EV Conversion Specialist Electrogenic Celebrates at E-Mobility Awards

Internationally renowned British EV technology company, Electrogenic, enjoyed a successful evening at this year’s prestigious UK E-Mobility Awards – a celebration of innovation and achievement across the sector.

Held at the British Motor Museum, an independent judging panel of industry experts named Electrogenic the overall winner of the ‘Working Vehicle and Conversion EVs’ category, recognising Electrogenic’s sector-leading work in the EV conversion and powertrain development space.

Steve Drummond, CEO Electrogenic, said: “It’s a real honour to be recognised by the prestigious E-Mobility awards and it’s humbling to have our technology chosen and celebrated by our peers in the industry. This award is all about our revolutionary drop-in electric conversion kits, which incorporate our latest technology. This technology is going into new cars, the Defence sector and to discerning classic car owners via our international installer network.”

Electrogenic is a manufacturer of EV drivetrain technology, known the world over for its work converting a wide range of classic cars. Transformative EV technology, developed in Britain

Electrogenic’s innovative range of kits is produced under the outfit’s ‘Powered by Electrogenic’ technology arm, and comprises options for the Land Rover Defender, Jaguar E-Type, classic Porsche 911, original Mini as well as the Triumph Stag. Different specifications of battery and motors are available for each model – catering to a broad range of customer needs and budgets.

All the ‘drop-in’ kits are defined by their quality and depth of engineering, developed in-house by a research and development team comprising leading automotive engineers, programmers and electrical experts, and overseen by former Arrival Ltd Chief Engineer, Francis Prime.

The ‘plug and play’ powertrain solutions reflect Electrogenic’s approach of developing and manufacturing its own technology, which includes in-house designed software, printed circuit boards (PCBs) and digital dashboards, as well as bespoke Battery Management Systems and vehicle charging technology. The driver interface also gets attention, with sport, eco and traffic modes, as well as a regen-based hill-descent control function for the Defender.

Electrogenic’s cleverly packaged drop-in kits also use highly innovative mechanical componentry, including a unique system for creating high-density battery packs, as well as exceptionally compact in-line and transverse reduction gearboxes, all manufactured in the UK. The neat packaging solutions ensure that for each ‘drop-in’ kit variant, the existing vehicles’ existing structure and architecture is preserved. This approach ensures that all Electrogenic conversions are entirely reversible.

All drop-in kits drive through single speed, fixed ratio transmissions, and are capable of up to 6.6kW AC charging, as well as rapid CCS charging, for total convenience.

Full details on the kit ranges for Land Rover Defender, Jaguar E-Type, Porsche 911, classic Mini and Triumph Stag can be found here.

Drummond concluded: “This announcement represents another significant moment for Electrogenic, as we continue to take our business to the next stage, further developing our world-wide reach. We’ve seen great interest in our EV conversion kits from all over the globe since we revealed them – particularly in North America and the UK.

“Our strengthened network enables us to meet this demand, helping more people than ever before to convert iconic models to EV power. And we’re not stopping here, we’ll be announcing partners for other territories in the coming weeks and months, so watch this space.”

Construction Tendering Tech Specialist EstimateOne Launches in the UK and Ireland

EstimateOne, a market leader in digital commercial construction tendering, announces its launch in the UK and Ireland.

Established in 2009, EstimateOne is a pioneering digital solution specifically designed to combat the obstacles faced by estimators during the tendering process. Drawing from his expertise as an estimator, Co-founder Mike Ashcroft, alongside Andrew Ritchie, built a platform that has revolutionised the engagement of main contractors and subcontractors in the construction industry.

Amidst skilled labour shortages and supply chain challenges, EstimateOne emerges as a game-changer for the UK and Irish Construction industry.

The platform, which is already well established in Australia and New Zealand, takes the complexity out of tender send-outs. For main contractors, it allows them to send requests for quotes (RFQ’s) to their established network of contacts, while also tapping into a vast public network for areas requiring additional quote coverage. Further, EstimateOne’s automated document audit trails ensure any quotes they receive are based on the most current tender documentation, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

Even better, this streamlined process works both ways. Subcontractors on EstimateOne are able to grow their business network, unlocking an array of public tenders and main contractors seeking subcontractor quotes.

With an impressive Australian and New Zealand customer base of over 50,000, EstimateOne has recognised the demand to improve the cumbersome tendering process on a global scale. The UK and Irish market with its growing appetite for digital solutions, and vibrant ConTech market, has provided the perfect Launchpad for international expansion.

EstimateOne Co-Founders Andrew Ritchie and Michael Ashcroft

There has been immediate uptake for EstimateOne’s services in both countries, with a number of highly-respected contractors adopting the platform, including Structure Tone, Britcon, LST Projects, JJ Rhatigan, Collen, Mercury, Conack, and King  & Moffatt.

Commenting on the platform’s efficacy, Bernard Bartley, Estimating Director at JJ Rhatigan says, “Unlike other vendors who focus on take-offs, EstimateOne is all about saving time during the tender enquiry process. We can save hours each tender breaking up trade packages in their document matrix, issuing tender enquiries, and tracking our subcontractor response.”

Chris Dobbyn, CEO at EstimateOne concludes: “We see immense potential in the UK and Irish markets and are eager to lead the industry into the next steps towards digitalisation. As a company founded by estimators, we understand the frustrations frequently encountered in the tendering process, particularly around the manual re-work required in the send-out process. EstimateOne tackles this head-on.”

“We are confident that EstimateOne will continue to bring significant benefits to contractors, subcontractors, and the overall construction ecosystem in the UK and Ireland. The next six months will also see the platform benefit from a range of new enhancements, taking away even more pain points from the Estimator’s day-to-day operations.”
