Rhombus Announces Recon, the First Autonomous Physical Security Solution

Rhombus, a leader in cloud-managed physical security, today announced Rhombus Recon, an autonomous physical security solution designed to extend physical security beyond the limits of fixed cameras.

Rhombus Recon solves the problem of what is happening outside the view of existing cameras. With Rhombus Recon, companies can autonomously or manually dispatch a robot to do a closer investigation or patrol of a particular event. Additional situational awareness is provided by the broader Rhombus platform of AI Cameras, Sensors, Access Control, and Alarm Monitoring which together, is the first solution of its kind.

Harnessing the power of advanced AI, Recon takes patrolling and investigations to new levels by allowing customers to take specific actions based on what it sees. For example, Recon can be dispatched to check how well stocked the shelves of a store are, or whether a bathroom is clean, or even if there is a potential intruder coming in the back door. When paired with Rhombus Insights, Recon can provide operational data across all aspects of an organization.

“With Rhombus Recon, we aim to give every organization the equivalent of an extra person that is available 24/7 to be an extra set of eyes and ears.” says Brandon Salzberg, CTO at Rhombus. “Leveraging AI and LLM’s, these robots can complete complex assignments, and we view them becoming an essential part of the operations of most companies.”

Examples of how Rhombus Recon can support operations include:
Proactive incident response
If a Rhombus camera detects a potential intruder, the system can dispatch a robot to investigate the area. The robot can approach the scene, stream live video to operators through the Rhombus Console, and trigger automated deterrents or escalation workflows through Rhombus Alarm Monitoring.

Automated inspections
Facilities teams can program a robot to follow scheduled routes through warehouses, manufacturing environments, or campuses. During patrols, the system can collect video evidence, perform safety checks, and generate alerts when anomalies are detected.

Mobile gap coverage
Large outdoor environments such as construction sites, logistics yards, and storage facilities often contain areas where installing fixed cameras is difficult or cost-prohibitive. Recon enables mobile patrols that continuously monitor these areas and stream footage back to the Rhombus platform, transforming previously unmonitored spaces into actively
monitored security zones.

How Rhombus Recon Extends Physical Security
• Mobile situational awareness – Uses data from Rhombus cameras, sensors, and access control systems to understand and navigate environments.
• AI-powered analysis – Applies advanced AI to detect threats, safety risks, or operational anomalies.
• Autonomous or on-demand dispatch – Robots can be triggered automatically by events or deployed manually by operators.
• Fleet management – Security teams can monitor and control multiple robots across locations through the Rhombus Console.
• Integrated response workflows – Recon connects with Rhombus Alarm Monitoring to enable escalation, live verification, and coordinated response.

The platform is designed to work with robotics manufacturers including Boston Dynamics, Unitree, and others allowing organizations to deploy autonomous security across a range of robotic form factors.

As organizations face increasing security demands and ongoing labor shortages, autonomous solutions like Rhombus Recon can help augment security teams by performing patrols, inspections, and investigations across large or complex environments.

Availability
Rhombus will demonstrate an early version of Rhombus Recon at ISC West in Las Vegas from March 23–27 (booth #L18). Organizations interested in learning more about autonomous mobile security or joining the early access program can visit

What to Choose Between PC and Console in Gaming

The debate between PC and console gaming has fueled countless online discussions, especially as technology continues to evolve. With new consoles like the PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Series X pushing performance boundaries—and gaming PCs offering unmatched customization—many players are asking: Which is truly better for gaming in 2025?

Choosing between a PC or a console depends on your budget, playstyle, performance expectations, and gaming goals. This article breaks down every major factor to help you make the right decision. Meanwhile, explore the connection with Tongits go real money and GameZone today, with GZone.

1. Performance and Graphics

When it comes to pure power, gaming PCs still take the lead. A well-built PC can deliver ultra-high frame rates, ray tracing, and crisp 4K resolution. You can also upgrade components like your GPU, CPU, or RAM whenever necessary, keeping your system future-proof and adaptable.

Modern gaming PCs with NVIDIA RTX 40-series or AMD RX 7000-series cards can outperform most consoles, providing smoother gameplay and higher graphical detail.

Consoles, however, are no longer far behind. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X deliver excellent visuals and stable frame rates straight out of the box. Developers optimize their games specifically for these systems, allowing them to perform beyond what their specs might suggest.

Verdict: Choose a PC if you value maximum performance and customization. Choose a console if you want optimized, consistent visuals without worrying about upgrades.

2. Cost and Value

Your budget often decides your platform. Consoles are far more affordable upfront. A new PlayStation or Xbox typically costs between ₱25,000 and ₱35,000 in the Philippines and is ready to use immediately.

PCs, on the other hand, have a wide range of prices. Entry-level builds start around ₱40,000, while high-end rigs can exceed ₱150,000. The investment is higher, but a PC offers greater flexibility—you can use it for work, school, streaming, and creative projects in addition to gaming.

Over time, PC gaming can actually be cheaper. Platforms like Steam, Epic Games, and PC Game Pass regularly offer discounts, free titles, and bundles. Console games, meanwhile, tend to maintain their prices longer, though subscription services like PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass help offset that.

Verdict: Consoles are more affordable at first, but PCs provide better long-term value and utility.

3. Game Library and Exclusives

Both platforms have impressive libraries, but they appeal to different types of gamers.

Consoles—particularly PlayStation—are known for exclusives such as The Last of Us, God of War, and Spider-Man 2. These titles define their systems and are often the reason players stay loyal to a brand. Xbox, meanwhile, leverages Game Pass, offering hundreds of downloadable games for one monthly fee.

PC gamers enjoy the largest and most diverse library in the industry. From AAA blockbusters to indie gems, nearly every major game is available. Many older or niche titles can also be played through emulators. Furthermore, several PlayStation exclusives are now being ported to PC, closing the gap between the two.

Verdict: Choose a console if you love exclusives and simple access. Choose a PC if you prefer a massive selection and the freedom to explore indie or modded games.

4. Controls and Customization

Consoles are built for simplicity. Plug in the controller, sit back, and start playing. The control layouts are intuitive and standardized across most titles, making them easy for everyone to use.

PCs, however, give you far more options. You can play using a keyboard and mouse, a console controller, or specialized gear like flight sticks or racing wheels. You can also fine-tune every detail—from key bindings to graphics settings—to perfectly suit your playstyle.

Verdict: Consoles offer easy comfort and accessibility, while PCs deliver deeper control and competitive precision.

5. Online Experience and Ecosystem

Both platforms offer strong online systems, but their approaches differ.

Consoles use integrated services such as PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for multiplayer access, cloud saves, and monthly free games. The experience is smooth and well-maintained but requires a subscription.

PC gaming, on the other hand, offers free online play in most cases. Steam, Epic Games Store, and other platforms provide multiplayer access without added cost, plus community hubs, mod support, and early-access programs.

Verdict: Consoles provide a unified and polished online ecosystem, while PCs offer free and flexible online play.

6. Portability and Convenience

Consoles are designed for instant fun. You can turn them on and start playing within seconds, no driver updates or software tweaks needed. They’re ideal for living-room gaming or quick sessions after work.

PCs can take longer to set up, and desktop systems aren’t very portable. However, modern gaming laptops have made great strides in balancing performance and mobility, giving you the freedom to play anywhere.

Verdict: Choose a console for convenience and quick access. Choose a PC if portability and versatility matter more.

7. Community and Modding

One of the greatest advantages of PC gaming is modding. Players can modify games to change graphics, add new features, or even create entirely new experiences. Communities around games like Skyrim, The Sims 4, and GTA V thrive because of this creative freedom.

Consoles limit user-created content to maintain security and consistency, although some games like Minecraft and Skyrim support curated mod packs.

Verdict: PC gaming wins for creativity and community engagement. Consoles offer a controlled but stable experience.

8. Making the Final Choice

The best platform for you depends on your gaming style and priorities.

If you are a casual gamer who values simplicity, reliability, and exclusive titles, a console is the better fit. It offers an enjoyable plug-and-play experience with minimal setup or technical worries.

If you are a competitive gamer, streamer, or creative user, a PC is the superior choice. It gives you unmatched control, power, and freedom to modify both hardware and software.

Budget-conscious players may prefer consoles for their affordability, but if you want a system that doubles as a productivity tool and entertainment hub, investing in a PC pays off in the long run.

Ultimately, neither platform is objectively better—they just serve different purposes. PCs offer the ultimate freedom, while consoles provide the ultimate convenience.

Did the ‘Console Wars’ Prove PC is Still the Best Option for Gamers?

The so-called “console wars” have been raging for decades, with each new generation of PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles promising better graphics, more immersive experiences, and exclusive games. And yet throughout all the excitement, there’s one question that keeps resurfacing: has the console battle actually highlighted that PC gaming might still be the ultimate platform for serious gamers?

Let’s take a closer look at what the console wars have taught us – and how they might have actually highlighted the enduring strengths of PC gaming.

The Rivalry of Consoles

Every console generation brings a new wave of hype. When Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X were released, both companies saw record-breaking demand. Fans spent weeks refreshing online store pages in the hopes of snagging one. In fact, Statista reports even in quarter one of 2024, years after release, the PS5 was still selling approximately 2.4 million units.

These new generation machines are undeniably powerful, with fast SSDs, ray tracing, and 4K output. With services like Xbox Game Pass, the value proposition has never been higher. But there are limits, particularly in terms of flexibility, upgradeability, and raw power – areas where PCs continue to shine.

Affordability is Complicated

One of the most common arguments in favour of consoles is price. A PS5 or Xbox Series X costs significantly less than a top-tier gaming PC. That’s true, at least initially. Over time, the picture becomes more complex.

PC games are often cheaper. Steam sales, Humble Bundles, and free game giveaways through platforms like the Epic Games Store mean PC gamers can build vast libraries at a fraction of the cost. Subscriptions like Xbox Game Pass have improved value for console players, but the games only last as long as your subscription.

You can use a PC for more than just gaming. It doubles as a workstation for content creation, music, streaming, work, or betting on sites like betFIRST Sport. For many, that versatility adds to the value.

Power and Performance

Modern gaming PCs have reached incredible levels of performance. With NVIDIA’s RTX 40 series GPUs and high-end AMD Ryzen processors, gamers can achieve visuals and frame rates that consoles simply can’t match. While consoles are often locked to 30 or 60 frames per second, many PC gamers enjoy 144Hz or higher refresh rates at ultra settings, especially in competitive titles.

Not only that, but PCs are modular, allowing you to upgrade your graphics card or add more RAM. Consoles, by contrast, are “locked”. Once you hit a hardware ceiling, you’re stuck with it until the next generation rolls around (often years down the line).

PCs also support a broader range of gaming peripherals. Want a racing sim setup with a full steering wheel and pedal set? Or perhaps you prefer a mouse and keyboard for pinpoint accuracy in shooters? Some of these accessories are available for consoles, but PC remains the primary platform for customisation.

Game Selection and Modding Flexibility

Consoles do have the advantage when it comes to exclusive titles. But over time, the gap has narrowed. More and more console exclusives are now being released on PC, often with enhanced graphics and features.

PC also offers access to an incredible library of indie games, early access titles, and mods. Games like Skyrim or The Sims 4 become new experiences thanks to community-created content. Platforms like Steam Workshop have made modding accessible to everyone, and for many gamers, that’s a huge draw.

Then there’s emulation. While not always legal depending on the source of the games, many gamers use their PCs to play titles from older consoles (something that’s trickier on PlayStation or Xbox).

Online Services and Ecosystem

Both Xbox and PlayStation charge users to access multiplayer gaming. Although the services (Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus) include monthly games and discounts, they’re ongoing expenses. Meanwhile on PC, multiplayer is usually free outside of specific subscriptions like World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy XIV.

PC gamers also enjoy a level of control over their ecosystem that console players don’t. You’re not restricted to a single storefront. You can choose between Steam, GOG, Epic, Battle.net, and more. You can tweak graphics settings, install performance-enhancing mods, or even tinker with files to improve performance on older hardware.

So… Did the Console Wars Settle Anything?

The intense competition between consoles may have shown that the PC is still the most balanced and powerful option overall. While consoles have made huge strides, especially in ease of use and exclusives, they remain limited by their fixed hardware, locked ecosystems, and narrower customisation options.

For gamers who want plug-and-play simplicity, consoles are excellent. But for those who want maximum performance, customization, and freedom, the PC continues to stand tall.

In a sense, the real winner of the console wars might be the platform that never really joined the fight.

Maximizing Your Gaming Experience with the Tech You Already Own

Gaming has become a leading form of entertainment in today’s world, offering endless experiences for players of all ages and interests. Whether you’re playing video games on your console, enjoying casual mobile games, or engaging in online gaming experiences, it’s easy to get caught up in the temptation of upgrading to the latest and greatest tech. However, you don’t always need to invest in new gadgets to maximize your gaming experience.

In fact, you can elevate your current gaming setup using the tech you already own. Here’s how to make the most of your existing devices, from your smartphone to your gaming console, without needing to spend a fortune on upgrades.

Optimizing Your Smartphone for Gaming

Casual gaming has gained immense popularity due to the convenience of playing anywhere, anytime. The great news is that if you already own a smartphone, you’re all set for a seamless gaming experience. Smartphones are perfectly suited for simple yet engaging games, like puzzle games, strategy games, and even multiplayer experiences.

Similarly, online casino games, such as slots, blackjack, or roulette, are readily available on most smartphones, offering you the thrill of real-money gaming from wherever you are. Bettors can wager via apps on their phones or visit betting sites. There are domestic sites and international sites available to all bettors. In recent years many bettors have begun visiting international non GamStop casinos in the UK as they seek out flexible options that bypass the UKGC’s tough GamStop rules and regulations. Both domestic and international sites can easily be accessed from a smartphone. This level of accessibility has made gaming, including wagering, more convenient than ever, giving players the freedom to enjoy their favorite games anytime and anywhere.

To get the most out of your gaming experience, start by ensuring your phone is optimized. Close unnecessary apps to improve performance, free up storage space, and keep your operating system up to date. Additionally, if you’re looking to boost your gameplay, consider using a mobile controller that is compatible with your device. There are affordable Bluetooth controllers available that can provide more precise controls, especially for games that require a bit more accuracy.

Enhancing Your PC Setup for Better Performance

For those who already own a gaming PC or a general-purpose computer, there’s no need to rush out and buy a new system. Instead, focus on enhancing the performance of the equipment you already own. Even small tweaks can have a big impact on your gaming experience.

Start by updating your PC’s drivers and game clients to ensure everything is running smoothly. Many performance issues can be solved with a simple update. Additionally, consider adjusting in-game settings to find a balance between visuals and performance. Lowering settings such as texture quality and shadow resolution can improve frame rates, providing you with a smoother experience without sacrificing too much visual appeal.

For those who use their PC for video games, adding accessories like a gaming mouse or mechanical keyboard can increase comfort and performance. A high-quality mouse offers greater precision in games, particularly those requiring fast reflexes or precision, such as shooters or strategy games. Meanwhile, customizing your keyboard with programmable keys can give you an edge in competitive games.

Maximizing Your Console Setup

Console gaming is a favorite for many, and there’s no need to buy a new system when you can enhance your current setup. Whether you have a PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch, there are several ways to get more out of your existing tech.

Start by adjusting settings on your console to optimize the gaming experience. Many consoles offer different performance modes that can be adjusted depending on whether you prioritize graphics or frame rates. For instance, some consoles have “performance mode” that ensures smoother gameplay with higher frame rates, while others offer “resolution mode” for sharper graphics.

Consider investing in a good-quality controller that fits your preferences. If you already own a standard controller, you might want to upgrade to one that offers better ergonomics or additional features like customizable button mapping and better triggers for responsiveness in competitive play. If you like to game for extended periods, an ergonomic chair is essential for comfort and good posture.

Enjoy Online Gaming Without Upgrades

For those who love the thrill of online gaming—whether it’s video games, casual games, or even online casino games—there’s no need for a fancy new gaming rig to enjoy the experience. Your current devices, such as your PC, laptop, or mobile phone, are more than capable of connecting you to a wide variety of online platforms.

Many online gaming platforms, whether they involve wagering, poker, blackjack, or mobile-friendly games, offer a fully immersive experience even with minimal tech requirements. By ensuring your internet connection is fast and stable, you’ll avoid lags or delays that can interfere with your gaming. For those who enjoy socializing while gaming, like in online poker or multiplayer tournaments, using a good headset or even your phone’s microphone will allow you to chat with other players and enjoy the social aspect of gaming.

Set Up a Dedicated Gaming Space Without Additional Costs

Creating an ideal gaming environment at home doesn’t require huge investments. With the tech you already have, you can easily set up a dedicated gaming space. Whether it’s setting up your gaming laptop or desktop in a cozy corner or creating a more expansive gaming station with your console and accessories, maximizing your existing setup is key.

Start by making sure your space is comfortable. Invest in a supportive chair to avoid discomfort during long gaming sessions, and keep your setup organized to minimize distractions. A clean, tidy space will help you focus on the game itself and provide a relaxing environment for your hobby. You can even add personal touches to make the space feel more inviting, such as lighting options or decorations.

Additionally, if you have a desk or table where you play, make sure it has the right ergonomics. A sturdy table, proper lighting, and adequate room for your gaming equipment can all make a big difference in the comfort and convenience of your setup.

UDU launches its handheld motion control console for an immersive, active and unique mobile gaming experience

Danish tech and gaming start-up, UDU, has announced the launch of its UDU CONSOLE and the UDU GAMES app. The idea was born in 2018 when co-founder Asbjørn H. Christensen worked as a design and engineer intern at LEGO and realised that almost all the toys and games that kids and people play, forces them to sit still indoors. From this, UDU was founded in 2019 with a vision to turn inactive gaming into an active and outdoor activity which the UDU CONSOLE aims to do for kids and families alike.

Compatible with smartphones and tablets and with games constantly being added, it is a console that will provide a whole new attitude and experience to mobile gaming and is already a 2022 Platinum winner of the MUSE Produce Design Award. Available on Kickstarter now, backers can gain up to a 40% discount off the usual retail price of $199 for the UDU CONSOLE and 12 months of free subscription to the UDU GAMES app (normal price is a monthly fee of $10).  Backers can expect to get the product in around April 2023 with general sale planned for the summer.

The UDU CONSOLE is the first console for mobile gaming which enables immersive gaming experiences that can be outdoors and active. With 81% of the world’s kids and teens not being physically active enough, the console was developed to tackle this problem. The mobile games that can be played with the console are controlled with physical gestures and the next level motion detection understands the players movements through AI and translates these into meaningful gameplay. This makes the games much more immersive, active and fun to create a gaming experience that is filled with learning. The HD Haptics also make it possible to feel 1:1 what happens in the games through the vibration of a sword as it cuts through the air or the flow of the brush as it touches the canvas – whatever may be happening in the game will feel super real to anyone playing.

Not only featuring impressive AI and Haptics for gameplay, the console has a crisp and clear colour display, RGB LED’s, a trackpad, squeeze button and trigger button to make every game unique and cognitively logical to play. Beginning play is simple and users can just connect the UDU CONSOLE to any smartphone or tablet through Bluetooth and use the UDU GAMES app to access a universe of engaging customised games – most of these based on geo-location – with hundreds of hours of social, learning and entertaining play for kids, teens, adults and the whole family.

The first console to truly be made for the outdoors, it is designed to be sleek and compact whilst also being ergonomic and durable. The sleek console fits naturally into either hand and is incredibly intuitive to use. As an extra safety feature, it also comes with a wristband to keep it securely in the hand of any player – preventing any accidents when the game might be getting competitive and movements more erratic! The durable casing ensures that the console is water repellent and robust so it can be used outside without any worries of breaking if dropped on the floor, in a puddle or caught in a bit of rain.

“With UDU, we set out with a team of industry experts to make an entertaining new gaming experience that is fun, active and outdoors.” Says Asbjørn’s co-founder Christoffer B. Christensen. “Because you move and feel just like your game character, the play becomes so immersive and fun that you don’t even notice that you are moving around and burning calories outdoors.”

Rhythm FPS “BPM: Bullets Per Minute” Confirms Sept Launch on PC, Console Coming Later. #Gaming #BPM

A fast, frenetic shooter with a rhythm that just won’t quit, BPM: Bullets Per Minute turned heads when developer Awe Interactive lifted the lid on its first project back in the Spring. Now the studio can reveal its finely-tuned rhythm FPS will bring its bang-bang-to-the-beats action to Steam for PC on Tuesday 15th September.

BPM: Bullets Per Minute brings the kind of gameplay you’d expect from a dungeon-based shooter to the table, but encases it in a world where every action – every shot, every jump, and every dodge – is pulled off to the beat of an epic rock soundtrack.

The game serves up randomly generated dungeons infested with brilliantly preposterous monsters and tasks players with taking on the role of the mighty Valkyrie. The goal? Take out each and every boss to the beat, and look pretty darn cool while doing so.

“There’s no doubt we were inspired by the retro shooters from when we were growing up when putting BPM: Bullets Per Minute together, but we think the game’s unashamed slave-to-the-rhythm ethic gives it a fresh feel and an added edge,” says Awe Interactive founder David Jones.. “It’s that sweet spot between giving gamers a taste of the supreme shooters they loved when they were young, but also offering them something that genuinely pushes the boundaries of the genres the game straddles.”

BPM: Bullets Per Minute delivers a total of seven bosses players have to topple in order to reach the final boss, collecting an assortment of weapons, abilities, and items as they go, ensuring every playthrough has a unique feel.

All the action plays out to the beat of a barnstorming soundtrack, which takes inspiration from the likes of Wagner, Muse and Audioslave. Every pulse is tied to the in-game action, with the structure of BPM: Bullets Per Minute’s audio pulling everything together to make one cohesive world.

In short, if Brian May were to play games, he’d play BPM: Bullets Per Minute.

BPM: Bullets Per Minute features:

  • Shoot, jump and dodge to the beat while battling hordes of enemies.
  • Fight powerful bosses in challenging boss battles that will push you to the edge.
  • Explore randomly generated dungeons.
  • Choose from 5 different characters with unique strengths and weaknesses.
  • Wield a powerful arsenal of weapons, all with different behaviour for firing and reloading to the beat of the soundtrack.
  • Battle a diverse array of enemies, each with unique rhythmic behaviours.
  • Get overpowered and fire shotgun rockets while flying through the air.
  • Utilise abilities that radically alter the way you play the game, from teleport to freezing bolts.
  • Equip over 40 items that buff your character in unique and interesting ways.
  • Experience an epic rock opera soundtrack.
  • Challenge modes for extra gameplay.

BPM: Bullets Per Minute will launch on Steam for PC this September, with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions following later.
