In the UK Sky News reports that there is new powers brought in so that Police and Security Services can check your mobile without any warrant and store it on file for up to a year, this is also something that could happen here which will not go down to well…
The web browsing history of every person in the UK will be recorded for a year, under new legislation being announced by the Home Secretary later.
Police and security services will be able to access that data – which will include all the sites a person visits, but not the individual pages within that site – without a warrant.
The new draft Investigatory Powers Bill is an attempt to bring many different surveillance powers of the security services and police under one comprehensive piece of legislation.
Chris Phillips, the former head of the National Counter Terrorism Security Office, told Sky News: “The world has moved on so quickly: people communicate on many different means, whether it’s WhatsApp, whether it’s Facebook, whether it’s email or telephone.
Kieran Fitzgerald from Limerick has been looking for an on-line business opportunity for some time now and has recognised the ongoing growth of smart technology and the internet as a whole.Kieran has set up a new company called Funky Media Group to roll out the funkystamp business model nationwide.
“Funky Stamp allows businesses create their own branded app for smartphone or tablet with the use of a unique stamp that is pressed against a customer’s smartphone to register a transaction on the loyalty program. Allowing them to discard the loyalty cards that we all carry in our wallets and eventually forget where we left them when we need them.” Says Kieran..
“When we create an app for the customer, the name Funkystamp does not appear anywhere and as far as the customer is concerned the business went off and got their own app built by a web developer.”
The long term goal for the business would be to develop a reseller community where we would provide them with their own website identical to FunkyStamp.com such as: FunkyStampGalway, FunkyStampCork etc around the country and further afield such as FunkyStampLondon, FunkyStamp Glasgow etc. These resellers would be in business for themselves but all admin etc would be done by a dedicated account manager from the Funky Media Group which will allow the resellers to focus on generating new customer sales in their own county location only with all account activity for their county handled by Funky Media Group.
This is a really nice idea and brings the loyalty card to the current era, current loyalty cards are not really effective as they have been for many years, they can get lost and damaged, cant be tracked, costly to the company that uses them, take for example your typical free coffee at your petrol station,I loose these all the time and often the case you see them on the floor, this idea eliminates the need to carry any card which also makes you wallet lighter too rather than stuffed with countless cards that get thrown out after a while.
Check out funkystamp.com for more and let us know what you think.

Sky news reports..
MIT computer science researchers have developed a sensor that sends radio signals through a wall and can identify the shapes of people who are on the other side. This is planned to launch commercially in 2016.
It works by monitoring the radio signals as they bounce back off a person, and the device stiches these signals together to create an identifiable silhouette.
The system isn’t perfect – yet. It can identify between five people with 95.7% accuracy and 15 people with 88.2% accuracy.Researchers also managed to identify which body part someone was moving while standing almost three metres away.
Good news at last for the consumer, but will this earner for mobile networks cause an increase elsewhere for mobile users, this remains to be seen..One thing is for sure now that if we are roaming we can now forget about coming home to shock bills which has seen an increase over the years especially when it comes to data usage which is now used more than ever before..This has been a long heel dragging exercise and finally now its over..
From next April, roaming fees – charged in addition to domestic prices – will be capped at 0.05 euros (5C) per minute, while for text messages they will be capped at 0.02 euros (2C) and for data at 0.05 euros (5C) per MB of data, excluding VAT.
European Commission vice president Andrus Ansip said: “The voice of Europeans has been heard. Today’s vote is the final result of intense efforts to put an end to roaming charges in the European Union and to safeguard the open internet.”
This will take a sizeable chunk out of your phone bill ones it kicks in but remember this is not for a long while yet and only covers the EU..

This number has been calling some Irish folk and its one to avoid,it will either call you and hang up and for some they will ring back, this is a premium number and will just eat your credit,if you see this number just ignore it and add to your block list if your device allows to do so,you can also request your provider to block the number,it seems to be originating in London which cross checks with Tellows number search..
Alternatively you can use apps to block numbers too which can be got from the respective app stores..
These particular calls are not really new but its important to keep up with the numbers and pass on the info, there is people that are vulnerable and being a UK number anyone with relatives or friends, perhaps even work could easily fall for it…This number is still active and when you call it you get some really crappy music to listen to..
Fancy a pair of new earbuds that charge via your smartphone well here is something new for you to think of and Suzanne Campbell tells us more about this new idea..
Pugz is a fresh Kickstarter project offering the world’s first wireless earbuds that can be charged through your phone. Unlike other wireless earbud solutions on the market, Pugz enables you to listen and charge at the same time, allowing you to continue to use them even when they run out of batteries. To use, listeners simply need to place their phones next to them, requiring no annoying cords to connect the two.
The key technology behind Pugz earbuds is what is called “The Squircle”—a patent-pending self-guided magnetic connector that enables users to listen and charge simultaneously. This allows Pugz earbuds to be small and lightweight, unlike competing wireless earbuds. If your battery is low, simply “Squircle” your Pugz earbuds using a charging cable and charge via a computer (USB), AC-Adaptor (USB), Android (micro-USB), or iPhone (Lightning).
Pugz earbuds require only 3 percent of a smart phone’s battery capacity to fully charge, providing 4.5 hours of usage.
While being compact and lightweight, Pugz earbuds utilize powerful speakers and proprietary audio codec to deliver a rich sound to the listener.
With Pugz, individuals on their phone can: adjust volume, play/pause/skip tracks, start and end calls, and activate Siri or Google voice command.
