CHERRY XTRFY INTRODUCES MAGNETIC SWITCH KEYBOARDS WITH TMR TECHNOLOGY

In time for CES 2026, CHERRY’s gaming peripherals brand CHERRY XTRFY announces its first keyboards with magnetic switches. Unlike manufacturers relying on Hall effect sensing, CHERRY uses tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) technology, delivering greater precision and significantly lower power consumption. For gamers, that means going wireless without sacrificing the performance or customisability of a magnetic keyboard.

“The demand for magnetic switch keyboards keeps growing, but with TMR, we’re taking it further. The MX 8.2 Pro TMR delivers ultra-fast wireless performance and everything users expect from a magnetic keyboard, but with higher precision and more flexibility. With hot-swap support for both magnetic and mechanical switches, the typing experience can be customized in more ways than ever. And this is just the beginning. CHERRY XTRFY MX 8.2 Pro TMR Wireless. More than magnetic.

The MX 8.2 Pro TMR Wireless is a sturdy tenkeyless keyboard with an aluminium top frame and PBT keycaps. Inside, CHERRY MK Crystal Magnetic switches are powered by advanced TMR sensing, registering input with 0.01 mm precision. All with a smooth, linear typing feel.

Thanks to TMR’s efficiency, the keyboard runs wirelessly with an 8000 Hz polling rate. Reporting up to eight times every millisecond, it enables your computer to react faster to every keystroke.

With CHERRY MagCrate software, every keystroke is customisable, from actuation points to assigning multiple actions to a single key based on press depth or duration. It gives gamers the control and features needed to improve their play.

The keyboard also features dual hot-swap support, allowing you to switch between magnetic and mechanical switches across most keys. Built in a compact TKL layout, the MX 8.2 Pro TMR Wireless is designed for competitive gaming and everyday performance alike.

CHERRY XTRFY K5 Pro TMR. Magnetic precision in a compact format.

The K5 Pro TMR builds on the popular K5 keyboard – known for its high level of customisation – with a new magnetic switch setup. This corded model features CHERRY MK Crystal Magnetic switches with TMR sensing, offering improved precision and expanded customisability through CHERRY MagCrate software. With a compact 65% layout, it caters to gamers who prefer a smaller footprint.

In addition to the switch upgrade, the K5 Pro TMR raises the polling rate from 1000 Hz to 8000 Hz. The result is a performance-focused addition to the TMR series, complementing it with a new size and price point.

Availability and pricing.

The MX 8.2 Pro TMR Wireless will be launched on January 29th, with an RRP of £199,99.

The K5 Pro TMR Compact is scheduled to launch this spring, with pricing to be announced closer to the release date.

Mitsubishi Electric Acquires Irish Air-conditioning Company, Crystal Air Holdings Limited, to Strengthen EU Data Centre Offering

Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. today announces it has concluded an agreement with Irish air-conditioning installation and maintenance company, Crystal Air Holdings Limited, to acquire all of the shares in the company.

Crystal Air’s sector expertise paired with its installation and maintenance capabilities will boost Mitsubishi Electric’s strategic business offering and ensure the company is well positioned to respond to increased demand in IT cooling and data centre solutions across Europe.

The acquisition of Crystal Air follows Mitsubishi Electric’s establishment of MEHITS (Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems S.p.A.), that specialises in applied air-conditioning solutions for comfort, process, and IT cooling.

Shinji Kurita CEO and President MEU explains: “Through the establishment of MEHITS, and now with the acquisition of Crystal Air, we have created a strong platform to meet the growing demand in the data centre sector. Tech Review – Foluu Crystal Clear Case for Honor 200 Pro 5G

The Foluu Crystal Clear Case for Honor 200 Pro 5G is one of few cases now available for this device there is several other variants on offer from the company but this one seems the best being TPU all round.

HONOR do have a case on their site but not available to buy just yer so keep an eye out for that which looks like it will be similar.

There is air pocket bumpers on the corner of this case and raised edges on the sides giving you extra protection the camera array is also protected which is good with a small lip on this which is not seen to often rather than sitting around the hump, the phone will still rock if you are typing on a flat surface.

There is more grip here too and tactile keys and you can wirelessly charge your device, as for how long this takes to yellow I cant give that answer now but will as time goes on other than that is a good start to protect your phone.

Tech Review – ACEFAST Crystal 2 T8 earbuds

Earbuds come in all shapes and sizes and we have seen them all covering the biggest range in Ireland. We thought we had seen them all until now.. These are quite different in all aspects including the case and bring a decent presentation too which for me at first gives a great impression.

When we first opened these the case itself was what grabbed my attention and it will grab yours too. But back to the presentation, it is excellent with a nice cover display with plenty of detail and then you remove that to get another presentation inside showing the contents through a plastic cover. Inside then you get the booklets and so on your USB-C cable the tips are in a clear case and then you get a case holder and lanyard strap which overall is a nice decent package as a whole which is great..

But it is the earbuds and case where it is at on an aesthetic look, you have a (3D embossed display) charge reading with numbers and lines and the case lights up and breathes when charging and it just looks cool it is a pity it did not change colours to suit the range of colour options they have which could be implemented with an App which I am sad to report there is not but this is fine they still look super cool in the case and watching them charge up and see the insides which would be for the real techies out there.

The case itself is also different as it does not slide or flip open, the earbuds are housed in the side of the case and drop out which is new and cool and they are solid in there so do not worry about them falling out either.. But in other news this case is one of the best I have seen and how it implements technology with the breathing light and more which you will see in the video review below, I want to see more of this.

The earbuds themselves are also shaped different with a curve on the stem and fit really well in the ears and there is a touch area on each earbud to change things around, there is some features missing here but they have the basics and next thing is you will want to know is how they sound right?

Ok so they have no app to start with and this could have changed things up a gear however it is fine if you just want a pair of earbuds that sound good and just work which is what they do. I am always one to complain about the lack of an app but sometimes this is not required and this is one of those times due to how they sound out of the box.

We have our controls nicely placed on these it must be said with the contour shape of them they are in a spot where your finger will naturally tap so no missing commands when you tap.  You can skip and reverse tracks lower and higher the volume play and pause and manage calls also included is game mode and you have a voice assistant. Calls are pretty decent too with a dual mic and ENC and were fine on my testing.

Overall these are super cool looking earbuds and one thing people ask when you see all new shiny lights and stuff like that is there a compromise well in this case here not really to be fair they sound great decent volume nice bass no tinny sounds or distortion on max volume and in general just good for an out of the box experience.
