Run into the future with #Adidas Future craft 3D By @VicenteA_George #3dprint #Running

The worldwide known trainer manufacturer Adidas wants to take craftsmanship to the next level with its recently announced Futurecraft 3D their shoes LITERALLY “made-for-you”.

</aAdidas made public a new project they have in hands, developing their own propietary 3D printing technology they want to make a running shoe that fits every single shape and mark of your foot. A 3D-printed running shoe midsole which can be tailored to the cushioning needs of each foot.

This Futurecraft 3D story is the first chapter on the Adidas Futurecraft Series:

”  Futurecraft is our sandbox. It is how we challenge ourselves every day to explore the boundaries of our craft. Driving material and process innovation, bringing the familiar into the future. Marrying the qualities of handcrafting and prototyping with the limitless potential of new manufacturing technologies. Futurecraft is stripped back – fast, raw and real – it is our approach to design.”
    Paul Gaudio, Creative Director, Adidas

Futurecraft 3D is possible through an open source partnership with Materialise , a pioneer and leading specialist in 3D printing.

What we will have here is something I personally wish for every time I go in the venture of buying a pair of shoes.

Let’s imagine this: you’re going to the Adidas store to buy a new pair of shoes, you find the model you like but when asking the sales team about your size availability they tells you that they don’t have that size (something that happens almost every single time to me).

With Futurecraf 3D all you need to do is run briefly on a treadmill and instantly getting a 3D-printed running shoe (The Adidas 3D-printed midsole)

Creating a flexible, fully breathable carbon copy of the person’s own footprint, matching exact contours and pressure points, it will set the person up for the best running experience. Linked with existing data sourcing and “foot scan” technologies they can give everything you need.

Futurecraft 3D is a prototype and a statement of intent. We have used a one-of-its-kind combination of process and material in an entirely new way. Our 3D-printed midsole not only allows us to make a great running shoe, but also to use performance data to drive truly bespoke experiences, meeting the needs of any athlete.
Eric Liedtke, Executive Board Member of adidas AG, responsible for Global Brands

In its 3D concept, Adidas provides the ultimate personalised experience for all athletes, creating a unique combination of material and process. The production breakthrough will take the running shoe standard to the next level, offering unprecedented individualised support, to enable athletes to perform at their best.

Of course you will surely ask “What if it rains?” or “What if I stepped on something unpleasant?” Remember this is just the prototype and as you’d expect upgrades sure will be made.

What do you think of this new idea of Adidas? Are you going to try one yourself if they make it to your local market?

Samsung launched the Z3 with Tizen in India By @VicenteA_George #Tizen #Samsung

Last year the Korean manufacturer Samsung introduced the Z1 an entry level phone backed up with their own OS Tizen.

Now they decided to extend the family with the new kid on the block the also low-end Samsung Z3

At simple sight the Z3 could easily be mistaken with a member of the Galaxy family, but when we take a closer look we realize that the back is made from plastic.

As said before this is not a high-end model despite the appearance, take a look at the specs:

A 5″ Super AMOLED display (720×1,280)

A Quad-core Spreadtrum chip

1GB of RAM

8GB of internal storage (With Micro SD slot up to 128GB)

8MP rear camera

5MP front-facing shooter with 120-degree

And  2,600mAh battery

All that powered by Tizen OS in version 2.3

In the connectivity department you’ll have WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth® 4.0 BLE, GPS and GLONASS

The only really downgrade is that you will not have 4G connectivity, unfortunately there’s just 3G on board.

Following the steps of his big siblings this little boy also features an “Ultra Data Saving Mode’” that minimizes mobile data usage and an “Ultra Power Saving Mode” for continuous performance with low battery life.

One thing that has the Tizen behind other OS is the lack of apps as you’ll normally hear from any rising OS.

But as a bonus you’ll have the MixRadio app, one of the most personalized music services.

All in all is a good phone for trying new stuff.

The phone is already available to purchase in India for INR 8490 which translate into €114,25 (£84.68) or $131 in your choice of Gold, Black and Silver, but there’s no word about if this model will be available in other countries.

PUZZLEPHONE Goes Ahead with a new Concept- PUZZLECLUSTER by @Tiwaash #PuzzlePhone #Tech

Sometime back we had an exclusive interview with the team of PuzzlePhone and we were pretty much impressed by the whole concept of dividing the phone into The Spine, Brain and Heart & still keeping it affordable allowing the users to just change the module which needs an upgrad. You can know about PuzzlePhone here. Moving ahead, PuzzlePhone is in news again & yet again for a unique solution to improve the life of the product and reduce the electronic waste.

The team at PuzzlePhone has come up with a new solution and they say “There is life even afterlife. At Circular Devices we believe that a product’s life cycle can be extended beyond its initial planned usage, thereby delaying its obsolescence. With electronic waste becoming an increasing threat for our planet, we took it upon ourselves to find an alternative to the inevitable disposal of your device”.

Here is the detailed explanation of what PUZZLECLUSTER project is all about:

Even if your smartphone can no longer deliver the performance you seek, it still contains a fully working computer, and there is no reason it should be discarded straight away. Our unique technology enables your device to be easily upgraded by replacing the PUZZLEPHONE’s Brain CPU module. The PUZZLEPHONE Brain is a self-contained computer in a convenient modular enclosure that is easily connectable. However, we are developing a state-of-the-art technology that will enable your old Brain modules to live on after you decide to upgrade.

http://www.puzzlephone.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/PuzzleCluster-A4-rev3-flatten_lr.png

PUZZLECLUSTER, the first scalable computer cluster platform based on recycled modular mobile technology.

The PUZZLECLUSTER will allow PUZZLEPHONE Brain modules to be reused and connected to form a fully integrated computer cluster. Our goal is to deliver a scalable product that can meet the needs of home users and small and medium enterprises, but also public institutions and data centers. Its applications can range from research and data analysis, to rendering farms and in-house cloud services, as well as any other case that requires parallel computing.

Initially, the PUZZLECLUSTER will include a power supply, internal connectivity for the PUZZLEPHONE Brain modules and supporting peripherals and external connectivity. It will also provide slots for PUZZLEPHONE Battery modules, which will be used for built-in UPS functionalities.

Thanks to this, all the computing power of the PUZZLEPHONE can live beyond its lifecycle in the device, and continue to live for a very long time as part of the PUZZLECLUSTER.

“When developing the PUZZLEPHONE, we always think about the whole cycle, from sourcing components to manufacturing, the device use itself and what to do when the time to upgrade comes,” says Alejandro Santacreu, Circular Devices CEO. “The PUZZLEPHONE Brain is a fully functional low power computer ready to be integrated in the PUZZLECLUSTER. It makes no sense to discard a perfectly working computer just because you have upgraded your smartphone. The PUZZLECLUSTER will extend the usable life of the PUZZLEPHONE Brain modules way beyond any other smartphone processor”.

At Circular Devices, our priority is to deliver state-of-the-art technology while minimizing our environmental footprint. We achieve this by thinking about the whole product life cycle before and after its planned use and exploring innovative and disruptive concepts like the PUZZLEPHONE and the PUZZLECLUSTER. We don’t dream about the future, we make it happen now.

We are very pleased with such great thought and initiative from the team at Circular Devices & wish them all the best for the future projects.

Stay tuned for more tech buzz.
