Vonmählen confirms straps free from ‘forever chemicals’ - techbuzzireland

Premium tech accessories company, Vonmählen, has announced details of the toxin-free material used in its range of silicone based watch straps.

With growing awareness around the potential impact PFAS (polyfluoroalkyl substances) is having on the environment and people’s health, Vonmählen has reassured its channel partners and customers that their silicone-based range of smart watch straps are 100% free of toxic substances.

In place of fluoroelastomers (FKM) that rely on PFAS-based additives, the Classic and Wave smart watch bands incorporate between 35-42%* recycled silicone.

This material is skin-friendly, toxic free, and offers a durable alternative for consumers. The silicone based straps have also been independently tested by TÜV Rheinland.

With growing interest in the materials and chemicals used in products today, we were keen to reassure our customers that our silicone based watch straps are free of any harmful substances.

Neil Meredith, Commercial Director, Vonmählen

Vonmählen’s wider watch strap range incorporates a number of recycled materials including silicone, nylon and ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene).

Vonmählen straps are available from John Lewis and Select, Ireland.
