identified the need to provide an efficient and cost-effective solution for insurers and the Gardai to meet the obligations placed on them by the legislation.  Tekenable designed and developed the Irish Motor Insurance Database (IMID) which will assist the Gardai in enforcement of the insurance requirements in the Road Traffic Act. This will ultimately help to reduce uninsured driving which in turn will reduce premiums and help to improve road safety.

“In Ireland, it’s compulsory for all vehicles to have motor insurance.  If any person suffers physical injury and property damage that’s caused by an uninsured vehicle, MIBI will deal with the claim and pay compensation to the victim.  MIBI, as a not for profit organisation, is financed by levies on the insurance industry. These levies are ultimately paid by law abiding insured motorists with €30-€35 included in the premium paid by drivers,” explains Tom O’Brien, Technical Claims Manager at MIBI.  “This puts an extra burden on law abiding drivers and motor insurance companies while the person with an uninsured vehicle attempts to get away without paying anything.”

The IMID integrates with the underwriting platforms at approximately 40 insurers and collects data on a nightly basis from each insurer. This data is processed overnight and then shared with An Garda Síochána who make it available to front-line Gardai via their internal systems and mobility devices. The MIBI also plans to share the data with the National Vehicle & Driver File (NVDF) at the Department of Transport.

The IMID is one of the largest financial services databases in Ireland today as it contains details on over 3 million vehicles and over 5 million drivers that are insured to drive those vehicles.

The complex and sensitive data in the database will allow Gardai, the Department of Transport and the MIBI to see real-time insurance data pertaining to motor vehicles and their drivers.

“The new system delivers a secure database that connects insurers, MIBI, the Department of Transport and the Gardai, giving them highly secure access to motor insurance data at any time,” concludes Tom.  “The data in IMID facilitates live access to insurance data by Gardai at the road side through their mobile devices.  This is a gamechanger as it allows the Gardai to check the insurance status of both vehicles and drivers that they have stopped.  This will help reduce uninsured driving and improve road safety.”

Urgent Need for Improved Data Utilisation Across Businesses, from SMEs to Corporations, TEKenable Survey Reveals

A TEKenable survey, in collaboration with Microsoft unveiled the urgent need for improved data utilisation across businesses, from SMEs to Corporations.

This survey examined the understanding, challenges, and implementation of Customer 360 across diverse organisational landscapes. The survey involved 201 SMEs and Corporations, with varying proportions across management levels and industries.

The survey results illuminate nuanced perspectives between SMEs and Corporations and disparities across management levels regarding the benefits of addressing challenges associated with the Customer 360 view.  SMEs, constituting 60%, exhibit a stronger belief in the significant contribution of Customer 360 to enhanced customer engagement while Corporations, at 40% are more sceptical, potentially influenced by the complexity and costs associated with implementing and maintaining Customer 360.

Management levels further reveal varying degrees of recognition, with the C-Suite and senior management holding a more positive view than first-line managers, emphasising the need for comprehensive education and engagement strategies.

The types of data used in business also vary, the survey found.  SMEs predominantly used transactional data (27%,) less frequently employing behavioural (10%) and demographic (8%) data.  Contrastingly, corporations showed a more varied usage pattern, with behavioural data (20%) and demographic data (10%) being more prevalent.

SMEs found Customer 360 most beneficial for financial decisions (77.8%) and service excellence (64.3%).  Customer 360 helped SMEs make more informed financial decisions by providing insights into customer behaviour, preferences, and spending patterns which helped to optimise pricing, marketing campaigns, and product offerings to improve profitability.  It also provided better customer service by providing a single view of each customer’s interactions with the company.

Corporations attributed significant impact to data-driven insights (63.2%) and campaign effectiveness (100%).  Customer 360 provided corporations with a wealth of data that was used to gain deep insights into customer behaviour, preferences and trends.  It also helped them measure and optimise the effectiveness of marketing campaigns by providing data on customer engagement, conversion rates, and ROI.

Concern about the need to protect data is also acting as a barrier to the adoption of Customer 360 with 58.3% of SMEs seeing data security and compliance as the main challenge while 41.7% of corporations identify it as the primary obstacle.

The lack of a single customer view is a significant challenge for SMEs, with nearly half (43%) of respondents identifying it as their primary challenge. Corporations als find achieving a single customer view a significant challenge, with over half (57%) of respondents identifying it as a major issue.

“From SMEs to Corporations, the imperative for improved data utilisation isn’t just a matter of growth – it’s about staying relevant in an increasingly customer-centric landscape,” explains Nick Connors, Group CEO at TEKenable.  “While our research shows that investment in Customer 360 is rising, education and engagement strategies need attention.”

A further issue identified by the survey was a widespread inability to make data-driven decisions.  66.7% of SMEs say this was their main challenge, while 33.3% of corporations share this view.

TEKenable Launches Chat With Your Documents and Invests €250K in Helping Companies Unlock the Full Potential of AI

TEKenable has invested €250k in developing Chat With Your Documents, the company’s customised application designed to use AI to unlock business value.

“Up to 70% of corporate knowledge is locked up in documents (unstructured data), not in formal databases like ERP and CRM, and search is not sufficient to unlock it,” explains Peter Rose, CTO at TEKenable.  “We developed Chat With Your Documents to solve a real business problem: every research report, sales proposal, strategy, product or project document contains valuable institutional knowledge that is progressively lost from an organisation as people leave, and this information is very hard or even impossible for new joiners to acquire.”

Chat With Your Documents makes this information accessible and offers the capability in two different forms, one for internal use, to support staff with their day-to-day tasks, and one that is externally facing, to help customers, for example, better understand a company’s products.

The customised Azure-based AI application – Chat With Your Documents, uses the latest Azure OpenAI technology, guarantees privacy and security and is GDPR-compliant.

TEKenable’s solution analyses documents, extracts key information, and provides valuable insights and information in a collated response that answers questions with a response that blends the relevant content from multiple sources into coherent answers. The advanced natural language processing capabilities allows our software to understand the context of queries.  It can comprehend complex questions, handle follow-up inquires, and provide accurate responses, ensuring that you get the information you need, even in a dynamic conversation.

Chat With Your Documents can stand-alone or seamlessly integrates with existing line of business systems ensuring institutional knowledge is accessible at all times.

“Chat With Your Documents is the result of TEKenable’s objective to seamlessly integrate artificial intelligence in the most effective manner to provide cutting-edge tools, as the process of evolution is ongoing and unceasing,” concludes Peter.

“Using Chat With Your Documents allows users to experience innovative work efficiency by obtaining comprehensive information from previously unusable corporate knowledge.”
