videogame franchises casino

Sometimes, classic, and well-known videogame franchises cross over into other spheres of online gaming. Occasionally, you might see a renowned video game appear as a slot option or as a live casino gaming selection on a betting site. Some of the most recent crossovers include slot games based on Tomb Raider, Call of Duty, and Street Fighter.

While some games have extended into the casino space seamlessly, others are yet to take off or have not even been explored by casino game developers. Here, we look at some of the most popular video game titles that could work well in a casino game crossover.

Castlevania

Castlevania is a well-known adventure/horror videogame franchise owned and developed by the Japanese company Konami. The original game was released for PC in 1986 and players had to complete different levels and quests in a side-scrolling setup.

Over time the game has developed from its original PC gaming option. Throughout the 1980s, 90s and 00s, the Castlevania series was released under many different titles for PlayStation, Nintendo, and Gameboy.

Now Castlevania is available to play on several devices, including computers, tablets, and mobile phones. One of the most recent releases was the Castlevania Advance Collection, which was available on several devices.

This classic game franchise would work perfectly as a slot game or themed casino option. It’s horror graphics and adventurous setup would blend perfectly with a progressive-style casino game.

King of Fighters

The King of Fighters is a classic arcade-style fighting game that was first released in 1994. Since its original release, the game franchise has expanded massively over the past three decades. As a result, gamers can play different versions of King of Fighters on PlayStation, Xbox, PC and mobile. In 2010, the classic game was even made into a science fiction film.

Originally, players would control different fighters in-game and combat against computer-controlled opponents. Alternatively, players could play in cooperative modes and compete against other gamers or the computer. The early game versions were simplistic with just four different fight combinations available. But the game became more advanced when new consoles and playing platforms were released.

The fast pace nature of King of Fighters would be a welcome addition to a quick-play style casino game. Also, themes and symbols of the original King of Fighters could be included to increase interactivity and nostalgia for this potential casino spin-off.

Smash Bros

Upon its original release in 1999, the Nintendo-created game Smash Bros introduced new and exciting elements into the classic fighter games. Whereas traditional fighters worked on an elimination basis, Smash Bros added further ways to defeat opponents, such as removal from the gaming arena.

The game continued to develop and introduce new versions into the 2000s and 2010s. More modern versions of Smash Bros were released on PlayStation, Wii, and the portable Nintendo Switch.

In 2018, the latest version of the Smash Bros franchise was released. With a five-year gap between games, now could be the perfect time for Nintendo to expand its popular franchise into the online casino market.
