Apple is said to announce an iPad pro next week and Samsung have just dropped a clanger here just in time to of course reply to Apple with a monster tablet, they today teased of some images of the upcoming announcement in October. Google earlier today updated their “exlpore” option which enables people in the UK and USA to find restraunts and food outlets easier, now they have also updated street view,so Google seem to be working hard this week alongside other news they have shared..from today you will be able to tour immersive 360-degree imagery and submit your own to to Google Maps. Find a great hiking trail, check out restaurant and hotel interiors, and snap and share your own photo spheres (360-degree panoramas) to Google Maps for others to explore and enjoy. All in one place. This Street View app will replace the Photo Sphere Camera app for iPhones and the Street View from Google Maps app on Android phones.
Explore
In one gallery, you can explore Street View collections and content from Google Maps alongside photo spheres contributed from people around the globe. So whether you want to track the Loch Ness monster in Scotland, scale the famed rock wall El Capitan in Yosemite, or hike Mt. Fuji, the Street View app has you covered.
Google today have announced a new update to the “explore” option to make life easier for food goers, however this update will be just for the UK and the US first, this might be a nice idea if you are stuck for choice or want to let Google decide for you, there is already similar options available on the likes of Augmented reality app City Lens from HERE maps which is also a very handy app on Windows Phone ..try it out… For now this update only applies to Android only and no word on iOS…
Google say
Starting today in Google Maps for Android in the US and UK, you’ll be able to uncover the best your city has to offer with our updated explore feature. And in NYC, San Francisco and London, you’ll enjoy curated recommendations from Google Maps. Now you can discover what is unique (and delicious!) about the neighborhood you’re in — whether it’s pre-theater dining in the Theater District in NYC, Dolores Park picnic fare in the Mission in San Francisco or centuries-old pubs in The City in London.
Once you pick the category that suits your craving, you can see in-depth details about each location. Swipe through photos, get details (family-friendly? quick bite?), and check out ratings and reviews from Google and other diners. And for select spots, you also discover why it may be particularly relevant to you: for example, Google Maps may recommend a place that’s popular with other diners who visited a place you’ve been to in the past.
So there you have if,off with ya now and find some food if you are hungry, tell us how it is…
This is something interesting that popped up over the last few days and we have seen images of what Wi-Fi supposedly looks like discussed but this time it is a visual real live affair via an app which is to launch on Android in 2016 and iOS later this year in December and was created by Richard Vijgen.. who goes on to say
“We are completely surrounded by an invisible system of data cables and radio signals from access points, cell towers and overhead satellites. Our digital lives depend on these very physical systems for communication, observation and navigation.”
There has been many remarks about this saying its untrue and some saying its possible and great,on the upside I think its a good idea.. A site specific version of the app that will be on display at ZKM from September 2015 until April 2016
The Architecture of Radio is a site-specific iPad application that visualizes this network of networks (cell towers, wifi routers, communication, navigation and observation satellites and their signals) by reversing the ambient nature of the infosphere; hiding the visible while revealing the invisible technological landscape we interact with through our devices.
