Pooductive – An app to talk to others whilst on the toilet. #ToiletTalk #Apps

Yes you read that correctly, there is now an app to talk to others whilst you are sitting on the big white telephone, that be the toilet for those who never have heard that saying….Mostly when i go to the loo i check my twitter or play a quick game of pool or 4 pics one word ,the last thing i would be doing to talk to someone but now you can if this is your thing. You will try it out though, you can even describe your poo to others which is rather crap talk..

Last year this was initially launched  on kickstarter by Ricardo Gruber  but only raised €184 of a €10,000 goal. The app is also about hygiene awareness too..

“While this idea sounds both funny and a little bit ridiculous, it’s our approach on trying to have a positive impact in the world. How? We hope to connect Pooductive with some big charities that focus on both clean water and improving hygiene in developing countries. However, the hype around our app came very quickly and unexpectedly, which means that the “charitable” aspect of Pooductive has not yet been launched. We’re working as fast as we can to realise our mission and get the charities we have already connected to – on board. We hope that through this, Pooductive can have a positive impact – which has always been our intention.”

Described as follows – Think of it as a magical place where people from around the globe can anonymously meet to enjoy their time of zen, peace and tranquility together, by conversing, philosophising and sharing ideas with each other. You can add friends, have group chats or simply enjoy a 1 on 1 conversation.

You could simply call it a messaging app if you wanted to, but it’s so much more. It’s a community, made up of people who are all in the same position as you…pardon the pun. And that is the exact reason why it is so much better and more entertaining then simply reading the back of a shampoo bottle or just playing any other odd game.

Its free and if you fancy chatting to somone in the world whilst you poo you can download HERE

Knock Knock – A new app that might kill the business card.. #knockknock #Apps

Knock Knock is the easiest way to connect, chat and exchange contact information with people around you. By just knocking twice on your phone, Knock Knock remembers the names of the people you’re with and where you met.It might also kill the business card and you can share select information with those close by who are using the app, this makes things easier too..it provides contact with select people with not having to worry about commitment. Knock Knock was created by Humin

For anyone who has ever forgotten a name 10 seconds after meeting someone, has given out a fake number or walked out of a room wishing they’d had the courage to talk to the cute guy a few tables down, the world is about to get much less awkward.

Knock Knock makes any social interaction light and fun. There’s no need to hand over a personal phone number immediately; users can connect first within the app and chat to their heart’s desire, then share as much or as little of their contact details and social media handles (with the option of sharing more down the line).

When connecting with a group of people in the same place, only one person needs to open the app, while everyone else in the group can simply knock twice on their locked phones in their pockets or on the table, and they’ll instantly be added to a group chat. Each person can selectively deal out his or her contact details and social handles to the individuals in the group.

Knock Knock is perfect for:
– Exchanging contact info with people you’ve just met.
– Sharing moments with a group throughout a festival or a weekend away, then staying in touch when you get back.
– Leading a pub crawl or other adventure with a big group.
– Connecting everyone after a dinner party.
– Taking attendance at a meeting
…. and more! Knock Knock is perfect for any time you’re out with people!

#iDMobile is official – KillBiller tells us what we can save. #Ireland #Mobile..#IWANTiD

Its a big day for iDMobile in Ireland today as the new MVNO from Carphone Warehouse is set to shake up the mobile industry and with plans that will be hard to beat, with this the consumer can decide rather than be given set plans which are on offer, one big thing is goodbye to the 2 year contracts too which will be most welcome.

Shane Lynn explains..

  • iD mobile launches today Thursday the 20th of August and set to deliver some welcome competition in the mobile industry
  • KillBiller, Ireland’s independent mobile plan recommender app, have reviewed their pricing structure and found that iD will significantly undercut many of their competitors
  • The flexibility of iD’s pricing is at odds with many other Irish operators who lock consumers into 2-year contracts.
  • Based on our analysis, the packages that will suit a large number of people will be 3GB data, 250 minutes, and 100 texts – matching the usage profile of smartphone users at the moment. This will come in at a cost of €18.50 per month.
  • All iD plans are available in the KillBiller application
  • KillBiller is the perfect tool for people who want to work out what package is best for them, and all pricing and switching details are now available.

Impact of iD on competitiveness in the Irish mobile market

KillBiller analysed a database of over 15,000 Irish mobile users and over 350 plans as part of a comprehensive report. The report looks at the impact of iD, as Ireland’s newest mobile operator, on the Irish mobile market.

  • iD will be the most competitive 4G operator for over 75% of Irish customers.
  • Its closest competitor in the 4G space will be Three, who will have the cheapest 4G plan for 14.3% of users.
  • When you consider both 3G and 4G, iD will be the best value for just under one in three Irish smartphone users (31.5%).
  • Tesco Mobile is the cheapest overall for four in ten users (42.4%), however, it should be noted that none of the Tesco Mobile plans include 4G data.
  • Vodafone is the most expensive operator on 3G and 4G; it is only best value for 1.8% of users.
  • iD will have 125 possible plan combinations. This means a lot of choice for consumers, but may lead to confusion in selecting the right plan.
  • iD report that users can change their allocations during a contract. This is welcome for consumers as many contracts are fixed for periods of 18 or 24 months.
  • There is no 4G price premium on iD plans
  • Prepay and Billpay plans are the same price and handsets are priced separately.
  • The average SIM-only plan on iD will cost customers just €20.81 per month, this is €166* per annum less than the average billpay cost per user across the Irish market.

*Based on ComReg Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) and assuming all users in the KillBiller dataset are billpay customers. ARPU is the average monthly revenue per user as defined by the ComReg.

#Android “M” is Android Marshmallow by @Tiwaash #Android6

There were speculations all around when Google introduced the newest version of Android at its annual developer summit a few days back, the preview was known as ‘Android M’ and the company did not reveal what M stands for. Everyone were trying to coin, what the “M” stood for and whether it is going to be an overhaul to Android 5.0 or a major update!

Google has announced that the latest iteration of Android will be called as ‘Marshmallow’.

Google has released the finished version of Android 6.0 SDK and the software preview can be loaded on compatible Nexus smartphones. According to the company, the preview images are near final, but they are not intended for consumer use just yet.

If you flash the software preview on your devices right away then you have to manually re-flash your devices to a factory image to continue to receive consumer OTA updates for your Nexus device when Android 6.0 Marshmallow launches to the public later this fall.

Android Marshmallow comes with a slew of new features, but here are some of the notable ones –

  • Users now have more control over what information applications can use.
  • Integration of Android Pay mobile wallet platform.
  • Native support for USB Type-C and fingerprint sensors.
