Nokia news ireland is only in its infancy and several months old and targeting on specific a product which is nokia and its products, ireland is a small country which has a small market when it comes to mobiles compared to the uk for example who is next door on the map so to speak.
Launched in June 2013 the first month was slow with results but has incrementally boomed since then and i wish to thank all who follow and read the blog.
From reading stats today nokia news ireland has jumped a massive 459.56% since launch which is pretty amazing considered we are only targeting a specific product and in such a short space of time.
We have regular readers from all over the world with Ireland been the top viewer in the stats.
The uk,finland, india and rest of world is also a big visitor and steadily growing and we will strive to continue along with our twitter feed to keep people up to date in ireland on the latest apps, updates and news on nokia products for ireland and more. Here we also offer support on your products should you have an issue.
Me @jimboireland owner of nokianewsireland.com has plans for the future here with this blog, which will remain a nokia focused blog only, and remains the only dedicated blog for nokia in ireland, and also another project in the works for mobile products in the near future, which will be announced in due course from my personal twitter account.
Once again thanks for the support and hopefully more will come especially a little closer to home.

A gloomy day in dublin turned into a rather spectacular day meeting the spectacular Patrick Hamilton Walsh.
We have been friends a while now on twitter and have had several conversations and today was the day to finally put them chats into use and meet up for coffee.
In my recent post http://nokianewsireland.com/2013/07/30/patrick-hamilton-walsh-new-book-life-is-out-now/ this is the man himself i sat down with today.
His new book just launched (Life Is) and has sold out already which is an amazing achievement .
This guy has done it all a CV anyone would be envious of.
Patrick like myself is a nokia fan and this guy has travelled the world with his nokia phones and put them into perspective making videos and superb photos all taken on nokia devices.
Patrick also has the nokia lumia 925 like myself and we both await the Lumia 1020 and we cant wait to see what he brings us with the 1020.
We spoke about the smartphone market in ireland and the way it is and what the future is holding.
We spoke about how nokia lumia sales are in ireland which are steadily growing and what holds for the 1020,we also spoke about the LACK OF INTEREST from irish companies and their attitude supporting only Android and iOS,at the end of the day windows phone IS the third OS,it has a top ecosystem and the sooner the better these irish companies wake up the better, people want apps its that simple and to make any OS a success you need apps i cant make myself any clearer on that so if your reading this my note to irish companies is WAKE UP!
We also spoke on the attitude with some retailers,a customer going in asking for one product and been sideswept to another,we know who these manufacturers are and thats how they do business, they are buying the stores,i could go on all day about that and what i see in the business as im involved in it daily myself, and get to meet lots of interesting people.
Staff training is another thing that has cropped up with little or none this is another area that needs to be addressed by either the stores or the companies themselves.Advertising too is another important key factor which needs to be looked at.
We agreed on everything which was good,we both have the same ideas and thoughts and whats ahead.
Bucket loads of cash swamping the market with rehashed models and boring designs might work for now but people are picking up on that now.
So we have a pretty good outlook on WindowsPhone but MS need to pick up the pace too in fairness they are just not quick enough to release the apps people want but they are getting there slowly but surely.
We also spoke about Patricks goals and what his plans are which are amazing for somebody that has done it all what else can you do?
Patrick is going to continue travelling and keep sending us glorious photos from his nokia device,he wants change and is making changes and like myself i need a change in my current career which im currently working on.
To sum up partick as a person he is a total gent he is inspiring and im a big fan he has valuable skills and i learned alot form my meeting with him.
He has recently been on the nokia conversations site too about his new book and very much a well liked guy from what im reading,he is a nice guy ive met him and delighted to have met him.
You can follow him on twitter @ThePhoneographr and @theISbook.
I wish patrick the best on his future plans and was a pleasure to meet you.
Nokia’s popular handset the lumia 520 has been on sale a while now and proving popular.
With the average cost on pre-pay here in ireland its normally around 109.99 euros.
Argos have released their new catalog, the autumn/winter 2013.
So naturally i checked out the prices and to see whats on offer from the retail giant.
Well to my surprise the Lumia 520 was the at a whopping 194.99 reduced from 229.99.
Both these prices are way above board even though they are sim free models.
Here is the advertisement in the catalog
No shame here stating it was 229 which you could buy the 620 for which is the next model up.
Last year the 620 in argos was a whopping 319.99 again way over the street price.
Ok so here is where i have a valid point.
Sim free = no bloatware.
Buying from a store ok your locked and have a good chance of bloatware.
Buy the phone from a network you can get it unlocked for free with credit spend or meeting your contract terms.
Most operators now have set terms for unlocking some more outrageous than others i might add.
So if you buy it for 109.99 you can get it unlock for free by meeting the terms above OR you can get it done for 25 euros in shop that provides the service, this would void warranty but nobody really takes this on board, unlocking phones here in ireland is a huge business.
