Groov-e zooms into camera market with its first digital camera for kids under £25

Groov-e, one of the UK’s leading tech brands, has entered the digital camera market for the first time, with an affordable, fun digital camera for children aged four and above.

Available in sky blue or baby pink and boasting a modern ‘cool’ build, the Groov-e Kidz Camera is especially designed for the small hands of budding photographers. Featuring a 40mp camera and 1080p video capture it also has a two-inch HD screen so they can instantly admire their snaps and videos.

Ideal for helping children express and explore their creativity, the functions and controls are designed for little hands and minds, so it’s simple to use and they can get started right away.

Packed with features including 28 photo frames, 16 fun filters including moustaches and glasses and five interactive games as an entertaining way to teach them basic editing skills.

The built-in memory allows for content to be stored on the camera, however the included charging and data transfer cable allows photos and videos to be moved to other devices like computers/laptops and smartphones so they can share their creations with friends and family.

The camera expands Groov-e’s range of affordable tech products for children, joining the new range of Cuties night lights which launched in June this year and the best-selling Kidz bluetooth headphones.

The Groov-e Kidz Camera retails at just £24.99, making it an affordable gift for Christmas this year, and is available now from Groov-e and  from Robert Dyas at the end of October.

Tech Review – BIGGERFIVE BH-100 Wireless Kids Headphones

The BIGGERFIVE BH-100 Wireless Kids Headphones are a nice new product for kids who like to tune out and lets be honest most do and listen to music or play games on their phones or tablets which gives the parents some time out too, these are super light and very comfortable to wear with nice padding on the cups and a nice padded headband too, they have a ratchet adjustment each side to get the right fit and are very robust which for kids is important.

The controls are all one one side which makes life nice and simple for your child too and you have got a switch to power on and off you have a light switch to change the colour setting which is on the cups and you also have controls to play /pause skip and reverse tracks which again is laid out nice and simple.

The sound quality is great but the important feature here is the sound levels which has two settings and you can override the first one if you will you can limit audio volume between 85 and 94dB which will not change even if accidently touched. The sound is crisp and clear and decent for a kids pair of headphones and I have to consider this as they are aimed at kids and not older teens etc, so on my assessment they sound decent here and your child will be fine as they will not be looking for the highs lows and mids and bass drops etc but they are well balanced overall.

Battery live overall is decent and if you you run out of juice as kids normally do with such products you have a wired option to avail of which is handy but overall you can expect around 48- 50 hours with the lights turned off and significantly less if they are on but still overall good.

For the money you will pay for these you cant go wrong for your child and these will keep them entertained for many hours even with or without the lights on the cups which does make for nice aesthetics in a darker room and again these can be controlled too on the headphones.

Tech Review – Puro Sound Labs BT2200-Plus Volume Limited Kids Bluetooth Headphones

Kids headphones are a thing you know and we have covered many over the years and in fact Puro has been featured here many times and today we have the latest model which is the BT200 Plus model headphones for kids with volume control, previously review here was the previous model the BT2200 and check out the review here.

OK so these are for kids but that does not stop me trying them out then my daughter tests after me it is how it goes here and how I give my final thoughts and being a kids/teens pair of headphones there is not much technical knowhow on how to use them and use the features, there is no app and all you do is just connect via bluetooth and the job is done it is that simple.

The build quality is excellent the padding is soft and plush with two sets of cups one for over ears and one standard set so you have the option to pick which suits you best or most likely your child in this instance, for me the larger cups obviously done the better job when it comes to noise isolation and the same applied to my daughter with the smaller cups so on that front they do a good job here not having ANC and so on.

The headband is comfortable to and like the cups soft and plush and they are made from vegan protein leather and can be worn for hours on end be it for music or gaming and knowing you are keeping your ears safe from harm, the extension arms are solid and do not move and stay fixed as set when you put them on first.

Puro sound labs BT2200-Plus kids headphones controls – techbuzzireland

The controls are simple to use here and there is limited options here to control things including calls which is done by the bluetooth button, you have a power on/off switch and a volume up and down buttons all which are nicely raised and tactile to use, the is no skip or reverse tracks no voice assistant etc and no app, you can play and pause your music again via the bt button and that is all there is to it nice and simple they are for kids after all.

The sound quality is quite good and better than you would expect from kids headphones even the volume is decent given the target market and keeps things well balanced overall with nice highs lows and mids some bass too and no distortion on top volume either here and overall a pretty clean audio experience and it does not sound cheap either.

Language Learning Software Developers Industry in the US

There are language learning programs on the market, and tools like Google Translate have come a long way to bridging the gap between different language speakers. There are even apps where you speak in your native tongue, and it outputs your sentences in a different language. The progress that the industry has made in regards to translation is awesome, but what about those actually teaching the languages? What has become of the developers who are making language learning software?

Learning Vs Translating

Just because the quality of translating has become a lot better, it doesn’t mean that learning programs are in less demand. There is this misguided belief that one day we will have universal translators that translate any language right there, similar to the sort of thing you saw on old Star Trek episodes. However, that day is a long way away, and it is going to be an AI device more than a pure translation device. In this day and age, and for decades to come, people are going to need programs that help them learn new languages. There may already be thousands of learning apps, but they get old and outdated pretty quickly. People still want learning apps and they will still want them in the decades to come.

The Learning Industry is Still Thriving

Was there ever a truer word said. Some people think that the global community is relying on translation software to bridge the gap, but that is not even close to being true. Since China decided it is going to be the world’s manufacturing hub, the sheer number of English-to-Chinese software to come into existence is massive. Companies are building their own, apps are competing, Universities are competing, and learning courses are building their own language-learning software. The world is becoming smaller thanks to easier travel and the Internet, and so people are looking to learn new languages out of necessity rather than simple curiosity or intellectual endeavor.

What Are We Teaching Our Kids?

If you want your child to learn coding because you feel it offers a lucrative career, then you are half right. Coders will always be in demand in the future, but how lucrative the career is may be a matter of discussion. Nevertheless, if you are out looking for books about coding for kids with the hopes your little Jimmy or Jenny will become a language learning software developer, then your child will probably grow up with some valuable and marketable skills.

The Size of the Market

At the moment, the size of the language learning market in the USA alone is about $4 billion. The part that software plays in that is obvious simply by the fact that most schools, colleges, Universities and online learning courses rely on at least some varieties of language-learning software. What makes this interesting for software developers is that at no point is a language-learning course going to turn away good language-learning software. While learning courses exist, so will the desire for language-learning software. Plus, given the sheer number of different platforms for language learn and the sheer number of ways to learn a language, there are always going to be a diverse number of ways for software developers to make an impact. The future is bright for software developers who specialize in language learning apps and software.
