I have many bluetooth speakers and use them quite often be it here in-house or elsewhere and I also have an issue with people borrowing them all the time, Not an issue for me personally but based on past experiences and with this one it means they are liked.
This speaker is really class with a nice look to it and its the Urbanista Melbourne bluetooth speaker. It has all the mods required to satisfy anyones needs who requires such a speaker and its got class looking colours which steer clear from the industrial average which are now boring..
UBRANISTA PRODUCT UNBOXING
The build quality is excellent too with a soft rubber coating and steel mesh like from with their logo underneath,On the top we have our power key, plus and minus volume toggles and bluetooth pairing button, Beside this is the indicator light for connectivity status which is coloured Blue.
On the right side we have our charge and connect ports covered with a rubber flap to keep the dirt out and this seals up well to and not too easy to open at first, On the bottom we have 4 small rubber feet which will keep it stable and keep movement to a minimum with loud volumes as they tend to move around the place at high volume levels due to vibration but this was not a problem here..
Sound is loud and bass is deep, you can of course adjust these via your smartphone to your taste and standard settings for me where perfectly fine giving a nice deep base to my music and videos and plenty aloud with volume which is great considered its size. Magikbee, the Portugal-based edtech startup, has released kiddZtube, a video-quiz app that makes YouTube content educational and completely safe for preschoolers. The app offers a wide range of popular videos, all selected by a group of real-life teachers who, using the kiddZtube technology, add questions to each video that teach children spelling, colours, emotions, directions, and more – all by asking kids about what they are watching. It is available worldwide now on the App Store for iPhone and iPad and on Amazon for Android.
We are testing out the Android version at the moment and it seems pretty good and its safe,on starting up the app the parent will need to fill in some particulars and can check out some settings to get going. Ideal for kids not accidently strolling onto things they are better off not seeing.
See the full press release below…
The app was developed in response to both kids’ love for YouTube videos and parents’ concerns over the quality of time spent in front of a screen. As kids watch videos on kiddZtube, questions – which are asked aloud – appear and are answered with a row of four coloured stars combined with emojis, making the experience interactive and visually appealing to the youngest boys and girls.
Because all of the content is chosen and curated by teachers, kiddZtube is completely safe for kids to use. Parents can also track their child’s progress and set time limits on use of the app, giving them full control over its usage.
kiddZtube Lite is available for free with access to 20 videos with quizzes. Meanwhile, the full version of the kiddZtube app costs €5.99 and offers the full experience with more than 1,000 videos and 7,000 quizzes to view from your device. You can get in touch for a promo code that will give free access to the full version.
kiddZtube is easy to navigate and designed to appeal to children. As a child watches a video, for example about autumn apple picking, the quiz question appears: what colour are the apples? The options to respond appear inside four stars, coloured blue, yellow, red or green. To respond, a child just has to select the star with the correct answer. Kids will instantly know if the answer is correct or should try again. It’s a fun and engaging way to learn.
Hugo Filipe Ribeiro, magikbee Co-Founder & CEO, said: “We wanted to develop something positive, safe and at the same time engaging and fun for kids.”
Some parents may currently be familiar with YouTube Kids, where preschool content is freely available. The big difference is the ability of kiddZtube to transform screen time into an active learning experience. Moreover, YouTube Kids promotes passive screen time and sometimes very young children can get dragged to inappropriate contact that makes it past YouTube’s filters. That’s not possible with kiddZtube.

The NOKIA 3310 3G is now available in Ireland albeit it a quite launch. This verison is slightly different to the 2.5G model with some extras on board which will keep you entertained if the older version was not enough.. The 3310 3G version is now available with the eir network right now for €59.99 and it will be also launching this week on Three Ireland and presumeably Vodafone,Earlier this month we did get a lead time of the 2nd week in October which again has been true.
Nokia 3310 3G combines the talk and text appeal of the current model with a 3G data connection, meaning you can now enjoy the classic across more countries. The retro user interface has been improved to deliver an enhanced, customisable experience meaning you can now change the icon colours and position to ensure your favourite functions are exactly where you want them to be.
We have a few sets of ear/headphones to get through and this pair form the House Of Marley is the first up. They might look a bit delicate but overall they pack some serious sound and are fairly solid with a unqiue look to constructed with fabric, metal and some wood thrown in for good measure..
The build quality is good overall and stretching them here there and everywhere they to me are quite solid as a whole thought they might look a but weak they are not. They are also really light and they look well and stand out and most if not all that have seen them here liked them especially after listening to some tunes on them, the sound is really good and LOUD.
The headband is made with REWIND fabric with a denim look to it and its a nice touch, keeps clean and the band itself is flexible for any size head and padded on the underside in Blue plain material.
The cups are really well designed and the design overall quite good with metal cups finished off with integrated FSC certified wood with their logo stamped. The metal rails which join the headband and cups up is a simple design yet different, fairly sturdy and in between the bars is the cable which is twisted and looks really nice and I would say should last long enough once you take pride in your cans.
The joints where the headset folds is made with plastic and feels robust and should perhaps last much longer that joints we see at this point on headphones though time will tell over usage how long they will really last and they held all in place with three small screws so I reckon they would get great longevity.
The aluminium cups are really comfortable with a soft leather padding and inside the Marley branding in once again present on the cloth material covering the cups ,this is of course removable and when removed we can see the inerts and a further three screws.
On the left side we just have one access port which is for charging so its a simple affair here, On the Right side is all the function keys which are small for me and might take big handed folk a bit more time to navigate blindly but over time like any other headset like this you will find with ease as you get custom to them, Also present this side is the 3.5 MM socket for your headphone cable should you run out of juice on battery. We have and indicator light present here for connectivity status and also a mic for taking calls which coincides with its inline one button control on its tangle free cable it all works well.
The battery life is slated as 12 hrs which seems consistant with my review time of two weeks and easily will last a day but for those on the go constantly or a long commute to work might want to charge them nightly to be safe but most folk would get a few days of general use but this of course depends on the individual and how much they use them for..
Overall I was happy with the design build quality and most importantly the sound, they are loud and reproduce highs and lows brilliantly but I am no audio expert and from testing countless headphones now they are up there with loudness which is the way I like to listen to my music and they are also very comfortable blocking most external noise and if you listen to these full blast in a quite environment you are in for a treat.
At the time of press they are now on sale for £49.99 if looks, design and quality is what you are after check them out below.
A major new event to showcase tech opportunities in Ireland will take place in London next February, it has been announced.
The announcement was made at the inaugural 404 event, which saw hundreds of skilled techies descend on the Royal Hospital Kilmainham over the weekend.

Having your head frozen for potential future resuscitation is a service that will be on offer to the public within 5-10 years, according to the UK’s stem cell bank. They tell us more below, Touchy subject perhaps for some but it’s happening like it or not.
Famously something Walt Disney did, having your head frozen when you die is thought to be a way of preserving enough of your personality, intellect and memories to be able to bring you fully back to life at some point in the future when technology is more advanced.
But this service has previously been within the reach of only the very rich, such as Disney, while less affluent people have missed the opportunity to do this when they die. And now, say StemProtect.co.uk, we are looking at a near future in which the service is available to everyone – for a small cost of course.

Mark Hall spokesperson for StemProtect.co.uk said: “We’re accustomed to making jokes about freezing heads when we die, and of course everyone knows Walt Disney did it – often that’s their only point of reference. But soon we could see this practice becoming commonplace because advances in technology have made it much more affordable.”
“And of course, while we’re not at the point yet where we can bring someone back to life from this procedure, we believe it’s just around the corner.”
StemProtect.co.uk agree that this does raise some weighty ethical questions, however: “We don’t yet know what the emotional impact would be of bringing someone back to life this way even when we are physically able to do it. That’s not a question for science but for us as human beings, and it’s a question we might not be able to answer until the first person is brought back to life after being frozen.”
The service will be offered at a cost of £5000 for 250 years. Which Mr Hall points out “That’s cheaper than some funerals”

Other ways of preserving vital tissue, such as stem cell banking, are now much more commonplace than ever before, and carry far fewer ethical problems. Unlike freezing a head, which is done to bring a dead individual back to life, the work StemProtect.co.uk do is aimed at preserving information about the body which can be used for medical purposes while the person is still alive.
Public surveys show that people are still not completely happy with the idea of having their heads frozen when they die, even if it does become something that’s affordable to them and realistically within their reach.
Johnny 37, from Leeds, said “ Where do I sign up? Freeze me now and bring me back in a few hundred years please, I take it my bar tab will be cancelled?”
Mr Hibbert, from Yorkshire, said “ Anything to get away from the wife”
Stephen, 45, from Bedford, said: “I don’t even like to think about it. Who would want to be, or know, someone who had been brought back after they died and had their head frozen? I can’t imagine it’s a smooth ride, put it that way.”
And Mary, 75, from Oxford, said: “As a Christian, I don’t think it’s right at all. Once you die, you die, and I’m not scared of that. I’d be more scared of coming back afterwards away from peace and back here where there’s not as much peace.”
