UDU launches its handheld motion control console for an immersive, active and unique mobile gaming experience

Danish tech and gaming start-up, UDU, has announced the launch of its UDU CONSOLE and the UDU GAMES app. The idea was born in 2018 when co-founder Asbjørn H. Christensen worked as a design and engineer intern at LEGO and realised that almost all the toys and games that kids and people play, forces them to sit still indoors. From this, UDU was founded in 2019 with a vision to turn inactive gaming into an active and outdoor activity which the UDU CONSOLE aims to do for kids and families alike.

Compatible with smartphones and tablets and with games constantly being added, it is a console that will provide a whole new attitude and experience to mobile gaming and is already a 2022 Platinum winner of the MUSE Produce Design Award. Available on Kickstarter now, backers can gain up to a 40% discount off the usual retail price of $199 for the UDU CONSOLE and 12 months of free subscription to the UDU GAMES app (normal price is a monthly fee of $10).  Backers can expect to get the product in around April 2023 with general sale planned for the summer.

The UDU CONSOLE is the first console for mobile gaming which enables immersive gaming experiences that can be outdoors and active. With 81% of the world’s kids and teens not being physically active enough, the console was developed to tackle this problem. The mobile games that can be played with the console are controlled with physical gestures and the next level motion detection understands the players movements through AI and translates these into meaningful gameplay. This makes the games much more immersive, active and fun to create a gaming experience that is filled with learning. The HD Haptics also make it possible to feel 1:1 what happens in the games through the vibration of a sword as it cuts through the air or the flow of the brush as it touches the canvas – whatever may be happening in the game will feel super real to anyone playing.

Not only featuring impressive AI and Haptics for gameplay, the console has a crisp and clear colour display, RGB LED’s, a trackpad, squeeze button and trigger button to make every game unique and cognitively logical to play. Beginning play is simple and users can just connect the UDU CONSOLE to any smartphone or tablet through Bluetooth and use the UDU GAMES app to access a universe of engaging customised games – most of these based on geo-location – with hundreds of hours of social, learning and entertaining play for kids, teens, adults and the whole family.

The first console to truly be made for the outdoors, it is designed to be sleek and compact whilst also being ergonomic and durable. The sleek console fits naturally into either hand and is incredibly intuitive to use. As an extra safety feature, it also comes with a wristband to keep it securely in the hand of any player – preventing any accidents when the game might be getting competitive and movements more erratic! The durable casing ensures that the console is water repellent and robust so it can be used outside without any worries of breaking if dropped on the floor, in a puddle or caught in a bit of rain.

“With UDU, we set out with a team of industry experts to make an entertaining new gaming experience that is fun, active and outdoors.” Says Asbjørn’s co-founder Christoffer B. Christensen. “Because you move and feel just like your game character, the play becomes so immersive and fun that you don’t even notice that you are moving around and burning calories outdoors.”

BMW Group partners with AirConsole to bring casual gaming into vehicles in 2023.

Today, AirConsole and the BMW Group announced a partnership which will bring casual gaming into new BMW vehicles, starting next year. AirConsole is a gaming platform which perfectly fits with the BMW Curved Display and offers a large and diverse catalogue of games. The games are run directly inside the vehicle entertainment system. The AirConsole technology enables games to be instantly delivered over-the-air and to control them using smartphones.

“With AirConsole we will leverage innovative technologies combined with a broad variety of fun and multiplayer games. This will make every waiting situation inside the vehicle, such as charging, an enjoyable moment,” said Stephan Durach – Senior Vice President BMW Group Connected Company Development.

Anthony Cliquot, CEO of N-Dream, the company behind the AirConsole brand: “We are extremely proud to spearhead gaming inside vehicles with BMW and are excited to create new games for in-car entertainment. Our ingenious architecture coupled with the ease of access of our platform will change the way people get entertained in their vehicles.”

Smartphone + Screen = Console.

Setting up the gaming experience with AirConsole is seamless. Players only need a smartphone, which serves as the game controller, and the BMW Curved Display. The connection between the smartphone and the vehicle is established, for example, by scanning a QR code in the vehicle. The players can then instantly enjoy entertaining gameplay.

The BMW Group chose AirConsole as a partner via the BMW Startup Garage program.

Tech Review QCY G1 gamer earbuds

Many earbud manufacturers are now targeting the gamer fan which means you get a two in one product and most likely a better price and they are doing this by offering a lower latency take on their earbuds QYC is a new brand here to us and after reviewing their last earbuds the QCY T18 earbuds which are super impressive for the price their G1 model attempts to attract gamers as we do have an option to use solely as a gaming earbud or a gaming earbud but the thing is when you offer both you give people more for their money and attract new custom.

Their app is great which we went over in the QCY T18 but below is a what is different this time around and all the smarts that were there in the T18 are still present so you are getting that but more and at an affordable price point which is great for the consumer.

As you can see the app has all you need you have got battery level control sound control for both gaming and music and feature controls you can even control the LED and you have a sleeping mode option.

As for the sound again it is good however I found these a bit on the brighter side compared to the previous pair we checkout but that is just my thoughts and again can be customised with the app but overall good sound across the board and no lag latency when using with Netflix etc and whilst gaming and so on and for anyone on a budget who requires new earbuds and wants them for music and gaming  you should look at these, they are light comfortable and the controls work well and all in all a well rounded product at an affordable price offer both gamers and music listeners value for money again.

Red Bull Home Ground tickets, talent and teams revealed

Tickets are now available for the one-of-a-kind pro-VALORANT competition, Red Bull Home Ground. As an official part of the VALORANT Champions Offseason Tournaments and returning to the vibrant city of Manchester for its third iteration, eight of the world’s elite teams will battle it out to be crowned champions in a unique ‘Home and Away’ format from December 9th-11th.

  • 9th December: Best-of-three group stages begin; two teams will immediately pass to the semi finals, four will pass to the quarter-finals, and two will be eliminated.
  • 10th December: Kicking off at 16:00 CET, the quarter-finals will switch to a best-of-five format, eliminating two more teams.
  • 11th December: Fans can catch the four teams battling it out in the semi finals from 13:00 CET, with the losing teams from each match-up facing an immediate knockout. Leaving two teams to battle it out in the finals for the Red Bull Home Ground 2022 trophy.

For the first time, Red Bull Home Ground has opened its doors to teams outside of Europe who are set to make waves going up against the EMEA’s best teams, taking their best shot at the $100,000 prize pool. These invitations promise fierce competition as Red Bull Home Ground will witness  rivalries reignite for the first time outside the VALORANT Champions Tournament. Before, we’ve seen EMEA battle it out on the Red Bull Home Ground Stage, but now it’s time for the Americas teams to prove their skills.

Fans will get the chance to see eight world-class international VALORANT teams, including last year’s Red Bull Home Ground champions Team Liquid go head-to-head as the first round of teams has been announced, with more set to be revealed soon:

  • Team Liquid
  • Team Vitality
  • FOKUS Clan
  • TO BE ANNOUNCED
  • TO BE ANNOUNCED
  • TO BE ANNOUNCED
  • FUT Esports – TR Qualifier
  • Team BIG – EMEA Qualifier

FUT Esports grabbed their spot during the closed Turkish Qualifiers in August. This year’s EMEA Open Qualifier took place on Sunday and saw German organisation Team BIG emerge victorious. In an incredibly close final, BIG went head to head with KOI, securing the win over the Spanish squad.

Providing insight into the team’s dynamics and expert opinions throughout the tournament, Yinsu Collins is set to return as the host of the invitational alongside commentators; Mitch “Mitchman” McBride, Tom “Tombizz” Bissmire, Ryan “RyanCentral” Horton, Beatriz “kaquka” Alonso and Adam “Dinko” Hawthorne.

An official part of the VALORANT Champions Offseason Tournaments, Red Bull Home Ground will also feature special guest appearances from from G2’s female VALORANT roster G2 Gozen and Against The Current front-woman and recent desk host of the VALORANT Champions Tour, Chrissy Costanza. Taking a break from inventing, VALORANT Agent “Killjoy” will also make her way to Red Bull Home Ground; stay updated on her journey via her TikTok closer to the event. Fans can also anticipate some exciting cosmetic content drops throughout the tournament’s gameplay.

Red Bull Home Ground pioneers a pulse-racing Home and Away structure that puts an exciting curveball on the traditional VALORANT format. The two competing teams will select a “home ground” to play on for the open two maps. This structure rewards tactical awareness, map knowledge and wider map usage; if a team wins both opening “home” and “away” matches, they automatically win the tie, while a stalemate will default the tie to the traditional best of format.

Embracing the pulsing atmosphere of Manchester, the Red Bull Home Ground cyberpunk aesthetic sets a futuristic mood for this year’s event. The combination of eight world-class teams, global rivalries, and famous hosts offers the live audience a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Victoria Warehouse. The event will be brought to life for digital audiences across the globe, made available in several languages on Twitch and YouTube.

VALORANT analyst, commentator and content creator Beatriz “Kaquka” Alonso said: “Red Bull Home Ground brings together some of the world’s top teams, giving us the opportunity to see completely new match-ups and teams partnerships ahead of next year. The unique format means we’ll see teams perform and strategise in totally new ways, bringing unpredictability to one of the most anticipated tournaments for some time. I look forward to catching up with the UK VALORANT community and fans in the vibrant city of Manchester- see you there!”

Going into its third edition, Red Bull Home Ground is the premier Red Bull event for VALORANT and, alongside Red Bull Campus Clutch – an open global VALORANT tournament for students –  encapsulates the brand´s continued commitment to support the VALORANT community and uplift its competitive ecosystem, from a grassroots level with an array of local initiatives to the very highest echelons of esports. National Qualifiers are taking place across the world right now, head over to redbull.com/campusclutch for more information

To level up last year’s tournament and create a truly unforgettable experience for teams and fans alike, Red Bull Home Ground has teamed up with gaming and esports industry leaders. AGON by AOC, a global leader in gaming monitors, is the Official Monitor Partner for the event, bringing exceptional visual clarity and ultra-high refresh rates to competitors. AMD joins as Technology Provider, ensuring the high-performance computing that will push the boundaries of the tournament. Also supporting Red Bull Home Ground as a peripheral sponsor, HyperX ensures that players will be able to reach their full potential on the stage.

ENDORFY – A new European brand on the international technology stage

Cooling, the owner of SPC Gear and SilentiumPC, has today introduced its new global brand – ENDORFY – to the world. The move is as a result of international business expansion and the broadening of the target audience. ENDORFY goes beyond the gaming sector, wanting to reach all modern technology fans with both its message and products you will see some reviews soon here on techbuzzireland so stay tuned.

The creation of the ENDORFY brand is a response to the dynamically changing nature of the technology market. It is also a long-term investment in securing the company’s path towards further growth on the global market. Cooling has created a single and powerful brand that follows modern communication trends, meeting the demands of global consumers, as well as establishing itself across the technology market.

“After the success on local markets, the next natural step for us is further expansion,” says Łukasz Zdziech, CEO of Cooling. He goes on to say, “Our company constantly strives to develop both the quality of offered products and the range of operations. We have already noted promising results on several foreign markets, e.g. in the Czech Republic and Germany. However, the time has come to significantly increase the scale of our operations. We will be present in nearly all of Europe, and in the future, all over the world. We want to compete with the biggest companies in the industry.”

The formation of the brand is also the result of an expanded target audience. ENDORFY provides its products to all types of technology users. Their communication reaches far beyond just the gaming industry. “We originate from the gaming world, and we will always acknowledge this. Nevertheless, our audience has long since shifted from being exclusively gamers. They are also content creators, such as streamers, podcasters, writers or casual users, who do not need to play games at all to enjoy technology,” explains Łukasz Zdziech. Following this he states, “In response to these dynamic changes, we decided to adapt the brand to be relevant to both our gaming audience and those who do not come from the world of gaming. We want to be a brand associated with positive emotions delivered by technology.”

ENDORFY is a brand for everyone who wants to have fun using technology. This close, almost collegial relationship between the company and its audience is at the heart of ENDORFY’s creation, and the entire vision behind the new Cooling brand.

“During the design development of ENDORFY, we wondered what all our extremely diverse customer groups had in common. We finally found the answer. It’s the emotions they experience through technology,” adds Jacek Serwański, Cooling’s Marketing Director. He then says, “It is the joy of winning a match in a game, or the pride when you show your friends your self-built PC. It is also a moment of unwinding after a long day with your favourite music playing in your headphones. These small moments are very precious to us, because although they are characterised by great individuality, they actually bring all technology users together.”

The brand has also ensured that its visual communication stands out from the crowd. ENDORFY’s image is based on a unique colour palette. It is not used by any entity known in the industry. The two main colours are yellow and blue, supported by black, white and various shades of grey. “We pay a lot of attention to details, which can be seen for example, in the packaging boxes

we designed for ENDORFY,” explains Jacek Serwański. He states, “The white box immediately stands out on the shop shelf, where black usually dominates in the technology department. On the box, we show the product from almost every angle. This allows the customer to see what they are buying even without opening the packaging.”

Key products that will be available as early as the 5th of October 2022:

  • Navis F280 Cooling System – ensuring silent operation with no fan noise
  • Solum Studio & Solum Broadcast Microphones – a solution that provides clear sound and ultimate comfort during long hours of recording
  • Wireless Thock Compact Keyboard Series – allowing you to forget about tangled cables and focus on your tasks
  • GEM and GEM Plus Mice in the “Onyx White” colour – combining incredible accuracy and original design with a unique colour scheme

The history of Cooling began in 1993, when Zbigniew Zdziech founded a company that sold computer accessories. Ten years later, the company began offering its products online, and in 2007, the manufacturer created its first brand, SilentiumPC, which produced fans. The brand quickly expanded, and went on to offer PC cases, air coolers, and power supplies as early as 2012. Another breakthrough came in 2016, when the company decided to also target the computer accessories and peripherals market, launching its second brand, SPC Gear. The new brand’s first product was a high-quality gaming chair, followed by two series of gaming keyboards, a streaming microphone, an ultra-light mouse, and the “VIRO” headphones, which became a huge sales success. The company currently holds a leading position on the Polish market in the sales segments of PC cases, power supplies, and air cooling, and the SPC Gear VIRO headphones continuously hold first place on the sales charts.

Digital technology is shaping the future of sport

Technology defines not only many areas of modern everyday life, but also the world of cyber sport. Digital technology helps to avoid bad decisions and thereby ensure a fair playing field.

Technology has an impact on life

Technology has long had a firm place in everyday life. The main reason for this is undoubtedly the Internet. It has shaken the business foundations of many industries. How else, for example, could the autonomous driving that Tesla is aiming for be implemented?

Many industries, however, have completely reinvented themselves thanks to the internet. Thus, the games industry has become the largest sub-sector of the entertainment industry. As a result, many types of games that used to be played offline have migrated to the Internet.

The best example of this is the booming iGaming industry. Today, thanks to the internet, a variety of online casino offerings can be played without any prior download.

Innovation is also driven by technical possibilities

The enormous range of offerings has also facilitated the development of new sports. For example, eSports and Overwatch bet tournaments can be held without participants physically meeting. Gamers from all over the world meet in a virtual space to crown the best amongst their peers.

Looking at the development in eFootball Championship Pro, it is clear that the best football clubs in the world are also setting the tone in the cybersport version of the sport.

A provider such as Vulkanbet now also has a wide range of live casino games in its pipeline, which use streaming technology.

Despite the large selection and constant innovations, the original basic idea of the respective games has not been forgotten.

A rapid development can be seen, for example, in the mobile network. The new 5G mobile communications standard is setting the pace. It offers speeds ten times faster than 4G. This new standard benefits above all those services that require high speeds, such as mobile cybersport games and esport bets. It speeds up and automates processes and improves communication between devices.

Digital technology in sports

Smart applications support decision-making and thus play an important role in ensuring fairness. This is especially true for the video assistant in football. However, it does not make decisions autonomously, but provides facts that enable human referees to correctly assess a disputed situation.

Virtual and augmented reality

Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are increasingly penetrating our everyday lives. Trend researchers predict a great future for both new technologies as they make work more efficient, games more impressive, and human interaction more versatile in many areas.

There are also many uses for AR, among which are Games. Computer games are the most popular and probably the most common application.

Increasingly, game makers are developing pure VR games that can be played entirely without control devices thanks to new technology. The game pieces are superimposed on the real-world environment. The principle of the game became known thanks to the popular game Pokémon GO.
