#VirginMedia has urged users to change router passwords.James Romer, EMEA at #SecureAuth advises..

Following the news today that Virgin Media has urged users to change their router (super hub) passwords over fear of being hacked, James Romer, Chief Security Architect – EMEA at SecureAuth Corporation has said the following.

The consumer association, Which? has called for the industry to improve basic security provisions, including requiring customers to create a unique password before use, two-factor authentication, and issuing regular software security update. This is not adequate. The way organisations are approaching authentication and securing credentials needs to be rethought for cyber security strategy and investment to have any shot at being successful. Simple two-factor authentication is no longer enough to safeguard against today’s attacks. Pushing forward, organisations are realising they need to adopt a new approach to prevent to misuse of stolen credentials that doesn’t just add an extra step to users authentication process, but instead provides effective protection while providing a good user experience. Modern approaches such as adaptive access control techniques and identity based detection work invisibly to the user but work to protect, detect, and ultimately remediate attacks essentially rendering stolen credentials useless.”

Infographic – Quora , Wisdom In The Social Crowd. #Quora #Social

The Internet is a whirlwind of data where the greater part of it is genuine, and quite a bit of it is false. Endeavours, for example, Wikipedia have demonstrated that by and large, Internet users have much learning on a wide range of subjects, learning that can be ordered and curated to frame important data vaults. Over the most recent couple of years, question-and-answer communities (Q&A) locales have given another way for internet users to crowdsource and look for particular definite data, a lot of which includes finding direct answers of particular inquiries from area specialists.

Taking this pattern ahead Quora, an inventive Question & Answer site with a quickly developing user group that contrasts from its rivals by keeping a social network as an informal community into its fundamental structure. Do you know about the few estimates of Quora’s user growth?? Here are some 150% development in one month, and about 900% development in one year.

Quora was launched on 21st June 2010(Quora left beta status in January 2010) and below is an infographic by Fullestop that demonstrates the timeline of Quora. We all know that from experts to company’s professional, Quora was successful in engaging every user type on it. Example – Instagram and Yelp addressed inquiries regarding their organizations on Quora.  In spite of its short history, Quora appears to have accomplished where its rivals have fizzled, i.e. effectively drawing the investment of both a quickly developing client populace what’s more, particular area specialists that create significant substance in light of inquiries.

Learn to Code on Nintendo Switch with FUZE Code Studio! #Coding #FUZE #NintedoSwitch

FUZE Technologies Ltd is proud to announce they are bringing their hugely popular learn-to-code platform, FUZE Code Studio to Nintendo’s incredibly sought after new console, Nintendo Switch.

FUZE Code Studio motivates and inspires users of all ages and abilities, leaving them wanting to learn more, even if they have no prior experience of coding. FUZE’s unique method means children as young as six can learn to code using a real text based language – and now it’s coming to Nintendo Switch.

FUZE Code Studio is the perfect stepping stone between visual coding simulators currently used in most primary schools and real-world languages like Python, Java and C++/# etc. FUZE Code Studio comes with everything you need to learn to code in one app. Users can code their own games and share the experience with friends and family – imagine creating your own game then transferring it to a big screen with multiple controllers so others can play your creations. Thanks to Nintendo Switch’s revolutionary design this becomes a reality – and coders will soon be learning how to interact with external devices, sensors and motion controls in ways not previously possible.

FUZE Code Studio on Nintendo Switch makes learning to coding more accessible than ever and what’s more, is children can learn while having fun. The move to Nintendo Switch is one FUZE’s CEO, Jon Silvera is convinced makes perfect sense.

He states “Back in the eighties when home computers reached critical mass and were selling into the tens of millions they all had one thing in common.  They all had very accessible coding environments to get users started within minutes. Before you knew it we had more coders than we knew what to do with and a multibillion dollar industry was born!

In stark contrast, today we have a global shortage of coding skills and very few accessible learning platforms. It seems we’re running around ‘Scratching’ our heads, wondering where it all went wrong”.

Jon Silvera continued “We are deeply honoured and very excited to have been accepted as an independent developer for Nintendo Switch.  Over the last four years FUZE has taught tens of thousands of children in schools, science events and clubs, how to code using a text based programming language. Nintendo Switch is the perfect platform for FUZE Code Studio to help nurture the next wave of bedroom coders.”

The UK Government recently rewrote the Computing Curriculum to focus almost entirely on coding and computational thinking to ensure we have the much needed coding skills to support the increasingly digital landscape. FUZE Code Studio for Nintendo Switch is perfectly suited to assist in meeting this objective.

FUZE Code Studio for Nintendo Switch will be available Q2 2018 with additional gaming content to be made available via DLC add on packs.  Pricing will be confirmed nearer the launch.

Review – BT Audio Baby Monitor 450. #Baby #Parenting #BT

If your planning on having a new baby, it’s not a question of having a Baby Monitor it’s a question of which one, what brand, what features required, what budget.
A recent survey advised in terms of features or units shipped, the audio only segment accounted for more than 45% of the market share and held the leading position in 2016. It was followed by the audio and video segment. The analogue segment was declining to the digital technology. The BT Audio BabyMonitor 450 is in the audio & digital range.

Contents:
A parent unit for you, a monitor for the baby’s room, two mains power adaptors, two rechargeable
batteries and a user guide to walk you through the set-up process.
Key Features:
• Long Range of 300m outdoors and 50m indoors, (this will let you know when you are out of
range.)
• Interference Free HD sound
• Two Way Talk back, (this works very well and clear audio)
• Lightshow Projection Show
• 18 lullabies
• 1.8″ LCD Display
• Adjustable Nightlight
• Temperature Display and Alerts

I like the monitor which comes with sound level lights, which can easily be seen, even if the sound is turned off, as the sound level increases the light gets brighter. Again, the temperature display works well, should the temperature deviate above or below 16 and 24 degrees, there is an alert. The TwoWay Talk back is handy especially when one parent goes to the room and forgets something. The Starand Moon Lightshow projects gentle coloured shapes onto your baby’s ceiling to calm your baby. There is also lullabies to help them drift off to sleep. The HD audio is quite clear with no interferenceheard. I can’t fault the audio.

Why BT?
BT previous range of baby monitors had won multiple awards, this new range of monitors appear to follow the previous strengths of the older models in terms of simplicity and reliability, while this model will not break the bank but does the job that required.
When deciding on a Baby monitor, the first step is checking what’s important to you, how far is the room away from where the cot is, do you want just audio / video, digital / analogue, can you get interference from wi-fi, mobile phones, your budget, below is a over view of the main features of the BT range..

Dislikes:
The units come with a 1 year warranty, (more expensive baby monitors, still only come with a 1 year warranty) This is not just a BT issue, most of the Baby Monitor manufactures provide only a 1 year warranty) BT advise on their manual we are always looking to make our products last longer and use less power, so we don’t have such a big impact on the environment, my suggestion is to give a free 3-year warranty. Stand out from the crowd!

The charger comes supplied with the package as a 6 V- 400ma charger, again another charger while over 90% of the population in Europe will have a standard usb charger in the home, (or a power pack at hand) why not use the same leads saving unnecessary clutter. In fairness on the above dislikes, this is nit-picking and should not put you off this product, rather turning a very good product into 100% within its category.

Note: This BT Audio Baby Monitor 450 can also be used for an elderly relative that requires looking after as similar principles apply, should the person awake at night, this BT Audio Baby Monitor 450 is ideal without the video / camera mode respecting their privacy,
Overview
If you are looking for a quality product, with good functionality and easy to use without the camera option at a good price, you can’t go wrong with the BT Audio Baby Monitor 450
