SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 Review

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 Wireless expands on their multi-platform headset and polishes it to near perfection. While the core design remains the same, the most significant upgrades—namely the massive battery life boost and the addition of the mobile companion app—make this mid-to-high-tier offering a serious contender for the best all-around wireless gaming headset and being able to switch quickly if you have more than one device or console.

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 Wireless headset might be new but the brand is seen as a staple in the gaming arena on conosle or mobile phone in which both was tested over the last while and it is a great headset for both gaming and listening to music or streaming videos etc.

You can optimize game audio for every system with the new SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless Gen 2 for PC, PlayStation, or Xbox  Windows and mobile, the addition of real-time audio control via the Arctis App with presets for the Top-3 games on the planet (Call of Duty, GTA, Fortnite), plus a boosted battery with +40% more juice, makes this master of dual-audio multitasking a “must-have.”

Whether it’s gaming on the go, listening to Spotify or watching Netflix while commuting on the train or bus, taking a Zoom call and needing to tune out the noise in a shared apartment, workspace, or coffee shop, at the home office with furry kids running around, in the gym or on a walk, playing some Call of Duty or Animal Crossing at home, and so much more….

The Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 series ushers in the next generation of audio power for those living a gaming lifestyle. I am one that uses headphones for everything and even for music and podcasts which I listen to most these headphones are quite remarkable with the audio quality I have to say with great bass and of course the flexibility of the EQ on board and I would not swap them over from gaming to another headset if using they are that good with the audio which is a win.

Featuring 200+ expertly crafted audio preset profiles for immersive gaming, music and entertainment via the Arctis App, an improved 54-hour battery life with optimized fast charging, Neodymium Magnetic Speaker Drivers for outstanding spatial audio, and simultaneous mixable 2.4GHz & Bluetooth audio, the Arctis Nova 7 Wireless Gen 2 stands out as the ultimate choice for multi-platform gaming and multitasking thanks to seamless compatibility, a premium build, and powerful controls.

The only annoyance I had was updating these when I took them out of the box requiring two cables and the dongle which should be a thing of the past and should be done via the app like most headphones and earbuds but other than that these are a must have for the true gamers out there and even for those who like great audio listening to music or streaming movies.

OSRAM ROADsight 1500 Dashcam Review

The OSRAM ROADsight 1500 Dash Camera 1080p is a user-friendly dashcam with no faffing around and a simple plug and play dashcam with a 2 inch colour main screen. With a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080p and a frame rate of 30FPS, you can collect clear and smooth video quality footage and with the 110° field of view captures a broad area, ensuring you don’t miss any important details. You can decide yourself from the footage we took both day and night.

Being small in size it does not take up much window space and is mounted in two minutes with the suction cup and then fix the dashcam to the fitting and set to your needs with the ball joint fixture to get the precise angle as this will differ per vehicle.

The UI is simple to use which we go through in the full video review below with video samples so you can get an idea of what you get with OSRAM ROADsight 1500 dashcam.

The one thing I found poor was the mic on the dashcam not getting great audio in quite and noisey situations as you will hear in the samples below. However the footage is good and is what we want most audio or not turned on as some prefer to leave off.

You also have collision protection so files will auto save and you can also save on the go too you can switch between video and photo mode should you need just to take photos which is not something I would use often as I just let the dashcam run and do its job we have reviewed over 50 at this stage.

Getting your files is simple given there is no app on board here which would have been nice however sometimes they are tedious with connecting but you can plug direct into your pc or mobile phone or remove the sd card like the old fashioned way and get your files again shown in the video below.

Overall it does the job and is simple to use which is what many poeple want these days and everyone should have a dashcam in their vehicles today both front and rear with the scammers out there.

Jabra Speak2 75 professional speakerphone review

The Jabra Speak2 75 professional speakerphone is an ideal kit for those who use teams and more not only that it is a great personal speaker.

The Speak2 75 features a sleek, modern “puck” design with a brushed aluminum finish and a premium fabric speaker cover. It feels robust and well-built, giving it a professional aesthetic that fits seamlessly in any office or home setting and a nice upgrade to previous models.  Weighing around 466g, it’s portable enough to put into a travel or tech bag with the included felt carry pouch, There is also an integrated USB-C cable with a built-in USB-A adapter, which makes it highly versatile and prevents the hassle of losing adapters. The capacitive touch controls on the top surface are intuitive and responsive, lighting up when in use which I really like.

This device is clearly tuned for voice, and it delivers as you will see in the video review compared to the laptops speakers. It features a full-range 65mm speaker and Jabra’s “Super-wideband audio” technology, which is designed to capture a wider range of frequencies for more natural-sounding conversations. For conference calls, voices come through crystal clear and rich. While it can also be used for a personal speaker it sounds good as you will see in the review also.

Microphone Quality

This is where the Speak2 75 truly shines. It is equipped with a four-microphone beamforming array that works with advanced digital signal processing (DSP) to effectively isolate voices and reduce background noise. The full duplex audio allows for natural, two-way conversations without participants cutting each other off. A standout feature is the “Microphone Quality Indicator,” a 360-degree light ring that provides real-time visual feedback on how well your voice is being picked up. This innovative feature is a game-changer for hybrid workers, as it removes the guesswork of whether you’re being heard clearly.

Connectivity and Battery Life

The Speak2 75 offers flexible connectivity options, including Bluetooth 5.2 and a dual-connector USB-C/USB-A cable. It also comes with a Bluetooth dongle for a more stable wireless connection to a PC, and supports Microsoft Swift Pair and Google Fast Pair for quick pairing with mobile devices. The battery life is impressive, with Jabra claiming up to 32 hours of talk time making it a reliable device for long workdays without needing a constant charge. It is also IP64-rated, providing protection against dust and water splashes.

Overall Verdict

The Jabra Speak2 75 is an excellent professional speakerphone. Its superb audio and microphone quality, combined with smart features like the Microphone Quality Indicator and full duplex audio, make it a top-tier choice for professionals who need reliable, high-quality communication. It’s ideal for a variety of use cases, from individual use at a home office to small group meetings. While the price might be a barrier for some, its performance and feature set make it a worthwhile investment for those who depend on clear, professional communication.

Initial Hygiene Launches Luna Dry a Futuristic Plug & Play Hand Dryer

Initial Hygiene, one of Ireland’s leading providers of washroom hygiene, vending, and floor mat solutions, has officially launched its latest innovation, the Plug & Play® Luna Dry hand dryer in the Irish market. This cutting-edge hand drying solution is set to revolutionise washrooms across Ireland with its ease of installation, efficiency, and durability.

The Luna Dry’s HEPA Clean Air intelligent filtration system removes at least 99.97% of dust, pollen, mould, bacteria, and airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns. Initial Hygiene’s Luna Dry hand dryer represents a significant leap forward in washroom technology, combining advanced features to ensure high standards of hygiene and environmental sustainability.

The Terra 4 Docking Station enables replacement or upgrade of the hand dryer within seconds, and eliminates the need for an electrician once the docking station has been installed.

A study* conducted by Initial Washroom Hygiene in the United Kingdom highlighted that inefficient hand dryers could be costing UK businesses over £200 million per year in wasted energy and contributing to an extra 133 million kilograms of carbon emissions annually. The study, which analysed 689 hand dryers, found replacing outdated models with modern, low-energy hand dryers like the Luna Dry could significantly reduce running costs and emissions.

Sian Walkling, Head of Marketing, Initial Hygiene, says: “Hand dryers have a lifespan of 5-7 years, but they are an item which is typically out of sight and out of mind.  As long as they are working then very often, they will be left on walls for 10 or 15+ years.

“Not replacing outdated hand dryers may appear to make good business sense, but is it?  Modern hand dryers have evolved to be more efficient at drying hands quickly, as well as being low energy and low noise.

“At Initial Hygiene, we are committed to innovation and sustainability. The Luna Dry hand dryer offers superior performance and aligns with our mission to provide environmentally responsible washroom solutions, with annual running cost of circa €22**. We are proud to introduce this product to the Irish market and support our customers in enhancing their washroom hygiene standards.”

The Luna Dry model includes ION PURE antimicrobial metal ions, providing an added layer of protection against bacteria, mould, and viruses. This innovative feature prevents the build-up of offensive odours and helps to ensure a hygienic environment. The antimicrobial metal ions are incorporated into the hand dryer shell during manufacturing, creating a germ-resistant finish that releases ions gradually in the presence of moisture.
