Qualcom invests €500K to launch new AI practice

Qualcom, a leading Irish provider of IT and cybersecurity services, today announces that it is investing €500,000 to launch its new artificial intelligence (AI) practice. This investment will span three years and, in the continued expansion of its team, Qualcom plans to hire four AI specialists within this timeframe.

The new practice will support secure AI adoption for Irish organisations and enable them to align with evolving regulatory requirements. The investment includes a new partnership with AI infrastructure provider NROC and, as part of this, Qualcom will provide a full wraparound service to secure and manage customers’ AI environments, using NROC’s technology. The funding also includes the training and upskilling of new team members, as well as AI training for Qualcom’s existing managed services and infosec teams.

In turn, the new practice will further enable Qualcom to deliver AI-powered solutions that will secure customers’ Microsoft data, and to provide ultra-secure managed services to businesses. Qualcom has also developed a comprehensive AI policy framework designed to help organisations to incorporate AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT into their daily operations, while safeguarding sensitive data and ensuring compliance,

The company is launching the new dedicated practice in response to heightened demand among customers for AI solutions, services, and capabilities to drive business growth and remain competitive.

This investment comes as Qualcom celebrated 30 years in business in 2025. The company recently announced that it has boosted the headcount within its support centre by 33%, and enhanced facilities at its Dublin headquarters to equip the business for continued growth.

David Kinsella, Technical Director, Qualcom, said: “This investment in our people, platforms, and capabilities reflects our commitment to supporting customers as they navigate both the opportunities and risks of AI. As we look ahead to the next three years, there’s no doubt that the use and applications of AI will continue to grow exponentially. The launch of the new practice will enable us to adapt quickly in line with industry demand, delivering right first-time services that are fully compliant and maximise IT uptime for businesses in Ireland. We’re looking forward to working closely with customers as we support the secure rollout of AI tools to help them to keep pace with their competitors.”

Qualcom to grow revenues to €18M by end of 2027

Qualcom, a leading Irish provider of IT and cybersecurity services, today announces that it expects to grow its revenues from €13.5 million to €18 million in the next three years. This represents approximately 10% year-on-year growth for the business by the end of 2027.

Within this timeframe, the company will increase its employee numbers by 20% across its information security, professional services, and support desk teams. Qualcom currently has a team of 70 people across its locations in Dublin and Belfast.

As well as organic growth of the business and team, the IT and cybersecurity services provider is open to accelerating this growth through acquisitions. Target companies would be similar to Qualcom in terms of services and culture.

Over the next three years, Qualcom expects to see the biggest growth in cybersecurity services, managed IT services, compliance, and round-the-clock IT support. This demand is being driven by the changing cyber risk landscape, advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), and expanding attack surfaces.

Qualcom is also seeing heightened demand from customers for support around standards such as ISO 20007, as businesses increasingly look to secure their supply chains in response to growing cyber threats. To meet this need, the team is rolling out a number of new cybersecurity and managed services.

As a result of this expanded offering, Qualcom forecasts that it will also grow its customer base by more than 25% by 2027. This will include organisations spanning a broad range of industries and across the island of Ireland, with a particular focus on the retail sector in Northern Ireland.

This expected growth follows on from the company recently achieving a Microsoft designation in Azure Infrastructure. In fact, it was just one of a select number of Microsoft partners in Ireland to receive this designation, which adds to its existing Microsoft Modern Work SME and Enterprise designations.

Ken Ryan, Managing Director, Qualcom“We live and work in an increasingly connected world, so the demand for comprehensive managed IT and cybersecurity capabilities will only increase in the years to come. That’s not to mention the pressure on organisations to be compliant with changing legislation and regulations.

“To meet these evolving needs, we are scaling our operations. As well as expanding the team and adding to our portfolio, we are keeping an eye out for possible acquisitions. This ambitious growth plan will further strengthen the support we provide – enabling us to deliver ultra-secure services that give customers peace of mind and drive innovation, not just today but for the future.”

Tech Review – Creative Aurvana Ace 2

The Creative Aurvana Ace 2 are the next step up from the Creative Aurvana Ace which we recently reviewed here on techbuzz and given the shape and size of the case are the same the looks are not giving us a peep inside of the technology, transparent tech is now a thing and we have check quite a few bits of tech showing their inner glory. Though this one has a slightly smoked tint to it which still looks great.

The inside of the case is also surrounded in a copper colour which looks really neat and matches the earbuds looks and gives them a premium look there is a USB-C port on the bottom and indicator light and a button for pairing/resetting.

The fit is the same as before so no difference there at all and give a good seal with the right earbuds again I always say this with any earbuds and the better the seal the better the fit and the better the sound. These are again IPX5 rated so for outdoor use is no issue here at all where half of my testing was done anyway.

The tech inside this time around gives you more although they still use 10mm drivers but have the all new xMEM technology inside which really gives your earbuds a boost which they did with the Aurvana Ace. There is 6 mics this time over the Aurvana Aces 3 mics giving you crystal clear calls and from my testing both ends seemed top notch here and powered by Qualcomm cVc (Clear Voice capture) noise cancellation technology.

In case you are wondering both models support a variety of audio codecs, including LE Audio featuring the LC3 Codec for superior wireless audio quality, SBC, AAC, AptX, and AptX Adaptive, ensuring compatibility with various devices and offering high-quality audio streaming.

Coupled with Qualcomm for the integration of Snapdragon Sound’s aptX Lossless technology, the audio codec delivers hi-fidelity audio at 16-bit / 44.1 kHz, providing a CD-level experience that faithfully recreates the original recording right in your ears.

Overall there is not much difference between the Ace and Ace 2, the Creative Aurvana Ace 2 supports AptX Lossless audio codec and has Adaptive Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation and you can tell the difference if you are a regular user of earbuds and can hear the distinct intricacies with the sound and you will not be disappointed by any means here at all and the same goes for the Ace too, you can’t go wrong for the money here with what you pay for either.
