With over 20 years experience in the transport industry and mobile coms I’ve seen changes and we’re not done yet. Online shopping has boomed over the last few years and will continue to do so but this comes with problems especially with clothes. Why you ask? There is several reasons such as size and the colour settings on your PC/Laptop which can give you a false impression of the actual colour of the item itself.
I have been caught out with this myself with phone cases strangely enough and I am to only blame myself and the saying is true its better to see in the hand than via your screen and many a time I have dissed something I did see on-screen until I held it personally so nobody is exempt from this behaviour and perhaps its a thought you might want to take heed of before jumping onto your PC/LAPTOP before all these annual sales come knocking on the doors.. but lets be honest we cant resist a good deal and personally I shop more so online for personal use but not for clothes,Its the one thing I like to do a phsyically go into a store, see, feel and try on..
Now we are in an era where some companies allow FREE RETURNS using certain vendors to do so this app works in a similar way as reverse logistics can be a bit of a pain in the ass in general for some and turn out to be more hassle than its worth but this is what you signed up for when you shop online particularly from the UK and another bode for Irish shoppers is that many companies will not ship to Ireland which today by default I still find unbelievable but there is ways around this again by using other methods like Address Pal and Parcel Motel to give two examples of popular options here in Ireland.
The biggest problem with online returns is clothing and its for size and colour, yes we do have genuine faulty goods across the board too but I can categorically tell you one of the main issues is clothing, nothing else comes near it when it comes to returns. For the reviews so far on the app I think it will be more hassle than its worth in the long run unless they are prepared to keep at it,the app has been updated today so time will tell just how convenient the app/service is itself or if it’s a inconvenience to the company in the long run.. You can also avail of a drop off point to a local post office..
