TCL Sparks Inspiration Across Italy with Olympic Winter Games Themed OOH Campaign and Brand Activations

TCL, a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, has launched a large-scale OOH campaign across Milan to celebrate the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. Featuring advertising in more than 30 high-traffic locations and hundreds of placements throughout Milan and surrounding travel gateways, the campaign will run throughout the Olympic Winter Games period, with selected placements continuing until the end of March after the Paralympic Winter Games conclude.

As the Olympic Winter Games host city, Milan will welcome countless tourists heading to watch the action live. TCL hopes to spread the campaign message of ‘Inspire Greatness’ to global and local audiences, aligning the brand with the collective spirit, ambition, and human stories at the heart of the Olympic Winter Games.

Across Milan, TCL’s visuals appear along major arterial roads, on sightseeing buses, within metro stations, and at key travel points including Milan’s central railway stations, Malpensa and Linate airports and beyond into Venice and Verona. One of the campaign’s most visible installations is a billboard mounted on the 90-meter-high Tower of Municipal Technical Services in central Milan, establishing a strong visual presence across the city skyline.

“The theme of our OOH campaign and experiences is all around Inspiring Greatness – and this isn’t just for the athletes competing in the Olympic Winter Games, but for all of us who dare to push the boundaries,” said Stefan Streit, CMO, TCL Europe. “Our presence across Milan is designed to bring the spirit of this huge sporting moment into our everyday lives.”

Public Showcase in the Heart of Key Cities

Video: Edelweiss from the Alps, now blooming at Milan Central Station

Beyond outdoor visibility, TCL is also inviting audiences to engage with the brand through public-facing showcase in Milan. At Milan Central Station, TCL has launched TCL Edelweiss Land, a creative showcase located in Piazza Duca d’Aosta. Open daily from 10am-10pm until the 22 February, the installation spans over 500 square meters and offers visitors a space to try out the latest TCL innovations such as the TCL SQD-Mini LED TV X11L.

Designed around environmentally conscious principles, the showcase reflects TCL’s commitment to responsible innovation while offering hands-on experiences and photo-worthy moments.

TCL’s commitment extends through the TCL Road to Milano Cortina 2026 Tour – a travelling initiative that will visit multiple Italian cities at key shopping centers. Kicking off in Rome in November 2025, the tour has staged successful pop-up activations in Rome, Turin and Venice, and now arrives in Milan. It continues at MILAN IL CENTRO ARESE, running through to 15 March, where TCL has visibility on the balaustre of the ice-skating area next to the booth. TCL’s Olympic Winter Games themed booth is also open at the Milano Certosa offline store.

Supporting the Olympic Winter Games On-Site and Worldwide

TCL will help millions of fans to enjoy the Olympic Winter Games on-site and worldwide by providing TVs, digital signage, and technical assistance to the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) so that media at the International Broadcasting Centre can bring Milano Cortina 2026 to global audiences. TCL’s ‘screen universe’ and other innovations such as AI-enabled air conditioners will also be featured in a TCL space at the Milano Olympic Village, showing how technology gives fans more choice than ever in how they enjoy the Olympic Winter Games, showing how technology gives fans more choice in how they experience the Olympic Winter Games.

TCL is also present with branding and devices in several NOC Houses, the official homes of the National Olympic Committees where fans, athletes, and delegations gather to celebrate.

TCL is also helping to ensure athletes participating in the Olympic Winter Games are ready for action. As they settle in, TCL’s next-generation home appliances such as smart washing machines and dryers are helping them to enjoy a new level of comfort at the Anterselva and Livigno Olympic Villages, while TCL TVs help them relax and unwind. TCL is also supporting the “Athlete Moment”, providing the display technology that will connect athletes with their loved ones for moments of celebration immediately after each event.

TCL UK earns highest engagement at the Olympic Winter Games

The UK division of TCL recently recorded the highest online engagement across the Olympic Winter Games, according to findings compiled by Quantcast.

The AdTech firm tracked UK engagement across the open internet, including news sites and blogs, identifying both the sponsors and sports that received the greatest levels of interaction during the event. TCL saw the largest increase in online engagement across all sponsors, at 30 per cent.

These results reflect the strength of TCL’s approach to the Olympic Winter Games. Rather than simply appearing as a sponsor, we executed a series of activations designed to create genuine audience connection, most notably the local UK ‘In My Zone’ campaign, which featured short-form social content created directly with athletes. The campaign showcased how TCL’s TVs, soundbars and home technology support athletes in their day-to-day lives, from analysing track footage and self-coaching sessions, to gaming for mental reset, family movie nights and recovery routines.

Through a combination of local and global activations and an omnichannel strategy that balanced creativity with reach, TCL was able to meaningfully connect with audiences throughout the Olympic Winter Games.

Amazon launches ‘Think Big Circle’ to connect Irish students with peers worldwide

Today, 25 students from Gaelscoil na Giúise in Tallaght will join 130 schools from over 30 countries to compete in the Coding4Mandela Tangible World Cup.

Sponsored globally by Amazon, the event marks the official launch of the Amazon Think Big Circle, a global collaboration platform designed to connect and empower Amazon Think Big Spaces worldwide.

The Tangible World Cup is an annual online competition that brings together learners to solve engaging, never-before-seen Tangible Coding challenges. This unique unplugged approach teaches key problem-solving and coding skills using physical grids, tokens, and mobile devices.

Following the launch, the Amazon Think Big Circle will become the central hub for continued collaboration, supporting the co-creation of programmes, peer-to-peer learning, and innovative global events that inspire creativity and build community impact.

Opened in 2022, the Amazon Think Big Space in Tallaght was the first of its kind to launch in Europe, and was created in collaboration with South Dublin County Council (SDCC) and South Dublin Libraries to provide a place beyond the classroom for students to explore and cultivate an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) and STEM-related careers.

The facilities were thoughtfully designed to ensure that students and the wider community have access to high-quality resources to learn about cloud computing and technology in an equitable way. To achieve this, AWS has donated interactive screens, tablets, VR headsets and other resources to furnish the Amazon Think Big Space, and create an immersive, hands-on approach to learning.

Joanne Reynolds, Regional Community Engagement Manager at AWS in Ireland, said: The launch of the Amazon Think Big Circle marks an exciting new chapter for the Amazon Think Big initiative, and global learning and collaboration. We are delighted to have Tallaght’s very own Gaelscoil na Giúise representing Ireland among over 130 schools participating in the Tangible World Cup today globally. This initiative demonstrates what’s possible when we empower young people with the tools, space, and confidence to solve problems together, regardless of their location. It’s not just about coding skills, it’s about breaking down barriers, building connections, and inspiring the next generation to think big!”

For the learners in Tallaght, the event is about more than just a competition, it is a chance to connect with peers across the globe, experience the excitement of a live international challenge, and develop skills that will help address both the digital divide and the social divide.

Ellie Nì Mhaonaigh, aged 12, a participant from Gaelscoil na Giúise said: “The coding is like a puzzle, and I love working with my friends as a team to solve the different levels. It was also cool to see schools from other countries.

The Tangible World Cup is supported as a part of Amazon’s global investment in STEM education and community development, ensuring that students everywhere – from rural villages to major cities – have the opportunity to build skills needed for the future.

Revolut surpasses 2M young customers worldwide on <18 app; bolsters product in bid to put financial power into hands of teens

Revolut, the licensed European bank with more than 40 million customers around the world, has today announced that its <18 app for 6-17 year olds now has more than 2 million young customers worldwide — jumping to a total of 3.5 million worldwide when including guardians. In the last year in Ireland, total customers of the Revolut <18 app — including kids and their guardians — have increased by nearly 35%.

A version of Revolut built especially for Gen-Z and beyond, the <18 app helps young people manage their money in ways that work for them — while providing the right controls to give parents and guardians peace of mind. In line with its growth, Revolut is supercharging its <18 app with a new look and features. These include Analytics to boost financial literacy through budgeting and spending analysis, and Wallpapers to help <18s to help teens express themselves.

The company is also making features like Pockets to set aside money towards specific goals and Spare Change round-ups available to all <18 app users for free for the first time. In Ireland, some of the top 20 goals for young people already using Pockets through a parent or guardian’s paid plan include:

  • Clothes, specifically from fast fashion site SHEIN;
  • Gadgets, such as mobile phones, PCs, and PlayStation 5s — or even cars;
  • And summer holidays — with London the most sought-after destination.

The addition of this new functionality for all will supercharge young people’s ability to put money aside for the things that matter to them — from the latest tech to events with friends.

Carlos Spada, Head of Product, Revolut <18 commented: “Our <18 app is built for teens and our goal is to be the ultimate financial companion, growing with young people and their financial needs. The features we’re announcing today will empower young people to take the lead on their finances and practise healthy money habits, all with fun opportunities for personalisation and the right level of parental oversight.

“We’re excited to see more and more young people choosing Revolut as the place to build towards financial independence.”

Revolut’s <18 app is also available in more than 20 markets including the UK, EEA, Australia, Singapore and the US. In Ireland, Revolut has seen an increase in average daily <18 wallet balances — up from €38.92 in March 2023 to €42.34 in March 2024, while average monthly <18 spending has decreased — down from €150.18 in March 2023 to €124.79 in March 2024. Alongside that, Irish kids received an average allowance of €9.71 in March 2024 — down from €10.41 last year.

To help young people grow healthy money habits, parents can try:

  1. Finding everyday moments to talk about financial concepts. From budgeting at the supermarket to comparison shopping for a particular purchase, parents can help their kids understand the real-life value of money.
  2. Giving kids a regular allowance or pay day. By providing regularity, parents can encourage kids to practise money management basics.
  3. Getting granular on spending habits. Helping kids make use of spending alerts and analytics to stick to their budget, avoid overspending and think about where they might do things differently next time.
  4. Helping kids put money aside to reach their goals. Whether your kid is after the latest video game or they’re planning ahead for university, help them set goals and stick to them.
  5. Remembering financial literacy is lifelong. Stick with them and be consistent while they’re learning. Ensure money chats are positive and encourage questions.

easySim Launches Affordable eSIM Data Roaming for Travellers Worldwide

easySim.global, part of the easy® family of companies, has launched a new data roaming service for over 150 countries worldwide, offering users huge savings when using their smartphones abroad.

Whether you are travelling for business or pleasure, the cost of using your mobile overseas can be shocking. Most of the UK mobile networks such as EE, Sky, Three and Vodafone no longer allow their users to “roam like at home” in the EU, and data charges in the rest of the world are almost always outside your standard mobile bundle.

The answer to extortionately high data costs abroad is a prepaid eSIM from easySim.global, the new international roaming service from the easy family of brands. easySim.global provides travellers with reliable internet for smartphones and tablets around the globe, meaning you stay connected using your favourite apps at low fixed prices.

The quick and easy way to get cheaper roaming data abroad
eSIMs are a great way to change your mobile data provider when travelling to give you access to much better rates than your standard contract, without removing the primary SIM card from your phone.

Martin Lewis of Money Saving Expert recently used an eSIM on holiday and commented: ‘The whole experience was easier and simpler than expected’.

How it works
Simply choose your destination country and data bundle at www.easySim.global, then load the eSIM from the QR code in your welcome email. Set your new eSIM as the default for data roaming as you land in your destination and you are good to go!

eSIMs are compatible with the majority of 4G/5G Apple and Android smartphones, there are no apps to load or tricky SIM cards to install. Customer service is provided online 24/7 via the easySim.global website.

Who can benefit from the new service?
easySim can save international travellers money, whenever they use mobile data outside their standard coverage zone, regardless of their country of origin or mobile operator.

For example, UK visitors to popular destinations like Turkey, USA, Morocco or Thailand can achieve great savings on data roaming compared to their standard mobile contracts. Likewise, Americans arriving in Austria; Aussies attending the Ashes; Indians interested in Iceland or Spaniards sightseeing Singapore could all save money on mobile data compared to their deals at home.

Who is behind easySim.global?
easySim.global is a new business formed by Portsmouth based telecoms entrepreneurs Jim Guest and Richard Gwilliam, with the support of easyGroup Chairman Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou. The company seeks to challenge the punitive international data roaming charges imposed by many mobile operators, by offering low-cost data with no catches from a convenient digital platform.

Co-founder Jim Guest says of the venture: “Summer is here but business travellers and holiday makers have had enough of the cost of roaming when they use their smartphones or tablets abroad. We’re proud to be working with Sir Stelios to take on the big boys of the mobile market and protect consumers against bill shock.”

Sir Stelios had this to say about the launch of easySim.global: “easySim.global is a new way for travellers to get low-cost mobile data worldwide. It’s simple to use and great value, so the company is perfectly aligned with easy® brand values and I’m delighted to be working with the directors to get new customers onboard.”

How much can you save?
Using a 14 day stay in Turkey as an example, easySim.global offers 3GB of data for only £7, saving a minimum of £63 against the major UK network operators’ bolt-on tariffs. But many situations are much worse: Ian from Portsmouth recently had to pay £416 for only using 69MB in a single day in Turkey!

How to get started
Check your phone is eSIM compatible and it’s not locked to a network, register for the service at www.easySim.global and purchase the right data bundle for your destination. You will receive a QR code by email which you use to activate your eSIM.

  • easySim.global provides prepaid data eSIMs giving access to local Tier 1 mobile network operators worldwide.
  • easySim.global’s roaming service is data only and does not provide voice calls or SMS, but voice calling and messaging through popular apps such as WhatsApp, Facetime, Messenger etc.
  • The full list of supported countries can be found here.
  • The full list of eSIM compatible phones can be found here.
  • Users will be required to change their phone settings to set the eSIM as the default data service while abroad.
  • Customer support is provided online 24/7 using the contact form on the easySim.global website here.
