First Look – Edifier WH950NB Hi Res Audio Wireless Headphones

Edifier has new cans and I am all excited as over the last while we have been doing way to many earbuds and it has been a while since we have seen some decent cans arrive not forgetting the last installment from Edifier the WH500 which are a great pair of headphones if you are on a budget.

The latest from Edifier called the WH950NB have landed in for review and first impressions are good out of the box with the choice of materials and the specs sings to a good tune, but how will they sound, we will find out over the coming week or two with a full hands on review and of course checking out the Edifier Connects app. If you have any questions drop em below or on our social media accounts and we will gladly answer them.

Edifier, the forward-thinking audio-technology brand, have announced the release of the QD35 – a tabletop, Bluetooth speaker expertly designed combining high spec audio features with ‘Lumia Art’ effects for the best acoustic/visual effect. The term Lumia was coined by a twentieth-century artist, Thomas Wilfred, when artists began to promote colors and light together in their works as a form of art that uses light. ‘Lumia Art’ was originally associated with music then latterly paintings. The USB-A port and the AUX jack on the rear panel support high-resolution audio signals. With the enhancement of LDAC technology, you can also stream high-quality music with a 96kHz sampling rate to this speaker via Bluetooth.

The full-digit DSP chipset divides the signals precisely into treble and mid-bass. In two independent ways, the TI Closed Loop digital amplifier distributes enhanced audio signals of different frequency bands to target drivers for accurate reproduction. With a total power output of up to 40RMS, the audio blasting from the QD35 can easily fill your lounge, studio or other home living space.

The casing for the QD35 has been designed to perfectly intensify and balance the acoustics. The 3-inch mid-bass drivers, with the aluminium alloy diaphragm (benefitting from the ‘long stroke’ design) reproduces bass frequency down to 60Hz and provides a mid-sound which is intense and rich. The 1-inch silk diaphragm dome tweeters are finely tuned for the exact reproduction of highs, from which the trebles sound crisp and bright. With the enhancement of MazeTube Bass Reflex Channels and TurbMuff Air Noise Suppression Technology, port noises and resonance are reduced to their lowest level.

Powered by TurboGaN’s high-efficiency charging technology, it can charge 1000+ compatible devices. With the addition of full-time fast charging technology, full time temperature control technology and smart power assignment technology, charging is quick and safe.

Tech Review – Edifier MF200 Portable Tabletop Bluetooth Speaker

Bluetooth speakers come in all shapes and size be it large or small but when it comes to portable options it is not often you see them built with high quality materials like the latest from Edifier which we have been testing out the last while. Not only that the presentation is excellent and you get a protective cover to keep it safe when not in use which is another bonus and again I have not seen such at all the speakers I have reviewed and to top it off it sounds great too.

The built quality of this speaker is fantastic with a cold to touch feel elegant slim design and touch capacitive buttons for controls which is housed in aluminium alloy which has a nice bit of weight to it but not too heavy and again it will not move around on your table or bedside locker for example, there is also rubber footing to keep it in place and from me testing at max volume it did not shift once and also no distortion to the sound either.

On the front we have a nice grille and to the right is the touch control which work well also on the right is your power on/off dial which has a light that emits from it to show your status and looks cool. On the left side is you AUX input and USB-C port for charging. The stereo acoustic system is composed of two full-range units, together with the well-tuned one-piece dual-diaphragm low-frequency radiator, which not only effectively utilizes the cabinet space, but also enhances the driving ability, so that the low-frequency effect is significantly improved.

Having tested this both on my phone and laptop it packs a punch with nice bass and not distortion when maxed out it easily beats my laptop speakers and it loud it is ideal for your music or movie binges and not only that it looks good and can be basically placed anywhere, even in your travel bag.

Tech Review – Edifier WH500 headphones

The Edifier WH500 headphones are the latest on offer from the company at an affordable price and at first look I did not think these would sound good and I was totally wrong. Why you might ask well small cups and thin bands just remind me of office headsets and do not provide decent audio well let me tell you these give an excellent audio experience they are comfortable, super light and gave me a little nudge not to judge a book by its cover, however coming from Edifier I knew they would not sound terrible but they just excelled in my opinion.

OK so these are packed with features as expected with access to the Edifier Connect app which for me is important with headphones, there is a safety level here to to conserve your ears which again is important and has been in the media of late but this does not take away from the great audio experience you will find here, there is also good battery life to be found with up to 40 hours and based on my test it was around 39 max volume which is still good, you have fast charging which gives you around 6 hours playback in 10 mins which is pretty impressive and it takes 2 hours to fully charge the headphones.

Powered with 30mm drivers these do pack a punch and better than I anticipated and with access to the app enhances the experience with good bass, highs lows and mids and no distortion with that said you have other options in the app to which can also see in the video review below. No lag latency was noted either during testing and calls also very good both ends.

Overall with all the options in the app seen below makes these a good headset and one to watch if you like the small cups approach, for me I never took a shine to such but this pair has changed my mind.

Tech Review – Edifier W240TN earbuds

With a new style at hand here from Edifier these piston inspired designed earbuds as they have called them drew some attention and not only this it is nice to see a new design of earbuds as overall the design element like mobile phones is getting boring now so it was good to see something that looks different and coming in a cool case with an LED light up front was also a good move so how did these fair out after testing them?

The design and looks are good as mentioned and they fit really well they do stand out and have a nice silver accent on the tips which is plastic like the whole earbud but this does not make them uncomfortable either they fit well in the ears and stay put and of course you should ensure you have the right tips so do check them all out for your best fit.

The case has borrowed a nice LED effect up front like the Neo Buds Pro we reviewed which again is an excellent pair of earbuds so do check out that review too and see how they done, On the tips you have buttons which is an arguable debate of which is best and I prefer these bit no problem using touch sensitive earbuds and for controlling these they worked really well and have been responsive at all times.

There is app access folks yes that’s right Edifier Connect and great to see and works well and has improved with an update during my test period check out more on that in the video review below. Below is an idea of what you will see in the app and how the UI looks. Battery life is decent here too and good all round and realistic to their claims from my testing.

When it comes to sound these do well again and only expected from Edifier overall without going into the usual definitions these for me passed the test and again at the price point you can’t complain decent volume nice bass and of course the app can help you along and has a gaming mode for those want something more..
