Fujifilm launches the instax Link WIDE Smartphone Printer #instaxLinkWIDE

FUJIFILM Corporation announces the much-anticipated launch of its instax Link Widesmartphone printer (Link Wide), the latest in the instax line-up of instant printing devices. Built to complement the successful instax mini Link smartphone printer introduced in 2019, Link WIDE creates the ability to print images in a large format, on instax WIDE instant film, a first for the brand’s smartphone printer category.

“This product came to life thanks in part to tremendous positive feedback from our instax and photographer communities,” said Toshi Ida, President FUJIFILM Europe. “After enjoying all the image printing capabilities available from the instax mini Link, so many of our consumers reached out, enthusiastically requesting an instax WIDE photo print option as well, in order to print their smartphone or digital camera images on a larger scale. With its updated features and ease-of-use, we’re confident that Link WIDE will delight our consumer base while satisfying their desire for a wide option for printing images taken on smartphones or digital cameras.”

Link WIDE creates high-quality, wide instax instant prints from the photo roll on a smartphone via the free instax Link WIDE App (required for full functionality), connecting with the printer via Bluetooth. The App provides users with a variety of fun and creative features and options in printing their smartphone images, and Bluetooth allows a quick and seamless transfer from the phone to the Link WIDE printer. In addition to smartphone compatibility, Link WIDE is also compatible with the FUJIFILM X-S10 mirrorless digital camera, allowing photographers to send their images directly from the camera to the Link WIDE printer.

The main features of Link WIDE include:

Lightweight design built for portability and speed

Surpassing the functionality offered by other smartphone printers in its class, the lightweight, handheld Link WIDE transfers an image and starts the print in about 12 seconds, supports continuous printing, and is capable of generating about 100 instax instant prints per battery charge. Link WIDE provides two printing modes; instax Rich, accentuating deep, warm colors, and instax Natural, which emphasizes the inherent tones of the image.

Dedicated Link WIDE app designed for intuitive operability

The Link WIDE App has been designed for ease-of-use with a variety of useful image printing options. The App features editing tools including cropping, approximately 30 filters, collage capabilities, adding text to the printed image, as well as in-app stickers and frame templates. Additional App features include:

  • Sketch, Edit & Print – import sketches and handwritten text, add them to photos, add sticker icons, and print.
  • Printing photos from videos – select a frame within a video and print it.
  • QR Print Mode: add a QR code to scan with a Smartphone to your photo, with the ability to:
    • Record sound
    • Link to a website
    • Tag your location on the print
  • Record a hidden message

New film variety available

Also accompanying the launch of Link WIDE is the new instax WIDE Black instant film, a new contrast on the traditional white-bordered look. The stylish black border provides eye-catching contrast against the printed images. instax WIDE Black instant film will be available in a single pack with 10 exposures.

New instax WIDE accessories available

The instax Link WIDE will be complemented by a number of snappy accessories to help users share their favourite instax photos in creative ways.

What Makes A Perfect Photo? Here Are 4 Main Rules

Since time immemorial, pictures have been a way to keep memories, record historical occurrences and big events that did happen over time. Pictures play a massive role in narrating history. After all, the famous quote that a picture says a thousand words.

Today, photography has seen a lot in terms of production quality due to technological advancements. Innovations have led to having tools and equipment that weren’t in existence a couple of decades back. From cameras with great clarity to the introduction of digital photo editing tools, every picture you take is quality.

What Does It Take to Capture a Good Image?

Telecommunication companies like Samsung and Apple have realized the preference chase and continue to pamper their new gadgets with pixels upon pixels in-camera lens quality and abilities. One look on Instagram, and you will be amazed by the photos these phones can take!

But taking a quality picture, good camera or not, takes a good photographer. You see, photography is about capturing that best moment that wows everyone. You should showcase the best photography that resonates with the viewers. As a photographer, you need to have the skill to be professional in taking pictures. You can use a AI image Upscaler to enhance visuals, ensuring crisp and high-quality imagery.

A photographer insurance is also a crucial tool in your toolkit. It’s essential to protect not just your creative talent, but also your equipment and potential liabilities, ensuring you’re prepared for any unexpected challenges that might arise during your photography journey.

With the ever-growing sector of influencer marketing, social media has become the new marketplace. Photography can enhance your following and even earn you good money. But how can you bank six figures if your pictures look like sculptures?

Qualities of a Good Picture

A good picture is not any picture. It is taken with consideration and art and must have some qualities to qualify it as a wowing piece of art. There is a science that must be in place to produce a magnificent display.

  • Timeless Effect

A good photo should spruce the aging process associated with time. It should be relevant all the way through. It will need to respond to the acceptance now and in the future. A picture taken in world war two is still relevant today. Now that is timelessness.

  • Storyline

As a way of wordless communication, a picture should leave the viewer with answers, not more questions. There should be a why, where, and when scenario happening in the viewers’ minds. You don’t want them to be looking for an explanation from neighbors.

  • Self-dictating

These other supporting captions act as explainers of place and time to the main event happening at the center of the image. You can use a professional image background remover to ensure the focus remains on the subject, eliminating any distractions that might take away from the core story. The background should complement the subject and enhance the overall message the photographer is trying to convey.

  • Content Suitability

It’s your mandate as the photographer to control the narrative. Let your viewers get a clear message that suits them.

  • Emotion

Everything that human beings do is from a place of emotional drive. Your picture impacts more when it has a tag to the human side of people, being compassionate.

Rules of Making a Perfect Photograph

Have you ever seen those low-quality blurry pictures on someone’s timeline? You skipped them right away because they didn’t appeal to you. You may have the best camera lens in the world, but without skill, you lose. Here are some elements that help you get that clear shot in one go; the four main rules of making the perfect picture:

  • Have Good Lighting

There is a reason why photographs taken in the daytime are way better in clarity than those taken at night or in a gloomy place. The secret? Light. Make sure that when taking pictures, there is enough light to make the object be seen. If the natural lighting is unavailable, like at night, use a photography light to expose the image and capture it more clearly.

  • Control The Exposure For Clarity

To take an image, the sensor of a digital camera or the film of an analog camera absorbs light. The amount of light required in a photograph is referred to as exposure. There is no specific set of exposure that pictures have; it is all dependent on the overall objective of the caption.

  • Composition Of The Photograph

A picture’s wow moment is dependent on the timing of the photographer. An image of racing bikes mid-air is refreshing to watch than a picture of the same bike on the ground parked. An image should have a theme, and the caption should speak it louder than the periphery. The chosen image shot should push for attention. You ought to stage it so as it communicates as intended.

  • Have The Right Color

A picture should have a well-balanced coloring. This allows it to perceive well with the viewer and show the realness of the caption. You can adjust your white balance in the camera’s settings. Alternatively, to check if the color effect of your camera is true, check a white background. If your camera picks white as white in real life, then you can go ahead and take the amazing memories.

It may take several tries to take that perfect photo. Even pros in this industry take several shots to best capture the moment. Have a good eye and quick finger to notice when to take a picture or strike a different pose.

Tech Review – FujiFilm Instax mini 40 camera. #FujiFilm #InstaxMini40

I am not a huge camera fan and I hardly use a proper camera if you will I have always been one to use my mobile phone and this was due to Nokia devices such as the Lumia 1020 for example and it pretty much has been the same since until Nokia/ Microsoft left the scene then I moved onto other devices and back to Nokia branded devices when HMD took the helm. I hold a huge collection of these phones and other brands and they have been pretty much the staple for photography and video for me and I know many others in the same boat and it will always be that was since mobile phones have got so good with their cameras.

I am a retro fan and collector when it comes to many things in life, phones is my main favourite then trainers and watches and I have amassed a huge collection over the years and these still grow today and this is why I like the Instax cameras and this model in particular even more so. These cameras are a niche product but a large niche and I can see why people love them, The INSTAX SQUARE SQ1 MINI LINK and MINI LI PLAY are previous models I have tested and have went down really well with 85K views alone on You Tube and over 250K site views combined which shows there is interest in these products and I can understand why and that is from someone who is not a DSLR/Camera fan to begin with but understands the technology behind such but they just never appealed to me but these cameras do.

It is a big camera lets not mistake this it is cumbersome you have to carry film with you it will take up room in your bag but the thing is you get your images there and then, when was the last time you actually went and got films developed?? Go on I will wait for that answer..  We are so immersed in our mobile phones today and even before the pandemic struck I really cant remember when I seen someone with an actual proper camera in their hand apart from tourists on O Connell st bridge and they where huge DSLR cameras and they both tie in together here when it comes to size but the outcome is different.

Ok so the deal overall here is this is a retro camera that takes decent images pending the conditions and it is a simple click and go, no messing around with settings like your phone or standard camera and so on, I find that things closer to the lens come out better and sharper and bright conditions the best but for a night out or a trip to the park or sea this is great for getting those family shots etc, the only caveat here is that film is expensive and at times images can get blown out but it is a really nice camera to have at your disposal and is fun to use and most importantly you get a credit card sized photo there and then rather than having to wait for them to be developed.

The Revolutionary Apple M1 Chip has Boosted the Efficiency of DxO PhotoLab 4’s DeepPRIME Technology by Leaps and Bounds

DxO PhotoLab 4, the world’s most advanced photo-editing software in terms of image processing launched two months ago, lets users harness the full potential of the new Apple M1 chip powering the latest generation of the Mac Mini, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro. The newest version of the software, DxO PhotoLab 4.1, also offers better colour control through its improved HSL tool and support for five new cameras.

Three to Five Times Faster Performance Compared to the Most Recent 13” MacBook Pro and Intel Mac Mini

The architecture of the latest Apple M1 chip has been optimised with image processing and artificial intelligence algorithms in mind. It’s only natural then that the extraordinary image quality made possible by DxO PhotoLab 4’s DxO DeepPRIME image processing technology is now dramatically more efficient on the latest generation of Mac Mini, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro.

Users can now process their images three to five times faster compared to the most recent 13” MacBook Pro and Mac Mini for nearly half the cost—and in silence. Images are exported at 1.5 mpix/s, which is faster than the previous version of DxO PRIME. In fact, the Apple M1 chip greatly reduces the time it takes to complete all edits. Because the technology applies a denoising and a demosaicing algorithm simultaneously, the quality of photos (including low-ISO images) processed with DxO DeepPRIME is unmatched. When paired with Mac computers outfitted with the M1 chip, the technology can be applied seamlessly every time.

DxO DeepPRIME has Revolutionized Denoising and RAW Conversion Technology

DxO DeepPRIME is based on the latest artificial intelligence technologies and significantly improves noise reduction while also delivering more effective demosaicing. The resulting photo quality is nothing short of spectacular, especially for photos taken in low light conditions that require brightening certain areas, photos with small pixels, and photos taken with early-generation cameras.

To demosaic and reduce noise in RAW images, DxO DeepPRIME was trained using several billion samples. Since its founding in 2003, DxO has earned an international reputation for calibrating hundreds of cameras and thousands of lenses using a protocol that is more comprehensive than any other in the industry. DxO has measured the distortion, vignetting, chromatic aberrations, loss of sharpness, and digital noise generated by each equipment combination and in every situation with an extraordinary level of precision.

Using a traditional approach, these two operations are performed separately, with each one introducing artifact that degrade the quality of the other. With deep learning, DxO DeepPRIME has adopted a holistic approach that combines the two steps into one in order to deliver exceptional performance.

Improved HSL Tool

DxO PhotoLab 4’s HSL (Hue–Saturation–Luminance) Tool features an exclusive adjustment mode based on the colour wheel called DxO ColorWheel. With this tool, you can select a colour range from eight different channels, fine-tune the value, select a replacement colour, and adjust your transitions as much as you like. DxO PhotoLab 4.1 now displays a mask in the image being edited that lets you instantly identify the selected colour area. The result is a more seamless user experience and even more opportunities to unleash your creativity. The Uniformity slider lets you adjust colour variations within a specific range. The Saturation and Luminance sliders also offer an incredible degree of flexibility, especially when converting a colour image to black and white and when creating partially desaturated images.

New Camera Support

DxO PhotoLab 4.1 continues to add the latest cameras to the list of equipment it supports. The program now supports the Nikon Z 6II, the Sony A7C and A7S III, and the Panasonic Lumix DC-S1H. A new drone, the DJI Mavic Air 2, has also been added to the optical modules database.

Price and Availability

The ESSENTIAL and ELITE editions of DxO PhotoLab 4 (PC and Mac) are now available for download on DxO’s website (https://shop.dxo.com/) for the following prices until December 31, 2020:

DxO PhotoLab 4 ESSENTIAL Edition: £86.99 instead of £112

DxO PhotoLab 4 ELITE Edition: £129.99 instead of £169

You can install the program on two computers with the DxO PhotoLab 4 ESSENTIAL Edition or on three computers with the DxO PhotoLab 4 ELITE Edition. Review – The SJCAM SJ10 PRO Action cam. #SJCAM #Tech

If you are looking for a new device to capture images videos or action shots which includes underwater activities this might be one to look at with a simple to use UI and plenty of features to go along with it including slo mo 4K and multiple settings to toy around with you will not be short of options with the SJ10 PRO action cam.

Small and compact and a robust build that also comes with an exterior case and waterproof alongside the other accessories there is no limits to how you can use this and be creative there is also a dash cam mode too which is nice to have, One thing to note is you should get a high quality SD card that can handle 4K footage as anything less will freeze up the unit as I found out during my testing.

This can be placed on a tripod, gimbal a bike, helmet, selfie stick or handheld it is up to you how you use it and very versatile so there is no limits and it does work great underwater I might add. There is multiple options to change in the settings and an app to help you too and use it via your smartphone which we will see in the video review below, the only thing is it struggles with is battery life  but if you have a portable charger at hand well then this is no problem for anyone and anyone that does carry such would be inclined to be prepared by having a spare battery or a back up portable charger anyway. Night time images turnout a bit grainy or blurry but in the daytime it shoots well and overall I i find the video really excellent but on my test night it was cold the night of testing and perhaps had an effect on the results you can see for yourself down in the video.

What is nice with this too it is touch screen there is only one button on the unit to power on/off and take a video or photo so it is not a complicated  mess of buttons or hard to navigate UI and settings menu with no deeply buried material to find to get the full use of the product and most of all the price is  really competitive too in the market for such tech. You can also live stream your creations or take footage at events where allowed, it is really a one stop shop for vloggers, tech enthusiasts and You Tubers.
