#Mastercard Extends Partnership with Samsung to Deliver #SamsungPay in Europe

Good news for some but how long before will we actually have it here in Ireland,As is Apple Pay is now operational in the UK but its capped at a nominal spend of £30 which will probably rise later on in the year,As is NFC has not took off here yet although the technology has been around some years and mobiles coming with NFC chips built in,what will likely kick off the buzz is when Apple Pay launches. Some companies already here have spoken to Apple about Apple pay but nothing has been set in concrete yet as when it actually launches.

Samsung Pay is scheduled to launch in the U.S. and South Korea later this summer and Samsung is currently working with banks and partners to bring the payment service to Europe.

MasterCard and Samsung Electronics announced they are extending their global partnership leveraging the MasterCard Digital Enablement Service (MDES) to deliver Samsung Pay in Europe.  Samsung Pay is a mobile payment service that will enable consumers to use their Samsung flagship mobile devices to make every day in-store purchases at contactless and mag stripe terminals leveraging NFC and MST technologies. Samsung and MasterCard will together roll out Samsung Pay throughout Europe. Card issuers will be able to connect to the MDES platform and activate the Samsung Pay service upon launch. Cardholders from participating issuers can activate their credit, debit, reloadable prepaid and small business cards in the Samsung Pay service and use their mobile devices to make everyday purchases.

“With the continued global growth and reliance on connected mobile devices, we are delighted to expand our relationship with Samsung by extending the reach of Samsung Pay and MDES to cardholders in Europe.  Europeans have been leading the way in the adoption of new ways to shop, buy and make a payment. Through our strong partnership with Samsung we look forward to continuing to drive innovation in mobile commerce by creating simple and secure digital payment experiences for consumers,”  said Javier Perez, President of MasterCard Europe.

Samsung however are loosing sales mostly due to the high cost of new devices such as the S6 and S6 Edge and are now looking to lower prices which would not only be a wise move but would be the right move with the fierce competition out there from other manufacturers.

Facebook now allows everyone in Europe to add a legacy contact #Facebook #SocialMedia

What happens to your social media when you die ? Many people often wonder this but social media is something thats talked about most and in recent times digital legacy companies are on the rise to allow users to suggest people to manage your Facebook or Twitter accounts for example..Facebook did however introduce this option to add a legacy contact some months ago but was only for users in the USA,now its for everyone in Europe.

What is a legacy contact?

A legacy contact is someone you choose to look after your account if it’s memorialized. Once your account is memorialized, your legacy contact will have the option to do things like:

  • Write a pinned post for your profile (ex: to share a final message on your behalf or provide information about a memorial service)
  • Respond to new friend requests (ex: old friends or family members who weren’t yet on Facebook)
  • Update your profile picture and cover photo

You also have the option to allow your legacy contact to download a copy of what you’ve shared on Facebook, and we may add additional capabilities for legacy contacts in the future.

Your legacy contact can’t:

  • Log into your account
  • Remove or change past posts, photos and other things shared on your Timeline
  • Read messages you’ve sent to other friends
    Remove any of your friends

You can now avail of these settings on your desktop and mobile all you need to do is head into your security settings on both…

How WhatsApp Spying Creates a More Aware Digital Parent.by Hanry James #WhatsApp #DigitalParent #XNSPY

Is your child accessing content they should not or do you know what your child is doing, have you set up restrictions on home PCs and tablets, installed parental controls ???? Its estimated around 70% of children hide content from their parents……..

Spying is a touchy subject but being a Digital Parent in todays world is not  Hanry James explains how you can become  a digital parent and talks about XNSPY .

I know how sometimes catching up with your children’s tech trends can be exhausting. Just when you thought you’ve caught up with Facebook, they’ve moved onto Twitter and so forth. But that’s what we’re here for. To keep you informed so you can be the alert digital parent. So today, we’ll talk to you about WhatsApp spying. The reason this is so important in 2014 is because kids are increasingly using WhatsApp, the instant messenger as their means of communication. And if you’re not monitoring this, you’re eluding 70% of their digital communications.

Why is WhatsApp Monitoring Important?

Well, for starters, conversations on WhatsApp tend to go longer than your average SMS conversations. The reason is simple: WhatsApp is not only free, it is instant. And for another thing, it allows kids to have group conversations, which means more than 2 people can be involved in one window. See why monitoring WhatsApp becomes so important?

XNSPY, the Number 1 WhatsApp Monitor

So when I talk to you about monitoring your kid’s WhatsApp, one software comes to mind: XNSPY. It is the parenting app that lets you remotely view all the activities on your child’s smartphone. And this includes WhatsApp. With XNSPY, you’ll be able to view your kid’s chats live as they are happening. As if you were actually holding their phone. You’ll be able to

Read through the entire WhatsApp chats

View all the media shared through those chats

Retrieve the names and numbers of the WhatsApp contacts

Know the exact time and date at which each message was sent/received

You can also set limits by putting some contacts or words on your ‘Watchlist’. So any time a suspicious word is used or an undesirable contact messages your kid, you will be sent a notification.

Be a Complete Digital Parent

Leaving children unattended with their smartphone maybe  irresponsible, it is also dangerous. WhatsApp spying and monitoring their phones as a whole only makes you a more responsible digital parent who is in tune with their kid’s technologies. Trying XNSPY might just let you protect your kids better.

Yahoo LiveText now on Android and iOS #Yahoo #Android #iOS #Chat

Yahoo has officially announced Livetext, an app where users chat with friends by sharing video and text — but THERE IS NO SOUND.Yahoo Livetext  was being tested in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Ireland over the last few months.Plenty of messaging apps out there today but this is something new and as consumers we like new ideas so lets have a look….

Arjun Sethi, Senior Director, Product Management  says  “Connecting with your friends should be spontaneous, convenient and memorable – but also fleeting, just like a real-life conversation. So today, we’re introducing Yahoo Livetext – a new way to communicate that blends the immediacy, simplicity and ease of texting with the expressiveness of video, without the audio. We see video as a way to make your conversations more authentic, and we see text as a way to connect that’s quick and non-intrusive. We think you’re really going to love it.Starting tomorrow, Yahoo Livetext will be in five new countries – U.S., U.K., Canada, Germany and France.

Yahoo Livetext puts your words and your friend’s real-time reactions at the center of your conversation. Whether you’re watching Avicii DJ at the Creamfields Festival, at Venice Beach or taking in the view from the Eiffel Tower, you can spontaneously connect with the people you care about and invite them to experience moments with you. Your friend’s goofy look or giant smile, even her eye roll or silent sigh, suddenly become a part of your conversation. Simple conversations are transformed into vivid, authentic and memorable experiences that you can share anytime.

Key Features:
FREE FOREVER: You and your friends can live video text as much as you want! Livetext uses your internet connection (Wi-Fi when available and your cell connection otherwise.)
ONE-TO-ONE: Not for group messaging, it’s like you’re passing notes in class.
TEXT + LIVE VIDEO: Both at the same time – it’s amazing.
NO CALLS: Just live video text your friends and you’ll see them instantly when they enter chat.
ADD FRIENDS: Use their Livetext ID or your address book contacts to connect.
PROFILE PICTURE: Use any image to show your friends who you are.

Selfie stick owners rejoice, there is a site to tell you if you are banned or not. #SelfieStick

Selfie sticks are a craze right now and also a pain in the ass for some, personally I hate them, they are annoying and pointless in most cases, with mobile phones getting better and devices that have cameras with good front facing cameras like Lumia phones there is no need for them and eventually we hopefully will see the craze slack off.

However people still carry them around like a spare limb and they annoy people with them, quite similar to folks who carry umbrellas and carelessly wave them all over the place..

There is now a site that can tell owners if they are allowed bring their weapon of annoying destruction with them or not, over the last year many places have imposed bans on them which is welcome in my book..

CanIBringMySelfieStick.com lists more than 100 attractions around the world, and whether selfie sticks are permitted are not.

Users can search by name, city or country and the website will list relevant locations with either a Yes or a NO.. As seen below we have a few Yes votes here in Ireland…

The website also gives more detailed information where needed, for example, Alton Towers says ‘yes’ to selfie sticks, but not on the rides.

While selfie sticks are the affordable tech gadget of the moment, their increasing use has led to a backlash with many finding them annoying and obstrusive, as well as potential safety concern.

Created by online ticket company AttractionTix.co.uk, the website will soon be adding the ability to submit new attractions.

Selfie stick restrictions are becoming increasingly common and have already been banned from numerous locations including several sports ground, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, London’s National Gallery, and all of Disney’s theme parks.
