Edifier Introduce NeoBuds Planar: True Wireless Planar Magnetic Noise Cancelling Earbuds

Edifier International, the award-winning audio electronics designer, has unveiled their newest model in the NeoBuds series of premium high-end True Wireless earbuds. The NeoBuds Planar earbuds combine cutting-edge technology with exceptional sound quality for a truly immersive listening experience. Featuring planar magnetic drivers and advanced noise-cancelling capabilities, these earbuds deliver crystal-clear audio, whether you’re enjoying music or taking calls.

Equipped with six high-sensitivity microphones, Qualcomm aptX™ Voice for clear voice pickup, and up to 30 hours of battery life, the NeoBuds Planar ensure you stay connected and comfortable throughout your day. With customizable features via the EDIFIER ConneX app and smart functions like automatic music pause/play, these earbuds are perfect for both work and play.

Planar Magnetic Drivers

The NeoBuds Planar feature advanced planar magnetic drivers that ensure uniform, exponential audio performance and the capability to be used for active noise cancellation. The diaphragm is ultra-thin, offering excellent transient response for detailed and precise sound reproduction. A balanced magnetic field and symmetric supporting wiring ensure even weight distribution, allowing the diaphragm to move in a piston-like motion across the entire audio spectrum.

Dual magnet arrays on both sides of the diaphragm provide a doubled driving force in a push-pull manner, significantly improving efficiency. Additionally, each pair of earbuds undergoes an auto-calibration process during production to guarantee consistent and uniform performance. This design makes planar magnetic drivers an excellent choice for superior sound quality.

Premium Quality Sound

The NeoBuds Planar are powered by Qualcomm® QCC5181 Bluetooth® audio SoCs and support the Snapdragon Sound™ Technology Suite, delivering a premium and immersive audio experience. They are compatible with multiple HD codecs, including aptX™, aptX™ Adaptive, aptX™ Lossless, Snapdragon Sound™, LDAC, and LHDC, ensuring exceptional sound quality across all devices. With Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, these earbuds provide rich, detailed sound that brings music to life.

Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation

The NeoBuds Planar feature 3rd generation Qualcomm® Hybrid Adaptive Noise Cancellation technology, which dynamically adjusts the cancellation pattern based on the surrounding ambient noise. This ensures a comfortable and immersive listening experience, blocking out distractions and providing clear audio in any environment.

Crystal Clear Calls

Each earbud is equipped with three high-sensitivity microphones, totalling six across the entire product, ensuring optimal multi-mode audio pickup. With Qualcomm aptX™ Voice technology, these earbuds deliver clear voice pickup during hands-free phone calls, even in noisy environments, for a superior calling experience.

Edifier Comfo C open-ear clip-on earbuds review

The Edifier Comfo C open-ear clip-on earbuds have been in my ears for a bit now and their latest earbud design which is catching on in the market does not disappoint.

Again this is a new style of earbuds now gaining traction in the market and we have tried several to date and these are now getting better each pair we test out.

The presentation is standard here and all you need is in the box and kept simple as always.

The fit is one concern people ask me with these new clip-on earbuds and they fit rather well as any other pair we have reviewed over the last few months and they are secure you can go jogging go to the gym and cycle with these on and with not being a full on in ear earbud you can hear your surroundings which is perfect for those on the move.

They are also comfortable to wear given their design you can wear for hours on end and like any other earbud you will forget they are there in no time.

The sound is quite good here with their 12mm drivers and expected from Edifier and they pack a punch you also have their app to tune things up a little more and now with app access with these earbuds they are getting better and almost like a true in-ear experience most people are custom to these days.

With access to the EDIFIER ConneX App y0u get additional functions: drainage function, personalize control settings, find your earbuds, and some EQ functions making them more favourable over ones out there with no app access.

Highs lows and mids all good no tinny sound no lag latency great bass and decent volume can be had here which is great, you can play/pause skip/reverse tracks basically all you need is here apart from ANC.

You also have decent battery life and calls have been clear on my testing they also have an IP56 rating and overall there is nothing to complain about here and I love the colour we got to checkout see more in the video review below on what to expect.

SoundPEATS POP Clip Review

The SoundPEATS POP Clip has just launched and we had some time to test them beforehand and again with this new clip on ear design I mentioned before we will see more off and this time from SoundPEATS.

The build quality is excellent and robust here as most of these type of earbuds offer a stable hold in the ears some have said on reviewing other similar clip-on earbuds they would fall out but this is not the cas once secured they stay put.

These have an extra benefit over others for some having a button control each side rather than a touch sensitive area giving you more accurate control and less false inputs which is great although thumb memory is key with any new earbuds but buttons do help for some who are not so much into gesture/touch based ones.

Sound is excellent here with the 10.8mm dual  magnet drivers and with the app you get plenty more this time around in the new Peats Audio app which now comes with tracking and gives an audible alert, you can select the controls here to suit your needs and change up the audio with the EQ settings on board we go through this in the video review below and show you what is on offer.

There is an audio test which you should complete to get the best experience it does not take long to do and I always advise this with new earbuds. You also get the choice to have your own custom EQ too which is great but do check out all the other offerings in the app.

There was no lag latency noted or tinny sound when turned up the max which is how it should be and given these do not sit right in your ear canal they still deliver an almost in-ear earbud experience but you also get to hear your surroundings which is good for those who cycle or walk, calls also quite clear to an no issues either end on my testing.

Having tested other products from the brand before the Movie mode is my favourite EQ here so do check this out, another additional feature here with the these left and right sides have automatic adaption so it means it does not matter which side is which when removing or replacing them from the case.

Video Review

Almost two-thirds of car TikToks are misleading

Now more than ever drivers are turning to TikTok for guidance and advice for all things relating to their cars. #CarTok has become a booming niche, with over 876 million videos around tips and hacks, interior trends and more for your vehicle [1].

With a growing number of #CarTok videos, Auto Trader, has analysed over 100 TikTok videos to determine whether the advice given should be followed by drivers or should be met with caution.

The #CarTok niches that should be met with caution

81% of car cleaning videos could lead to more damage to your vehicle

After analysing a sample of car cleaning related videos on TikTok, Auto Trader found that 81% contained tips which should not be followed as they could damage your vehicle.

Many of the ‘hack’ videos used household items like toothpaste or coconut oil to remove marks, while others advised drivers to use items such as a mop to clean the exterior of their car. In some cases, drivers were even advised to attach a toilet brush to a drill to remove dirt from their car mat. While drivers might find using common household objects to clean their cars appealing, Auto Trader advises people to always use specialist products to avoid potential damage from harsh chemicals or unsuitable objects.

90% of car repair videos should be met with caution

TikTok searches for “car repairs” reach a staggering 365,000 searches each month, as an increasing number of drivers are turning to TikTok for help with their vehicles [2]. Many of the car repair videos analysed were from mechanics showing how to professionally fix damages such as car scratches or how to perform a car service. While these videos offer practical advice, these hacks shouldn’t be followed if you are inexperienced as it could lead to more damage in the long run.

The #CarTok niches with the most helpful advice

72% of car maintenance tips are helpful to drivers

Many drivers may not understand the preventative maintenance checks they can do regularly to spot any issues ahead of time, with drivers increasingly turning to TikTok for advice on car maintenance.

Auto Trader’s research found that 72% of car maintenance videos are helpful to drivers. Many of these TikTok videos were created by professionals offering accurate, detailed and useful advice. Some tips included how to check your shock absorbers, prepping your vehicle for colder weather conditions and how to check your oil and tyre pressure.

68% of driving tips videos are helpful, especially for learner drivers

TikTok is known for its short form content, allowing complex information to be condensed into more manageable chunks. Many of the videos around driving tips are targeted towards learner drivers. 68% of these videos offer practical advice for learner drivers and are often created by driving instructors. They provide practical tips ahead of your driving test or how to know when you’re ready to take your test.

Erin Baker, Editorial Director at Auto Trader comments: “TikTok is becoming one of the go-to search engines, offering inspiration and education content from experienced creators. But drivers should be wary as many videos on TikTok are intended to shock audiences and to gain traction and engagement. We found that a staggering 59% of the videos offer advice that is not recommended to drivers and could potentially leave your vehicle with more damage if followed.”

Lease vehicle owners should be cautious of car hacks they see online. While these tips might offer quick, cost-effective solutions, they can lead to further damage that your lease agreement won’t cover. Although maintenance packages within your lease agreement cover basic wear and tear, drivers are advised to consult professionals to avoid any unexpected charges at the end of their agreement.

Irish Motor Insurance Database Implemented to Help Detect Uninsured Vehicles and Drivers – Each year insurance claims for uninsured vehicles cost €60-€70 million

The Motor Insurers’ Bureau of Ireland (MIBI) in cooperation with Insurance Ireland, An Garda Síochána and the Department of Transport, has implemented a central insurance database which is referred to as the Irish Motor Insurance Database (IMID) which will help identify uninsured vehicles and drivers. This database is underpinned by Legislation under Section 78A of the Road Traffic and Roads Act (2023) which requires all insurers to provide motor policy information to the database.

TEKenable, MIBI’s solution provider, working closely with the insurance industry, through Insurance Ireland and the MIBI, identified the need to provide an efficient and cost-effective solution for insurers and the Gardai to meet the obligations placed on them by the legislation.  Tekenable designed and developed the Irish Motor Insurance Database (IMID) which will assist the Gardai in enforcement of the insurance requirements in the Road Traffic Act. This will ultimately help to reduce uninsured driving which in turn will reduce premiums and help to improve road safety.

“In Ireland, it’s compulsory for all vehicles to have motor insurance.  If any person suffers physical injury and property damage that’s caused by an uninsured vehicle, MIBI will deal with the claim and pay compensation to the victim.  MIBI, as a not for profit organisation, is financed by levies on the insurance industry. These levies are ultimately paid by law abiding insured motorists with €30-€35 included in the premium paid by drivers,” explains Tom O’Brien, Technical Claims Manager at MIBI.  “This puts an extra burden on law abiding drivers and motor insurance companies while the person with an uninsured vehicle attempts to get away without paying anything.”

The IMID integrates with the underwriting platforms at approximately 40 insurers and collects data on a nightly basis from each insurer. This data is processed overnight and then shared with An Garda Síochána who make it available to front-line Gardai via their internal systems and mobility devices. The MIBI also plans to share the data with the National Vehicle & Driver File (NVDF) at the Department of Transport.

The IMID is one of the largest financial services databases in Ireland today as it contains details on over 3 million vehicles and over 5 million drivers that are insured to drive those vehicles.

The complex and sensitive data in the database will allow Gardai, the Department of Transport and the MIBI to see real-time insurance data pertaining to motor vehicles and their drivers.

“The new system delivers a secure database that connects insurers, MIBI, the Department of Transport and the Gardai, giving them highly secure access to motor insurance data at any time,” concludes Tom.  “The data in IMID facilitates live access to insurance data by Gardai at the road side through their mobile devices.  This is a gamechanger as it allows the Gardai to check the insurance status of both vehicles and drivers that they have stopped.  This will help reduce uninsured driving and improve road safety.”

EDIFIER Proudly Announces New True Wireless Earbuds – NeoDots

Edifier International, the award-winning audio electronics designer, announces the NeoDots True Wireless earbuds featuring a hybrid driver unit combined with a digital signal processor for the optimum in sound quality.

The combination of dynamic drivers and balanced armature drivers in audio equipment allows a broad frequency response, where dynamic drivers effectively manage low frequencies, delivering deep and rich bass, whilst the balanced armature drivers handle mid and high frequencies ensuring clear and detailed treble. This synergy results in a well-rounded sound profile that enhances the listening experience across different music genres and audio content.

The digital signal processor (DSP) enhances audio quality by optimizing balance and clarity, while the active crossover efficiently divides the audio signal into distinct frequency bands—sending low frequencies to the dynamic driver and mid/high frequencies to the balanced armature (BA) driver. This dual-driver arrangement gives superior sound quality, offering improved clarity, detail, and an overall balanced listening experience.

Premium Quality Sound

Experience exceptional audio performance with Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification. The hybrid driver units, which include balanced armature and 10mm dynamic drivers, work in tandem with advanced digital signal processing and an active crossover to deliver superior sound quality. Battery Life

Enjoy up to 17 hours of playtime on a single charge, with an impressive total of 56 hours when utilizing the charging case. A 15-minute charge provides an additional 5 hours of use.

Crystal Clear Calls

AI algorithms enhance the performance of earbuds by focusing on specific sound sources, like a user’s voice, while filtering out background noise. This results in clearer and more accurate audio during hands-free calls, ensuring that conversations are easily intelligible even in noisy environments.

Bluetooth v5.4

Bluetooth V5.4 enhances audio streaming and its multipoint connection feature enables users to effortlessly switch between music, videos and calls on two devices simultaneously, making it convenient for multitasking and enhancing the overall user experience.

Game Mode

The 80ms low latency audio in gaming mode ensures that sound effects and in-game actions are synchronized in real time, providing a more immersive and responsive gaming experience. This minimal delay allows gamers to react swiftly to audio cues, enhancing gameplay and overall performance during competitive scenarios.

Easy To Use
