The ANCwear sports headphones (V7) are a product that we are now seeing more of on the shelf of late and give you a different kind of technology to get your ears around it is not new by any means but the thing to take not of here is the sound is getting better as these do not go into your ears but rest outside them so to speak. I have test many pairs of these over the last year and they are getting better as we go on as expected you would think..These use air- conduction not bone conduction but a similar approach.

These have a simple three button set up and all works really well and simple to use there is no app here to content with so it is connect and play and job done so that also means no EQ to personalise things but these are full of bass but this might not be for everyone but for me a win.

In the video below of course we go through how to use these so you do not have to and it is really simple, the buttons are nicely raised and work well with two on the the top of the earpiece and one on the side offering all the functions you need including voice assistant access skip and reverse tracks higher and lower volume and also call control in which the calls are decent enough.

With these type of headphones you are always aware of your surrounding which is a good thing for those who jog or cycle, for those who commute too but there is some sound leakage on maxxed out volume like all these headphones. With Bluetooth 5.3 on board there was no connection issues and was stable during my testing and not forgetting the IpP67 rating these are really ideal for the outdoors and sports enthusiasts.

The sound is quite good and also a deep bass here with this headset at times there was some distortion maxxed out on volume in certain genres but overall delivered a decent audio experience for what they are and remember they are not the same as earbuds or headphones and we are a while yet before we get near the good quality you would be use to on such but decent enough for me here and done a good good and again it has to be said better than expected and for the cost here to you must take that into account and easy to recommend for such at their cost compared to others in the market.

That means users of massive online platforms such as Netflix, Facebook, and Steam should be prepared to face scams and infostealers, criminals’ current favourite threat.

F-Secured, the complete guide to online security in 2023, cuts through the complexity of the cyber crime landscape to offer a look at what were the biggest threats in 2022 and what risks consumers face now. It also includes simple steps users can take to make their favourite digital activities and connected homes safer, along with predictions about the threats our devices and families will face next.

“Cyber criminals benefit from the fact that we spend so much of our lives online. And they know they can reach us on the online services that we use,” said Laura Kankaala, F‑Secure Threat Intelligence Lead. “Because ultimately what they want is our attention. They want to trick us into acting against our own interests to click on malicious links or download malware. So, they spam our email inboxes, tag us in comments on social media, or send us direct messages in gaming or dating apps.”

F-Secure’s Threat Intelligence found that the most imitated social media platform used to spread phishing threats in 2022 was Facebook, the most popular social network on earth, at 62%. Steam, the largest distribution platform for PC games, was the most popular gaming platform to spoof at 37%.

Criminals have also increasingly used Netflix, the most popular video streaming service in most countries, as a phishing lure. Often criminals play upon consumers’ dependence on the service for entertainment. A common scam notifies a user that the service will be cut off because a recent payment was denied and leads to criminals taking over the account.

“Cyber attacks in general have become very personal,” Kankaala said. “And little is more personal than the credentials that secure our intimate digital moments.”

Infostealers rank as the most common Windows threat, making up 69% of the 30 most common attacks, according to F-Secure’s monitoring of prevalent threats. One of the most popular examples of this threat is the RedLine Stealer thanks to its irresistible business model. Home security is a must have be it indoor or outdoors and yet I hear today so called security experts stating there is no need at all for indoor security cameras. That is a topic at hand for another day should any security expert want to challenge me on that you can certainly fire away but I feel I will be left waiting the same way I was left reeling hering such on our airwaves more than once and is simply a pathetic comment to make.

The Switchbot indoor setup comes in several packages tailored for your needs or you can customise your own they have several bundles on offer or you can make it your own which is cool but do check out the bundles they have and not only that they are amongst the cheapest out there today and while I say cheap I have tried and tested these and avoid the cheap offerings you tend to see on Facebook that will rope you into subscription plans and below par cameras.

In our setup we have a motion sensor and window sensor on the camera side we have a 1080p pan and tilt a 2K pan and tilt and an indoor camera so i strategically place these around the home and at any entry points I seen where the could be a breach so to speak given I do have an external set up around the perimeter of my house

There is an app for these and no hub required unlike the old days when you did need a hub but you can use one if you like as they have hubs available but the less things plugged in the better these days and we just went on without one and all worked well.. ePower Brings 90 EV Charge points to 13 Irish Hotels

Windward Management, a team of experienced hotel operators and investors, have launched 90 new electric vehicle charge points in 13 of their hotel locations nationwide. The charging infrastructure was installed by ePower who supply, install, support and manage electric vehicle chargers throughout Ireland. 

The investment means hotel guests and customers can now easily charge their electric vehicles  during their visit. As the number of EV drivers continues to rise, Windward believes charging facilities are becoming an imperative hotel offering. The newly installed EV chargers will improve ESG factors, promote sustainability, reduce carbon footprint and increase green credentials. 

The electric vehicle charge points are easy to operate with each station displaying a ‘how to use’ guide for users. The charging stations are visible on several EV charging apps such as Plugsurfing, the ePower app and on the internationally used app, PlugShare. 

Executive Director of ePower Hugh Hall says he’s delighted to be partnering with Windward:  “The ePower team was pleased to install EV chargers for the Windward Managed hotels as they work to improve their approach to sustainability. As well as installing the equipment, we’re looking forward to growing our partnership as we manage and maintain the chargers at these Windward properties in the future”.

The initial take-up of the EV chargers among customers has been very positive and they’re being used more regularly every week as awareness grows about their installation.
