Revenue teams: Introducing Zoom Revenue Accelerator

Today Zoom announced that Zoom IQ for Sales, the company’s conversation intelligence software, will relaunch as Zoom Revenue Accelerator.

“As a customer feedback-driven company, we heard from customers that the name Zoom IQ for Sales didn’t reflect the power of the product. As we continue to evolve the product, we want to better reflect the vision and how it can help sales teams gain meaningful and actionable insights from their customer interactions,” said Mahesh Ram, head of AI applications and products at Zoom. “Just in the last quarter, Zoom IQ for Sales has grown significantly, with a 400% increase over Q1, highlighting just how powerful this application is, and how people are interested in generative AI capabilities to boost revenue performance.

Today, Zoom Revenue Accelerator provides many AI features meeting summaries, chapter summaries, sentiment, engagement, talk / listen ratio, intelligent automatic extraction of next steps and good questions, and an email smart compose feature to help complete sales meeting follow-up, to name just a few. Zoom plans to continue expanding these functionalities and adding new AI features to empower sales teams to improve their skills and continuously improve performance, leading to better customer experience and revenue outcomes in the long run.

This autumn, Zoom is expanding its capabilities with Zoom Revenue Accelerator, including the announcement of a new Virtual Coach, Deal Risk Signals, and Discover Monthly for sales teams.

  • Virtual Coach will leverage a customisable and dynamic training environment that simulates a real conversation to accelerate onboarding and train sales team members on new products and methodologies more effectively, including an objective assessment of their performance that they can act on to improve consistency in messaging.

  • Deal Risk Signals will allow sales teams to use a rules-based engine to send alerts if the deal hasn’t moved forward in a specific period of time, to help teams understand where they are in a sales pipeline.

  • Discover Monthly will help uncover trends by tracking how competitors are being mentioned on calls and summarising the trends monthly, helping revenue teams reveal insights and execute more effectively.

Since its launch, Zoom’s AI-powered sales tools have helped sales teams gain meaningful and actionable insights from their customer interactions:

  • “Improving our sales performance while running more efficiently is critical for us. Zoom Revenue Accelerator allows us to coach sellers and identify best practices while simplifying technology and processes and lowering costs. Our sales teams already love and spend a lot of their time in Zoom Meetings, so it was a no-brainer to add conversation intelligence with Zoom to their experience,” said Alexander Atzberger, CEO at Optimizely. “In addition to using Zoom Revenue Accelerator to onboard our sales team, my C-suite dedicates time each week to listen to recordings. It allows us to not only keep a pulse on our revenue org, but hear directly from our most valuable resource, customers.”

  • “Our team is hooked on Zoom [Revenue Accelerator]! It’s been great for our demo process improvement and transparency,” said Tim Akhmetvaleev, head of sales at Flippingbook. “I can’t wait to see what kind of AI wizardry they have in store to make it even more awesome!”

  • “Zoom [Revenue Accelerator] allows us to deliver conversation insights on prospect and customer reactions to SetSail’s features, functionality, and messaging to our marketing teams for them to take action on,” said Majed Itani, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder at SetSail Technologies Inc. “As a bonus, [Revenue Accelerator] provides information for our managers to better coach and enable our customer-facing teams across sales, customer success, and business development based on actual conversations.”

New generative AI-powered Zoom IQ features available

Today Zoom Video Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZM) launched key features of Zoom IQ, a smart companion that empowers collaboration and unlocks people’s potential through generative AI. Now available through free trials for customers in select plans,[1] the Zoom Meeting summary and Zoom Team Chat compose features will help teams improve productivity, balance workday priorities, and collaborate more effectively.

“With the introduction of these new capabilities in Zoom IQ, an incredible generative AI assistant, teams can further enhance their productivity for everyday tasks, freeing up more time for creative work and expanding collaboration,” said Smita Hashim, chief product officer at Zoom. “There is no one-size-fits-all approach to large language models, and with Zoom’s federated approach to AI, we are able to bring powerful capabilities to our customers and users through Zoom’s own models as well as our partners’ models.”

Zoom’s federated approach to AI leverages its own proprietary large language AI models, those from leading AI companies — such as OpenAI and Anthropic — and select customers’ own models. With this flexibility to incorporate multiple types of models, Zoom’s goal is to provide the most value for its customers’ diverse needs.

The first set of Zoom IQ capabilities is now generally available to Zoom customers in select plans as free trials:

  • Meeting summary: Zoom Meeting hosts can now create a summary powered by Zoom’s own large language models and share it via Zoom Team Chat and email without recording the conversation. Hosts receive automated summaries and can share them with attendees and those who didn’t attend to improve team collaboration and speed up productivity.
  • Chat compose: Zoom Team Chat users can now use the generative AI-powered compose feature, which leverages OpenAI’s technology, to draft messages based on the context of a Team Chat thread in addition to changing message tone and length as well as rephrasing responses to customise text recommendations.

Zoom is committed to empowering customers with the tools they need to control their data. In order to use these features, customers will need to go to the Zoom admin console and opt into the free trials for each feature. As part of the opt-in, customers will also select data-sharing options with Zoom. Account admins may change this data-sharing selection at any time. Customer data will not be used to train third-party models. More information can be found here.

To further help our customers and users, Zoom will continue to enhance its products with Zoom IQ capabilities. The next set of generative AI-powered features, scheduled to be released soon, will allow users to draft email content, summarise Team Chat threads, organise ideas, and draft whiteboard content:

  • Email compose: Harnessing the power of generative AI, users will get email draft suggestions in response to the conversational context from prior Zoom Meetings, Zoom Phone calls, and email threads. Initially available in Zoom IQ for Sales, sales professionals can now quickly follow up with customers based on the context of their last conversation. Email compose will be generally available in the coming weeks.

  • Zoom Team Chat thread summaries: Ever step away from the computer only to come back to a flurry of Team Chat messages? Available in the coming months, Team Chat thread summaries will allow users to catch up with the click of a button.

  • Meeting queries: Joining a Zoom Meeting late can be both disruptive and confusing for the latecomer, but not anymore. Meeting queries will allow users to catch up quickly without disrupting the meeting flow by discreetly submitting a query via the in-meeting chat and receiving a generative AI-created summary of what they missed. The meeting queries feature is expected to be generally available in the coming months.

  • Whiteboard draft: Who hasn’t experienced the “cold start” problem? A slow start to a brainstorming session can put a damper on idea generation, but with whiteboard draft, teams will be able to get a set of initial ideas, simply using text prompts. The whiteboard draft feature is expected to be generally available in the coming months.

  • Whiteboard synthesise: Brainstorming sessions typically end with a lot of ideas that need to be organised in order to execute. The whiteboard synthesise feature automatically organises ideas into categories, so teams can get to work faster. This feature is expected to be generally available in the coming months.

Tech Review – Skullcandy X Burton Push Active True Wireless Earbuds

In the latest collaboration with Skullcandy we have the Burton Mod True wireless which comes in a fancy looking case as was before and slightly larger than others only this time this one looks better and stands out which looks cool. It has a nice finish and feel to the case and non slippy which is helpful due to its size but still this case gives you up to 34 hours of battery life and you have got rapid charge built in via USB – C

Now we have reviewed these before in their first iteration and nothing much has changed to be frank and honest about it and they still stand up to their merits back then as they do now. One thing that I loved most about these is the voice control options which you still today do not see.

These also fit really well too and have over ear hooks that goes around the ear and will not fall out of your ears, even for the most active folk and can be worn jogging or in the gym, there is one button on each side for controls but they have a new trick up their sleeve and buttons do not have to be used at all and you can just say “Hey Skullcandy” to do what you need them to do, more on this in the video below you need to see this in action.

At the price you pay here you get great sound however no ANC but this is fine with the really secure fit you will not hear much going on outside anyway unless outdoors in a noisy environment, with my ususal test loop they performed really well, highs lows and mids are fine and a good balance overall and then you have the app to play around with too with the EQ settings and also edit the button controls too which is excellent.

Check the video review below for a more in depth look.

VEX IQ Robotics Competition national finals take place with support of Dell & MTU

The national finals of the 2022 VEX IQ Robotics Competition supported by Dell Technologies and Munster Technological University (MTU) took place today in Cork with over 170 primary school students from across the country bringing STEM learning to life by taking part in a game-based engineering challenge to design, code and build robots.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the VEX Robotics Competition in Ireland. Since its introduction in Cork the competition has expanded nationwide with over 250 primary as well as secondary students from all corners of Ireland this year engaging in STEM at the earliest opportunity.

Supported by Dell and MTU, the robotics challenge provides students with a fun, hands-on opportunity to build and programme robots in teams and face off with other competing schools across the country. Team members from Dell volunteer their time to support the VEX Robotics Competition.

Out of the 250 participating students in this year’s VEX IQ Robotics Competition, 24 schools qualified through to today’s final where teams competed for a spot at the global VEX Robotics Competition in Dallas.

The VEX IQ Robotics Competition begins in the classroom each year, with school children across Ireland working from September to December with their teacher to design, build and programme a robot. This process is assisted by members of the education community, local councils and industry stakeholders who collaborate and support the schools in the preparation stages of the competition.

Through their participation in the programme, students learn many technical skills, including robotics, engineering, design, programming and coding, but also skills and knowledge in other areas such as teamwork and financial planning.

Commenting on the final instalment of this year’s competition, Bob Savage, Vice President Regional CIO for EMEA and Cork Site Leader, Dell Technologies Ireland, said: STEM learning is central to inspiring the next generation of developers and engineers whose skills will help shape our future as an innovation island. That’s why our team at Dell have come together with MTU to support the national finals of the VEX IQ Robotics Competition in Cork. As we celebrate 10 years of the robotics challenge in Ireland, we are proud of our long-standing partnership with VEX which provides young people with a fun way to engage in technology and foster their creativity. I want to congratulate the finalists and all the students who put on a powerful demonstration of their problem solving and computational skills at this year’s national finals.”

This year, the programme encouraged students to look more closely at the world around them through a STEM project with the theme of ‘Mathematics in Nature’ leading students to explore many varied applications.

PSB Speakers Announces the Launch of the Alpha iQ, Streaming Powered Speakers with BluOS

PSB Speakers, long renowned for excellence in loudspeaker design, announces the Alpha iQ, Streaming Powered Speakers with BluOS, an all-in-one audio system that sets a new benchmark for modern, tangle-free, audiophile-grade listening. Attendees of the CEDIA Expo will be among the first to experience the product.

PSB’s Alpha iQ will be available for pre-order online on October 19, 2022, for US$1,499 / GBP£1,299 / EUR€1,499 / CDN$2,199. Retail availability will begin in late November 2022.

Comprising two bookshelf speakers with built-in amplifiers and a network streamer based on the award-winning BluOS multi-room music platform, the Alpha iQ lets listeners enjoy PSB’s acclaimed “True to Nature” sound with more than 20 streaming services and hundreds of Internet radio stations. The Alpha iQ has a wide array of inputs so users can connect source components such as a turntable, TV, disc player, or game console. Listeners can share their music over a home network with up to 63 other BluOS-enabled components.

A World of Music

Setting up and using the Alpha iQ is simple. Plug the speakers into power outlets, then connect the Alpha iQ to a home network using the intuitive BluOS Controller app on a smartphone, tablet, or personal computer. Now the speakers are ready to play music from more than 20 streaming services supported by BluOS, including several that offer high-resolution audio, such as Amazon Music Ultra HD, Deezer, Qobuz, and Tidal. BluOS also provides access to hundreds of Internet radio stations around the world, covering all musical genres.

The Alpha iQ has built-in two-way Bluetooth, with support for the high-quality aptX-HD codec for wireless streaming from any mobile device. Apple AirPlay 2 compatibility allows listeners to stream CD-resolution music from any app on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect are both supported, so listeners can cue up music in the apps for those services, then transfer playback to the Alpha iQ.

Tangle-free

Users don’t have to clutter their living spaces with speaker wires to enjoy “True to Nature” sound from the Alpha iQ. The left and right speakers communicate via a wireless link that can cover most rooms in an average-size home, so that music stays synched and clear regardless of speaker placement.

Audiophile-Grade

Available in satin white and satin black finishes, the Alpha iQ has a sleek, modern design. Inside each enclosure is a 4″ polypropylene mid-bass driver with steel basket and rubber surround, and a 0.75″ aluminum dome tweeter with neodymium magnet and ferrofluid damping.

Each woofer has its own 60W class-D amplifier, and each tweeter its own 30W class-D amp, for total system output of 180W. Thanks to their powerful amplifiers, tuned bass ports, and DSP-enabled low-frequency extension, PSB’s Alpha iQ speakers can deliver bass output that completely belies their diminutive size.

The Alpha iQ employs a DSP-based active crossover. As with many PSB designs, the tweeter is placed below the woofer. This arrangement provides greater flexibility in listener position because the blend between woofer and tweeter remains consistent whether one is sitting or standing.

High Resolution

The Alpha iQ’s audiophile-grade DAC supports resolution to 24-bit/192kHz and has full MQA decoding and rendering capability for high-res streaming from Tidal. BluOS also lets listeners enjoy four stations with MQA-encoded high-resolution music from Radio Paradise.

Well Connected

The Alpha iQ boasts an extensive range of input and outputs. The primary speaker has a built-in MM phono preamp and RCA jacks plus ground terminal, so vinyl fans can connect a turntable. An HDMI ARC port lets users experience sound with TV and movies. There’s also an optical input for connecting a disc player or game console, and a 3.5mm auxiliary input for connecting analogue sources. Listeners can also use the BluOS app to play music files stored on an external drive connected to the Alpha iQ’s USB port.

Output Options

For late-night listening, listeners can connect a pair of headphones to the combined optical / headphone jack or via two-way Bluetooth. For enhanced bass, there’s a subwoofer output. When a subwoofer is connected, BluOS engages a low-pass filter for the sub and a high-pass filter for the mains, which frees the Alpha iQ from having to produce deep bass sounds

Smart and Simple

Listeners can manage every aspect of the Alpha iQ’s operation using the rich, robust BluOS Controller app, which is available for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows. For making quick adjustments without using the app, there are touch controls on the top of the primary speaker for changing volume and pausing and resuming playback. Voice control is also possible using Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple Siri (via AirPlay 2).

Like all BluOS-enabled components, PSB’s Alpha iQ BluOS Powered Speakers can be integrated into popular smart-home systems, including Control4, Crestron, ELAN, RTI, and URC. IR command learning is available for listeners who use harmonized remote controls to operate multiple A/V devices.

“The Alpha iQ is a perfect choice for music-lovers who want a sophisticated all-in-one system that delivers great sound without the fuss of cables and multiple components,” said Joe de Jesus, product manager, PSB Speakers. “We think of it as beautiful sound made simple.”
