XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro projector review

The XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro projector is one of their latest on offer and comes in smaller footprint than the Halo+ we did some time ago and offering pretty much the same package only slightly less in depth features inside however there is one or two new features welcome.

Packed into a smaller size robust square can with a super clean finish you will find all the ports on the rear plus a fan and a covered woofer which looks cool and having this covered means no dust getting in the way as projectors are known for collecting dust and it is wise to place it in a position away from windows not sitting on a chair and away from a wall.

Setting up is simple and you can simply sign in with your google account and away you go all your apps will be there and anything else is on the play store.

This can be left on a table, desk or chair or ceiling mounted as it can be altered in the settings for your preferences and this also means it is portable, even with the Halo+ I was able to bring it on my travels and now with this one even easier and again can be moved between rooms in the house. The MOGO 2 pro also supports power banks which is a huge bonus for those who travel and there is no mains if you are outdoors for example of course in dry weather.

The picture is excellent as you will see on a professional pull down screen and a blank wall I have tested in on in my house and whats more with the auto focus and auto keystone correction which is one of the best I have seen on a projector makes setting it up and moving from room to room a simple process.

Having tested for some time now watching YouTube films on Netflix,Plex Prime and more the quality is great and up there with the last model this has 400 ISO lumens and is bright in comparison to other projectors we have reviewed which is many.

The audio is excellent too with excellent bass but this has no EQ settings on that front, there is picture settings as before and overall you will not be disappointed with the results you get here.

You have a new protect your eye mode mode which means if you walk by the lens you will not get blinded which I often did on the previous model and now that is a thing of the past and works well and should be standard on all projectors.

You can cast to the projector and connect via Bluetooth and use a speaker too which is handy there is all the inputs you need for your consoles too which makes it a very versatile product to use all round not talking up huge space like a TV does and now fits in with my home set-up really well and certainly one to look at if you want a new media viewing experince without the clutter.

Check the video below for more where you see the product in use and all the features

PayPal to Create 100 Highly Skilled Tech Jobs in Ireland

PayPal today announced that it will create 100 new highly skilled data science roles at its Dublin office. This expansion reflects the company’s commitment to investing in the future of commerce through advanced data science and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and marks a new chapter in the transformation of its Irish operations. The new AI team in Dublin will serve as a key spoke in PayPal’s global network, working in close coordination with PayPal’s other innovation hubs.

This hiring initiative is being supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland, the country’s investment promotion and development agency, and comes as PayPal continues to evolve its Dublin site beyond its roots as a customer service hub into a centre for innovation at the forefront of the global digital economy.

“As we shape the next generation of digital payments, the talent and innovation coming from Ireland will play a critical role,” said Aaron J. Webster, Global Chief Risk Officer at PayPal. “This expansion reflects both our confidence in the local ecosystem and our ambition to build an AI-driven, data-powered future that embeds trust and safety in every transaction. We are proud to deepen our commitment to Ireland and to invest in highly skilled roles that will help shape the future of PayPal globally.”

The new roles will span a range of disciplines, including AI engineering, data science, software development, risk modeling, and cybersecurity. These positions will support key strategic priorities such as loss prevention and enhancing outstanding customer experiences, placing innovation at the core of PayPal’s global mission.

Webster added: “Our work to solve some of the most intricate and critical commerce challenges globally is fueled by the unprecedented scale of our platform and unmatched data at our fingertips. We are redefining what is possible by empowering data scientists to push boundaries, harness cutting-edge AI, and transform the future of fraud detection and payment security.”

Peter Burke, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, said: “This announcement by PayPal is a strong vote of confidence in Ireland as a location for high-value tech investment. The creation of 100 highly skilled roles in cutting-edge fields like AI and data science reinforces our status as a global hub for innovation, and I would like to commend PayPal for its ongoing partnership with IDA Ireland.”

Michael Lohan, CEO of IDA Ireland, said: ‘’I am delighted with PayPal’s decision to create up to 100 new highly skilled tech jobs in Ireland. This is a testament to Ireland’s enduring appeal as a location for high-value investments. We are proud to support this growth and look forward to the continued success of PayPal in Ireland.’’

AKASO 360 Action Camera Review

The AKASO 360 Action Camera is their latest product on the market which is ideal for content creators and more in a small package that is portable and comes well equipped with goods on board.

There is also a selfie stick you can get with a tripod built in so this can be used in many scenarios at home and out and about and of course getting content for whatever it is you do personally.

In the box you get a nice pouch to store it in when not in use you also get two batteries which is great as most similar products come with one and slip in the option to get another battery and you also get a lens cloth and USB-C cable, you will need an SD card here which is not in the box which is standard with most equipment similar today most have these at home anyway and they are not expensive these days but having one in the box would have been nice.

The unit itself is robust with two camera lenses a door for your SD card and battery and has a tripod mount hole on the underside, there is a power key on the right side the camera door on the left alongside the USB-C port for charging the device it has a nice texture all round and the final important part on the device is the 2.29 inch touchscreen where you can check out all your settings and more which is also mirrored in the app itself. On our testing prior launch we used the testpilot app on iOS the app will be available on Android too.

Once you have your images and videos you can then use the desktop app or mobile app to edit and get creative with your videos, this is not my type of thing but after using this I can see the demand for such and now I will use this to get more involved with different ideas on videos my self and it is not that hard to get use to editing and creating your own style of videos on the AKASO 360 check the video below for more and what to expect..

Ruko U11MINI 4K Drone Review

The Ruko U11MINI 4K Drone is the latest drone for me to test out and as a fan of drones it is great to see what is on offer for your hard earned cash these days, this drone is no different and it is the easiest drone I have used to date. This drone is beginner friendly which can deactivated in the app, there is also AI here which we cant avoid these days for better takes of and landings.

The presentation is excellent with a carry case and extra bits inside meaning you can bring the case with you for keeping the drone safe when outdoors there is extra blades and several cables for connection purposes and one battery.

The drone itself is your standard affair when it comes to drone I guess, there is that many out there and lots built off a generic label so it might look familiar to some it is super light with or without the battery.

The control unit is a really good one with a cable built in to plug into your phone of choice this will work on Android and iOS devices and was tested on both, the control panel is kept simple for ease of use and allows to to manoeuvre the drone in any direction or way you like it can also track objects should you need to and holds steady in windy conditions, I had a sea breeze which was pretty gusty at times however the drone held its own and performed with out and issues.

Your phone will act as a viewfinder for the drone which is handy and it is really clear this might vary by your phones screen though I used a Google Pixel 9a and iPhone 16 for reference.

There is a wide variety of extras on the app which you can see below and in the video review most not required for my use but they are there and will come in handy going forward as I plan to use new tech in my videos and this will fit the bill. The battery life and range is also great I would suggest getting the 3 battery pack offer for an uninterrupted session.

The image and video results are excellent and so is the audio which can be seen below in the video and much more, overall this drone is easy to use even for first timers and pros alike and a great one to start with with a simple UI in the app, you will be set up in 5 mins or less and away you go but remember to drone safely and start in a big field or park before you venture some more.

Teen-Turn Launches 2025 Incubator in Galway

Last Saturday, teenage girls from across Ireland gathered at Portershed, a modern co-working hub in Galway’s city centre, for the launch of Teen-Turn’s 2025 Innovators programme, which is backed in part by BNY. The event marked the beginning of a year-long initiative designed to help participants turn promising afterschool projects into viable tech start-ups.

Each year, several Teen-Turn teams develop ideas with real commercial potential — projects that could be brought to market or at least developed into minimum viable products (MVPs). The Innovators programme supports these teams through incubator and accelerator phases. By offering expert mentorship and hands-on support, with guidance from industry and academic professionals, participants are taken through the early stages of the start-up process — from concept to MVP, and, in some cases, company formation.

“I’m really looking forward to this year’s Incubator and the opportunity to work with such a talented and driven group of young women,” said Iseult Mangan, Regional Manager for Teen-Turn. “It’s a privilege to be part of a programme that helps transform those ideas into real-world solutions with impact — empowering these girls to become founders, build sustainable companies, and contribute meaningfully to society.”

The projects in this year’s cohort are solving problems that are both personal and surprisingly universal — the kinds of ideas that don’t always come from the tech industry, but should. Examples include, from Shannon, Caoimhe, Chloe and Biella are building Focus Future, a platform to help families manage the day-to-day challenges of dementia care. From Claremorris, Ema and Simona are developing Evolve Era, an AI-powered health journal that helps track, analyse and potentially flag skin conditions before they escalate. Michaela (Galway), Orlaith (Mayo), and Flourish (Limerick) are behind Own It, an app designed to help girls and young women navigate menstrual health alongside their sporting and academic lives. And Laila (Longford) and Sofiia (Wicklow) are working on Sweet Health, a diabetes and sugar intake management app.

At the launch, the 2025 cohort had the chance to meet alumnae from previous years of Innovators — and get a glimpse of where their own projects might be headed next. Companies from the 2024 year group, who have graduated from the Incubator to the Accelerator phase, are now introducing to the market their tested MVPs. Donna Mae (Clare) and Dana (Mayo) created Gestura, a sign language learning and translation app. And Nora and Elizabeth, both from Galway, developed UNDump, an app encouraging the reuse and recycling of clothing and household items.

From the 2023 Innovators cohort, Mary Lillibeth, Katie and Aoibheann, all from Mayo, will now embark on the final programme phase of the Teen-Turn initiative, known as Vector. Vector groups benefit from PayPal supports. Their app, HerdSync, is a farm management tool designed to digitise how Irish farms are run. What started a couple of years ago as a Technovation project after school is now being adopted by target users.

At Saturday’s launch, the girls had the chance to work with mentors Joe Smyth, SVP of R&D, AI, Digital and Journey Management at Genesys and Co-founder of Altocloud, and Alice Shaughnessy, Clinical R&D Engineer at Luminate Medical and Co-founder of Mirr. Both entrepreneurs shared their own journeys to startup exits and offered guidance throughout the day. Providing young founders with the opportunity to meet people who have actually built something — those who have taken an idea and turned it into a real product, a real company — is a key part of the Innovators programme. “It wasn’t a huge event — just a small, focused group of teen girls and mentors in a hub — but it felt like the right space to start something meaningful,” said Laila Faissal, one of this year’s participants.

For those girls entering into the incubator phase, in particular, the day marked their first step into the business world not just as learners, but as creators and early-stage founders. With mentorship, peer support, and the backing of industry professionals, they’re developing skills — and products — that could shape Ireland’s future.  The work ahead of them won’t be easy. But the message is clear: they belong in the room — and they’re just getting started.

About Teen-Turn: Teen-Turn is an Irish non-profit organisation that provides teen girls, particularly those from underserved communities, the opportunity to gain hands-on STEM experience and the support to acquire qualifications and jobs. More information on their activities and the support they provide to girls is available at www.teen-turn.com.

English Spoken Everywhere: How Language Makes Dubai an Easy Destination for Brits

Suddenly arriving in a foreign country and feeling at home straight away isn’t always to be expected—but in Dubai, it’s nearly the standard for British tourists. The moment you arrive at the airport, English is everywhere: on signboards, on menus, spoken effortlessly by hotel staff, restaurant staff, shop staff, and even by the fellow who helps you with your Tesla rental Dubai at the airport. Add modernized infrastructure and technology-driven travel amenities, and it’s little wonder that Brits are going ga-ga for this Middle Eastern holiday spot.

No Language Barrier, No Stress

One of the biggest faffs of travelling overseas is trying to figure out a language which you don’t understand. Getting a road sign incorrect or accidentally ordering sheep brains for your dinner instead of, say, cabbage and potatoes, not being able to speak the lingo can be proper stressful. But in Dubai? No problem.

English is widely spoken across all sectors—tourism, retail, business, and even government services. The majority of Dubai’s population is made up of expats, and English is the default language for communication between people from all over the globe. That means asking for directions, sorting a SIM card, or booking a desert safari is smooth sailing.

Tech Meets Travel: Modern Mobility with a British-Friendly Twist

Let’s have a word about how Dubai’s modern tech scene pairs perfectly with its welcoming vibe. The city’s gone full throttle into the future with smart services at every turn—automated metro systems, app-based hotel check-ins, and digital payment options literally everywhere. For Brits used to tapping their card or mobile for everything, it’s like being back home, just sunnier.

And then there’s the cars. Tesla rentals Dubai are a thing now, so you can see this modern city in a car that matches the vibe. You want to glide past the Burj Khalifa quietly or pull up to Dubai Mall in a model X? Done—and save the planet, as well. It has plenty of charging points, sat-nav roads, and huge free parking areas, so EV travel not only becomes feasible but convenient.

Navigating the City Like a Local

Because of the ubiquity of English use, it’s easy to get around Dubai. GPS software works just as well and defaults to using English instructions. There are both English and Arabic street signs, and you can even recognize the street names—so you won’t be making that wrong turn into the camel market unless you really want to do it.

Want to pull over at a gas station (yes, even for your Tesla to get a snack)? Employees speak English. Reserving a valet service through your hotel? English. Posing a question to a local regarding the best shawarma place? Nine out of ten times, they will answer back in flawless English—perhaps even with a British accent!

Hospitality That Feels Familiar

Hotel reception, spa bookings, room service—every aspect of your holiday feels more at ease without the embarrassment of a language barrier. Staff are trained to international standards, and British tourists are so common that certain corporations make special efforts to cater to UK sensibilities. You might even be served Marmite on the breakfast buffet or have a “proper English cuppa” asked for you at a café.

This level of ease makes Dubai a top choice for solo travellers, families with kids, and even retirees. Whether you’re out on the town or chilling in your hotel, you’ll always feel understood.

Why Brits Keep Coming Back

No wonder, then, that Dubai is a favorite among British tourists. With English spoken everywhere, there is no guessing, no Google Translate, and no cringe-worthy mistakes. Instead, you get to be fully immersed in the experience—whether that’s shopping in high-end boutiques, basking in the sun on the beach, or tearing through the city’s stunning skyline in a cutting-edge Tesla.

And let’s not forget too the comfort that, if things do go wrong, you can get them sorted in double-quick time because help is only a clear, English-speaking phone call away.

The Verdict on Dubai

Dubai’s high-tech, high-luxury, English-speak environment is one of the easiest—and most exciting—places for Brits to visit. With renting a Tesla Dubai, gourmet room service, or local navigation at your beck and call, you’ll never feel out of place.

So if sun-kissed bliss where everything just works—and sounds familiar—is on your agenda, Dubai should top your list. Job done.
