Tech Review – Konftel Ego bluetooth speakerphone #Konftel #Tech

Having the right tools be it in the office or on the move is an important factor for many folk including myself and being in the tech space I consider myself lucky to have that equipment and get to test such out. Over the years I have tried many conference speakers and as expected they are getting better, more compact and more features and of course the price is getting better too which is a win for the consumer.

The Konftel Ego is the latest to drop on my desk and this is ideal for home use and indeed the office and with the work from home trend boom it is an ideal kit to have for more than just work duties this can be used in a personal capacity too for playing music on so you are not just buying a product for one use case scenario but two and to top it off it is portable and it is one of the slimmest ones I have used and the shape and design of this speaker is something different compared to the circular models which are popular and it stands out, several people have asked what it is here in the house and they all agreed with my thoughts on it. You can see the unboxing over on our You Tube

You get a travel pouch to store it in and the required cable to connect to your pc/laptop to charge up then you have the bluetooth connection of course keeping things wireless which I like and if you are one to be doing lots of zoom calls etc and you have the Konftel Cam 10 you have the ideal kit be it at home or if you are travelling and so on you have the ideal kit right here. It also works with works seamlessly with Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, Zoom, Avaya IX Workplace and many other collaborative tools.

There is a cool LCD screen underneath the grille on top that shows status/function alongside the LEDs on the side in different colours to indicate the function and then you have the simple controls on the left and right which makes it a non complicated tool to have at your disposal.

You also can connect to a smartphone or tablet so it is not just a pc based product it can be used almost anywhere, the sound that comes from the speakerphone is omnidirectional so a meeting with up to six people in a room is a breeze for this and you can hear crystal clear and the sounds pack a punch too when playing music and if you want you can connect your headphones so overall it is a win win for both office and home use and then the portability factor just tops it off for having such a compact tool that looks good and gives a great audio experience for you or anyone in your meetings.

Irish Fintech Strikepay Acquires UK Competitor Gratsi. #Fintech #Gratsi #Strikepay

Strikepay, the fast-growing Irish fintech company delivering a revolutionary patent-pending cashless tipping and payment solution, today announced that it has acquired UK competitor Gratsi (Gratsi Ltd). The acquisition will complete this month with the Gratsi founder, Jack Spargo, joining the Strikepay team as Vice President of Engineering. Working with founders Oli Cavanagh and Charles Dowd, Spargo will bring his complementary technology solution to the Strikepay platform, broadening the reach of the revolutionary cashless tipping, payments and donations proposition.

Gratsi has been operational in the UK since 2020 and has been growing its customer base in the hospitality and beauty industries. The acquisition will ensure that the synergy between the two companies can be maximised with existing Gratsi customers transitioning to Strikepay.

Strikepay was founded in late 2020 as a direct response to the challenges posed by the rapid acceleration to a cashless society. Consumers want to tip and to donate to charities but often cannot because so few now carry cash. Strikepay  fixes this problem for consumers and is rapidly growing across a number of industries including retail, tradespeople, hospitality and beauty. It is also supporting a significant number of large charities, helping them to increase cashless donations from people in a much easier way, with a simple tap of their phone.

Gratsi was launched with similar ambitions during the height of the pandemic. The company focused on facilitating contactless gratuity and tipping for workers in the hospitality and food industries and has built a loyal client base in the UK.

Speaking about the announcement Oli Cavanagh, CEO and Co-Founder, Strikepay said: “We are delighted to be making this announcement with Gratsi today and that they are as excited as we are about joining the Strikepay team to help drive our product development and innovation. The technology they have built is incredible, and they had begun to carve out a great business in the UK so by joining forces we will be able to accelerate our expansion plans beyond Ireland.

“Consumer behaviour has changed dramatically following the shift to a cashless society over the past year. Gratsi were focused on solving the same problems as we were at Strikepay and together we are well positioned to run quickly with our combined solution for both businesses and for consumers. Our unique proposition will allow us to tap into new opportunities that are opening as a result of the rapid shift to a cash free world.”

Gratsi founder Jack Spargo said: “Gratsi and Strikepay share a similar mission and when the opportunity to join forces was presented we were delighted to take it. Working together we are stronger and will be able to double down on our efforts to solve this problem positioning ourselves as the leading cashless tipping and giving solution in Europe. The reopening of society over recent weeks has demonstrated the need for this solution as well as the potential for growth. We are really excited about the opportunities ahead as part of the Strikepay team.”

Top 3 Things Every Gamer Could Not Live Without

Playing PC games is one of the most popular hobbies in many countries around the world. PC gamers are a different kind of gamer compared to people who play games on a console as they need more equipment to make it enjoyable. Visit the home of great gaming PCs to find more interesting items for computers.

Nearly all great games require fast computers with high-end graphics in addition to other upgrades and kits required to play games without any problems with lag, poor controls, or discomfort.

There are several pieces of gaming kit that are commonly used, however here are three common things gamers must have.

1. Graphics Card

An adequate graphics card is an essential upgrade for your computer if you want to play the latest games without experiencing a slow play rate, dodgy graphics, or lag. When looking for a graphics card it is worth shopping around and checking where to get the best budget graphics card whether it be from a computer hardware store on the high street or online. It is recommended that graphics cards should be at least 6GB and ideally more than 8GB for gaming at 1080p.

There are a few well-known brands of graphics cards on the market that you can easily fit into your gaming PC such as the  Nvidia GeForce and AMD Radeon ranges. Installing a quality graphics card will allow you to play games at a higher resolution which will ensure all the textures run correctly and smoothly.

2. Gaming Headset

If you love playing multiplayer games then a gaming headset is a vital piece of kit that allows you to hear the in-game sound effects and communicate with teammates or enemies.

A major consideration when choosing which gaming headset to get is sound quality, this probably means spending more than you would on in-ear headphones but the size and standard of speakers and wiring will provide an audio experience with clarity and depth.

You should also consider the quality of the microphone so you can communicate easily with your fellow gamers, the worst-case scenario here is having sound problems such as irritating crackling, or popping. However, most mid to high-end gaming headsets have good quality microphones fitted as a standard such as the HyperX Cloud Revolver S and Razer Nari Ultimate brands.

Finally, when checking out headsets for gaming you should test their comfort and see if the headband is adjustable and padded. It’s not uncommon for gamers to play for hours at a time, so it is essential to make your headset has adequate padding otherwise it could lead to issues like headaches.

3. Gaming Chair

It doesn’t take long to get immersed into a game and before you know it half the day or night has passed, and if you don’t have a comfortable gaming chair then you will probably end up with a few aches.

Even though they cost quite a bit more than usual desk chairs, gaming chairs are crucial for a more comfortable gaming experience so it is well worth investing in a gaming chair that will give increased lumbar support, a curved backrest, and lots of upper back and neck support. It is also a good idea to check the adjustability of the gaming chair, in case you need to make it lower or fix it at an angle. If you are looking to avoid any gaming-related injuries and strains then a specifically designed chair for gaming is a must.

Gaming is a hobby people are passionate about worldwide, although for it to be fully enjoyable you need to ensure you have some essential equipment including a good graphics card, headset, and gaming chair.

CLIPr, a Video Analysis and Management (VAM) platform using AI and machine learning to index video content to help people save time and reduce video fatigue, announced today that Poly (NYSE: POLY), a global outfitter of professional-grade audio and video technology, has become an investor, strategic partner and customer of CLIPr. As a first step, Poly will utilize the platform internally for its recorded video assets, including global sales meetings.

CLIPr’s VAM platform is designed to save time, increase productivity, and is expected to allow Poly and its customers to manage and extract important moments of recorded video content so they can organize, search, interact and share with ease and efficiency. Recorded videos are processed by CLIPr’s machine learning algorithms, which analyze audio and visual cues using natural language processing and emotion detection to index the most important topics and moments in each video.

According to Microsoft’s Work Trend Index, virtual weekly meeting time on Microsoft Teams have more than doubled, climbing 148% in February 2021 compared to the same time last year. Additionally, the Index found 54% of survey respondents felt “overworked” and 39% felt “exhausted.” Measures should be taken to reduce the number and length of virtual meetings to improve employee health and productivity moving forward in remote or hybrid work environments.

“This is a proof point in our strategy and we believe CLIPr brings true innovation to video conferencing, will increase productivity by improving the way people consume and recall remote meetings, as well as extend the value of virtual conferencing content for event organizers,” said Beau Wilder, vice president and general manager of video collaboration at Poly. “We see the value CLIPr provides customers, especially given the explosion of video content in the marketplace, as businesses change the way they conduct meetings post-pandemic.”

CLIPr’s searchable database and quick recall of video content makes it easy for employees to follow-up and take actions without relying solely on time-consuming and often incomplete note taking. The CLIPr Trainer component of the VAM platform allows humans to manually review the AI-processed video segments in a timeline view and make adjustments as needed, which in turn, further trains CLIPr’s machine learning algorithms to understand each user’s individual preferences over time.

“Together with Poly, we’re excited to discover the many compelling use cases for CLIPr spanning the full range of functions within the enterprise,” said Humphrey Chen, co-founder and CEO of CLIPr. “Essentially, CLIPr puts the power to see and hear at scale directly in the hands of the workers which we believe helps enterprises solve one of the most time consuming and daunting tasks of the remote and hybrid work era.”
