Cubic Launches AI-Enabled FleetWallet partnership with GoCar

Cubic³, a global leader in software-defined vehicle (SDV) solutions, today launches FleetWallet³, its AI-enabled in-vehicle payments platform designed to transform how commercial fleets, car-share companies and automotive OEMs manage fleet fuel and mobility payments.

FleetWallet³ is an AI in-vehicle payments solution that initially eliminates the need for physical fuel cards, prevents fraud and delivers seamless and compliant automation. By combining data intelligence with secure payments, it sets a new standard for AI connected and efficient fleet management and operations, all without additional hardware.

As part of its rollout, firstly across Europe, Cubic³ has partnered with GoCar, a leading car-sharing service, which will showcase FleetWallet³’s potential to support mobility providers, leasing companies and corporate fleets alike.

Paul Foley, Commercial Director of FleetWallet³, said: “Fraud and card misuse remain some of the most persistent pain points for fleets and car-share providers. By integrating telematics with secure payments, our platform protects against both internal misuse and external compromise, delivering over 10% savings on fuel costs while dramatically reducing administrative overhead.”

Joe Quirke, Head of GoCar Ireland, commented: “Our partnership with FleetWallet³ aligns perfectly with GoCar’s commitment to smarter, more sustainable mobility. As an early adopter of this solution, we’re excited to demonstrate how secure, automated and increasingly intelligent payments can reduce risk and improve efficiency across shared mobility and fleet operations.”

The Platform Addresses Five Key Challenges:

  • Intelligent, Adaptive Fraud Prevention – Real-time telematics and data analytics help fleets prevent theft and misuse, unlocking over 10% in fuel savings while minimising manual reconciliation.
  • Seamless, Secure and Automated Payments – Fully integrated, PSD2-compliant fleet payments enable hands-free management across Europe’s strictest financial and tax regulations.
  • Real-Time Insights for Smarter Fleet Management – Transparent, data-driven reporting provides instant visibility into fleet performance and fuel consumption.
  • Centralised, GDPR-Compliant Control – A single platform to manage vendors and services securely, simplifying operations across Europe’s diverse fuel and mobility networks.
  • AI-Enabled Fleet Intelligence – FleetWallet³ will leverage AI to evolve with every transaction, learning from vehicle data to predict needs, optimise costs, and enable intelligent connected services.

The Future of AI-Powered Fleet Intelligence

Looking ahead to 2026, Cubic³ is advancing FleetWallet³ with AI-powered fraud detection, Smart Transaction Intelligence, and predictive analytics. A new conversational assistant will let managers “talk to their data,” detect anomalies, and act instantly – building intelligence that helps forecast costs, cut emissions and drive real-time sustainability.

AI Partnerships and Software-Defined Vehicle Integration

As part of its ongoing AI roadmap, Cubic³ is exploring new data-exchange partnerships with fleet-management providers and automotive OEMs to unlock the next wave of intelligence – from predictive maintenance and driver-behaviour analytics to EV charging optimisation and machine learning.

This approach positions Cubic³ as the AI orchestration layer for software-defined vehicles, bridging operational, financial and environmental data into a unified intelligence ecosystem.

“AI marks a defining moment for FleetWallet³ and the mobility and automotive industries,” said Foley. “Leveraging this technology, FleetWallet³ will become a self-learning platform that evolves with every transaction – predicting needs and connecting services from parking and tolls to EV charging, transforming vehicles into intelligent hubs within a smarter, more sustainable mobility ecosystem.”

GoCar Announces €10 Million Investment to Expand and Upgrade Car Sharing Fleet Nationwide

GoCar, Ireland’s leading vehicle sharing service, today announced an investment of €10 million in the expansion and enhancement of its current vehicle sharing services across Ireland. The investment is part of GoCar’s commitment to provide sustainable and convenient mobility solutions to meet growing customer demand for alternative transport options to private vehicle ownership.

The €10 million investment will support increased vehicle availability and wider vehicle choices for customers throughout the country. A total of 280 new vehicles will be added across 149 locations, catering to both urban and rural communities. This expansion aims to provide users with a broader range of vehicle types, ensuring increased choice and flexibility when it comes to public transport options.

GoCar’s fleet has seen a rise from 820 vehicles in January 2023 to 930 vehicles in July 2023, with the current investment supporting further increase to more than 1100 vehicles in over 600 locations across 24 counties nationwide by the end of the year.

GoCar will also be launching a new website and app designed to provide a more innovative and intuitive customer experience. Additionally, a new loyalty programme will be introduced, rewarding repeat customers for their continued use of car sharing services, with the launch planned for late 2023.

Commenting on the announcement, Paul McNeice, Head of Country for GoCar, said: “At GoCar, we believe in creating a community-led approach to mobility, becoming an integral part of the fabric of localities across the country. Our investment reflects our dedication to increase the availability of sustainable and flexible transport options to meet the evolving needs of our customers.

“We are proud to be Ireland’s leading car sharing provider, driving change and innovation in the market. Our expansion beyond traditional urban centres aligns with our mission to make car sharing more accessible for drivers across the country in all the regions.

Over the past three years, we have been evolving beyond our legacy urban hubs in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway and we are committed to making GoCar available in 24 counties across ROI by the end of 2023.”

Fleet Advancements

In response to the evolving preferences of its users, GoCar is introducing a variety of new vehicle types to its fleet. These new additions include the ‘GoLocal’ – a smaller city vehicle perfect for short urban trips, and the ‘GoExplore Plus’ – a spacious SUV catering to families and longer journeys.

The ‘GoLocal’ new entry level model is available to rent from €9 per hour /€50 daily, while the ‘GoExplore Plus’ can be booked from €15 per hour or €80 per day.

Furthermore, GoCar aims to address the growing demand for electric vehicles in 2024 by collaborating with strategic partners to bolster the expansion of its ‘GoElectric’ range, providing environmentally conscious customers with sustainable transportation choices.

Paul McNeice, continued“Our customers recognise the environmental benefits of embracing multi-modal transport, combining walking, cycling, public transit, trains, and car sharing to meet varied needs. Our research, based on European studies, shows that GoCar annually removes over 8,000 cars from Irish roads, underlining our sustainability commitment. Notably, 62% of users abstain from car ownership while 57% actively use public transport. Separately, 60% of our users said they would consider purchasing a car if GoCar didn’t exist. As attitudes shift toward sustainability, GoCar’s fleet expansion investment addresses alternative and multi-modal transport needs effectively.

We are excited to continue this journey of innovation, sustainability, and community engagement. As the year progresses, at GoCar we remain committed to delivering accessible and flexible transport solutions to meet the needs of a dynamic and ever-evolving market.”

GoCar announces €1 million investment in national expansion

Ireland’s leading car sharing service GoCar, today announced an investment of over €1 million in the expansion of its car sharing fleet across new locations nationwide this year. The investment will primarily fund the provision of a new fleet of cars and vans in line with growing demand for GoCar car sharing services among the general public since the covid-19 pandemic.

By the end of 2022, the company forecasts a 15% increase in car sharing locations throughout Ireland compared to 2020. In total, GoCar will have more than 700 car sharing locations nationally this year, with more than 900 vehicles available to rent by the hour and more vehicles expected to be added in line with rising public demand.

Over the past two years, GoCar has been growing beyond its traditional urban centres in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway – this is part of the company’s strategic commitment to make car sharing more accessible to drivers across Ireland as a sustainable and flexible alternative to private vehicle ownership. The car sharing service has already begun its regional location rollout with car sharing now available in multiple locations throughout counties Kilkenny, Wexford, Waterford, Kildare, Meath, Louth, Mayo, Wicklow, Westmeath and Kerry.

Demand for car sharing services remained buoyant following the pandemic outbreak in 2020 and public interest began to rise last year with GoCar expanding its fleet of vehicles by almost 10% in 2021, with a total of 860 vehicles available to users across the country. The company also experienced a 5% increase in car sharing trips booked in 2021 compared to 2020.

Paul McNeice, Head of Country for GoCar, said: “It’s fantastic to see demand for car sharing among the general public on the rise and as a result we are determined to make it as accessible as possible for consumers across the country.
For many households, GoCar presents a reliable and important alternative to car ownership and is a really cost-effective solution for daily transport needs including commuting, shopping, recreational trips, staycations and more.

“National preference and attitudes towards private car ownership and sustainable transport are constantly evolving, and now, more than ever before, people are re-evaluating their individual transport requirements and considering flexibility, cost and importantly, environmental impact. To this effect, we hope that our investment in the national expansion of our car sharing fleet will provide an effective transport solution for more people looking for alternative transport options.

GoCar enables customers to rent cars and vans from just €10 an hour, with corporate customers using the service to meet work-related transport needs and reduce fleet costs. Registered users can easily book via the GoCar app, then unlock the vehicle with their phone; the keys are inside the car, with fuel, insurance and Dublin city parking all included in the rental price.
