Why Is Link Building Important For Your Business? Find Out Here

As an entrepreneur, you know that success depends on various factors. One key factor is your ability to build strong links for your business website. There are many different types of links that you can build for your website. The most common types include backlinks, blog comments, directory listings, guest posts, and social media likes or shares. Website owners, bloggers, and other online marketers all rely on link building to help them reach their business goals. You may be wondering why link building is so important. Keep reading to find out more about this essential aspect of online success.

Creates More visibility for your Website

One of the best benefits of link building is that it can help you create more visibility for your website. When you have links across the web pointing back to your site, this can help you to increase your online visibility. More people are likely to discover your website and engage with it. Increased visibility is essential for newer businesses or those without a large marketing budget.

Consumers will notice your website when you invest in link-building strategies that work. There are many different tools and techniques that you can use to build the right types of links for your website. Of course, it is crucial to consider finding quality backlinks relevant to your industry that can provide value to your website visitors. By focusing on link building, you can help your business succeed in today’s competitive online marketplace.

Helps You Improve Your Search Engine Ranking

One of the most important reasons to focus on link building is that it can help you improve your website’s search engine ranking. When you have strong links pointing to your site, this signals to search engines that your site is valuable and worth displaying in search results. As a result, your site is more likely to appear higher up on the results list when potential customers perform a search related to your business.

When your site is ranked high in search engine results, this also means that you are more likely to gain quality traffic. People looking for the products or services you offer will be able to see your site and click on it. This can help you to grow your business quickly and easily.

Builds Trust and Credibility

Another reason to focus on link building is that it can help you build trust and credibility with potential customers. When other websites link to your site, they trust your site and believe it contains high-quality information. This can help you attract more visitors to your site and convert them into paying customers.

This can be especially beneficial if you can get links from authority sites in your industry. Authority sites are those that are well-known and respected by consumers. These links show that you are an authority figure in your industry, which can help you gain the trust of potential customers.

Builds Your Reputation as an Authority in Your Industry

Another critical reason link building is so important is that it helps you build a strong reputation as an authority in your industry. When other sites with high authority link to yours, this tells search engines that your website has valuable content and should be considered an expert resource for anyone researching your industry or niche. As a result, people who visit your site will view you as an expert in your field and be more likely to use your products or services.

This is a critical way to build trust with potential customers and encourage them to do business with you. It can also help you attract more high-quality links in the future, as other websites will want to link to a site considered an authority in its industry.

Generates More Traffic to Your Site

Link building can also generate more traffic to your website. When people see links to your site on other websites, they may be curious about what you have to offer and click on the link to visit your site. This can help you increase the number of visitors to your site quickly and easily.

More traffic can lead to more sales and higher profits for your business. It can also help you build a strong customer base that will continue to do business with you. In addition, if people find your site through a link on another site, they are more likely to remember your URL. Hence, revisit your site in the future. This can help you build a loyal customer base that keeps coming back to your site.

Allows You to Reach New Audiences

Link building allows you to reach new audiences that may be interested in your products or services. When you receive links from other websites related to your industry, this can help you attract customers who are unfamiliar with your business.

As a result, you can grow your customer base and increase sales for your company. Link building is an essential aspect of online marketing and should not be overlooked by any entrepreneur looking to build a successful business website. By focusing on different link-building techniques, you can improve your search engine ranking and generate more traffic to your site. As a result, you can grow your business quickly and easily.

Helps Connect With Other Businesses and Influencers

One of the most important reasons why link building is so crucial for your business is that it allows you to connect with other companies and influencers in your industry. This can help you build valuable relationships that lead to future collaboration opportunities, joint ventures, or sales referrals.

When businesses and influencers link to your site, this can also increase the visibility of your website and help you gain more traffic from potential customers. If these connections lead to sales opportunities down the road, they can be a great way to generate new revenue for your business.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur looking to grow your business, an online marketer trying to build your brand, or simply someone who wants to improve their search engine rankings and visibility, link building is an essential part of success. By focusing on various link-building activities, such as guest posting on other sites or sharing content on social media, you can build strong relationships with other online marketers and improve your search engine ranking and visibility.

Socialising with colleagues is what employees miss most about working in offices

Auxilion, a leading provider of digitally transformative IT services and solutions, today announces the results of a survey* which reveals that the thing office workers miss most about the office is socialising and interacting with colleagues (53%).

This was followed by separation between work life and home life (40%), routine (35%), getting out of the house/apartment (34%) and the sense of team (28%).

The survey – conducted by Censuswide and involving around 1,000 office workers in Ireland – found that some 39% of office workers say the pandemic has had a negative impact on their company culture.

Wexford ranked the highest county in this regard, with 55% of office workers from this area saying the pandemic has had a negative impact on same. This was followed by Kilkenny (53%), Laois (52%), Cavan (50%) and Meath (50%).

Despite this, just over a fifth (21%) of all survey respondents would like to be in the office full time going forward. The highest demand for a return to the office was among workers from Monaghan (56%), Kerry (35%) and Louth (32%).

The study also revealed the biggest challenges for office workers when working from home. These are less separation of personal and work lives (42%), being unable to talk to colleagues face-to-face (40%), loneliness/isolation (39%), a lack of motivation (30%) and non-work distractions (30%).

To break this down generationally, Gen Z respondents say the biggest challenge when working from home is lack of motivation (44%). Meanwhile, Millennials find loneliness/isolation (40%) the most difficult aspect and Gen X say it’s being unable to chat to colleagues face-to-face (46%).

For the Boomer generation, the top challenges were non-work distractions, lack of suitable technology/equipment and loneliness/isolation (36% respectively).

Furthermore, the research found that almost a fifth (18%) of those surveyed took a career break to look after children, parents, or other dependent relatives during the pandemic. In fact, almost half (47%) of Gen Z respondents took a career break for this reason.

Niamh Cray, Head of People and Talent at Auxilion, said: “Hybrid work is still a new concept and one that many Irish companies still have to figure out in terms of best practice. Employers have to be mindful that a one-size-fits-all approach won’t work, with some thriving at home and others craving a return to the office.

“Organisations need to get the balance and their approach right. While greater flexibility is a major benefit for people, businesses must ensure that this doesn’t have an impact on the ability of people to be collaborative, interactive and productive – or jeopardise work/life balance.

“Putting the practical tools and well-thought-out strategies in place to empower workers will be the way forward and will help to create the new workplace. For example, more effective communication tools might be needed or flexible start times could prove beneficial.

“Listening to people is also key and understanding their challenges, whilst helping to overcome them, will also help to rejuvenate company culture. In fact, you could say that these challenges are opportunities to make the employee experience even better than before.”

About the survey

All statistics relate to the office workers/respondents who completed this survey. The research was conducted by Censuswide between 19.01.2022 and 26.01.2022. The survey reached 1,001 Office workers in the Republic of Ireland. Censuswide abides by and employs members of the Market Research Society which is based on the ESOMAR principles.

RISE energy-efficient display technology licensed by Ynvisible

The display manufacturer Ynvisible has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with RISE for sole rights to the research institute’s energy-efficient electrochromic display technology. Twenty years of research lay behind RISE electrochromic display patents that are now being licensed. For the research institute RISE, it is important to ensure that innovations can be commercialized and thus strengthen the business community in Sweden.

RISE’s electrochromic display technology underpins Ynvisible’s energy-efficient e-paper display. Ynvisible has had a non-exclusive licensing agreement to RISE electrochromic display technology since 2020, which has led the international display manufacturer to invest in commercial production of printed electronics in Sweden. The research and development collaboration between the companies is now being expanded and intensified, as Ynvisible licenses a part of RISE extensive IP portfolio in electrochromics.

“Printed and organic electronics have evolved tremendously over the last few years,” says Duncan Platt, Unit Manager at RISE. “Electrochromism is a key technology for developing green electronics and we believe Ynvisible is well positioned to commercialize the technology.”

With solar cells, the energy-efficient display can be powered entirely without a battery, it has lower electricity consumption and creates less electronic waste than conventional display technology. At the heart of the technology is an ink that changes color at altered voltages. It creates a color shift that allows different zones or segments on the display to be turned on and off. The displays are thin and flexible, and at the same time, their robust design enables them to be used in several different areas. For example, they can be configured as smart labels in logistics and pharmaceutical packaging or for retail and outdoor signage.

Twenty years of research lay behind RISE’s patented electrochromic display technology. The chemical and materials research behind the display technology is derived from Linköping University and RISE. Printed Electronics Arena is operated by RISE and run in close cooperation with Linköping University. The testbed is funded by Vinnova, Region Östergötland, Norrköping Municipality, and the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.

New Report Reveals App Security Isn’t Being Taken Seriously Enough

The global app protection company, Licel, has published a visual report into the State of Mobile App Security. The report uses illustrations and statistics to tell a striking story about the huge gap between our reliance on mobile apps and how robustly they are being protected. It also sheds light on how covid-inspired evolutions in device usage have emboldened attackers.

“During the pandemic, a torrent of phishing messages were pinging on people’s phones,” explains Licel CEO Ivan Kinash. “While that did increase awareness of the device being a target, mobile apps are still a bit of a blind spot in cybersecurity. For example, most people assume that if an app is available to download from official stores, then it must be safe. The report debunks a few myths like this one.”

One eye-catching section of the report explores the findings from a Licel study into the app protection used by some of the world’s biggest banks. It highlights that none of the apps analyzed came with vital security measures like tamper-proofing based on strong cryptographic algorithms, screen recording prevention, blocking the use of remote-control tools, or keylogging detection.

According to Licel, this is a recipe for disaster for banks given that they trade on trust. While they are getting much better at educating their end users about security, such advice is undermined if they don’t also apply protection to their own apps.

If the report suggests the current state of mobile app security leaves a lot to be desired, it ends with a message of hope.

“We all have a part to play in improving mobile app security,” says Kinash. “From us as app protection providers, through to Apple and Google, to the businesses developing apps, and finally to the end users themselves. The point of this report is not only to show the current state of play, but to set a course toward a more secure ecosystem”.
